OUT OF CHARACTER________________________________________
This is reserved for all my Tia lovers. Wip, Charcoal, Temi, and Starchaser are specially invited and would be much loved if they replied. <3 Don't feel obligated though. DONE
IN CHARACTER_____________________________________________
______It was too hard to say what the reaction to her return might be, shock, anger, happiness. Tiamat could hardly know, but she did know what she wanted - and that was to see her friends again. Returning to Silver Creek had not been a hard choice for her, with Ivan so far from the picture there was not a reason in the world for her to stay away for another second and so she’d fled home to find her place in the world again. Now all she had to do was make amends with the ones she had turned away from. There was too much hope within her for it to go wrong; she was sure of it. Sure that they would have to see her with understanding eyes. Everyone understood love, didn’t they?
______So, now a newly accepted Tau, Tiamat made her way to the den that she had once inhabited. It was a little dusty, worse for ware without her presence to keep it in a clean and neat state. From a mere scent she could tell that several various animals had snooped in her home searching for a place to live of their own - her too recent scent and the pack of wolves had kept them away, though and so it was still here for her to claim. Smiling to herself she crept into the opening peering around and nosing through the brush she had dragged in to lay on. The stuff had kept her warmer in the winter but now summer had come and the dead greens would not serve much purpose. They would need to be cleared out.
______That was for a later date, though. Twisting about in the small hole she then pulled herself back through the entry way of the den, taking care not to bump her head on the roof top as she had so many times before. Once she reached out into the world she scrambled around to the base of the old oak tree that branched out over her home. It was sprouting leaves and all around green things were coming in, growing and scenting the world. The time had come to say hello to her old friends again and so without further ado she announced her presence to the world - tossing back her head and letting loose a howl to tell everyone she was here, that she was back to stay. As she let the last resounding notes echo free of her muzzle she settled in to wait, watch, and wonder who would come to see her.

Out of Character So I didn't get to posting last night like I thought I would. ^^; But I'm here now! :D
In Character A rhythmic quartet of paws crossed back into the Silver Creek territory after an absence. On an early morning whim, the youthful Iota had followed the Creek all the way out to its source--Morning Glory Cascades. The waterfall truly was glorious in the morning with the still-sleepy sun reflecting off the spilling liquid. It had been a challenge to get a drink from the falls, but Temi had managed quite well. Going at it sideways was the best technique, she found, and the water here seemed to have a distinct taste. As the sun continued its grueling climb, the heat's crescendo coincided until its pitch reached the feverishly high note of summer. Well, it was a good day for a swim.
Afternoon found her damp form plodding along, battling a dull headache. Artemis was probably just tired--it was getting close to naptime anyway. Maybe the silvery female would just settle down under a tree in the shade and just-- Wait. Ebon-tipped ears swivelled at a delayed registering of the sound--the echoes just now dying over the landscape. This stupid headache was doing a number on her alertness. Now who was that? The voice was familiar, she just couldn't place a name to it. Which was odd, as well as unnerving--Temi was a Lorekeeper, and prided herself on her talent of committing names, faces, voices, and the like to memory. Who was it? Who? Who? Who?
The yearling drifted in the direction she hoped the call had originated from, and got lucky. In stark contrast to the shade she sat in, an ivory wolfess came into view--a familiar one. But the memory issue plagued her still, and the female's name danced a jig on the tip of her tongue. Partner in crime, her mind whispered. Boogey men, goofball, left but is here now. Still it stalled worse than a standard driven by a first-timer. "Tia!" Temi cried all at once, dashing toward her friend. The headache remedy would have to wait until later--Tiamat was back! She skidded to a near-halt and launched into a wolven hug, forelegs wrapped around the snowy one. "You're back! You're back! I'm so glad to see you!" She stepped back then, tail still wagging ferociously. "How are you fairing, my friend?"

X-posted to all shamefully late replies: Alright, I’ve taken a long enough break, my brain should be recovered by now. P.S. FOR TIAMAT: omg.you.are.back.yay.fwee.

Her eyes locked onto hers. They flashed into a deep purple for a couple of seconds as they began to try deducing what it was they were seeing. Was this true, was that wolf that stood before her, standing with another female really Tiamat? Standing in the hot summer day as if she had just vanished out of then air. The disappearance of Tiamat had grown to be such a huge ordeal, that Wip had even began to pray to Tor once again, a faith she had sworn to leave behind with her family. So such a big deal had been made within her heart that Wip had imagined the return of Tiamat to be accompanied with a sudden bang, or a shattering earthquake, as if the ground were to all of the sudden spitting her back up.
What emotions were running through her? It was all a bit confusing. When she first saw Tiamat, Wip was shocked, yet as she began to think of it all, her eyes flashed with anger. Why hadn’t she been worth a goodbye? Even if something dire were happening, why hadn’t her self proclaimed best buddy been worth a goodbye, or being told what was happening? Wip would have helped her! No matter what the obstacle! And she had just left the valley, not even telling another wolf so that he could at least relay the message onto Wip. How many nights had the stupid gray wolf lay awake, wondering if Tiamat was dead because she had not been worth a goodbye!?
Wip began to pant harder and harder as her anger boiled over, however, muddled into pure mushy joy, and she was confused as to what to say. She stood only a couple of feet from the two, and she lay there, as she began to sob, shaking her head, promising that if this were real she would pray to Tor every night. She hoped she hadn’t slipped of the deep end.

Tiamat had not expected many to come running at her appearance. Not for a second had she thought the pack might gather and greet her. The home coming she had made would be a quiet one with no need for announcement, but still - she had hoped that the few that had been close to her would appear at her side in good time. Bringing along their emotions - whatever those were. Now that it was over, with Ivan behind her, she could explain everything and make right of it all. Idly the wolf dragged her black nailed paws across the dusky earth about her den, gazing out over the terrain in hopes of spying some approaching face, someone familiar.
It did not take long for the first to appear, and though she was mildly surprised by the lorekeeper she was greatful and glad to see the female. Bouncing to her paws merrily she waved her tail in a hail of good grace and happiness. Artemis seemed momentarily hesitant before she flung herself at full speed toward the newly returned advisor. The pause would have caused time for wonder had Artemis been any slower moving; but she was not. Without further ado she proceeded to pounce on the smaller wolf with full force and speed, crying out joyously. It was good to know she was loved and missed. Her heart tightened in her chest, feeling the strain of over wrought emotion.
A surge of joy swept over the Tau and she wriggled beneath her boogeyman hunting friend and made to lick the other female’s face, washing her ears, snout, and neck with a surprisingly pink tongue only pausing long enough to cry out "Artemis!". By that time Tiamat had toppled over onto the ground, making no mind of the dirt and grime her too white pelt was gathering. This was a time for celebration. There was no doubt that she would have carried on in this cheerful manner and would not have thought another brain wave about any of the others if Wip had not arrived upon the scene.
The sight of the ex-Nova wolf froze Tiamat in mid-movement and mid-thought. Her mind drew up a dramatic white blank. Wip was at the creek. Why? Visiting Charcoal? Looking for her? Had she heard the call all the way from the mountain? Confusion set in and then fell on the Creek wolf like a lead weight as she watched her friend collapse and burst into hysteria. Some sort of meaningless babble was coming free of the female’s lips but Tiamat could not make it out, she was not sure she wanted to. A worried glance was given to Artemis before she rushed forward to Wip and promptly stuck her coal black nose beneath her friend’s muzzle, a deep concerned whine crawling up her throat.

Charcoal wasn't having much luck at tracking today. He'd been quite unable to find his mate after she'd left the den that morning - her scent-trail had been muddled by this and that, and with a slightly blocked nose to boot, he'd lost the trail entirely. Slightly annoyed by this he wandered around the creek somewhat aimlessly, sniffling at odd junctures.
It was in this state that Tiamat's howl rang clear, like a shining beacon. There was purpose! Direction! A lupine lighthouse! Not to say Tiamat wasn't quite white enough, but this evaded him at first - it was another of those familiar things, yet distantly so. The gamma was on his feet, at any rate, to visit this newcomer - mid-gait he recognized the call as belonging to the Creek's old advisor. Tiamat was back! He was slightly surprised; what coincidence, to follow so close on the heels of Sphinx's return. White wolves travelled in packs, he supposed, whether together or not. At this point Charcoal was mroe glad for Wip that Tia was back in the creek, for he knew somewhat of their close friendship - the former had been pining quite bad for her female friend. Though Charcoal wasn't quite was emotionally attached as Wip, he did appreciate the advisor's presence in the pack and as a friend; and he'd always wondered if that last meeting they'd had with Green and all her sleepless nights had prompted her leaving. There was probably a relation somewhere, but he could recall enough to make the link. The important part lay in her homecoming.
The male was in no rush, and clearly wasn't the first to arrive. There was Artemis already on the scene, and (delightfully) Wip, as well. Three birds with one stone, no doubt; he hadn't met with the resident storyteller in a while, either. At the moment, though, Wip seemed to be in a flustered state of laughing and crying or something in between. Charcoal wasn't entirely sure what to do at this point, besides move onto the scene and nuzzle the back of her ear, attempting to figure out what this particular mood swing was.
"Welcome back, Tiamat," the brown male said, lifting his head to greet her, and then looking over her back to address Temi. "Good to see y' too, Artemis." That done the male's worried gaze returned to Wip, as he cocked an ear curiously, waiting for her to respond. "Er, Wip?"

Out of Character I seriously suck at life. Sorry guys. My computer's been running too hot to make posts so it was shutting off on me. I bought it a fan tonight, yay. :D
In Character Temi's sudden onslaught of affection was quickly returned by Tia's salmon tongue. Maybe the gray yearling's joy was unexpected--Tiamat had left without a goodbye--but there was no use dwelling on the past. Artemis made a point of that. She had indeed missed seeing her ivory pelt around the Creek, but there wasn't much use getting angry about it, the calm-natured wolfess thought. Forgiveness was the key. If you were sure no one would welcome you home, why would you go back? Then no one would ever return--she briefly thought of Apollo--and that would be sad indeed.
Another canine arrived on the scene, one that was unfamiliar to her. Or at least she hoped she was unfamiliar and her memory wasn't playing more tricks, or else it would be quite embarrassing. Either way, the Lorekeeper's expression mirrored the old Advisor's look of concern. As the alabaster female leapt to the brownish one's aid, Temi only made a mere two steps forward, unsure of what to do. Tia clearly knew this one, and while Temi was just as concerned, it didn't seem right for her to jump in. And it definitely wasn't the time for, "Hi, I'm Artemis, teehee!" Even through the dull headache, she knew that. For the few moments before the ex-Medic arrived, she just watched as the nameless wolf continued in her bout of hysterical behavior.
Artemis was relieved to a degree when Charcoal showed up--that was, after the delayed moment of recognition--and nodded with a tail wag in greeting. Perhaps the former Medic would have some magic herb to calm this afflicted packmate--and maybe one for her head too. Wip, he called her. Well, that was as good an introduction as any. "Hellooo, Wip," Temi said finally, softly and calmly as always. While questions played in her blue-gray eyes, she stepped forward and continued soothingly. If there was one thing she knew about times like this, it almost didn't matter what you said, the tone of voice was the key. "You've got friends here, Wip. What's wrong?"

Wip wondered what had been sending her on this rollercoaster of emotions lately. She knew it could not all be attributed to the fact that she had switched packs, because she had been used to moving and the move had not been that tough on her had it? The Creek had been easy for her to settle into because she had already known so many of the wolves which called the pack home. She had good relationships with many of the wolves and so with the exception of not seeing her mate too often Wip had had no qualms. Was there some sort of message her mind was trying to get across to her, or was the fact that she was finally seeing Tiamat really causing her to have this reaction. She had felt abandoned when Tiamat had gone, and now that Wip lay on the ground stupidly, she didn't know if she wanted to be angry.
Wip felt her nose nudge her, and then Charcoal, and then heard the female which she had yet to meet. She shook her head and stood herself up, shaking her fur off, mumbling that she didn't know what was wrong with her, and that she was sorry for alarming them. She didn't want to embarass either of them, and she swallowed that lump of dispair that had been their so fleetingly, and suddenly felt like leaving. Nothing seemed to matter anymore, and the dizzyness which she had felt in the past days seemed to increase now that she was actually speaking to someone. Must've eaten something dizzy. Wip shook her head, she didn't register the sentences which she was peicing together. She shook her head sighing, and turned to leave. Not wanting to be followed as she slipped into the trees.

Charcoal’s appearance was none too late, not long after his mate arrived he trotted onto the scene appearing to be none-other than his cheerful self. Giving Tiamat a warm greeting, one she often times recieved from the male, he then turned to deal with his disraught partner. Tiamat barely had the words to return a reply to him, her worry was so great for her friend. Artemis too, seemed concerned. The petite white wolf could hardly even imagine what might have gone so wrong with Wip that she would simply burst into hysteria at the drop of a hat. Frowning she studdied her friend’s face with worry.
The female made blantant excuses about her being fine, about not knowing what was wrong, and then with the quickness that she had dropped into her crazed attitude the wolf turned on heel and left without another word. Confusion and hurt clouded the female’s dark blue eyes and she took a hesitant step after her lilac orbed friend, shooting a concerned glance to Charcoal. There was question in her expression: did he know what this was all about? A low whine crawled up her throat and it echoed after Wip, but her feet stayed planted. Maybe her friend just wanted to be alone. Swallowing her fear, hurt, and the millions of questions Tiamat forced herself to stay.
"Must’ve eaten something dizzy?" Tiamat finally queried aloud, her voice soft and puzzled. |

Wasn't sure if it was mine or Charcoal's turn, so I'm just going to jump in. :D Sorry, this isn't the most high-quality post. :/ |
Instead of accepting any of the help offered, the one called Wip mumbled some incoherent babble about dizzy food and made her exit. The Lorekeeper's confusion matched that which was reflected in Tiamat's voice. Clearly, the violet-eyed female wasn't well--perhaps that was a job for Charcoal, the former Medic, not to mention her mate. Then again, maybe the best thing for her was some rest until she felt better.
Speaking of rest, the increasing intensity of her own throbbing headache was causing her to consider the same fate. But Tiamat had just returned! And already one of her dear friends had jumped ship in a borderline rude fashion. Artemis didn't want to make her snowy friend feel unwelcome or otherwise hurt any more than she already was. Stepping forward, the silvery Iota gave a comforting nuzzle to Tia's shoulder. "Do you think we should go after her?" she asked quietly. A moment after her comment, Temi swallowed hard, keeping a sudden wave of nausea at bay. She wondered if she'd eaten dizzy food too. |

It's okay - sorry for the wait, I've been insanely busy :(
In Character
Varying levels of concern were displayed in turn towards the brown gamma's mate; she didn't seem particularly well at all. Tentitavely Charcoal stepped forward, but she got up as if to leave. Confused, he paused. Something dizzy? Obviously she wasn't putting her sentences together quite correctly. "Wip - do you need to go rest?" he queried at last, but it was to a retreating figure.
Turning back to Tiamat with s;oghtly raised brow Charcoal could only shake his head; he had no idea what was up with her, either. Then his attention drifted to Artemis, who wasn't looking entirely sprightly herself. "I'll go look for her in a bit, it's okay. She's probably just needing some rest alone - your sudden appearance must have startled her, Tiamat," the male said lightly, trying to brighten up the situation a tad. It was good to see old faces return, indeed. He'd never have thought that he'd ever look quite so fondly upon things of the past. Or people. Friends, rather.

shall we finish this up? This is painfully out dated.
Tiamat smiled weakly at Charcoal, hardly able to believe that Wip was going to be alright. It wasn’t common for her friend to be so over emotional. Nodding her head a little bit she finally glanced toward Artemis before murmuring quietly "How about you go after her, Charcoal? We can pick this up some other time. I’m going to be around, after all." A little bit of a real smile, a bit stronger than the previous one, crossed her lips. Wagging her tail at Artemis she said. "Thank you for coming to see me." Another glance toward Charcoal. "Both of you."
Drawing in a deep breath she gazed around, she wanted to get some sleep and relax, enjoy her first few days home before kicking things into high gear and beginning to do her advisor work again and roaming the lands to find out what had happened while she was gone and to catch up on everything else that needed to be done. Giving a little bit of a half bow to them both she murmured easily. "I’ll see you both very soon, okay?" A small yawn, that she hardly managed to smother, escaped her. |

Well, they did know Wip better than she did. After all, Tiamat seemed to be long-time friends with the chocolatey female, and Charcoal was her mate. If anyone was qualified to look after her, it'd be him, especially with his medicinal knowledges. Sending the Gamma after her was probably the best idea--Temi trusted their judgement more than her own at the moment. Her mind was getting a little fuzzy around the edges.
Tia thanked them for coming, and suggested that they continue their spontaneous meeting another time. That might be for the best since now the Lorekeeper was feeling the effects of the "dizzy food" as well in not only the persistent headache, but the light-headedness as well. Maybe she would check in with Charcoal sometime soon if a nice nap didn't solve the problem.
"Heheh, of course you'll see me soon. You can't be rid of me that easily," the peppery femme replied with a little chuckle and a bump to Tia's shoulder. "As for me, I think I had some dizzy food too. I think I'll rest a while. See you both soon." She ended in a slightly weaker smile and tail swish, and was off. Ohhhh, her head... |

Charcoal returned Tiamat's nod swiftly, and nudged her flank with his muzzle. "You're welcome - it's good to see you again," the male reiterated with a smile, and then turned to Artemis. "Take care, yeah? Both of you, that is," he finished with a further glance to the white advisor. A quick bow and the gamma retreated, pushing off from his forepaws and twisting to half-leap past Tiamat, attempting to recall the visual cues as to infer the path his mate had taken - this proved unescessary after a few bounds, for the scent trail was pretty strong. Now to find out what was wrong with her, and then perhaps catch up with Tiamat and Temi at a later date, somehow.
