Natra Valley

A peaceful valley alive and ripe with small prey, Natra Valley is perfect for any sort of lazy day. Pups can play without much supervision and adults can relax. Many times pups are brought here to practice their hunting skills upon the small rodents that populate and thrive throughout the valley. There are trees, rocks, and various other parts of the wilderness that make this place a fun, learning experience.

The Resonance

The Resonance is a beautiful place for young lovers, as well as a many exploring pup. The water is clean and the sounds peaceful. Small cliffs suspend over the water, making it a dare for many young wolves to jump from the cliffs into the pool at the bottom. You won’t find many varieties of fish swimming in the Resonance, as the pool isn’t extremely big and the competition for the water plants fierce. As much as the Resonance is beautiful, be aware to not swim too closely to the east side—tangles and snarls of underwater plants billow freely and might drag a weak wolf to his or her early demise.

Eternity Caverns

Many a young wolf has called out “echo” into these caves and felt it stretch on for miles. A vast network of caves, home to bats, bugs, and other critters, the Eternity Caverns make for a fun day of exploring, in the daylight that is. Enough light permeates through the open air caves to light a wolf’s path from sunup to dusk. When the sun starts to fade, however, the Caverns can turn perilous, a cruel network of endless caves, most that have only one way in and out. Good luck to those who venture in after dark and those caught by the sinking sun.

Olympian Ascent

For those young wolves training their bodies, the Olympian Ascent is a great place for running exercises. Leading up to Inferno Crater, the Olympian Ascent is a green-bordered, smooth path. As one climbs, the view turns, overlooking the entire Natra Valley. The sharp ascent provides a young wolf with much training experience and an increased heart rate. For those who simply wish to enjoy the view with a bit of vigor, this is also an excellent place to do so. A bit of a rigorous nature walk, this is still a popular place with the old and young alike.

Inferno Crater

If you brave the journey up the Olympian Ascent you will find yourself at the edge of the Inferno Crater. A hollowed out hole in the ground, this volcano is active, yet it hasn’t seen much activity in the recent past. Steam still snakes up from the bottom and the heat can sometimes be intense. Very few wolves venture this far up the Olympian Ascent and of those who do, only a small percent are foolish enough to try and venture into the crater. Young, foolish wolves often play dares to see how far one can go into the crater becoming too hot or scared of the seismic activity. It’s a must-see place for most wolves, but after the first time, the magic is usually lost. The climb up is steep and treacherous—watch your step.

Maple Cliff

Along the Olympian Ascent is the cliff that ranges about the Natra Valley. Sheer, dangerous, and hundreds of feet off the ground, most wolves choose to only survey the Valley from the Ascent. For those who brush the danger off, however, it can be a nice day to simply lounge about the Cliff, enjoying the view. Safety is up to the wolf involved and there are very few accidents involving Maple Cliff. For those who take one wrong move, however, that one wrong move spells an incredibly swift death after a long plummet to the earth.

Lilliputian Brush

A forest in every sense, trees dominate the landscape of the Lilliputian Brush. Small critters, rodents, and deer weave in and out amongst the trees, claiming the brush as their own. Hunting is possible, but the deer have the advantage amongst the trees. Hawks hunt their prey during the day and owls watch over the night from amongst the giants. Shafts of sunlight fall lazily through the canopy of the trees, always giving the woods a warm glow. It’s a nice hideaway for those who enjoy solitude and quiet.

Ablution River

Ablution River flows from one end of the land to the other, split into eastern and western divisions and dividing Aelden's valley. The eastern river’s activity is largely dictated by Lake Halcyon, whose fluctuating volume causes the waters to flow calm or fiercely. Even in its most placid state, the river is dangerous to any that dare to cross it, its deep waters and unpredictable currents claiming the lives of many a creature. If the water doesn’t kill you, the creatures that reside beneath the waves just might.

Blithesdale

An inner part of Aelden's Valley is clearly distinctive from the rest of the land by the bobs of gold and soft white wafting amongst the endless emerald sea. Always a sight of beauty and high spirits, pups and adults alike find pleasure in frolicking amongst the sweet-scented flowers of Blithesdale, or to simply experience the pleasure of resting beneath the clear open sky. On summer nights, the fields are alit with the thousand tiny flickering lights of fireflies; a rather amusing spectacle to behold that distinguishes Blithesdale from other parts of the valley, as the insects seem to congregate largely in this area.

The Spring Hills

Blanketed by grass and other plentiful greenery, the hills stretch on and on. The air is pleasant here, trees are scarce, and one can run for what seems like miles underneath a beautiful sky. The amount of greenery covering the hills is amazingly dense and many enjoy a nice frolick through the gentle slopes. Though not steep by any means, the hills are the perfect place for a silly playdate and rolling carelessly, end over end, down the slopes. Many a pup come to play here, as the endless motions cater to their minds. Adults also enjoy the greenery and the silliness that come with the hills and often head here to play as well.

Fenris’ Point

A bit separated from the greener Spring Hills, Fenris’ Point contains a single tree that can be seen from miles away. While still green, it lacks the gentle nature of the Spring Hills. The tree is often seem ominously from miles away, its sharp branches a contrast against the sprightly green of the other hills. Clouds come up over this hill, bringing with them bad weather, making this Point something to be avoided. Some come up here to be alone, but the eerie solitude that stalks this place usually drives them away quickly.

Lake Halcyon

Lake Halcyon is one of Aelden Valley’s largest water resources, as well as an integral provider of clean drinking water to the land’s vast number of residents, taking about 2/8ths of the total land area. Cool, crystalline liquid bubbles from an underground source, glimmering invitingly to the weary, with a clarity and placidness that can sooth the soul as well as thirst. Waters from Lake Halcyon flow through both sides of the Ablution River and finally drains out to the neither regions of the unclaimed.

Badlands

Nothing is alive in this place. Some sort of poison from some sort of author has made this place a dark, desolate landscape. The dead trees sway eerily in the breezes. Dark pools of water ripple suddenly and then quiet. A place of shadows and unwelcomed spirits, many choose to stay away from this place. Crows and ravens hang from the trees, cawing and welcoming your early death so they can pick your bones clean. Tread carefully, for some reason this land infects madness upon those whose minds are not strong enough to stand the deadness.

Diamond's Maw

The once gentle river flows though here, gaining speed and strength as it works it's way through the narrower canyon. The waters are deep and the current is treacherous, you must be careful not to fall in; you never know where you'll end up. Though the waters are strong, the winters are cold around these parts, and the top freezes over with enough strength for one to walk across. This is the only opening in the vast cliffs, and the only entrance to and from the packlands, inaccessible at all times except winter.

Centurion Plains

Trees are sparse here, and the plains stretch out and out. Prey is also sparse here, picked apart from the bare lands by the hawks and other raptors that circle the skies. Dusty, this place is more of a stepping stone, a bridge between more desirable places of residence. Very few wolves call this place home.

Bough of Centuria

Also nicknamed ‘The Miracle Walk’, this hidden river ford is the only part of the river safest to cross. A shallow area that raises from the deep river rift where the current is slowest allows creatures to cross without risk of drowning. During the dry seasons, the ford becomes prominent and easier to access as the water recedes, but in the midst of river’s fiercest activity, becomes another of the many hazards that adds to Ablution’s infamy. Its believed the ford changes location over a period of time, making it a highly difficult sought-for area for those needing access to the north or southern territories. Pups are not advised to attempt to cross at any time alone.

Gulch of Oblivion

The canyon stretches for some distance and offers quite spectacular scenery. In the right light, the walls seem to glow the colour of gold, perhaps responsible for giving the name to those who inhabit it. One should not venture in uninvited; it is the home of the Golden Race and they do not take kindly to trespassers.

Crystal Pond

Clear as a crystal, this pond has many fish swimming about, making it a nice place to fish out a meal. The banks are clean and the water is pure. Some say that this place is enchanted, home to a wolf that falls in love with his own reflection and slowly succumbs to death. Many have tried the old trick but none have fallen in with the unfortunate author of the legend. Still, the crystal water suggests a purity beyond belief and many come here seeking strength from the clean waters. Life thrives around this pond and the whole area has the feeling of wonder and enchantment.

Verdure Falls

The eastern end of Ablution River curves away from the valley towards the Badlands, but branches into a small side pocket of the land before exiting Aelden's vallye. This small segment of the river washes over a small, lesser known area known as Verdure Falls, where the land is carved into a small hollow and the waters deposit with grand majesty into a lake almost always abound in a cool misty spray. The vegetation here is sparse, the land rocky with deposits from the river’s journey, but a somewhat safe haven with the high rock walls surrounding the falls.

Prisma Cave

The small haven of Verdure Falls also provides a second, hidden haven tucked behind the powerful rushing waters. Accessible only by a small slippery strip of land, maneuvering behind the falls unveils an extensive cavern stretching into the earth, branching into small networks of lesser cave areas that can house a decent number of wolves. The deposits from the falls also bring with it a constant supply of freshwater fish and other small edible river crustaceans that make living here possible without ever setting foot in the outside world. Zeta wolves have found it the perfect rehabilitation area for the sick and injured, as well as a suitable nursing hold for expectant mothers, and have claimed the cave their own, the name ‘Prisma’ coming from the array of colors veiling the entrance when light hits the spray from the falls.

Delphian Forest

To the west, the valley eventually grows into a vast forest, alive and lush with plant life that provide the perfect food source for both prey and those that prey. The massive timbers grow to gargantuan proportions, alive since antiquity with the centuries molding them into natural green skyscrapers. Water is provided through the Turbulence Rapids, and even through the dry spells, the forest continues to flourish with the water left from the last rainfall held in the dark soil. There is a sense of cover and security within many paths and obscuring shadows, the tender embrace of the very forest itself felt by its residents.

The Kokoda Thickets

Many careless wolves have run away yelping from this place, tail between legs, and faces slashed and bloody. The thickets are sharp and merciless. Once inside, one can move around freely, but to enter one must be extremely cautious and agile. Young wolves have lost eyes to the sharp stickers if not careful. It is usually a place avoided, though once inside, it is quite peaceful. Some wolves find the challenge rewarding, and spend good hours of time using their eyes to try and find the clearest way through the sharpness. Bragging rights are earned rightfully so for those who brave their way through the thickets.

Kadashi Meadow

A clearing in the center of the forest. Secluded and quiet, it's a perfect place to bring the pups. With the river just a short walk away, slow and calm again after its trip through the rapids, the meadow is a pefect place to visit, any time of the year.

Turbulence Rapids

Strong and harsh, the rapids take no prisoners. Watch your step, because if you fall in these waters you may never make it out alive. But the current is just the least of your worries; sharp rocks and deep pockets of water will be what ultimately takes your life. Though despite the apparent dangers, it can be quite an interesting thing to watch, or in some parts, even swim in if once is feeling brave enough ... or suicidal.

Toglath Plateau

Covered in greenery, Toglath Plateau is raised above the Delphian Forest. One can overlook the Rapids as well as the Marshes. The slope upward is gentle and the view can become breathtaking, especially as the sun rises and opens up over the land. As the area is flat and clear, it's a perfect spot for sunbathing and relaxing.

Pine Marshes

A freshwater marsh, it sustains a vast array of plant and animal life. Though perhaps a bit wet and muddy to tred through, it can provide a nice adventure for any wolf, young and old alike. Some areas can be quite dangerous though; you get stuck in this mud and you may just be there to stay.
