In this thread, Cep's minor illness has progressed into serious illness. So, be ready for craziness.

No longer did she possess any sort of grasp on what was happening to her, or what had caused it – not that she had ever been able to identify a purpose, not even a day or two ago, back when her mind was functioning at least a bit normally. Now she simply existed without a real idea of why she did things or why the world was spinning in the way it was. Literally spinning – a rather intense state of dizziness had washed over her not more than a few minutes ago. However, perhaps it is best to first evaluate on just why a severely sick wolf would have even bothered to leave home, let alone decide to come to a place that she considered to be so wretched – none other than the Forbidden Swamp. In truth, it had been less of a decision than a pure impulse, if it could even be considered that. She was completely discombobulated and had simply hobbled this far, without a real grasp on where she was going or why she was doing so.

Indeed, a general lack of proper sanity had been induced by this sickness. Then again, it was barely possible for her to acknowledge it as a sickness. She was hardly capable of noticing it, unlike the state she had been in until this morning. Of course, as anyone so severely sick but not one hundred percent thoughtless would, she realized that something was wrong. The problem was that her memory had become quite faulty. She wasn't starting to remember things incorrectly or 'remember' things that had never actually happened - no, in truth, she had skipped that stage of memory loss completely, if it even existed as a stage. Through a gradual but somewhat short process, she had gone from being weirded out but generally able to think to...being hardly capable of thinking and not able to wrack through her memories at all. Lack of thoughts and lack of real memory added up to one important but unpleasant thing: insanity. So here she was, in the swamp, for no reason other than illness.

This should be fun. :)
________________________

Caught in the conflicting pools of pure ice blue a lone figure in the middle of the desolate and down-right dangerous Forbidden Swamp piqued the pale wolfess’ attentions. There was a vague air of familiarity about her, but in the same instance the very sight of the dark pelted female caused unease to stir in Siaqi’s belly. Something wasn’t quite right. After a lengthy time simply observing the other, in the sly distance, the Beta Female finally encouraged her limbs into a cautious motion across the Swamp bed.

Patches of tall reed grass would sway in her way or catch her unawares as it tickled along her flank, causing her nares to flare with an indignant snort to reprimand the natural annoyance for keeping her on edge. And occasionally the flat of her paws would begin to sink in deceiving pools of sand or water, the sludge constantly trying to suck her downwards into a watery grave. Only the backward suction of Siaqi reclaiming her paws filled the air as a verbal disappointment to the swamp itself.

Eventually, the somewhat on edge Novian drew close to the forefront of the other. It was then she realise why there had been an air of familiarity about her – it was Deception! Of the Forest, or now Fields. Lowering her headpiece to a tilt so she could better see the face of the Fielder, Siaqi gently asked, "Cep, are you okay?" Pretty sure she already knew the answer.

She continued to walk, although her so-called walking was more like stumbling, tripping over small objects that she normally would have been looking out for: roots, stones, and somehow she even managed to nearly step on a frog before it realized what was going on and quickly got away. That terrible thing was still happening, and the 'terrible thing' was her utter lack of real consciousness. Of course, she was awake, but not much of a difference would be made if she suddenly collapsed and fell asleep. After all, she didn't have a grasp on where she was going or why she was here, and she was really quite oblivious to most aspects of the world around her. She could hear most things, and see just about everything - although her vision was considerably blurrier - but it just didn't connect in her mind to really form a typical, wolven awareness of her surroundings. And, despite all of this, she had never been able to figure out why it was going on. Now she was beyond the point where she may have been able to discover it - she lacked the focus and thoughtfulness.

She could sense that someone was coming - perhaps that was a good thing...she was still aware enough of the events occurring that she couldn't possibly be considered to have completely numb senses. Then again, an approaching wolf - if it was indeed a wolf - was often an obvious event to anyone of the same species. It didn't necessarily mean that her condition was any better, although the tiny portion of her mind that still had an ounce of sense liked to think that it was a good thing. However, the mental confusion that had come with the illness kept her from analyzing the situation - and the sickness - any more than she already had.

She slowed down, glancing around more warily, but found it impossible to really see anything due to her dizziness. It was then that she heard a voice, and she only had to turn her head slightly to see its owner. The speaker appeared as not much more than a whitish blur, as she had approached on Cep's blind side. The raven-furred female turned to the right slightly so that she could actually see the approacher, who had addressed her and asked if she was all right. Somehow, this female knew her name, and although Deception tried to remember who she was, her memory failed her - doubtlessly because of the illness. "Not...necessarily okay..." she said, voice drifting off every so often during the short segment of words, "Who...who are you?"

Sorry for the delay. Job hunting eats up all of my time as of late. :|

With most wolves that had an acquaintance with each other – no matter how vague – more often than not there would be a spark of recognition in their eyes upon the others arrival: be it positive or negative. Siaqi, however, noticed that as that black headpiece twisted toward her, the flash of golden eyes showed no hint of never having seen the ivory female to begin with and to say that was disconcerting in any event was an understatement.

"Not...necessarily okay..." Siaqi nodded, flashing her drama blues across the female’s bodice in attempt to try and assess what might be wrong with her. She was no medic that was for sure, but the Novian wasn’t about to just hang around without trying to help someway or another. The distant speech of the Fielder once again intoned and Siaqi wavered her eyes back up to those golden ones in consequence. "Who...who are you?"

The query alone confirmed what Siaqi had been fearing from the beginning of this meeting, but at least Deception was brave enough to address the issue instead of just muddling through, feeling foolish simply because the lighter she-wolf knew of her identity. Shifting a touch, spreading her weight a little more evenly across her paws, Siaqi wagged her tail in a friendly manner and smiled with that emotion, trying desperately to hide the vivid concern from her facial features. "It’s Siaqi, from Nova Mountain. We met, not so long ago at Silent Moon Plateau. I’d hurt my leg and you helped."

She paused, noting the eerie parallels this was drawing on to Tobin’s condition. "I’m going to try and help you. Somehow. Is that okay?"

There was no room for her to be impatient during her wait for a response; in truth, there wasn't any room for her to be patient, either. She was more or less devoid of quite a few of the emotions and mental ideas that she would have had on a regular day. Today, the sickness was indeed nearing its peak, whether she noticed it or not - which, of course, she didn't, at least not at the moment. It would probably take a month to a month and a half for her to regain a grasp on everything that was happening to her - unfortunately, her lack of optimism or pessimism made that yet another thing that she was incapable of realizing.

Although her vision wasn't the best it could possibly be - and it hadn't been for a long time, taking into consideration the fact that her right eye had no sight - she was able to see that the ivory female had nodded in response to the first portion of her words. Large, significant motions such as a head movement or walking hadn't been made difficult to see by the illness, but smaller things such as blinking and breathing were close to impossible with this blurred vision.

As she observed the general friendliness of the ivory female, Cep vaguely wondered if she was surprised by the darker wolf's behavior or if she had encountered other sick beings already. However, due to her low levels of focus, the thought quickly disappeared from her mind. She heard the other's voice, saying that she was called Siaqi and that they had met before, and after a brief pause, stated that she would try to help Cep. 'It's strange...I don't remember you at all...I don't remember anyone..." the obsidian 'Fielder said groggily, "But, yes, please try to help..." Her already unstable voice then drifted off.

OOC: Heya. ^^ Mind if I join?

IC:

Once again, the swamp had beckoned with its eerie call for the timber wolf to return. Return to its wiry, sticky grasp and to feed its insatiable hunger for the unknown, ignorant that it itself was a mystery. The plains of sticky goo and ominous trees had always been less than inviting for this particular soul. He had enough appearance problems, and adding caked mud and sharp thorns to tangle in his pelt was just too much to bear. However, just as the moon pleads for a song from its precious children, so did the swamp beg for audience with him. And he, a being of respect and gentleness, could not deny such callings. He would come for curiosities sake to see just what this swamp wanted from him.

The lone soul could be described, in mortal terms, as a scruffy, tall male with a gunmetal gray pelt and hair that looked like twisted, fuzzy concrete. He had yet to succeed in his growing battle against inappropriate fur styling, but every time he tried to chew them out, he ended up with an embarrassing bald spot and sore skin. He would have to get someone else to help him with that… Though the Strawberry Fields pack seemed pretty secluded to themselves, acting as very private creatures. The long legs of the timber wolf were very useful in navigating the treacherous terrain, large paws guiding him as if they had a life of their own, each step calculated and performed with confidence that he wouldn’t drown in the many pits of quicksand. His large puppy-like ears were flared atop his head for anything interesting, anything that the swamp wished to reveal to him. Even his tail did its part, though looking more like a fuzzy piece of rope than a tail, leveled out with his spine so that he would not lose his balance. From island to island, he maneuvered the tree-topped sprouts of earth, the shining gold of his eyes piercing through the dank, dark scenery.

With such a cool-colored surrounding, it was no wonder the knightly wolf caught a flash of blinding white. A speck of hope, he may call it. Like a moth to a flame, the ratty male adjusted his course and headed for where he had seen the snowy puff. Though ratty he may be, and not exactly looking attractive in his current furry condition, the male was of a perfectly reasonable build and with enough size to reconfirm that he was indeed a male. As his paws, not trying too hard to be silent, crept up to the gentle glow of white, the big Gray poked his head through the twisted, up heaved roots of a tree and scanned the little scene through twin suns.

The white had been a female lupine, standing out quite beautifully in the dark atmosphere. She wore a look of hidden concern for another soul before her, a black female who looked a little under the weather. With a pang of concern, the gunmetal lupine pushed past the roots of the trees to greet them and assess the situation further. His voice carried out with a hushed tone for respect of the quiet swamp, yet held in its bass ring a notion of worry. “Ladies, good day to you both. Is there… something wrong?”

Not at all. :D
________________________

”I don’t remember anyone.” It was those words themselves that struck an unnerving fear within Siaqi’s heart, the feelings of déjà vu redoubling on the female as every second passed. However, grateful Deception had realised despite the fact that she didn’t recall Siaqi from any place within her memory, Siaqi’s intentions where good and she was going to allow her to help her. That in itself was to poise numerous new problems.

For one, Siaqi didn’t have any medic expertise whatsoever, besides a few basic things that she had had to learn when survival and fighting had comprised everything in her life. Yet, Cep was not physically injured – at least not yet – so any knowledge the Novian Beta had, wasn’t going to be much use. Also, since her lack of knowledge in this area, it would have been best to find someone that knew how to help Deception… but, Siaqi couldn’t just leave her now could she?

"Your going to be okay, Cep. I promise." And it was said with such comforting conviction that Siaqi almost believed them herself, despite her sudden inner turmoil that was kept under wraps from her companion – albeit Siaqi was sure she wouldn’t have noticed too much, even if she hadn’t.

And yet, for once in their entire existence, the fates had actually done something useful. As Siaqi was beginning to assess what had to be done – whether it be staying here and making sure Cep did no damage to herself and was otherwise comfortable or go get someone who had an idea of what was happening – another wolf came onto the scene. Honestly, the female had never been more grateful in her entire life than she was to see that gunmetal male standing before the pair.

Her headpiece moved toward him, so she could speak in hushed tones to the Fielder. "Deception’s not well. She can’t remember anything and she doesn’t look too good either, to be honest." She looked frantically toward the other female before adding, "I have some Medic experience, but nothing that would help Cep in this instance. Do you know of anything that could help? Or even what might be wrong with her in the first place?"

The more the merrier. :D

The world seemed to be spinning, and as she had just been unfortunate enough to discover, this effect of the illness got quite a lot worse when she actually stood still - such as now. When she had been walking - if such a clumsy and non-coordinated action could even be considered a thing like that - there had been plenty of other things to concentrate on, such as the way the wind moved through her fur and not tripping and falling into murky swamp water. The former hadn't necessarily been something that she had been thinking about, as she hadn't been thinking about anything, but she had noticed it. Some habits never really changed. Besides, since it was fairly dark and spooky here, it was impossible to take note of beautiful things, like nature and the sun, especially considering her current levels if focus. The latter was pretty important, but a mission to achieve a lack of tumbling would be an impossible one. Thankfully, she hadn't achieved any real injuries yet today, despite the trip-filled trek to the Swamp.

She nodded, a slight and hardly noticeable expression of hope shining in her eyes, which were preoccupied with darting everywhere in search of a nonexistent enemy, as the ivory female stated that she would be all right. On any other day, she would have strongly doubted that an illness like this one could really be healed after only a few days - this seemed like the sort of disease that would stick with her for a while. However, her current mental state led her to have a heightened level of confidence in the promise. She truly did believe - or perhaps it was just blind hope - that this would all end soon.

She was aware of another presence, which soon revealed itself in the form of a scruffy-pelted male who quickly asked if something was amiss. Thankfully, there wasn't a need for the discombobulated female to say anything, as Siaqi proceeded to explain the problem and the issues currently involved with subduing it.

The ashen male’s frown only deepened at the frantic tone of the ivory fae, the aura of the situation only rising within his mind. Not much could worry a wolf to this extent, and it almost scared him to find out just what it was. His attention turned from the first female and onto the second as he listened to her every word, gold eyes narrowing on the charcoal spirit. She certainly didn’t look well, and her lack of answering to his call only worried him more. His black nose gave a low, long sniff to filter in the scents, picking through them all for the ones he was looking for. Through the stench of the swamp and muddy water and other forest life, until he finally came to what he needed.

The ivory femme smelled of pure snow, cold and untainted with a hint of cold granite. Another Novian. He had met so many Nova Mountain wolves lately, which was sad to say when he hadn’t seen hide nor hair of anyone from his own pack. Acknowledging her identity, Raynis turned to the other scent, the one of the sickly female. The first thing that hit him was a strong scent of strawberries. Well, scratch that comment about not meeting others of his pack. He had just found one. And, mixed with her scent, he could smell a certain undertone of… corruptness. Something that ate and ate with a bubbly green aura. A sickly smell.

The timber wolf resisted the urge to shake his head of the smell. He didn’t want to offend either of them by his actions, so he simply stood his ground and turned his sunlight gaze back to the white femme. “I believe she is sick, miss…?”

He trailed off at the sudden discover that he didn’t know either of these ladies’ names. Introductions were always important to him. He didn’t like always referring to others by their gender and pelt hue. However, this was no time for such formalities. A life could be at stake. So, before the white wolf could worry about revealing her name, Raynis continued. “I have no medical experience, so I am at a loss as to what to do… However, I do know that this swamp is no place for anyone to get sick in. It’s dangerous as it is. It would be best that we move her.”

Long legs strode forth to the sable lupine, passing her before turning smoothly to come to her side. His ears flared to her as he peered down, hoping his presence would give her some kind of comfort. In a quiet tone, he spoke out softly to the dizzy fae. “Can you move? You can’t stay here and hope you’ll get better.”

The question was not that they had to move her – that in itself seemed as obvious as saying the sky was blue – but to where they should move her to? Already Siaqi was at such a loss for what to do – accentuated by the revelation that this male had no medic experience either – but what offered her a simple comfort at this time was that two heads where always said to be better than one. Three even, if Cep could keep her mind in a… sane (for lack of a better term) state for long enough.

Nevertheless, the male seemed eager to get going but the lightest hue of them all was still doubtful about the re-location and if Cep would be able to make it that far. How she hadn’t fallen into a pit of swamp-goo already was amazing enough and Siaqi was keen to keep it that way. "Move her to where though?" She queried, feeling a thread of desperation leaking into her voice.

"If you could make it that far, the edges of the Swamp would a lot safer than standing in the middle... and then figure out what to do from there?"

If it hadn't been for her weakened condition, Deception would have nearly smiled at the sound of the male inquiring, the question directed at the ivory wolf, as to whether the obsidian one was sick. It was obvious enough that she assumed he would have known it by now - after all, it wasn't every day that one stumbled across another simply standing around idly with a blank and numb facial expression. At least he actually bothered to confirm the situation before jumping to conclusions - a feeling of thoughtless irritability was quickly adding itself on to Deception's other symptoms. Thankfully, these two were kind and seemed to always think before speaking, so that temperamental condition would almost certainly not get a chance to be put into action, unless the insanity got worse and she started to experience mood swings. Hm, her mood had never really swung so suddenly before...ohforgodssake focus! she told herself suddenly. It was miraculous enough that she had been able to think straight for a split second. Her condition seemed to be an on-and-off sort of thing; terrible one minute, waning the next, then terrible again.

The male proceeded to explain that he completely lacked medical experience, but pointed out that Cep would be better off elsewhere. Before she was given a long enough chance to reply - which took longer than usual due to her general lack of focus - Siaqi spoke, stating that the best thing to do would be to exit the swamp, if possible. "Yes, I can move," Cep said, "I think...as you both said...it's best to get out of here...and I...I think I can make it home after that." Home. It was the one place where she truly wanted to be right now. She wanted to make it back to the 'Fields, to sleep, to hope that she would be better when she woke up tomorrow, as unlikely as it was. If she had made it all the way out here, she assumed that she could make it back just as easily.

OOC: Please excuse my suck-tastic post… I just got out of teeth surgery, and I’m all loopy. ><;;

IC:

Raynis was not some air-headed wolf. Yes, he may act out of the ordinary of lupine terms, but he was far from ill-informed. This had been the first sign of a sickness he had seen in these new lands, so therefore wasn't going to automatically catch on to what it really was. Disease was rare for him, especially from his past travelers.

“I’m sure we’re open to any options right now. Anything is better than waiting around for something big to come our way. Is there anything you can do to stabalize her?” With the question posed to Siaqi, the wolf frowned and lowered his head in a thought. So, the destination would be the edges of the swamp… Deception claimed she could walk, but he was more concerned with the dapples of land separated by swamp goop. They would require some leaping to cross. However, they might find some stretches of earth to stay on. Either way, it wouldn’t be a pleasant trip.

Fluid neck muscles propelled the female’s muzzle from one side to the other as those cadmium blues began to try and gauge which direction they could at least go in, and would hopefully be the shortest route out of the trio. Unfortunately for them, the landscape of the swamp was very much like that of the desert, where each part looked like the rest, with dangerous portions of land hidden in between the rearing tall shrubs. And Siaqi had found herself wandering in circles many a time during her not-so-frequent visits here which was something they couldn’t afford to be doing now.

Home? The mention of it snagged Siaqi’s attention almost immediately and she had to agree. Despite the lengthy trek to get there, it would be safer for the she-wolf, especially when she’d be surrounded and cared for by those who’d probably spark more of recognition than her façade did. Even if not, they would at least know her better than both Raynis and her did.

A curt nod was added in agreement before the male poised a question to her. "There’s nothing. The only medical experience I have is with physical wounds and obviously her illness isn’t just a mere cut." Moments later she turned her attention back to Cep, "I agree that home will be the best place for you to be after we get out of the swamp. But I don’t think you should go it alone. The Fields is on the other side of the Valley and I’d prefer it if you’d let us escort you so we’d at least know you got there safely, if nothing else."

A toss of her muzzle a short time later indicated the direction she thought would be best to get back to the Fields and addressing Raynis once more, she asked, "I think it might be best if each of us went either side of her. That way we can support her and catch her if she stumbles or falls." With a soft smile and a gentle nod, the pallid female moved up to the side of Cep to prepare the move, looking to Raynis to see if he approved of her idea.

The heat is crazy here, so I'm a little out of focus, as well. :/

She glanced out over the thick, mushy ground - and perhaps it could be described as watery if not for its stubbornness - and suddenly felt discouraged. She had stated that she would be able to walk back, but now she had been capable of thinking long enough to realize that it wouldn't be easy. It hadn't been easy to get this far away from the 'Fields, but in her discombobulated state, she had forgotten that until after actually speaking. Perhaps it would be easier to get back, though, since there were two others here...once again, her thought process drifted off. It wasn't even worth trying to think any more. All she really cared to know and consider was that she had temporarily forgotten something from less than an hour ago, and that wasn't good. She also vaguely wondered why these two weren't so ill...perhaps it was something she had done wrong...but it was impossible...all of her days had been normal, right up until the sickness. She hadn't visited any new places or eaten or drank anything unusual.

She had been somewhat tuned out, and so it was a sudden pull back into reality as she heard the male speaking, something about options and stabilizing. Now that she had come to terms with her most recent lack of concentration, she focused once more on what the others were saying. Siaqi soon spoke to her, agreeing that going home was the best open option, but that she would probably be better off if they escorted her. ”Alright,” she said simply, not wanting to say too much. Then the idea of one of them walking on either side of her was posed, and the ivory female approached the darker one's flank. Once the male also took position, the trek home could begin - and that was a highly relieving thought.

Pools of liquid light appraised the snowy femme and her statements, silently agreeing with a curt nod. It seemed the decisions were dipped in gel to get this far. Perhaps the scruffy male had been moving too fast for the two ladies to keep up. With that in mind, the gunmetal lupine eased his jumpy nerves and awaited Siaqi to take up position on Deception’s other side.

“Tell us if we’re going too fast for you.” Vocals held a gentle, almost restrained tone. He was anxious himself to get out of the swamp and its mesmerizing spells. To stay much longer seemed to dig a deeper hole and he didn’t want to know what was waiting at the bottom. Keeping his ratty furred body near the sable female’s side, Raynis tossed his head lightly to indicate “forward”.

A first tentative step was taken, the small paw setting firmly on the uneven earth for as much traction as it could get. His gaze never left the two females, especially the sickly midnight, waiting for a sign as to continue or stop. Siaqi obviously knew Deception far more than Raynis did, despite sharing pack status with the Fielder. He knew little to nothing about the wolves inhabiting the Strawberry Fields, despite his search for any who would like to talk. Novians seemed to be drawn to him, however. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t let status dull his personality. He could only offer help, and it was up to them to take it or deny it.

Slight powerplay, but if it's a problem, let me know and I'll happily edit it out. :)

Thankfully, the idea had been met with a positive edge and that alone was a bright star of encouragement as far as Siaqi was concerned. Right now, all that was a concern was edging this sick female from the hearty grip of the Swamp and at least now there was a plan on how to do so. As long as it would inevitably take to reach the distant borders of the field, it would invariably have been longer had they stood around discussing what they could do to get themselves out of there.

So, when Raynis stepped up to Deception’s alternative side and tossed his head in a refined signal of the start of this wayward journey, the smooth gait of Siaqi’s took on the fragmented steps of the sick black’s to keep in a sync with her as best as possible on her part. Every now and again when the appearance of a spirit lagging or a stumble or slip into a bottomless onyx pool on any of their parts materialised, a motherly croon (simply because she was used to doing it with three young pups) would encouragingly soothe the stagnant air in hopes that somehow they’d make it through.

Although time was never a factor in this journey, it still passed them by with a jagged ease until eventually on the nearing horizon the grubby fingers of Marsh grasses began to give way to lands more suitable for their passing.

Although she still did not doubt that it wouldn't exactly be the easiest trek ever, at least to get out of the swamp, she had managed to push thoughts of that aside in her eagerness to leave this creepy place. She hadn't been hallucinating or hearing things that weren't really there - yet. The obsidian female got the feeling that, if she stayed here and allowed the sickness to get even worse, there would undoubtedly be side effects related to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was a pure blessing that these two had come across her, since they were healthy and willing to guide her home. She nearly shuddered at the thought of being surrounded by others who felt as terrible as herself, if not worse. It would have made for loads of insanity, and not the type that she appreciated.

The male soon instructed her that, if they were going too fast for her, to simply say so. The dark-pelted 'Fielder simply nodded in response, feeling too weakened and discombobulated to actually say much of anything. In several brief seconds, the trek began, and she moved with the supportive knowledge of the fact that these two were here to share the walk through the marsh. Granted, their current physical and mental conditions weren't the same as her own, but that only made their companionship more of an advantage. She dreaded the thought of wandering around the swamp on her own, after all.

Raynis kept turning his head toward the other two to check their progress, a vision of worry lacing his sun-lit orbs. He did not feel the kind of closeness to his pack members that he hoped to feel, but it could not be helped. Perhaps he was simply a loner by nature and not by choice. His social skills were not terrible, but he did seem to land himself without companionship many times. Well, it cannot be helped. A creature was what a creature was, and not much could change that if they weren’t willing to. Raynis didn’t care much whether he did change or not. As long as he retained his sanity… something that had strangely been prominent for a while. It was almost… suspicious.

While his body took in the slow and stumbling gait of Deception, matching her strides with his long legs, Raynis moved his awareness into the back of his mind. Something felt empty there, and it was getting on his nerves that it would not be there. He took a moment to search for it, like trying to recall something forgotten, until he found it.

“It” was sleeping. “It” had been asleep for a long while now. About two months, which was very unlike it. It was usually waiting quietly in the back of his head, observing through his eyes and sometimes commenting on what was happening in his life. Those comments were usually harsh and sarcastic, something he had tried to ignore on a regular basis. However, this thing inside his brain tended to be very, very persistent. And it was unlike it to be dormant for this long.

While he mentally observed this strange turn in behavior of this “thing”, the gunmetal male missed a step and stumbled forward. His long legs caught him before he could fall, yet his awareness was snapped back to reality. Surprise etched his face for a moment before he stood back up in his usual posture, trying to regain the lost steps of the two females he was with. The tone of his voice held severe apology and a bit of unnerved surprise. “I-I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to… to daydream… I suppose the silence of this place is getting to me.”

He frowned at his mistake, mentally beating himself about looking stupid in front of these fine ladies. Nice move, Raynis boy. Let’s help everyone think you’re weird.
