Pack Meeting
With Sphinx's return to Silver Creek and Alphaship, now is a good time to have a pack meeting. This will be a brief meeting, and it will be non-mandatory though it is highly advised that everyone attend. We will not penalize anyone for choosing to sit out of this meeting, but we might just keep those of you who do attend in mind when promotion time rolls around again.
There will be no posting order, though I would like for the leaders – Goldenshadow, Takashi, and Charcoal – to reply first, if possible. :)
  --
There was an odd calm in the air tonight. Or maybe it was just her.
Stepping away from the shallow, trickling waters of the Creek, tiny crystalline droplets falling from her muzzle, the white wolf turned her eyes to the sky overhead. Dusk was upon the lands, and the waning light of the retiring sun warmed the skies with subtle tones of pink and gold while timid, uncertain stars twinkled dimly on the darker side of the horizon. The lands had fallen into a kind of stasis, the quiet, suspended pause between daytime and night when the creatures of daylight retired to bed and those of the darkness were just awakening. That was all nightfall was, really – an awakening. Life did not cease its constant motion when the sun fell behind the mountains; rather, it merely slipped into something more comfortable and carried on.
There was much on Sphinx's mind tonight. It had been four days since her return to the valley and Silver Creek, and it all felt strange and foreign to her. After living here almost an entire year, two months had changed her quite a lot and had put a great deal of distance between her and these lands, both physically and emotionally. This was not to say that she did not still love her lands and cherish those who dwelled within them, but standing here tonight she had never felt so alone in all of her life. There was just something about returning to a land you had never again expected to see that made the actual return itself so much more...awkward.
Expectably, however, she had been warmly received. Those she had seen since her return had greeted her with enthusiasm and welcome, and the mood around the lands in general seemed uplifted and excited. She was glad, and in spite of her detachment and uncertain feelings about coming back she was glad to be home again. Goldenshadow had even allowed her to re-take the Alphaship position alongside him, and for this the white wolf was immensely grateful. Kimoto had been thrilled and overjoyed beyond anything she ever expected, and thoughts of this alone were enough to make the entire journey back here worthwhile.
This was her pack, and she loved it.
There was still one thing yet to do, however. She needed to summon them, the pack in its entirety, and officially inform them of her return. They needed to know for sure – especially those who had joined after she left – that she was indeed back again, that it was not all just rumors. She was hesitant, though. Would they welcome her back as her friends had? Would their loyalty to Den make it impossible for them to accept her as co-Alpha? No, Sphinx knew her packmates better than that. Creek wolves were a special bunch, and she chided herself for even allowing such misgivings to cross her mind. She did wonder if they would even recognize her, though. She looked a great deal different than she had when she left. She had lost a significant amount of weight, and her coat was grizzled and dingy from months of rough travel. Time would repair these, but she hoped her pack would know their old Alphess when they saw her.
There was only one way to find out. Turning her face back toward the sky again, she opened her maw and sounded forth a summoning howl. It was one her pack had heard so many times before, and as her unmistakeable bell-like voice rang out into the sky, reverberating over the lands and echoing off the mountains, she did her best to fight off the doubts, the worries, and the misgivings that plagued her mind so.

A song came with the breeze, and lifting his head toward the sky, the large golden male smiled. It was a sound that was meant to echo across Silver Creek, and hearing it once again in its rightful place, made a tingle of joy run through him. There was no doubt that Sphinx's departure had caused a great deal of turbulence in the pack, but they had come through it well, stronger than before if that was possible, and Den was proud of them. Now that she had returned though, surely the group could only be better still. The happiness that the ivory wolfess' appearance had caused was immediately evident in those that had learned the news. Their queen had returned!
Rising to oversized paws, the young male set his path toward her location, glad that Sphinx had decided to formally announce herself. He had not felt it his place to do so, and had left it to the snowy Alpha to determine the best way to greet the wolves of the Creek again. He was sure that many of her old friends were already well aware of the news, but there were newer additions to the pack that would need explanation. And it would be an odd change for them perhaps. And in a way it was an odd change for him as well. If Sphinx was worried about their reception to her, Den was worried at how he would now be viewed. Would they see him as only a fill in, one who should step aside now that their rightful leader had returned? His heart had been stirred at the show of unity and loyalty that the group had shown him upon his ascension to Alpha, but how would they react now?
Sphinx had been quite gracious in her reappearance, never assuming that he would step aside for her, though Den could hardly imagine her as anything less than a queen. There was a battle raging inside of him as to where his place was. He'd been her devoted Beta for so long that it was hard to see himself as anything else when she stood before him. However, the sunkissed male had worked hard for the Creek, striving to be the best Alpha he could for those that looked to him for leadership, and part of him felt he had quite earned his place. Imagine the shock that he had felt upon discovering that Sphinx had actually looked to him to decide her own fate in the pack. There was no hesitation in his mind at restoring her position, and felt more than a little strange in finding it his right to award it.
As he arrived on the scene when the clouded wolfess awaited, Den found himself sighing at the mere sight of her. It was a sigh of contentment though, as though the world had been restored to how it should be. Reminded himself to stand tall, the sandy male approached her, a genuinely happy smile upon his face, and he bumped her on the shoulder lightly before settling in beside her... as an equal. Evenin Sphinx. Ya ready tah face tha masses?

Yay for Sphinx! Though oocly I'm dying, and... stuff. xx;
In Character
It had seemed a fairly long time ago that Charcoal had run across an oddly familiar, yet somehow distant scent in his amblings in the Creek territory. It had taken him a while to register it, but the gamma had finally accepted it to be the truth: Sphinx was back in town. He hadn't actually managed to see her, though he trusted that she would make herself known in time. It was an exciting and unexpected turn of events: Though she'd spoken of a return, who'd have expected it to be so fast? This was a blessing indeed, to have their founder back at the helm. It hadn't been the same without her.
A nagging inquiry in the gamma's head wondered along the lines of potential rank; he wouldn't be able to think of Sphinx as anything but pack alpha, and even though Den had taken the helm for so long he wasn't quite acclimatized to the shift. They'd think of something, he decided. No use him bothering about it all to much.
All would be made known in due time, and the time was due. Sphinx's unmistakable call rang clearly about the creek, just as in the first meet that Charcoal'd attended. Brown ears pricking up, he swiftly got to his feet and made towards the designated meeting place. Undeniably he was excited about the reunion, though this was thoughtfully masked, for he didn't know the agenda or tone this meet would take.
Homing in on the pair of alphas before him, Charcoal did a slight double take at the once pristine snowy female. She looked worn, and a little gaunt, but it was Sphinx, in the flesh. He couldn't restrain his grin any longer, and smiled broadly. The gamma trotted forward, dipping his head in a bow to both before reaching up and touching each gently on the muzzle - Sphinx first, as a gesture of welcoming, and then Den.
"You're back," he said redundantly, still somewhat in awe of the fact. Then he sat down beside them, intending to ask a question, but promptly realizing he'd too many. He kept his mouth shut, and finally looked away in ancipation of further arrivals - prior to this he'd still been looking at Sphinx, unfortunately slightly irreverently, as if she might disappear any moment.

Sorry for holding this up! >.<

Ears turned up at the most familiar sound, one he had been anticipating for a few days now. With his discovery of Sphinx’s return – due to discovering her scent trail purely by lucky – he had tried to spread the good news to those who would listen and anyone who might remember her. Thus far, all the reactions had been positive, even that of the packmates, Mars being one most prominent as he had been the last Takashi had told the news to recently. The two males had discussed on the topic of a possible pack meeting, and lo and behold, there was one being called for right now. With excited steps, he took off towards the calling, a smile ever present on his face as tongue lolled to the side and tag wagged all the way there.
As soon as he caught sight of the three wolves before him, male slowed his steps so as not to seem like an overgrown pup rushing in to tackle all three. The leaders were there already, and he was the last of the four. With a slight whine deep in his throat, Takashi approached Sphinx first, gingerly nudging the underside of her muzzle in a show of affection, extremely glad for her return. He looked up to her and would now continue to do so even after her absence. Though physically she looked tired and worn out from the months of travel, she had returned home and that was the most important thing of all. ”Welcome back.”
The two words were softly spoken before he moved on to greet his other comrades, Den first and Charcoal next. The gamma he hadn’t seen around recently, so it was good to find his friend good and well sitting beside the two alphas in his usual silent manner. Taking his place beside Charcoal, male looked to the three once more before turning to await the pack wolves to arrive. He wasn’t sure how some other wolves would feel – especially those who had never met their white alphess – but happiness and satisfaction glowed within, knowing all would be well, one way or another.

Hmm, -tries to keep track of IC posts.-
3 Houkie, I’m going to pretend like Wip didn’t find out in our other thread that she was talking to Sphinx. xD just so that she can be mortified. However, if it needs to be changed I can change it.

A certain uneasiness had settled in the pit of her stomach for the last few days. Sure, the gray female had enjoyed going over the Silver Creek lands immensely, gasping in delight at all of the tiny wonders it presented her with, and having a good time generally meeting her new pack mates. And yet, it did not come as a surprise to Wip that she was still nervous about meeting Sphinx. The whole alpha-meeting thing had never really been her forte, and she remembered with horror at the first time she had met Sinistra. She was surprised she had been able to get away unscathed physically, however, mentally her ego had suffered a terrible blow. However, she shrugged the thought off, thinking that perhaps it had been better to not waltz into the valley with all of the confidence in the world. It had given her a clean slate.
And so, when she heard the howl ring throughout the sky she let a subdued moan escape her lips. Perhaps she could pretend as if she were too deep in slumber to notice. Or, maybe she could run in the opposite direction, and pretend that she had been coming back from the Swamp or something. She shook her head at her childishness. Here it was, the opportunity to finally get it over with, and it wasn’t as if she were going to meet Sphinx one-on-one so there was the easier way out. Wip felt pressured to not act silly, she had heard many nice things about the alphess and she really didn’t want to fall below par. Besides, she knew that her friends would have a hard time forgiving her if she skipped out on this meeting. And so, reluctantly, she shook off the doubt and dust off of her fur and walk out of her den.
She padded softly, thinking that she had taken long enough to muster up the courage so perhaps the whole pack was already there. She could just slip in quietly, but to her disdain, once she walked into the clearing there were only four wolves there. Takashi, Charcoal, Den, and… Wip stopped in her tracks as she saw who she presumed to be Sphinx. This was the female she had met a couple of days ago. My name is Wip. Are you new to Silver Creek as well? Wip remembered in horror the question she had asked, and knew that she hadn’t needed to worry about embarrassing herself today because she had already done that the other night. She swallowed the lump in her throat as she smiled sheepishly, hoping that Sphinx was the only one who knew. Other than her that was. She nodded her head to her friends, and then bowed her head in a greeting to Den and the ashen Alphess. Oh boy.
Good Evening. I’ll take my poison now.

So I’m gone, but my spirit lives on! Nah, J/k. I typed this before I left and had Wip post it for me on my account so that I could be here for this! Sorry if it is a bit weird, I did it not knowing who would have posted before me. :) I’ll be around for round two, promise. |
| IN CHARACTER |
Alabaster ears swivled on an equally pale cranium as the female wolf picked up her head from the place it was laying in the deep summer grass. Tiamat had sprawled out before the entrance of her den some hours ago, simply enjoying the cool night air and the open terrain of her home, the creek. All was well with the world, she was back at the creek with her advisor rank, she had seen her friends, and as luck had it Sphinx had arrived at the creek only a week or so before Tiamat had. Things would go back to normal, life as good and happy again.
So when the summoning howl reached her resting place Tiamat smiled at the familiarity. Slowly she pulled herself to her paws, resisting the urge to call out in return to her alpha female. I’m coming. She thought before jumping into a quick pace. If she was lucky, and fast enough, she would be one of the first to arrive. Panting slightly she kicked up her pace and broke into a full long legged sprint across the area, hoping to make it in a timely fashion.
It did not take her long, it never had, to arrive at the side of her alphas. The leaders were there. Den, Sphinx, Takashi, and Charcoal. Merrily she danced into their vision, carrying herself as always - appropriate to her rank. It had changed since last time, but that did not mean her demeanor did. She was still a cheerful well marked creature. The only visible changes in her was that of the scarring that the bear had caused on her muzzle. Upon entering she strode toward Sphinx and Den.
A moment of hesitation came then, who to greet first? The one that had always been her alpha or the one that was newly so? It had always been traditional for her to touch her nose to their chin’s, but now a different path had to be taken. It was time to improvise. A shot two feet away from the alpha pair Tiamat halted and then dropped into a low bow before them. There, equal respect for both of them, given as it was due. A brief swipe of her tail was given, a signature of her friendly nature, before she moved beyond Charcoal and Takashi, greeting each male in turn with a dipped head and a brief nudge that acknowledged their ranks as well.
Having done the important part she came to sit down comfortably, chirping out “Hello y’all.” Before residing back into silence.

Starchaser Malachi d'Erom had been hunting, stalking a particularly oblivious hare through the shadows like a shadow. In all appearances, he looked like a border collie herding a rabbit-sized sheep back to the flock. But no human master directed his paws. Starchaser was a wolf, and wolf he would ever be, no matter how doggish his narrow muzzle or domestic his black and white patterns. His coiled muscles were about to spring alive when he heard the calling. Even as he jerked out of his hunter's poise and his prey fled, Starchaser's blood ran cold.
It was not GoldenShadow's voice on the air, the Sun King that the skywatcher admired and adored. But a different voice, one that had not graced the valley for months. But a voice he recognized from when the air blew it to his audits on Nova Mountain.
Sphinx. The white one. The white one.
And suddenly it all came back to him, the terror he had felt those dark months as he lay shiving and starving all alone. The sarcasm. The hate in Sinistra's eyes. Alone. Living without stars. Without joy. Without life. And he was so afraid, gut wrenchingly afraid, that GoldenShadow was gone and that he was doomed to be refused. To be thrown away. What would happen then? What would Sevgi do?
Sevgi. The ice in his veins cracked and warmed. His beautiful mate, his darling star. Thinking of her made fear impossible. Made terror unimportant. The kappa even smiled, forcing his paws to move forward at an easy lope. Den would protect him, that much Starchaser was sure of. Sevgi loved him, that much Starchaser was sure of. The prince was not alone.
When he stepped through the shadows and into the clearing, Starchaser's heart caught in his throat at the sight of the white one lounging so close to the gold. And then he saw who else had arrived. Wip. Tiamat. Takashi. His friends. And Charcoal, a wolf he did not truly know, but the one Wip loved. Tight, panicked muscles relaxed, eased by the presence of family. The prince's white-tipped tail wagged as he bowed to both alphas.
To Den he said: "Les étoiles ŕ toi. The stars to you. The prince used the familiar "toi" instead of the more formal, more distant "vous."
To Sphinx he said: "Et ŕ vous aussi. And to you also, lady." With another bow of his head to them both, he moved away, a smile and nod to Wip and Tiamat. He was too nervous to speak again and sat near enough to both to draw strength from their proximity, but far enough away for him to be able to keep a weather eye and nose out for his alabaster mate.

Out of Character I'm gonna do a little bit of assuming with Den, if that's okay. If not, I shall edit appropriately. :D Poor Temi, the sick little darling.
In Character It had been some time now since she had slept in her own den, but now as she rolled over, the smokey female had to think about where she was. This burrow was larger than hers--enough room for two, although hers was the only body present. The view out the door was familiar, and something in the back of her mind whispered--her fondest memory of that small circle of the outside world was while it was raining. In the air, a familiar musk hung in a way that stirred her heart. Ah, yes, Temi thought. Home.
Glancing around, the Iota assumed that her golden den-mate had just let her sleep--she hoped she hadn't kept him up with her hacking cough. Whatever bug she'd caught had started steadily eating her alive since the day Tia returned. As a rule, Artemis was always fairly healthy--but when she got sick, she got sick. Sigh. Now what had woken her? With some effort, vague waking thoughts were traced back to the bell-like summons. "Duty calls," she mumbled absently. The slightly thinner frame was laboriously dragged from its resting place and set into motion.
Dizzy at first, the disease-ridden femme made her way in the direction of the sound--or at least where she guessed it was coming from. She didn't bother to glance at her reflection in the creek as she passed since she already knew the verdit--she looked like hell. Clouded vision and stuffy nose made navigation more difficult, but it wasn't long before she came upon a group of wolves. She squinted, and there sat her beloved Den in all his glory--aside some scrawny white she-devil! Due to her illness, Artemis had practically been living under a rock for the last week, and therefore hadn't noticed the signs of the Alphess' return. And now the same culprit mixed her up even more. Dirty whore! And Den! How could he do this to her so soon after his spiel about wanting to run with her forever? Shocked and hurt blue-gray eyes flicked from emerald greens back to those of unmistakable turquoise--
And she quickly averted them. "Sphinx," the Lorekeeper blurted with a degree of surprise and relief, remembering all at once. Any negative expression instantly faded from her features. "Excuse me. It's good to see you've returned," she managed with a bow with ears flicked back, completely mortified. This sickness was certainly causing much more than irritating physical symptoms, it was toying with her mentality as well. She never would have flown off the handle like that in a healthy state. Moreover, she didn't want to be mad at Den--and for this, there was a non-verbal apology in her eyes as she extended the same bow to him. She dipped her head to the other two leaders--Taka, she recognized--and nodded to the rest who all seemed foreign, even though Temi knew she should know them. Terribly unnerving. Taking a seat at some distance from the two-toned male--she didn't want him to catch it--something teased her about him. A time of confusion, she thought. Small heroes to save us. What significance those statements held, the young gray had no idea. Fearful of what had befallen her, a slight look of fright was etched into her face, and she merely waited for it all to begin.

| Guardian. The word rolled off his tongue, and sent a pleasant feeling through him when he thought of it. It was like a giant neon arrow, flashing obnoxiously to point the way he should go. It was yet another title he could be proud of. He was Mars de Courir, the Theta and Guardian of Silver Creek. The thought of having a specific duty in his pack renewed his sense of purpose and his pride in himself. It was always nice to think someone wanted you around and valued your actions.
Soon, he thought, there might be another phrase to tack onto his introductions, something along the lines of "mate of" so-and-so, but that was at least a little ways off in the future. He hadn't even brought the topic up to that particular so-and-so. Really, he probably ought to work on that whole fear of rejection thing, but it's not as though you could practice telling someone you liked them in that way. Some day, though, he wanted to tell her and then just... see what happened from there.
Besides, things were a little hectic right now, weren't they? Sphinx was back, which was a big change for all of them. Idly, Mars wondered if the rest of his friends knew she had returned. And that, too, was a weird thought: he had friends, now, didn't he? Lasair was one, and Stratus Bliss, and Takashi, and maybe Charcoal and GoldenShadow. Unfortunately, he hadn't made much time for Den, Charcoal, and even Lasair lately--he'd been wrapped up in thoughts of Stratus and in meeting Sphinx again and with his new Guardian duties and digging his new den, and a lot of other things as well. Still, those were not reasons, per se, simply excuses. He ought to seek them out soon.
Or perhaps that wouldn't be necessary. As evening fell steadily around him, a howl came with it. It was as Mars had expected for four days now: Sphinx was calling the wolves to her, and Mars would go. He hoped to see everyone else there, too. So, thinking happy thoughts of reunion, Mars picked up his pace to a steady lope, and made his way towards the Creek, from whence the call had come. He'd only been wandering around a very short distance from the lands' namesake, so the travel was quick. When he spotted Charcoal, GoldenShadow, and Takashi already there, however, he figured they must have been closer than he, or more prepared to hear the alphaess's call.
It was strange, though, how when Sphinx had left they had all accepted Den as alpha with ease, likely assuming Sphinx would not return to the pack. Now, Mars wondered if everyone else was feeling the same thing he was: that since Sphinx had returned, Den wasn't exactly the same leader he had been. It was awkward, to say the least; it felt like Den had been a placeholder, or something like that, keeping Sphinx's position safe for her until she might return. Mars was guilty that he felt that way, but one couldn't help emotion, could they? Intellectually, he knew Den was a good Alpha, and that he had really had every right to refuse Sphinx her old position as leader. Mars had met wolves who would have done just that, and condemned a former leader to a position of Omega or, worse, simply send her away. But now the power balance in the pack felt slightly off. Was Den still Alpha? And who was "more" Alpha, Sphinx or Den? While personal friendship made him lean to loyalty to Den, Mars owed his place in the pack to Sphinx, and had been under her leadership for longer than he had been under Den's. And Sphinx had a mate, now, didn't she? The Kimoto fellow? Would he become Alpha now? Mars sighed, and decided to treat both Sphinx and Den as Alpha, and Taka and Charcoal as Gamma and Delta, since that was the best he could do at figuring out their places. Sphinx would likely answer all of their questions when they got there.
Mars arrived, then, in the rather intimidating presence of all four of the leaders, and offered a formal kind of bow to Sphinx and GoldenShadow. "Good evening," he said politely, and then decided that he didn't need to introduce himself just yet. After all, these four knew him, and not everyone else had arrived yet. Mars gave a quick lick to Sphinx and then Den's chin-- a mark of respect and of friendship-- before giving more subdued nods and a faint smile to each of the lesser-ranked leaders. "I hope you're all well.," he added, eying Sphinx's appearance moreso than the rest of them. She had been travelling, hadn't she? He didn't know how he hadn't noticed her appearance when they met before on Silent Moon Plateau. Then, though, his mind had been more on a meal than on her, so his unobservance wasn't a total surprise. To the other wolves in attendance, he gave a general nod and swept a smile towards them. As he didn't know them personally, he simply offered another, "good evening."
Greetings done, Mars took a seat near Takashi, whom he felt most comfortable with among the four. |

| Had a long break so it'll take me a couple days to get back in the swing of rping with dear ole' Kimoto, but I couldn't miss out on this meeting ^^, and poor Temi, was she the lucky one choosen? |

I'd been a couple days, yet the male, including his ever waking heart, was thriving with excitement. His beloved had returned, they'd exchanged plenty of greetings, kisses, and hugs, everything a perfect couple, one whom enjoyed and adored their time together, would do, and today he expected nothing but more good luck to turn up in his favor. Awarded the position of Epsilon, the male was gratious to his alpha, Den at the time, for awarding him for his hardwork, and now, with Silver Creek gaining their eldest alpha back, Sphinx, he was happy he'd stayed long enough to make up his mind. How in the world the thought of leaving had crossed his mind was beyond him, yet the male was glad that the winds had whispered good news of a certain someone returning loud enough for him to hear, and change his mind for deserting his pack members, and ubtaining his duties to the pack. With a sigh, a pep in his step, and a song in his heart, the awaking of his ears only broadened the smile on his face as he listened to Sphinx's call. No doubt she was issueing a meeting for those who hadn't heard of the good news, and Kimoto wanted nothing more than to be there, support her with her decision, and later on congradulate her further. Yep, with the announcement of becoming her mate, the male was forever happy, nothing could bring him down, and further more, he would, soon enough when the season allowed, become a father. What more could the Mexican ask for?
Hurrying to the clearing, azures studied the lined up, higher ranked wolves with pride. Silver Creek had to be one of the only pack that had almost all of it's highest ranks filled, meaning that not only were they hard working wolves, they were determined and loyal, not only to their alpha's, no matter who appointed, but also to their lands, and that could be detected in the way they acted let alone presented themselves. Thick paws bringing him closer to the waiting members, his heart skipped when azures once again gave a once over of his mate, no matter how dingy, she was beautiful in his eyes, and that was presented with the quick swaying of his tail, and the smile on his lips as he bowed to his higher few, gaze locked on Sphinx as he mouthed an 'I love you' before settling next toTaka, his bud apon the lands, eyes now traveling over the gathered few, and stopping at none other than Tiamat!? when the female returned he wasn't quite sure, but her presence was also welcoming, for she too was one of the original members to the Creek when Kimoto had joined, and though she held a higher rank at the time, he was sure, with time she'd climb the ranks and be suited with yet another higher one. "Good to be seeing you again Tiamat, I was afraid I wouldn't be seeing you returning" he whispered, winking a moment, and clearing his throat to acknowledge the waiting few now "Good evening everyone, nice night out is it not? I see the stars are blessing us with a show of it's own as they shower us with hope. I knew Silver Creek would eventually pull itself up, and now here we are, reunited with none other than the Sphinx herself. Welcome back! speech over, the male was soon silent, finally waiting for the others to return. |

Before the sweet call of Sphinx and her return, Sevgi had been fishing…more or less enjoying a swim, just before night fell upon the wolves land. Paddling carefree, she stared up at the darkening sky, now filled with colors matching that of the rainbow…but more importantly, she waited for the moon and her companion stars. She was 15 months old now, and still, she was in love. She never felt she would not be in love with the Prince. How could she not be? He was utterly perfect…ho she felt like a love-struck puppy, all lost and dazed, seeing hearts in the corners of her eyes…wait? What was that? A fish tail disappeared underneath her skinny white legs which were softly pulling her through the water. With a quick series of flips and wild dives, the squirming silvery fish was safely clamped between her jaws. Out of the water she came, shaking of droplets before she sat and devoured the creature. The fish, to her surprise had been fairly easy to catch…maybe it was old, and not as quick as the others, or maybe just sick? Who cares, she was hungry, and now she was fed.
It seemed that the moment the last bite of fish were in her mouth that, first off, she heard a sweet lullaby coaxing her across the lands, and secondly, a mild headache came and afflicted itself upon her. Ignoring the headache was easy, but the song? It was unnatural, she must be hallucinating! That was no call her sunkissed Den, but of the proud, snowy Sphinx! She was hallucinating…but no? She raced off without second thought of her fish, or her headache…this was to good to be true?! When had she returned, oh and Sevgi wanted to hear everything of her trip! Everything, truly everything! Sevgi had never been mad at sphinx for leaving, just curious and worried, that’s all…and of course, terribly distraught. Sphinx had been gone for what, three, four months? Enough time for Sevgi to grow up and find her love…she raced along, her slender, short legs carrying her far from where she was…why was she always in the most inconvenient spots when pack meetings were summoned?
Seemingly she arrived late. Truly, she had for she arrived just as Kimoto was giving a sweet little speech. Not her fault, she had been distracted…more or less frightened by a cluster of flowers. She had run full blown into them, and had to stop and smell their sweet perfume. They had looked like big colorful lilies, mixed in with other smaller daises…she really had no idea what they were, but they were pretty, and white, with pink dots and stripes running down their stiff petals…they were stargazer, but Sevgi wasn’t the most knowledgeable of flowers and plants. Anyway, upon arriving, she smelt Sphinx…so she was back! Then Takashi, Den, Temi, Kimoto, and most enjoyably, her dear starchaser! She pranced forward, just as the last words escaped kimoto’s tongue, and gave him a light bow, before going off to see starchaser, her mouth full of one beautiful Stargazer flower. She whispered to him "you beat me here, dear!” before steering her paws off toward Sphinx. She set the flower tenderly at her feet, before stepping back one or two steps, and bowing, a smile apparent on her face…it was a bit hard to smile now though, her head was truly pounding. She managed to welcome the Leader back though
She met Den’s eyes for a moment, smiling at him, before speaking"Good evening everyone, and Kimoto I am sorry to interrupt your speech. But, Sphinx! I am glad to see you well, and safe!” she softly sang, looking the much larger wolf than she over, as if checking her for scars or injuries. Still, she returned to her spot beside her dearest Starchaser, giving him a lick on the cheek. Oh, she loved him, and wanting to say something more to him, but finding it rude, what with all these leaders talking, she kept quiet, and merely sat close to him, taking comfort in his warmth…she had suddenly gone cold see, though she didn’t quite yet look as bad as Temi, her head was still throbbing a bit overdramatically. Licking her lips, she tried again to concentrate to the words of her leaders.

Howdy everybody! :D
In Character
Nose was in the air, raised in slight dignity. She was alone, and therefore had nothing to worry about. However, she almost yearned for a worry as her nose probed the warm air. With the sun steadily retreating back behind the shadows of the horizon, the air was beginning to cool down. Pads were finally getting a rest from the heat as she dipped each into the Creek's refreshing waters. Closing her eyes and inhaling the air, just enjoying the chill she managed to find a trace of life. Actually, there were several intriguing scents intermixed that she found worthwhile to investigate. The more reserved side of her mind was struggling with the lines to pull her back in, but the little bit of adventure she had left in her was urging her to go and meet these wolves, whether it be fellow packmates or neighbors. Packmates was what she hoped for, and given that she was well into her territory and the smell wasn't too terribly far off, there was a very good chance that's what she would get.
Stepping onto the bank and shaking, a reflex whenever she touched water really, 'Riel once again took in air and then set her course. Tail flagged parallel to the ground as she made her way in the direction of her point. Bathed in the warm colors of the evening, her ears caught an interesting sound. It was voices, she was never really used to gathers and wasn't expecting a huge outcome. Once her eyes conceived this group it was all she could do to keep her jaw from dropping. A small whine emitted and the taut strings the timid side of her mind had been tugging at for a while had now slackened up as she slowed down and began an inner debate as to what she should do.
One side said this: Andriel, you are now an official pack member, not a follower that never officially joined a pack. That was almost a year ago, you have to move on and get over your fears. And of course, the other side: Andriel, you don't have to meet these wolves in a group, they might not like you, it'd be easier to handle hostility, disagreement, or any uncomfortable moments one on one. You've never done anything like this, baby steps. Lips pursed and her shimmering sapphire optics drank in the scene. What to do, what to do. Sighing, one foot moved her stiff body forward, then the next, and the next. The movements were becoming less forced and she could only figure her mind had given in and her more adventurous side had won. Sitting at a comfortable distance, but still very clearly amongst this meeting in which she still didn't know the reason for. Ears twitched and she looked from one beast to the next. Hunching over, she kept herself in submission and spoke to the group with a slightly intimidated overtone in her generally passionate voice. Good evening, I'm Andriel.
The female only recognized one wolf from a previous encounter, the first wolf she had met in fact. However, her focus was not on dwelling on a past occurance, she wanted to keep her concentration on this gathering since she had heard nothing from anybody and entered on a pause. The subordinate figured they were either waiting for others to arrive or for instruction from whoever might be the leader or leaders.

Lovely posts by all of you, I'm very impressed. I'm going to go ahead and move us into the next round, but anyone who hasn't replied yet is more than welcome to jump in at any time. It's almost 5 a.m. as I finish this, so I apologize that the latter part of it is rushed. :)
Just as surely as the stars appeared surreptitiously in the slowly darkening sky above did her packmates emerge silently from the woods around her. The white wolf sat quietly, her tail wrapped neatly around her hindquarters as she waited. She seemed so small there in that clearing, frail and delicate as a single, lone winter flower still somehow still defiantly standing in the summer. It appeared that anything might knock her over, and yet her spirit was just as strong and rebellious as ever. That familiar fire blazed behind cool eyes of turquoise as the distant reverberations from her howl died out and she awaited the first responders to her call. Her wait would prove to be short, though, as usual. Creek wolves were always so prompt like that.
The first to arrive, his presence betrayed by a shifting ripple of gold beyond the trees, was the wolf to whom she owed everything, the wolf who had willingly taken reign of the pack upon her departure and graciously offered to share it upon her return. Goldenshadow himself, the magnificent golden king, approached her proudly and gave her a friendly bump on the shoulder as he drew near to her. Her eyes found his and lingered there, uncertainty clear in her gaze, and she somehow felt a little bit better about facing the rest of the pack with him alongside her. As he spoke his light-hearted words, she gave a small smile and a slightly nervous laugh. "Are the masses ready to face me?" She could not help the mischeif that crept into her grin for a moment – ever the confident one, she was. Even when she wasn't feeling particularly confident.
It was but a moment later when her other two fellow leaders, Takashi and Charcoal, came onto the scene. A warm smile lit up her features as she saw the familiar two, and her tail waved a few times across the ground where she sat. Trusty Charcoal, one of the Creek's original members and the finest medic its ranks had seen. And brave Takashi, who had fought alongside her in the Coyote Expedition and helped to win the valley back from the smaller canines. She could not think of a better pair to help lead the pack with herself and Goldenshadow, and she was glad to see them here tonight.
Then the rest of the pack trickled in one by one. First came Wip, who Sphinx had met a few days prior. Their meeting had been an interesting one, Sphinx concealing her name and the fact that she was an Alpha. She noticed the embarrassment obvious on Wip's face though, and flashed her a reassuring smile. She would not hold anything against the female – she had taken a liking for the good-natured female during their short meeting and had found the time spent with her nothing short of enjoyable. Next came Tiamat, who inspired another warm smile in the Alpha female. Sphinx did not know about Tiamat's leaving and returning to the valley, as the Advisor had left after Sphinx's departure. She was glad to see the good-natured female though, that was for sure.
Next there followed Starchaser, the strange canine she had met shortly before her departure. A convert from Nova Mountain's ranks, the half-dog, half-wolf hybrid had captured Sphinx with his politely chivalric manner and his obvious heart of gold, and though she did not know him very well, she was glad she had accepted his request to switch into the Creek's ranks. Next came Artemis, the Creek's resident Lorekeeper and, rumor had it, Goldenshadow's mate. She made a mental note to corner one of the two later and find out for sure. Her heart went out to Artemis though, for it seemed the female was rather sick.
Mars, Sevgi, and Andriel came afterward, all of them with proper greetings and an enthusiastic manner about them. Sphinx was shocked by Sevgi's size – the young pup had grown so much since they had last met. She was now a young adult, with a rank of her own, and from the looks of it, even a mate. Smiles and nods were given to all three of them before her eyes fell on Kimoto. Dear, brave Kimoto, her beloved mate and the entire reason behind her return to the Salvajes. She caught his bright blue eyes and held his gaze for a meaningful moment, so much emotion welling up behind her cool turquoise eyes. She smiled as she caught his silent I love you, glad that he was here and feeling even more confident.
No one else seemed to show up after that. Perhaps the rest had all been farther out in the valley, and hopefully they would be able to make it. Sphinx refused to allow her mind to consider any other more negative reasons why her packmates wouldn't show up. So far those who were here had seemed to accept her exceptionally well, and for this the white queen was grateful. Her eyes moved from face to face, never missing a detail, as she spoke finally. "Thank you for coming." It seemed a lame and awkward introduction, but necessary nonetheless. For it was a heartfelt thanks, and she did not take her pack's loyalty for granted. "As has probably become quite obvious to most of you, I have indeed returned to the Creek." Her voice grew with her confidence as she continued, her eyes continually darting from one wolf's face to the next. "Goldenshadow has graciously agreed to share Alphaship with me--" her eyes caught his for a brief moment before she gave him a pronounced nod of respect, "--so you will now answer to the both of us. We are equal in rank and to be equally respected, so I expect that he shall be shown no less than myself, and vice versa." Her words were authoritative, but gentle in their delivery. Never before had the white wolf's voice been so soft in a formal situation, and those who knew her were likely surprised by the difference. Time would change that soon enough. "My journey was a long and difficult one, and I have missed much in the last two months. If any of you wish to fill me in on anything, whether it be here or in private, it would be very appreciated." She gave a small toothy grin at this, feeling somewhat sheepish at her ignorance. Even though it couldn't be helped, it still felt silly and somewhat guiltful to be so ignorant in her own lands. Perhaps tonight some of that void could be filled.

-jumps in in the middle of the leaders- o:
I'VE BECOME SO NUMB, I CAN'T FEEL YOU THERE
She actually hadn't spent the past month inside Silver Creek borders, but out, in the wild, being along and solitary even though she knew that pack life was right for her. She needed to make sure- she had made far too many mistakes in her judgement, and had no idea whether joining Silver Creek was for the good or the bad. As she crossed some scent markings, her slim figure tingled. Home. She had come to the conclusion that the life of a loner was not the right type of life for her. She was fit to be someone who gave a group of close friends all that she had.
As she wandered around her packlands, she couldn't help but feel that it was strangely empty. What? She drew in a few quick breaths, tasting the air hesitantly. Though she could reconize the odor of a Silver Creek wolf, she couldn't exactly tell each individual member apart. Her heart skipped a beat- had she been away too long? It certainly seemed that way as she continued to float around, sharp green eyes looking around with a horribly worried expression. Nothing. Where in the world was everyone?
The smile that she had brought began to fade away as she searched for the wolves of her decided home. Soon, her attention was caught by a group of wolves. She cringed- so they were in a meeting. They had obviously started- she felt embarassed and lingered at the edge of the territory, debating whether to go ahead and join them or not. They probably wouldn't even miss her- she had met only two wolves here, and one of them she had met merely because she needed to be accepted.
Praying that they were more forgiving than her own pack, Vienna began to move closer to the group, and when she was in hearing range, she remained at the edge, lowering her body close to the floor with submission, tail flicking easily between her tail, eyes downcast. I'm sorry that I'm late- I hope I didn't miss much. were her quiet, respectful words. In a way, she was asking about the whole time-span that she had been away, but this didn't seem the right time. She looked down at the floor.

As he listened to Sphinx's calm explanation of the situation, Mars was proud to be from Silver Creek. He hadn't been there terribly long, but already it was taking up the mantle of "home" in his heart and mind. When he had first realized such he was distraught-- after all, prior to coming to the Salvajes he had known only his mother's large brood of kin and friends.
He worried that perhaps some other wolves would replace his family in his heart, but at last had decided that such a thing could never happen. His mother, father, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles-- they were all treasured wolves to him, and there they would all remain. He would simply expand his heart a little bit, to accomodate more. Stratus Bliss was one such, though Mars was worried after not seeing her at the meeting. Lasair, GoldenShadow, Charcoal, Takashi, Sphinx. They all would fit, easily, with room to spare. Even little Levi, the apparently-abandoned Mount Shadow pup, was making himself comfortable in the Theta's thoughts.
And that brought him to another topic altogether, one that had been coming up in his mind fairly often of late, ever since running across the youth. "Sphinx," he said, without preamble but with a gracious smile and respectful nod that thanked her for her attention and allowing them to speak. "I have a matter that I would like to ask your opinion of. It is not urgent, and is somewhat private. I'm not entirely certain of the details yet, but at some point in the near future I should like to address the issue with you. Will you be able to make time?" Not that he doubted that she would do so, but it was courteous to ask, and let her know that he would be approaching her at some point. It wouldn't be a complete surprise that way.
As to the matter spoken of, that was something Mars was only hoping for at the moment. He hadn't talked to Lev yet, and he hadn't been able to find Strat in the last day or two either. The latter was indeed growing more worrisome the more Mars thought of it. Where could she be?

Are we supposed to continue waiting for all of the leaders to reply each round or is that only for the first post? @.@; |
| IN CHARACTER |
Sphinx’s words prompted the correct instinct. Time to report. What could she tell the ivory alpha female? Thoughtfully she cocked her head, the advisor had missed almost as much as her alpha had. Frowning to herself at the lack of important things to speak of she finally resigned to giving out whatever small tid-bits of information that she could and, of course, an explanation as to why she had nothing else to offer. Rising to her feet to signal that she was going to speak she offered in her usual true cheerfull tones. “I’ve not got much to say, really, because I too took a brief..” The advisor’s words lapsed as she thought over what to call her small excursion “... search for someone dear to me. Before I left I heard that Sinistra, too, left the mountain with his mate in tow, but word has it he has returned to them again.”
Another brief pause came about. Was there anything to add? Looking over the gathering she realized there were a few amongst them that she did not recognize. Feeling it her duty she waved her tail a little bit and announced. “For those who don’t know me, I’m Tiamat - the advisor. Other than that, I can only really speak my heart - it is good to have you home again Sphinx, it is good to be home again, myself.” A warm little smile colored her features before she dropped back into an easy sit position, done with the brief speech for now. A simple nod was given to Sphinx and Den before she lapsed back into being still once more. It was hard to say if her words had been useful in any way. For all she knew Sphinx had already heard about Sinistra - but she guessed it could not hurt to say something about it.
Now interested in the happenings during her absense she perked up a little; hoping that her pack members might be forthcoming with more information. It was always good to be updated on the events in the valley. Silently she curled her soft ivory tail around her feet and swept a patient alert gaze across the crowd. The prior arrival of the wolf Vienna almost put them at a full pack. By the posture of Vienna she could only guess that the female was a subordinate; which ordinarily meant new to the pack. Everyone else she was fairly familiar with; excluding Andriel. The white female smelled new to Tiamat. It was good to know that the creek was still taking on new wolves - as always.

As such procedures usually went, more of the pack soon arrived, trickling in one by one as they heard the call and came to the meeting, ready to listen and comment. Except for Andriel – the scents upon the newcomer were light and so Takashi made a note to seek her out sometimes after the meeting and get to know one another better, perhaps – he knew every single wolf present, and that made him smile even wider at such knowledge that he had not neglected his fellow pack mates but rather made an attempt at getting to know them better and to meet them away from the formal business of meetings and hunts.
As Mars came to sit next to him, a friendly tap on the shoulder was an indication of hello and welcome. To those he could reach, Takashi nudged them amicably, and to those he could not, a grin and a nod of welcome. Many of the wolves in the Creek were mated, so he held no qualms about the couples sitting beside each other and watching as they glowed in the presence of their mates. Starchaser and Sevgi, Charcoal and Wip, Den and Temi – though the storyteller did seem more than a bit unwell, which concerned him greatly – and of course Kimoto and Sphinx.
It was good to hear Sphinx once again. Though he didn’t doubt Den’s capabilities one iota, that certain loyalty to the white female would always remain; she was one who brought him into this world of Silver Creek, allowed him to stay, and gave him the opportunity of a lifetime. That could not be easily taken away, especially now that he would consider this place home above all else.
As the meeting went on, he listened to the words of his packmates one by one, ears at attention. When asked about certain updates, he stepped up after Tiamat, also asking for a bit of Sphinx’s personal time to discuss more personal matters, as well as relaying what he knew about the pack and its neighbors in the span of her absence. ”If I may, I’d also like to request some personal time with you, Sphinx. As for other updates, the changing of packs from Gold Moon Forest to Strawberry Fields due to spring flooding would be a great change, no doubt. But some happiness in the midst of such sadness …” He looked around the couples, grinning from ear to ear. Surely they would announce it to everyone else at this meeting. He had some good news of his own to share as well … later.

Speedily the rest of Silver Creek began to fill in - Takashi came ahead of them and from his behaviour he'd alertly realized that Sphinx'd returned. Charcoal felt moderately ashamed and a little unworthy; he'd not been around enough to be paying attention to such matters. Likewise he couldn't share Takashi's sentiments of knowing all the members on a personal basis.
There were, of course, some that qualified. Charcoal smiled as Wip as she arrived, observing the mild shock and wondering why. Perhaps it was due to Sphinx's return as well. He shifted slightly to be next to her, though his gaze was now on the next newcomer, who wasn't new at all. Tiamat had returned! The number of white wolves was on the rise again. At the end there were four in total, though the last, an obvious new member of the pack, had oddly blue streaks. He peered at her, dimly reminded of Envy, and her brother. Strange colors, they'd had. But hers weren't the hidden, shimmering sort, so she probably wasn't a relation. The third ivorn female (they all had to be girls, did they) was also a slight surprise: Sevgi had certainly grown, and apparently had a mate to boot. Charcoal smiled bemusedly at the pair. Had he been around this long? The gamma felt old.
Mars, Kimoto and Artemis had arrived somewhere between the snowy lupines, and Temi caught his attention there. She looked thinner than normal, and was emanating strange emotions. Likely unwell, but this wasn't a normal cold. Desperation? He wasn't sure, but there was something strange about the pack story teller today.
Such a lot of things to catch up on, and people to talk to. It was a relief to the brown male when Sphinx continued to speak. Listening was the task of the moment, and the rest of the issues that were piling as he looked at the Creek's members were stacked neatly and put aside for a while. Co-alphaship: it sounded good to him. As for her question... Charcoal snuck a sidelong glance at Wip, and then waited for the rest to reply. Takashi's hint was evident - he nudged Wip's muzzle lightly, and looked to the leaders with a smlight smile.

Sphinx's reply came, and Den chuckled softly, shaking his head as though to say that they had best be ready if they knew what was good for them, and as he eased into a more comfortable position, the large male had not long to wait before the rest of the pack came trickling in - prompt as always. As each came, he watched them all closely for their reactions, the grin never leaving his face, and his eyes were alive with joy and pride. Was this not just how it should be?
He'd never imagined himself standing beside the ivory queen as an equal though when his paws first stepped upon Silver Creek lands. How things had changed for the young traveler. Here he was now helping to lead a large and healthy pack, and with a mate to boot. What other unforeseeable changes might come his way? Den's grin grew larger as Tiamat arrived, and sandy tail beat against the dirt behind him in greeting, his happiness rising again at the reminder of his friend's return, and it did not diminish as he nodded his head to the two-toned skywatcher that soon followed.
However, all traces of a smile fell away as a familiar (and yet somehow not) scent drifted to him, and he glanced up in time to see the fire that had leapt into Artemis' eyes as she made her way onto the scene. There was no mistaking the concern in his own emeralds as he watched his silver mate, a frown of worry etching itself onto his features. Temi had not felt well in some time, and the young Alpha had at first been sure it was just a summer cold that would not linger. However, with each passing day, she seemed to be behaving more strangely, sometimes saying or doing things that baffled him, and it was clear in her mere movements that she did not feel well. He'd done his best to care for her, or alternately give her space as she needed it, but nothing seemed to work particularly well. It was a constant seed of worry that sat in his stomach these days. This was not his Angel. But for the moment she seemed to have gathered herself, and so he gave her a wink and soft smile, intending to get her back to the den to rest as soon as the meeting was over. He'd had so much to do lately, but there was nothing more important than getting her healthy again.
The Creek pack continued to pour in, though a few were not to be seen before his co-leader began her speech. As Kimoto showed himself, a conversation the two males had had long ago popped into his mind, and suddenly he shot his earthy friend a large smile. He'd be able to show his love off to every corner of the packlands now. Sphinx's words were inspiring as they had always seemed to be, and at her confirmation of their shared responsibility, he returned her nod with a tight one of this own. The golden wolf was not sure just how the arrangement would work, but he knew they would do their best to manage it. As she called for information, Den let those others speak first who would do so. He would have plenty of time to catch her up later on one on one, and he was curious as to what rest would have to say. Few seemed eager to raise their voices just yet though, and so as Takashi ended, Den shot him an amused look before speaking.
Ya should be proud of all of em Sphinx. They've handled themselves well, n we couldn't ask fer a better group. There've been some ups n downs, but silver Creek is still strong. As Taka said, the Forest moved, n Midas n Rayen went before that. I hear Sinistra's back on tha Mountain though. A few changes here... a few comins and goins... and a few happy returns, he added glancing toward Tiamat and Sphinx herself. I think maybe there's a summer cold goin around. AND more'n a few pairins as I think Taka was tryin tah hint at. Bet ya can't guess who they are. As if it were not obvious.

Any lingering nervousness was instantly dispelled with the arrival of his One True Love. Reflected in Sevgi's eyes were all things good and beautiful and he blushed with pleasure when she turned her brown eyes on him. When she spoke, he listened, a silly, loving smile on his face. When she sat beside him after presenting the flower to the king and queen, he felt complete.
But he noticed the distance in her eyes and the chill that drove her to his warmth. For now, he would not think much of it and would not react more than to ease his body near her and press his devoted muzzle to her cheek. Starchaser's starlight, his beautiful starlight. In her presence, the light of all others grew sharper as if adoring her and bathing her in glow.
He listened patiently to them that spoke, woofing gently in welcome to Tiamat. The mongrel had missed his white friend deeply. Now that Starchaser had found a home and love, he felt he owed Tiamat Seabreeze his life. Or at least a paw and an ear. In reply to Den, he could not help but laugh, crystaline and joyful.
"The stars shine brightly-- there are nae great storms or droughts on the horizon." Of course he did not mention the strange prophecy he had revealed to Artemis Asteri only days before. Honestly, he had all but pushed it from his mind. He glanced at Sevgi. "And i suppose that Sevgi and I are one of the new pairings. I donnae know if I deserve her, but I thank my stars just the same."
Love!

Out of Character I'm here, I promise! *patpats Temi* It's terribly depressing to write like you're losing everything. XD
In Character As she waited, Artemis caught the look of concern from her beloved--her eyes weren't that far gone yet--and returned it with the best smile she could manage and a small tail wag. But those wild blue-grays could never be mastered, for they betrayed her wish to just curl up with him and sleep for a week. Den had done and continued to do his best with her, and she was thankful for that. It's torture to watch a loved one slowly deteriorate, she knew from first-hand experience. Though what that experience was eluded the young gray at the moment. Temi had her mental jaws clamped on these memories of the golden male--there was no way in hell she'd let herself forget. Deep down, she wouldn't admit feeling them slip between her teeth.
Just take me home, her eyes said before sliding to the ground. Just take me home.
Four more wolves followed her arrival, and the sickly female squinted at each one in turn. The first's name was lost among the disorganized files of her mind, but next came Sevgi, bright and cheerful as ever. The last was a snowy female as well, but no amount of squinting or blinking could remove the unnatural streaks of blue. What next? Would she imagine Den's coat to be purple?
The silvery canine found it difficult to pay attention to the meeting with her thoughts swimming around uncontrollably. She was the Lorekeeper, for crying out loud! She needed to be alert and attentive at times like these--this was Sphinx's triumphant return! But still, she was zoning out. Getting distracted was so irritating! It was as if the rebellious mind wouldn't obey its owner's commands. ...Now she was getting distracted with her irritation about being distracted. AUGH!
Bet ya can't guess who they are. An ebon-tipped ear flicked, catching Den's last warm-honey words, and Temi realized she'd entirely missed everything that had been said--although she had unknowingly sneezed just as mention of a "summer cold" came up. Hopefully there hadn't been anything important, like not to drink the water or something. Now what was Den talking about? She didn't have long to wonder before... Starchaser, right... clued her in. The Iota nodded and smiled her fond congratulations to the pair, not catching Charcoal's gesture. In her one moment of clarity for who knows how long, Temi delivered a grinning response matching Den's vague and playful comment, calmly and softly as always. "Really. I have no idea who they could be." She glanced at Den. Silver's taste for gold...
For a split second, she wondered how long it would be before she really did have no idea who they could be. She shook the thought from her head.

| HAHA! I made the ending date yay me. XD |

From the looks of things, it was gonna be a long night. Yet the male enjoyed these meetings, it was possibly the only thing that brought all the members of Silver Creek together as a whole, to discuss everything that was either bothering them, worrying them, or in his case, causing them happiness. Azures scanning each eagerly waiting face, he stopped momentarily on the likes of Tiamat and his lovely mate Sphinx. It was indeed a sad event when Tiamat and Silver Creeks leader had departed for a longer time than needed. In Sphinx's case, he understood, family -Legitament, was the most important thing, and when they called it was best to leave than seek out the outcomes later on, but Tiamat, he hadn't totally caught the story of her departure. He'd heard -quite a while back, of her sadness because of Ivan's departure, and that was when totally caos took in to effect. It seemed, when the ebon male departed, he took a plenty loyal wolf along with him, and looking at the physical stature of Tiamat, it seemed that she'd taken a mighty blow with the leaving of so many trusting friends. He too was in this situation, though he had chosen to stay, loyalty and bravery were the two things he had promised Sphinx long back when he was first accepted, and this promise he would keep, and he was glad to have Tiamat back, her happy spirit alone was to insure that the pack was progressing quite well. Sighing deeply, a small smile creeping to his maw as he watched his pack members, ears perked when he heard the authoritive voice of Sphinx. Ah, she was back.
The speech was full of nothing but business, yet Kimoto couldn't help noticing the difference in deliverence the female protrayed. Sure, Sphinx was, and always would be the strong independent wolf he'd fallen in love with, but it seemed, with time behind her, and an equally great pack, she'd grew slightly softer, almost as though the Creek was her baby, the members it's care takers and she and GoldenShadow the leaders, doing what ever possibly to see it progress to what it was now. Home. He knew she was proud, and he was proud of it's pair of gained alphas. What was better than having two great leaders to watch over the pack? Tail swaying behind him with glee, the male, proud to wear the title of Epsilon to his pack, allowed his ears to lower to his skull, before he too spoke "Seems Spring's cupid wasn't enough to bring the shield of love over our friends eyes. But it looks as if Summer's has, for pairs are running rampant through Silver Creek, I for one am proud to speak of one such happiness that Summers allowed me to have" he winked toward the white beauty whom had caught his eye since the acceptance of his lonely soul. What more could he ask for from a wonderful pack, great friends, and a beautiful mate? Life in the Creek was wonderful ^^ |

Haha, I made it! Lala!
The cold shudder was more like a warning or pain more than it was chills. She still shivered lightly though as she retreated thankfully to Starchaser’s wonderful side. Rubbing her muzzle into his shoulder affectionately, she smiled girlishly up to him, thanking him for making the odd feeling go away…ah, he could do anything for her, even make a sickness go away, hopefully. If anything she admired her prince beyond any of the wolves here. Sphinx and Goldensahdow were respected by her, and were like family…but still, Star-prince was her closest family now…how lucky for the stars! Her head gave a sudden throb, after Starchaser’s mild kiss to her, and sadly, she couldn’t help but wince quietly. Ah, dumb head colds.
Andriel, a wolfess unknown to her entered next, all pretty and white. Sevgi smiled at her, but was cut off by Sphinx. Turning her brown eyes from those of Starchaser and Andriel, she looked at the long lost queen…oh, how she had missed her. Sevgi just didn’t realize how much she had trusted and relied of Sphinx until after her return. A lot of things had happened since her departure, and not just in Sevgi’s world, but in the rest of the salvaje’s as well. Sevgi listened, always attentive and quiet, to the leaders speak. Tiamat first, who had been missing for a time. Mars, and Takashi. His words struck her with a bit of curiosity in tow. His eyes seemed to glint with some sort of unseen fantasy, or happiness…sure, Sevgi was one of the ‘happy’ things that had so happened within the pack during Sphinx’s departure, but still, that funny, yet happy glint in Takashi’s eyes made her wonder. Blinking with her headache over to him, she flashed him a curious look…oo, they needed to talk! Charcoal remained quiet, but nudged his bride. Actually, Wip? Sevig did a double take, not noticing her before! Wasn’t she of the mountain starchaser had so been thrown from?
But her dear brother, her dearest mentor in this circle spoke. He had some sort of command over every brain molecule of Sevgi’s. She soaked in his every word like a sponge…and of course, his Dear angel, the one that made his eyes sparkle with the same shine Sevgi’s own sparkled with when near starchaser. She gave Den a smile, her cheeks sending him love and congrates…oh, she was so happy for him, and everyone! But, her salty lover spoke, making her smile just hearing his voice. Though, his words were less than unnerving. What of these storms? For some reason, the seriousness in his voice made her uneasy, and(if it were possible) she pressed closer into him. Starchaser was being bothered by something, yet she couldn’t put a paw on it? But his words changed, to that of their pairing. His blue eyes melted into her own brown ones, but once again, his words were that of flattery and charmingness, and she had to blush. Yes, blush! Still, she licked his chin after he was done…oh; he need not worry about deserving her, she was happy to love him.
"oh, Sphinx it is lovely to have you back truly. And more close to home is my information. Love is truly a beautiful thing, and a growing trend in this pack, as you see! Oh, life couldn’t be happier here, at home…though tragedy elsewhere, and your departure and that of tiamats too was nothing short of depressing. But, yes, Starchaser-- " she turned her eyes back to him…
"I am more than proud to be yours, and I thank them too, the stars…funny how they work?" she said softly, as ever, pressing her nose against his cheek, again. Her head throbbed again, making her bend forward lightly in pain. Goodness, when would this leave? She glanced toward Artemis…was she coming down with what Den’s angel had? She looked simply sick!
" "

It seems life is just determined to make it impossible for me to reply to this pack meeting. D: Nevertheless, I have prevailed! Great job on Round 2, everyone. This won't go on too much longer – as I said, it's going to be brief – so within the next round or two we can start wrapping things up. :)
So far, everything seemed to be going as well as she had hoped. Everyone around her seemed to accept her with nods of approval, respectful words, and a general sense of unquestioning loyalty. All around her there were faces both young and old, light and dark, big and small...faces looking up to her as their leader now. Trust and admiration gleamed in their eyes as expectation lit their faces with curiosity. Ah, how she loved them all. Her pack, her family.
Several had given her brief snippets of what was going on around the lands. Some of it she already knew about – Gold Moon Forest's change of leadership and relocation to Strawberry Fields, Sinistra's departure from Nova Mountain (and now his return, as rumors had it). Fortunately, word of all this had already reached her ears. She was surprised, though, by Tiamat's mention of her own departure from the lands. What was this? Tiamat, who loved the Creek and her leaders with such tenacity and enthusiasm, had left the lands? Sphinx made a mental note to meet with the spirited wolfess sometime soon and learn more about her journey – if she was willing to tell, of course. What came as the biggest surprise in all of this though was...the fashion in which her packmates sat before her. In pairs! Or so it seemed. Indeed, as many of them hinted at or outright stated, there were a lot of mated pairs in the Creek's ranks now. Sphinx could not help the smile that took over her face as she observed them all – Sevgi and Starchaser, Goldenshadow and Artemis, Wip and Charcoal, and even herself and Kimoto.
And then there was business. A few – Takashi and Mars, specifically – who had requested private meetings with her. To each she nodded, giving a smile and replying, "Mars, it would be my pleasure. And I've always got time for you, Takashi. Any time either of you wishes to seek me out, I will never be too far away or too busy." To the rest of the pack she turned next, her expression turning to a more serious one and her tone following accordingly. The atmosphere was light and there was much cause for celebration and joy in the pack right now, but there was also something in the air that gave Sphinx reason to worry. "Thank you for the updates. They'll be helpful as I try to get a grasp on everything I have missed over the time I have been away." She paused for a moment as she pondered her next words. She had already noticed signs of it around the lands, even within her own ranks, and it made her uneasy. "Just so everyone is aware – while we are all here – there have been several reports of illness within the packs around the valley. I'm not sure if it's something we should be worried about, but if you notice your packmates falling ill, it would be a good idea to do what you can to avoid catching it yourself. I've heard it's a pretty nasty little bug." Her eyes fell momentarily on Artemis, feeling sorry for the female and hoping that her ailment would leave her soon. Her turquoise gaze did not linger long on Artemis though before moving back around the group, wondering what the others knew of this mysterious "cold" sweeping the valley.

It occured to Charcoal as he looked about that indeed most of the ranked wolves seemed to be in pairs, save Takashi, and perhaps Mars. Tiamat, too, but then again she'd just returned - Charcoal wasn't sure of her standing in the pack for now, but was sure it would raise with time until she was at her former status.
There wasn't very much by way of updates. The other packs had shifts in leaders as well, but the gamma had heard of these. Sinistra had returned not very long before Sphinx, and Midas and Rayen's disappearance was long a thing of the past. This thing about a mysterious disease was worrying, though. How was it spread? What exactly were the symptoms? A worried gaze at Sphinx confirmed his suspicions that Artemis might be one of those who'd contracted it, and Charcoal pawed at the ground once in mild agitation. He didn't really want to be a part of this, but somehow felt it was quite serious, and worthy of attention. Pity he had no idea where to start.
"I'll... look into that," the ex-medic murmured almost uncertainly in Sphinx's direction. Commitment could be a nasty thing. He was looking at Artemis, though, one ear flicked towards each of the two. She looked unnaturally tired, and yet he hadn't seen her up and about too much as of late: strange.

The look that Den gave him was a curious one but a gaze that was met with a silly smile. Yes, he was indeed happy for those who was one half of a pair, and while he was going about catching up with those he knew, it was a good thing to hear of the news that others offered to him. It warmed his heart, knowing he was trusted with such information, and that alone gave him the determination to continue doing what he had been doing. He supposed such a thing started after the coyote expedition, but that was just as well. Male had seen firsthand what had occurred and that only caused him to want to keep his friends close for fear of losing them needlessly.
As the white leader granted him private time with her, mottled tail wagged and he silently mouthed a word of thanks. Such a time would probably be sought out after the meeting to get some things out into the open, as well as to personally congratulate her on a few things as well. As far as the updates she requested, he was unsure of what Sphinx knew already, but it was best to relay the information just the same in case his assumption was incorrect. The changing of pack lands and leadership had been a big factor to most of the wolves in the valley, but what news directly involving those of the Creek had been the bonds formed here as mates. Den had outright spoken it aloud, and he chuckled at his friend’s straightforwardness. Others soon spoke up or moved to show an indication of their newly gained loved ones.
However, a more serious note took on the meeting, and he was immediately serious as ears sought to catch what he could about the “cold”. Takashi had seen a few of his friends falling ill and being a bit more than unwell. Temi had been another one on his list now recently observed, and it had began concerning him as it was not focused within one pack only, but the whole of the valley. It didn’t seem like much when only one or two had begun feeling ill – perhaps it had been the food or the environment at that one place – but now more and more wolves were feeling unwell. Along with Charcoal, he nodded his head and spoke up. ”I’ll see what I can find out as well.” Hopefully, it wouldn’t be anything serious.

For some reason her brain had decided to let up on the chaos it had been buzzing with lately. She had been feeling strange lately, ever since that meeting with Sinistra at the Lake, it wasn't exactly what he had said that had caused her mind to go into overdrive, but that night when she had lay next to Charcoal's sleeping body, she had gone to bed feeling...buzzy. She hadn't had the heart to wake him to tell him the news he most surely already knew, since she enjoyed for once cuddling up to his sleeping side since he usually pulled the late hours, and after that she hadn't gotten the mind to tell him. There had been the crazy meeting with Tiamat, Wip vaguely remembered their cool noses on her head, and then she remembered looking into the trees as she left them, and after that what had she done? She had traveled back to her den right? She assumed this, since she had no other answer to this.
However, the thought that this might somehow be attributed to some sickness seemed absured. She was sure she was merely stressed about...whatever she had to be stressed about and that if she was really sick everyone else would be able to notice. Wip looked down to the ground, to others it might look as if she were thinking of something, however, she was focusing on a rock, and enjoying how funny it looked for some reason, and would have begun to drool in her amusement had she not heard Charcoal speak beside her. She nodded towards him and then towards Chakr--Sphinx, damn it would be hard to remember that, sure she would tell her if she found any sign of sickness. Now where was that rock?

Out of Character I vote for Temi as Tragic Heroine of the Year. jk XD
In Character Really, what was happening to her? Unlike some others in the first stages of the mysterious illness, Artemis was acutely aware of its effect. It had started out like the flu, but no amount of nausea had ever robbed the silver femme of even a speck of her impeccable memory. She had a mind like a steel trap, only now it was more like a steel sieve. Her thoughts were flighty and disconnected, unable to be pinned down for more than a second. The Iota was always a little dizzy now, as if from chasing her thoughts in circles, and of course, there was the persistent headache. One of the last actually aware internal voices whispered, This isn't a summer cold.
Suddenly feeling eyes upon her, Temi realized conversation had taken a turn toward her indirectly. Gazes of all colors glanced in her direction at the illness' mention, and her charcoal nose chimed in with an obliging sneeze. The Lorekeeper was the most obvious manifestation so far, after all. Pity was the general expression, and she didn't want it. She wasn't dying--well, she hoped she wasn't. The gray yearling wasn't done with living yet. No, she wasn't dying; she just had a nasty bug, as Sphinx had put it. A nasty bug that was like a cockroach when it came to squishing--it continued do run with no head.
No one seemed to know much about this "summer cold" except those who had contracted it and knew they had, and Artemis was seemingly the only one. An internal stomp. The stricken female trapped that thought under a mental paw, knowing this may be the last time she'd catch it and had better make use of it now. Who knew when she'd be aware enough again? "It starts like the flu," the young gray began, a slight hoarseness creeping into her soft voice. "Then the flu goes away, but you still can't think straight and you sort of get lost. Watch out for it," she pleaded sincerely, looking around the group. Who might already be infected? For the first time, Temi noticed the lack of pups at this meeting. Normally, at least one or two would arrive with the adults. But if the "cold" was becoming as widespread as Sphinx suggested, there were other little ones to think about. "I think it would be best for the sick ones to keep away from the pups. There's no telling how much worse the little ones might get." Anyone who really knew her would know this was a painful statement. It saddened Temi to think she had to keep away from her beloved young'uns--they were the best listeners when stories were concerned. But then another thought crossed her mind. "Actually, it might be better if the pups were kept away from the ill. The sick might... forget." She was sure of that.

Tiamat shifted her weight uneasily at the mention of a sickness, the lands had not smelled right for several days as well. She had become choosy with her food, making certain that none of it behaved strangely. Not a few days before she had found a completely uninjured bunny that would not run from her. The queerness of the entire incident had frightened the white advisor and she had turned down that dinner to find something that was healthier, or at least acted like it. Her dark blue eyes shifted easily over the gathering of wolves, Artemis was the last to speak, but Tiamat was distracted by Wip -- who was staring at the ground rather oddly.
Worried she flickered her attention to the Lorekeeper. At the female’s words it was obvious she was one of the ill, no doubt about it. Though it was extremely important to keep the healthy wolves healthy the sick ones could not be left unattended. Deciding it was time to pipe up and say something on the matter the advisor spoke her thoughts. "And.. perhaps we might keep an eye on the ill? Make sure that they are well enough to hunt and care for themselves? Perhaps even to make sure they don’t do anything they shouldn’t in case things get bad... It might also be a good idea to know who is sick and who is not, that way we might discover how this mysterious disease spreads." Frowning she looked to Sphinx and then Den, wondering what they thought of this plan. |

Mars was happy that Sphinx would give a bit of time to him; it was good to know that she could make time for her wolves even though she was no doubt busy with other things. A slow wag of his tail acknowledged her comment to he and Takashi, whose business Mars found himself curious about as well. He glanced curiously over at his newest friend and quirked an eyebrow, but expected no response--after all, they were all listening to Sphinx now. He could ask Taka later.
An illness, hm? Yes, he thought, glancing critically at the ragged-looking she-wolf that Den had given a concerned look to earlier. For a moment he wondered if they were mates, and decided that it was more likely that not. Everyone had a mate these days. It seemed, though, that the female whose name he didn't know was fairly sickly herself. Mars listened as some of the attendees addressed the matter of the illness, and found himself nodding at several suggestions. One thing was certain: it needed to be contained as best as possible until its source could be determined. He could help with that, couldn't he?
He slipped his comment in when a moment of silence fell. "I shall keep a close eye on the borders. Should anyone seem out of sorts... well, I won't let them in. And..." he eyed Artemis again. "If any of you all get sick, it would probably be best to stay in the packlacks, too. To keep it from spreading until we can find a cure."
