For Dathan! Rwar.

He didn’t like this – being so close to the borders of a pack land he’d been yet to visit before. Sure, Gold Moon Forest he’d ventured into, but that was only with a pack member at his side that had given him permission. Just the pack member he was now here looking for, Dathan. The older male was probably one of Element’s best friends, and in a way, a father figure for the young Zeta. Sadly, it had been months since Element had seen his friend. Not since the flood and that horrible night that followed. Element winced at the thought, cringing inwardly at memories of what he knew to be the worst day of his life. It had been awful, plain and simple, and he didn’t want to dwell in the thoughts any longer. Shaking his head he snapped himself out of it, and continued to walk.

Now he was much closer. The distinct scent of the pack was on every leaf, every piece of surrounding. His instincts told him to stop here, and he followed them with precision. Stopping dead, the male glanced around, trying to figure out exactly where he was. He knew it was the fields, but that was the limit of his knowledge. How big was the territory? What did it offer? Were a majority of the Gold Moon Forest wolves still residing here? He had questions, but had to wait. He still felt too close for comfort, even though he knew he had an open invitation to the lands thanks to Dathan. His uncertainty held stronger than rash action, however, and the Shadower sat stock still as he waited.

It would probably be best to announce he was here. Call to Dathan, at least. There wasn’t a high chance he’d just so happen to be stumbling around the borders this particular day. The older male would probably be disappointed – even angry – that Element hadn’t visited in such a long time. He had sufficient excuse with everything that had been going on, but still felt guilty for not seeing his friend. So, with a heavy conscience and hold for the rules, Element let out a barking call.

Woot. More El RP's. You know, you and I NEVER don't have an RP going, eh?

Image hosting by Photobucket

There was a bark, high in the air. It was close. VERY close. And it wasn't one of his pack mates, this he was sure of. He could tell, though, it was of some one damned close to a pack mate. Maybe even closer. No...Not maybe. Definitely closer.

"Element." He whispered to himself. It would be good to see his young friend again. It would be good to sit and watch the stars with some one who understood. It would be good just to be with him, all around.

His three legs moved as quick as they could down his boarders. It might not have been fast, more of a trot, but he was still moving and that was an accomplishment with a broken ankle.

Soon enough, he reached the dark male and slowed down. He snorted gruffly at him, and took a seat. "You've grown."

He held his paw up, not wanting it to touch the ground. That hurt to much. Actually, it being there hurt, but he did NOT want it taken off. He would survive with sitting still...or trying to.

That’s because your to ubercool to leave alone. ^^ You and grumpy ol’ Dathan.

He sat patiently as he waited for his call to be answered, admiring the view of the place and the lay of the lands. It was different than the other territories, that was for sure. But it was also an intriguing different. Everything from the view to the scent – a distinct… fruity aroma. He smirked, it was clear why the place was named what it was. A content sigh escaped parted lips as he waited, shuffling in his spot amidst the wiry brush. After a short wait, only fifteen minutes or so Element heard footsteps. His ears perked, eyes scanning the surroundings for an approaching greeter. Then, casting an educated look over his shoulder, he also prepared. Who knows, Dathan may be feeling sneaky and try to come up behind him. He wouldn’t doubt it from his friend. But as the steps neared closer, he was able to pinpoint where they were coming from. In front of him, approaching from around a bend. He craned his neck forward, peeking out in anticipation and hoping it was indeed Dathan coming. Sure enough, there he was. Limping over as fast as he could manage. Element’s first thought was an inward frown at the bad state of his movement. It looked like his injured ankle was yet to heal.

Dathan approached, and uttered simple words. His own form of a greeting. Glad to see him, Element mouthed his own greeting: “You’ve aged.” He smirked, grinning at his silver friend as he sat nearby. It was a joke; a sly little input the two of them were so accustomed to. It was something they did, send little quips back and forth in the manner of fun. Element’s tail started a slow wag across the floor draped in color, and it was obvious he was pleased to see Dathan. “How’ve you been doing, bud?” He shot a glance to his paw, frowning slightly. “Looks like that hasn’t improved too much. Is it bothering you a lot?”

Dathan moved forward a little, bonking his head against Elements at his comment. "Ah, I'm still cuter than you." He rubbed their heads together for a moment and pulled back to sit.

"I've been...Alright. I can't say I admire this place, but it's all I have left, you know? And how're you, pup?" He asked. Some how, every sad and painful thing Dathan was feeling just moments ago...He just felt it all slip away. Element really was good for that.

"Eh?" He asked when Element pointed at his paw. "Nope. And it started bleeding at our recent hunt. Heh. I guess I just don't give it the time it needs to heal. I hate sitting still, and it's finally come back to nip me in the butt."

Dathan couldn't help but laugh at his own stupidity, really. He always had. Every other injury was healing properly, even the gash over his right eye, just....not the paw...

"So, pup, how're your injuries? You alright now? You looked dead last I saw yah."

Element grinned over at Dathan, nipping his ear playfully as he rutted his head against Element’s own. “You wish,” Element retorted, laughing. “Dathan…. You and cute should never be used in the same sentence at once. Ever.” It was great to see him again, to joke and talk like they hadn’t gotten the chance to in a long time. Months, in fact. “It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to see you.” He shuffled his gaze out past Dathan, peering around the territory. “And I’ve never been here before. Strawberry Fields. It seems nice though.” Of course, Element didn’t know much else about the place other than the view. “How do you like it here?” But right as the words slipped out Dathan already had moved on to the very question at hand. “Well… at least it’s somewhere to call home. Better than nothing.” It was true. Anywhere you had to call home was better than no where at all. Element knew that from experience, and he was sure Dathan did too.

“I’ve been doing…” he considered how to answer, biting his lip slightly in contemplation. Dathan had missed out on a lot; Element’s life had taken a drastic change since last time they had talked. “Good. Really good, actually. And that’s saying the least of it.” He wondered how Dathan would take to the news. Of course he had to tell him he had a mate now, a lovely mate from his own back who he cared for more than anything. And then there was Akeboshi too. All of this would certainly be interesting to explain. “A whole lot of things happened since we last talked. Big things,” he was weaving around the main topic, waiting to see Dathan’s initial reaction. One brow was raised tentatively as he debated on how to break the news.

He shook his head as Dathan talked about his paw. “Same old you. You know, you old people have no tolerance for what’s good for you.” He raised a paw dramatically in the air, waving it at Dathan in a classic ‘bad dog’ gesture. “You should learn to listen to listen to our hip young generation,” he grinned. It was clear Element’s humor hadn’t degraded any. If anything, it had risen further. Turning his tone a bit more serious, Element spoke again. “But really Dath, if you want it to heal you should keep off of it. Even if it’s a couple hours a day and while you sleep. I’m no medic, but I have some common sense on the matter.”

Regarding Element’s own injuries on that day months ago, he shook his head. “I’m fine. Nothing long lasting. Just a few bruises, one or two bad ones and a cut or two. It was just stress and fatigue, and a lot of it.” That’s what had worn him down, pummeling the young male into the state he had been in when Indris found the two. “But I’ve obviously gotten my rest since then. And I’m hoping you lost some weight if you ever want me to carry you miles again.”

"I guess your right. It's a place to eat and sleep. But....I wish....Some how I wish this place held it's own memories instead of taking mine. This place...Heh...It's just like....The Valley in Crescent Moon Mountain." he half whispered what he said, shutting his eyes as if blinding himself from his words.

He nodded as he listened to the pup, and quirked a brow as the younger wolf made mention of Changes, and big ones at that. "Oh? Changes you say? Like what? And big ones? Do tell. I'd love to hear about theses so called 'changes'"

"Yes, Yes. Bad Dathan, Bad Dathan...." he mumbled, pretending to whimper. "I don't promise anything, but I will try, I guess. But only because you asked me."

He looked the pup over. He seemed more muscular if anything, really. Maybe lugging him around did the pup some good. "I'm glad your healthy again. And trust me, I've lost weight. Oh God I've lost weight." It was true, horribly true. Dathan had lost a lot of weight. the only thing keeping other from knowing was his puffy fur. Injuries did that to him. He was never hungry, and he didn't stay still long, so he was burning the non existent fat.

He had started gaining again, but only just slightly. He would keep himself fit, by how he was going. He'd also lose himself a paw.

Element frowned upon his friend as he ushered the last words out of his mouth. The Valley in Crescent Moon Mountain… he’d heard it before, heard Dathan spit these words with a tone clearly full of pained memories and harsh experience. Element had never directly asked or learned specifically about the place, he hadn’t dared to delve deeper into those memories Dathan clearly didn’t want to roam through. But the ebony Zeta wasn’t a total dunce, he could figure enough out on his own to realize that this was the place Dathan had survived many of his years in what must have been disgust and pain. He’d heard enough things from his silvery friend to know he hadn’t had the kindest life, and that specific place was probably one of the major roots of the problem. Element couldn’t give much comfort to Dathan on what was the past, yet he couldn’t promise it would be all right in the future either. Already fate had befallen Dathan’s pack – also the pack of a few other friends of the obsidian Shadower – and there was no promise fate had nothing else in store for them or for all the Salvajes. If only he really knew how to read the stars on another level, to predict the future and be able to say everything would be alright.

“Oh, trust me. They aren’t just ‘so called’ changes, Dath. You’d never guess the bucket of luck I got thrown into.” It certainly had been a big bucket indeed. He’d start off slow, not throwing the details too high and too fast. It would probably be one hell of a surprise either way. “First of all… I got promoted again.” One ear flickered absently, a light breeze brushing through the surroundings. “First to Epsilon for a while, then to Zeta. We had a longer standing member of the pack come into adult ranks and be awarded with the spot.” He smiled, tail wagging. “She deserved it though, a lot. A great member.” There was obviously no hard feelings at the rank shuffle. In fact, Element was playing over in his head the last time he’d gotten to see the wolf in particular he was referring too. It had been a while, that was certain. He threw a memo into his train of thought to seek her out next time on the mount, or wherever else he may encounter her. Who knew, the Salvajes was a big place. “And I’ll leave out the other things for a little while sooner.” He winked at Dathan, grinning broadly. “Can’t let you be in total control now. Gotta keep you in suspense.”

Element probably had grown a bit since their last encounter. If not physically, mentally most certainly. He’d had a fair share of psychological weight heaved onto his shoulders during the time, but not all of it was bad. Good and not so good mixed together, but a load all the same. He couldn’t complain now though. He had his life, his friends, his loved ones, his pack. Things were alright in his life and he was happy about it and lucky to have it. And as for physically, there probably was no doubt he’d bulked up a tiny bit. Not enough to notice on a day to day basis, but for Dathan who hadn’t seen him in a few months time just enough of a difference to notice. Climbing up and down a mountain day by day could do that to you. Not to mention all the traveling around Element loved to do. He had grown a little bit in both ways. “Yeah… I’m doing okay health wise.” He eyed Dathan over, inspecting him on the loss of weight matter. It may have just been the remains of a thicker coat, but his friend didn’t appear too thin. “You don’t look too bad though. Of course, keyword being too.” Again, a joke; but probably no where near the end of more to come.

Hey, hun, what are the symptoms for serious illness? And do you want me to put this on the plot board, or you?

Image hosting by Photobucket

Dathan laid himself down, feeling a massive headache strike him. He felt nauseous too...I must be coming down with something... he thought, and tried to shake off his ill feelings. He had to try and be happy. His friend, one of few, was joyous, and he had to try and appear to be as well. He placed a smile on his muzzle and winked at Element.

"Good job pup! You make an old wolf proud!" He grinned happily, wagging his tail weakly behind him as his head lolled tiredly to one side. He snapped himself awake again as Element spoke a second time. He had hardly heard it...Something was not right with him today.

"Always got to....keep me guessing, hm?" he laughed. He sounded almost drunk, the way he was speaking, but he was trying his best to look and act normal, even if he didn't feel it. He didn't feel normal at all, actually...

*Edits* Heh. The link to everything you need to know about the sickness plot is here: Link

Once we finish this thread, we start a new one more 'on time' and then thats where Dathan gets really sick.

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

Element beamed at the happy reaction from Dathan, and especially the words of pride that came from his older friend’s mouth. For the ebony Shadower, Dathan was one of his best friends, but he was also more. He tended to be like a father figure to the younger male, and any pride worthy statement felt good to hear. Truly, Dathan was one of the handful of first great friends Element had ever had, and with what the two had been through already, all the more reason for Element to consider him not only a friend, but one of the best he knew.

He noted that Dathan seemed a bit tired, and watched the male with a careful eye as he continued. “Well, I guess I can throw out the keep you guessing part. At least a little. So here goes then.” Element paused, wondering how he was going to word himself. He didn’t want to jump right out there with ‘You know, Dathan, I have a mate now!’ It just felt… weird. And had it really been that long since he’d last talked to his friend? It was amazing how time flew when you didn’t want it too. He’d have to make sure to stop by sooner again after they were done here today. And hey, when Dathan felt better and was able to travel, Element could take him to Mount Shadow.

Figuring out a decent approach, Element took a deep breath and started. “Remember… remember when we first met and you asked about any special ladies?” Element gave a knowing grin, this plumed tail giving a few quick shakes behind him. “Well, about that.” He raised a brow at Dathan, waiting for him to fill in the blanks.

This should surprise yah!

Image hosting by Photobucket

Dathan only, again, half heard what Element babbled about. He ran his paw over his head and almost half whimpered, then looked back to his 'pup' and smiled. "Caught yourself a little lass, now did you? Should I be expecting grandpups? What is this little femme like?" For a sick old wolf, he seemed more exited presently then Element did.

It made him happy. Happy to know that the pup had finally found love. He was glad. But a part of him mourned for he himself had not found love. When he had hoped he did, she ran away. Now, a new feeling tingled in him for some one else, but he expected nothing in return.

"I'm happy for you, my pup." That was the first time Dathan had ever honestly referred to Element as his own pup, as if he had actually fathered him. But, in his eyes, Element was. And if he could courage it enough to ask, he would ask Element if he could adopt him. The pup was still a pup in his eyes, and he would take him as flesh and blood.

Awwwrr.

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

He was waiting for Dathan’s reaction with a hopeful eye, almost holding his breath as he waited for the older male’s reaction. When it finally came, Element couldn’t have hoped for anything better. The grin that sliced across his features could barely be contained on his face, and he laughed out loud at Dathan’s choice of words. “Yeah… I’ve got a mate now,” he chimed happily. “She’s great, Dath. Perfect.” How was he to describe her in any words beside that? “I mean, I love her. She was one of my best friends before and now it’s even more. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.” As the Fielder continued Element’s laughter brewed.

“Well I’m… uh,” for once he was a little self conscious, a laugh issuing from him as he shook his head. “I was too young… but next year.” Bringing his gaze back to Dathan, a warm smile wrapped itself on his dark face. “I guess next year you can be expecting something.” He and Kiriana had talked it over already, and Element had been worried at first… but now he couldn’t wait. One day he’d be a father to his own blood pups. “But…” he started again. “There’s one other thing.” Technically, he already was a father. “See, my mate – Kiriana. Before we became mates she had adopted one of the parentless pups from our pack. His names Akeboshi.” Element paused, letting the information sink in. “So technically… when we became mates…” he trailed off for a moment, watching for Dathan’s reaction before he spoke up again. “So he’s my son now. Not by birth of course, but we’ve adopted him.”

Then there was Dathan’s next choice of words. My pup? They struck him slightly, but not negative in the least. His tail gave a few wags and he smiled over at his friend, unable to be any happier than he already was. “Thanks Dath.”

A small, weak, but completely honest smile crossed the older wolf's face. He was glad the pup had decided to keep his little 'gift' until he was older and more mature. That meant he was already mature. Dathan felt prouder than ever before. "Ahhh, So I DO have a grandpup. Make me feel older, why don't you." He chuckled sticking a paw out and batted at Elements legs playfully. He couldn't be happier himself.

But, slowly, he knew he had to ask now, and only now would be the perfect time. His happiness escaped and he was covered in a sick sense of nervousness. What if the pup rejected what he asked? What if he was so appalled by it, he snarled, and walked off...What then?

Dathan was terrified, though nothing showed it but his eyes. There was still a weak and happy grin on his face, and some how, still a playfully look in his eyes. There was only a slight amount of fear showing.

Ew. Bad short post on my part, heh.

in this lifetime it better be the right time

“Oh come on. Can I really make you feel older than you already are?” He snapped right back playfully. He could see Dathan seemed proud of him, and that only made the Zeta beam all the more brighter. He respected Dathan to no end, so any pride the older wolf had in him truly meant something.

Dathan hadn’t ever met Kiriana before, had he? Element didn’t think so, and surely he would have responded to the name had he known her. “You have to meet them some day.” Element said. Truly, he wanted them to all meet. They were all the people who were important to him. “Akeboshi’s a great kid. Hell, he’s been through a lot but he’s still so bright. You’ve got to admire it.” Nature and fate had been cruel to so many, and even the young couldn’t escape some of the deepest pains. He knew that, and he knew Dathan understood too. “I really do want you to meet them though. Once your paw gets better I can take you up to Mount Shadow.”

Their conversation drifted slightly, but no discomfort came with it. At first, that was. Something changed with Dathan’s expression, and Element’s own features fell right alongside. His appearance sank slightly, a concerned look coming into the younger male’s eyes. “You okay Dath?”

This is REALLY emotional...

Image hosting by Photobucket

Dathan stood, taking up his full height, which was larger than Elements. He looked down at the pup, and his eyes seemed longing. He longed for what he knew he had to ask, but every fear and doubtful thought flooded into his mind. It flooded into him just as the river had into the Gold Moon Forest. And it hurt. It stung like nothing else. And he wanted to keel over and hide. He wanted to crawl into his den and never leave it again.

"Element..." He began in his deep, and serious tone. Some how, though, it was still soft and soothing, just as it was on the night that he and this pup had met. He remembered it all to well. "Do you remember the night we met, and the comment I made about you being like a son to me? Well..."

Dathan felt the fear start to bubble in him. It climbed in his mind and held a not in his throat and burnt his tongue. It hurt, that stinging fear, but he had to push on. He had to ask, and he had to ask now. If he didn't, it would never happen, and he'd watch the one thing he ever wanted to fall away from him in one instant, in a single heart beat, or the blink of an eye; One way or another, if he did not ask, it would be gone.

"I...I...." He groped around for the right words to use, the right way to put what he wanted. "I have though long and hard on what I am about to ask you. Don't be compelled to say 'yes'. Really...I just....feel it's right."

He swallowed hard one last time before he calmly (as calm as he could) asked the question. "Element. To me, you are a son, and I would want it no other way. Would you...allow me to adopt you as such?"

This was so unplanned, lol. I had no idea you'd do it. Oooo. *Pets Dathan*

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

Element kept his silvery gaze on Dathan, wondering what had suddenly prompted the shift in his mood. It hadn’t been something he had said, had it? He recalled any of the words he had just spoke, wondering what may have struck Dathan the wrong way. Nothing seemed uncalled for and he couldn’t place anything that had gone awry. So what had happened?

His smile had since faltered into a frown as he watched his friend move. Now the older males next move made him a little nervous, and as Dathan rose full in height Element picked himself up and stood too. Yes, the silvery male was larger than him by a good inch and a half at the shoulder, but Element paid little attention to that. He still had his gaze on Dathan, trying to meet his friend’s eyes and figure out what was going on. Just as Element was going to question again Dathan spoke, speaking the Zeta’s name in a more gruff but warm tone. There was no anger in the voice, no annoyance or anything along those lines. Instead of that Element almost felt like he could hear something dangling along the lines of nervousness. What was Dathan worrying about?

Perking his ears at the next words, Element nodded. “Yeah, of course.” His smile returned slightly, processing through the memories. No, that meeting hadn’t gone to well at first, but slowly as things progressed the two had become fast friends. “Yeah, I remember. But what about it…?” Where was Dathan trying to go with this? His brow furrowed as he continued, the words so far not coming together in a clear enough way for Element to understand off the bat. Ears perked, Element nodded slowly as Dathan spoke, waiting for him to come to the point. “Go on…”

Then there it was. Element was expressionless as the words registered to him, the dark male blinking absently as he stared forward at his friend. Adopt him? His jaw parted slightly, and for too long he was silent, shocked and amazed. “I…” his mouth shut, and he struggled to find the right words. “I…” again he was shut off by the own clamping of his jaws. Then, dimly but growing, a smile started to caress his features. “Aw, like I don’t see enough of you already he finally remarked, humor in his voice. “Dath, I’m shocked.” He laughed, shaking his head. “But… but yeah.” There, he had agreed. Grin returned, he returned his gaze to Dathan, briefly meeting his eyes as he awaited yet another reaction.

Dathan watched as Element seemed more shocked then ever before. He seemed almost scared, and all the fears Dathan had prier to his question started ramming at him again. Harder and harder as the pressure and silence began to build. It hurt, really, to listen to that sick and eerie silence.

When Element began to stammer, to stutter, to grope for words, Dathan lowered his head. He was about to speak, saying something about Element not needing to say yes, when Element started to speak. He listened to him, and something inside felt like it burst wide open. He felt a sudden relief in every part of his body, and he couldn’t help what he did next.

He stepped closer to Element and placed his head on the back of Elements neck, and pulled him close in a hug. He let out a soft noise that must have been a dry sob. He coughed a few times, and shut his eyes slowly. “My son…MY son…” He muttered over and over again.

Yeah yeah, Ayla loves the drama. xD There always seems to be something happening to poor Dathan, heh.

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

There had been a moment while Element was speaking (or at least stammering) where he could see the fear escalate in Dathan’s eyes and felt the guilt well in him for causing it. But all that had subsided now, and with a matching smile on both the two’s faces everything was okay again. In an act that surprised Element, Dathan drew close to him and rested his head behind his neck, pulling him closer with one paw. Besides the shocker of the actual gesture for a moment Element almost mentioned a warning to Dathan about his paw, but the words slipped away as he knew they weren’t needed.

The noise worried him slightly, and the Zeta inclined his head towards Dathan’s own silvery ruff, bumping him with his nose softly. As he stood there taking in the action and going through his thoughts, one stray line of memory came to him. What would Gahdel think? He blinked, wondering where it had come from and nearly jerking away as if the thought had been actual spoke words, and their speaker lay in the surroundings somewhere close by. But he knew it was just a thought, nothing more or nothing less, yet it still intrigued him. What would he think of this? Momentarily frowning, Element shook the concept away and turned his attention back to Dathan.

“Was that actually something affectionate coming from you?” Element mocked, throwing a look of fake surprise onto his face as he pulled back from the gesture. “I’m stunned and traumatized.” Actually, he really was; (stunned at least). The proposition seemed to have come out of nothing but the thin air around them for its timing and place. But either way, it worked out. “Does this mean I actually have to like you now? Great.” He was kidding again of course, the signs lucid on his face. For now, he wasn’t sure what else he knew how to say.

Dathan laughed at his pup. His pup...that felt nice. Really good, actually. To hear it, to say it, to even think it. It, it felt great. He was glad to have Element as his own now. You wouldn't think it of Dathan to have friends, let alone a son. But hey, look at this.

"Yep. Just like me. Grouchy, crippled, sarcastic, mean, mysterious. You know, the usual." He couldn't help but laugh at Element and himself. Element never missed a beat. Where ever there was room for a joke, a single crack, Element made one. And when there wasn't, he made one anyways.

Dathan suddenly felt weaker than he had before, and immediately laid himself down to try and rest. He shut his eyes hard. The nauseous feeling had come back, but it was not from nerves at all. He couldn't think of anything that would have caused it.

The only daring thing he had done lately was take a trip to White Rose lake. It was beautiful there. Truly amazing. The plants, the tree's, even the water sparkled! And oh, that water had tasted amazing. It had left a funny after taste, but it tasted good all the same.

He let out a low groan and swallowed hard to keep what ever was coming up down. Couldn't be throwing up on his new pup, now, could he?

Element chuckled as Dathan replied, shaking his head and half rolling his eyes at his words. “Grouchy, mean, sarcastic, crippled and mysterious…” he repeated, mocking Dathan’s words. “What an interesting mix, Dath. You know, I think I’ll just prefer to stick where I am now.” He offered a sly grin to him, leaning forward and bumping him on the shoulder. Joking came easy to Element. It tended to offer a more pleasurable edge, making things more fun and infinitely more interesting if the person he was with had a good sense of humor of their own.

He was still rather shocked about Dathan’s proposition – how suddenly it had come up and even more so how easily he’d accepted the idea. Dathan was like was one his best friends. Actually, he truly was one of his best friends, no doubt about it. But now he was something else too. A dark ear flicked in silence as he thought, gaze wandering elsewhere for a moment before being brought back to Dathan as he started to slump. Concern flooded back, and Element’s eyes narrowed as he watched him lower to the ground and shut his eyes. “Dath… you okay?” The question was followed by a groan, and immediately the Zeta lowered himself to his stomach, peering at the Fielder. “What’s wrong?”

I tried my best, Jen. I made this as best I could for my 100th post!

He listened as Element continued to mock him, and let a small, weak laugh escape his slender lips. "Oh? You don't want to be slick and cool like me? You're missing out, kid." He laughed again, but right after he had himself a small coughing fit. Not good. NOT GOOD!

He put his head on his paws, swallowing hard again. He felt hot. To hot. He let his tongue loll out of his mouth and started to pant. All the while, he kept his eyes shut. There it was again, the horrendous pain in his gut. He wanted to scream out in pain, to howl it all out, but was to proud to. He wouldn't show weakness. Not that much anyways.

He finally opened his eyes, still panting heavily when Element popped his question. That boy was always so concerned with everyone else. Some how, for some reason, that warmed Dathan's heart a little. The kid hardly thought of himself, everyone came first. It was a good trait to have.

"Just...a...little sick... he managed to cough out his words. He licked his lips and went back to panting, again shutting his eyes as a pain surged through his stomach. His eyes went wide, and no amount of swallowing would stop him from throwing up this time. It wasn't a lot, but none the less, it was vomit.

Quickly, Dathan dragged himself to his feet and stumbled about. He shook his head, coughed a few times and spat out the rest out. Finally, after a moment, he looked up at Element. He had started to pant again. "H--Hey, Kid...You...Should head home. I must be...coming down with something...Head home."

He quickly nudged Element then licked his shoulder. "Go on..." After a moment he turned his body around slowly, and started off for his den. Maybe he was just tired and needed some sleep? Maybe he was dehydrated? It had been warm? Maybe he was just simply sick? That itself was entirely possible.

He slowly walked himself down the hill from where he and his new son had talked, and made his way to his den. After only a few minutes, Dathan disappeared from view.
