| Took me a while to get this up, but I was procrastinating, so sad Kimoto has to get sick. Poor baby! Alright Sphinx to the rescue! I think :/ |

The sun was unbarely hot, his paws hurt like hell, and whats worse, he traveled here without realization. Ears, though also numb and limp to the outside world, were driven to the source of White Rose Lake, throat raw from lack of good enough water, and teeth hurting from bacteria that had, within days, started to make his mouth their home. He didn't known much about the cause of this strange illness, in fact, the signs weren't evident until a night or so before when he had woken from a parched throat and sore eyes, tongue, and saliva, attempting to moisten it, failing miserably until he was droven to the likes of a certain pool, Sparkling Springs in fact, where he had been drinking at alot lately, unaware of the infections he would be dealing with within a couple days of stopping there. Dehydration, Paranoia, bits of insanity, and soreness? The male was dealing with alot of symptoms here, and there was no ice in hell the way he was feeling. He looked, and rightly felt like crap, fur was a mess, rustled and tangled, the male resembled that of a stray animal in need of a good home, as he continued to pant, bits of foamy saliva collecting near the black ridge of his jaws while he, driven once again to a source of water to quinch his never ending thirst, sighed deeply, desperately in need for relief as he lowered his head, dry tongue lapping at the waves, body dying to be relieved while he took in this refreshment with glee.
How he wished to meet up with Sphinx again! Her presence was enough to make him feel complete, and healthy again, though he hadn't seen her around as much as he wanted. With her duties of Alpha once again in order, she was seen around less lately, and it was driving Kimoto up the wall! He needed to speak to her, maybe she had a solution to what he was going through, and than he could be helped and cured and feeling fine like always. But as usual, she wasn't seen around, and he was beginning to get frustrated.
Gaining enough water to quinch his thirst for ten minutes at least, he settled down onto his stomach, legs overlapping each other as head rested neatly on top of them. Finally! relief. It felt good to have one of his sorenessess gone, now all he needed was a treatment for his gums and he'd be okay. yeah, okay he thought, a sigh emitted before he turned quickly in the direction a rustle had been in heard in the underbrush. Had someone been following him around, spying on his every move and waiting for him to turn his head so they could strike him dead like a coward. Coward, his brother Herone resembled that title so nicely, the bastard, he envied Kimoto so much it wasn't much of a surprise if he came out of the brush screaming and trying to attack him i'll be ready he thought, tail swaying lightly with the winds while he tried, failing miserably might I add, to conceal his fright. The truth was, Kimoto didn't know much about what his brother Herone -if he were actually there trailing him indeed, could do, when they were younger, he'd often been bullied by the stronger male, and often wished he could muster up enough strength to kill him, though never gaining the wish he wanted. It sounded all too good to be true, and Kimoto knew better than that.

She blinked, brilliant turquoise eyes clouded and watery, aching as the bright afternoon sun bore down into them. All around her, everything seemed a blur and nothing made any sense. Her ears rang and hurt; deaf she felt, the world around her seeming muffled and silent, yet each sound was more excruciating than the last. Her joints ached, her limbs leaden and her muscles uncooperative. There was the constant thirst, too. No amount of water could sate the ravenous thirst that possessed her constantly, plaguing her even in sleep. Sleep was something of which she did not seem to get much, and more often than not she just got up and left the den so that her mate could catch a few hours of sleep without her tossing and turning, sniffling and shifting beside him.
What on earth had possessed the lands? All around her, the white wolf saw fellow canines falling ill to some unseen plague, some sneaky intruder in their lands that attacked from nowhere. Sphinx could not recall having done anything out of the ordinary, and she had been just as healthy as always before this mess had hit. Whatever it was, it was swift and widespread. She had heard reports of more and more infections throughout the packs, and it worried her. What if this disease was lethal?
That was as far as her thinking went, however. Which was the farthest it had gotten all day, really. Logic just wasn't happening right now, because whatever this...thing...was that was wreaking havoc in the bodies of the wolves was also highly effective at wreaking havoc on their minds. Sphinx's thoughts and processes were muddled and slow, her perceptions skewed, and her understanding greatly diminished. As the white queen made her way stiffly toward another water source – the Lake, for about the hundredth time in the last hour – she had to keep reminding herself of why she was seeking water, despite her overpowering thirst.
As she approached the lake, she spied another wolf nearby. Large and tawny-coated, burly and muscular in build, and looking rather rough, he seemed to be suffering from the same crap that she was. She was too mixed up and scatterbrained to feel much sympathy for him – hell, she did not even recognize that he was her mate, for crying out loud – and without much further adieu she made her way toward the water. Walking right past the wolf, she stopped only when her toes were wet, dropped her head, and stared at the liquid before her. What was this? Where the hell was she?
Who was that wolf staring back at her in this moving liquidy stuff? What the hell was this moving liquidy stuff? Panic suddenly overtook her. What was going on? Her heart suddenly raced out of control and she felt terror grip her chest, tightening her throat and constricting her entire body. Sounding a yelp of alarm, the white wolf sprang backward away from the water, sending up a spray. She moved in a flash, sheer instinct and survival dominant in her. However, her paws slipped on the slick rocks beneath the water's surface, and she went over sideways onto the ground, half of her body in the water. Her claws scrabbled frantically at the gravel as she pulled herself up again and darted away from the shoreline, ears flat and tail tucked, sides heaving from shortage of breath. The evil wet stuff soaked her fur and dripped from it, dirt caking that which had not been submerged, and she shook her coat out frantically, attempting to get it off of her. She got a bit too hysterical with her shaking, though, and grew dizzy and fell over sideways into the dirt again. Rising up again, the world spinning around her and the ground seeming to move beneath her feet, she shook off and bucked and kicked around, attempting to rid herself of the (yet more) dirt that clung to her coat.
She had completely forgotten about the other wolf nearby.

| Ah! One of my favorite tables of Sphinx's =D. And Kimoto is experiencing some bit of his insanity now, he'll be back to normal in his next post... |

If he didn't feel like crap, and his senses were intact, he would have smelled the alabaster beauty a couple feet from him. Though mother nature, or rather the devil himself, had cast a curse on him, and kept him as dead to the world as Sphinx herself was. Throat throbbing for thirst again, the male lifted himself to straggle a drink from the trickling water, but was stopped the instant he came face to face with her. Eyes wide, he nearly jumped on her with excitement as tail was abrubtly woken to attention, limbs, aching from head to toe, and throat sore with redness as he struggled to speak
"Sphinx! I'm so happy your here, I've been having these terrible thoughts, and my throats raw, and my body aches, I dunno whats happening to me. I think it was something I ate" thinking back on the meals he had in the past, his mind instantly trailed back to the fishing lesson he'd had with Donabi. Fish were riddled with disease, and what more, the scavengers ate what ever they could place there stinky jaws on, it had to be the reason he was sick, red meat did nothing to him, but the second he try fish, boom! he's sick beyond belief. What he couldn't like to strangle the little buggers by drying their lakes, and seeing them flop with dispair. Yeah, that would be pay back for what he was feeling. Eyes traveling back to his mate, pools widened as he watched her swat at her reflection and blindly fall onto the ground, side half drowned by the White Rose Lake. What the hell was going on here, surely his beauty couldn't be sick as well. "Whats wrong with you babe? I know your not suffering from something too..." he trailed off, noticing the lack of glow her eyes held. Surely something was the matter with her.
Completely wide eyed, he watched as she now attempted to rid herself of something, possibly the demon that was attacking her, or the muck that attached itself to her bleached pelt as he, filled with horror and sick beyond compare, tried his hardest to still his beating heart, and attack her for coming too close to his frail bodice. She was slowly irritating him, something inside him had snapped, and what more he was falling too ill to even recognize the fact he had thought of attacking his beloved mate! Pools narrowing, he edged closer to her, teeth bared, ears pulled back, and tail flicking, as he spoke in a hushed tone "Who ever you are, I suggest you calm down and act right before my teeth become your fate" Kimoto had turned into the character his father so rightly deserved. He was no longer sweet, innocent, or understanding, he'd become short tempered, and hostile, ready to attack the white female who was driving him crazy with insane tactics, and lost posture. sighing deeply, hairs raising on the back of his neck, he waited for her to speak, wondered if she'd clear this all up, before he would attack. Nothing had prepared him for Sphinx's lost nerve, and what more his own, but oh no, Kimoto was normal, nothing was the matter with him, Sphinx had changed, all he suffered from was the symptoms he knew so well about. Too bad this was all in his head, and he was heading for more disaster the longer he waited. |

Lol – Sphinx is way out of her wits, so don't mind her too much. She's got a spot of amnesia, lol. xD |

No matter how hard she tried, she could not rid her magnificent white pelage of the water that soaked her. Worse yet, she also fought – unsuccessfully – against the crusty, clingy, gritty dirt that clung to the water that clung to her and it was generally just a really clingy situation and Sphinx didn't like clinginess and I really think we should see other people because you're just being too clingy. I need some space – let's just be friends. Anyway, it sucked. She gave up and stopped, panting and exhausted, and felt quite dizzy from her efforts. Foaming at the mouth from thirst, she turned to make her way back to the water. Yes, this was one of those relationships, in which she just couldn't stay mad for long. Plus, the benefits were nice, too.
And then she stopped short.
There stood before her a hulking, heavy male wolf, standing almost a full head over her and baring his teeth at her. Though she could not place who he was right away, she knew his face from...somewhere. And she also knew that he was subordinate to her...and baring his teeth. Somehow this...just didn't point toward a fun, happy meeting. It just didn't give Sphinx a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. It did not make her want to sing a merry tune in the shower and dance in her bathrobe afterward, either. The wolf spoke a menacing threat, and that was when Sphinx totally lost it.
Rising to her full height – which could be pretty imposing despite her lean frame – and locking eyes with the other wolf, she stood her ground. Her white hackles bristled menacingly like an arsenal of white quills as a deep, guttural snarl rumbled low in her chest before tearing its way up her throat and out between bared fangs. Her turquoise eyes flashed with brilliant, malignant fury, her ears lay flat against her skull, and her tail lashed irritably. "Fucker." She swore, her voice coming in sharp, snarling indignance. "Speak to your Alpha like that again and I'll shove that 'fate' of yours right up your ass." With that she lashed out with her teeth, snapping at his muzzle with blinding speed and, in spite of her condition, careful aim.
Lords, would there be drama to answer for when all of this sickness business cleared up. Good thing she probably wouldn't remember any of it. Or was that a bad thing? Who knew. All that could be said for the whole situa....oh wait. What? I forgot. *confusion*

| Oh dear, has Kimoto snapped as well? Hopefully the insane Sphinx won't kick him out of the pack for doing this, if so I'm hopeing *crosses fingers* he'll be able to gain his rank back XD |

He watched her continue a ritual he'd never seen his mate practice before. Jumping,- to which he still couldn't find the matter for, and clowning as if there was something grabbing at her heart, attempting to strike her dead. Lips were a permanent curl as a growl seeped through, no longer was he going to take this from an imbecile of a wolf, no way, he would show this wolf just who Kimoto Leishang was, no matter mate or not. what the hell am I thinking?! amazingly, his mind was functioning quite well, though another half of him ignored this question, while neck extended, limbs brought him forward, lunging him toward her, mouth open, clamping shut moments later when he felt his target was met. Wrong. He'd missed miserably, and though he figured the female must have jumped out of the way, he was met with teeth clamping down hard on his maw. What in the hell was this female thinking? And did she actually think he'd allow her to get away with that? Snarling now, ears were pinned back on his head, eyes extened to the point of near insanity, while he spoke "I don't give a rats tail who you are bitch, you've crossed a deadly line" his voice was no longer his own, but scruff and scratchy, almost like that of a hill billy, though without much of the accent.
He couldn't hold back his anger anymore. He'd snapped, and if he could think twice on the event that was no to take place, he'd surely take back everything he'd said, and done. But his sickness, which had risen to quite the serious one, had gone to the brink of no return.Forgetting everything, his other side ignored completely, he jumped at her again, jaws outstretched snapping and snarling like a mad man, the fight had began, nothing could stop him now. It was mate against mate, and Kimoto, the fierce brute he was, a past unlike any hed met so far, fought to the death. |

Good heavens is there going to be drama after this, lmao. xD |

What on earth was going on? The very fabric of love and devotion had been upheaved, it seemed, as the two mates drove for one another in a series of snarls and snaps. At first glance it appeared an uneven match. Kimoto easily had fifty or sixty pounds on Sphinx, much larger, heavier, and stronger than the smaller white female. His jaws alone were large enough to crush the neck of a moose, and his muscles rippled magnificently beneath his earth-toned coat. Yes, it might have easily seemed that the male could effortlessly destroy the white female before him. However, what Sphinx lacked in strength she more than made up for in speed and agility. The smaller white wolf was fiercely fast in her movements, able to dodge and dance around even the most dexterous opponent, and able to land a blow with deadly accuracy in almost any situation. So in all reality, it was a fairly even match.
But the oddity remained that it was still mate against mate. Sphinx, who had sacrificed her life and her family to make the dangerous journey back here again for this one male, was now defending herself against him. Was it the disease affecting him? It had to be. Kimoto was far too gentle-natured and kind, and certainly far too loving and devoted to Sphinx, to do something like this intentionally. Or so it was hopeful.
But none of this went through Sphinx's mind as the ordeal continued onward. She had been abandoned completely to the sickness, just as lost as her memory, and all she knew was that right now some big, strange wolf – who she assumed was from her pack – was threatening her and now attacking her. As he lunged at her, giant jaws open and large white teeth gleaming, the white wolf dodged quickly away from him. But not quickly enough, as his teeth briefly caught her flank in passing and she yelped in pain. It was a small wound, but it had been painful, and she whipped her head around for a quick look as she danced away from the big Mexican. Bright red blood oozed slowly from the wound and stained her white fur, but it wasn't anything major.
Enraged and indignant at the violation of her personal space and the mar upon her body, Sphinx snarled again, an whole new surge of anger and hatred boiling forth out of her chest and through her teeth. She charged at Kimoto again, flying through the air straight toward his shoulder, aiming with two rows of daggerlike teeth for his large, exposed shoulder. She was beyond words, and in such a state it was generally best not to waste time with petty insults anyway. All she wanted now was to bring this jackass down and show him that he had crossed paths with the wrong wolf today.

| Damn! Won't Kimoto have alot of explaining to do after this? I suppose after she attacks him once more, I'll see if I can try and switch it around. I don't want him fighting her too long XD. And this may create tons of drama, I mean what will Silver Creek think of their local Epsilon now that he's attacked their leader? Oh, and I hope I haven't powerplayed much, or at all, if so I'll change it ^^ |

He'd been in plenty of fights before, hell all his life the male had to defend himself from the likes of his own family and what little friends he possessed, yet the actual thought of hurting his own mate hadn't ever crossed the sane path in his mind. What male in their right mind would bother to try and settle a dispute -fighting wise, with their mate? It just wasn't normal, though nothing about Kimoto seemed normal lately, the male wasn't exactly in his same stage of mind and what more was figuring out tactics to bring this female down. The effects of water had completely taken over him, for today anyway it seemed as he growled loudly, limbs seemingly outstretched while he watched himself lunge at his belove, mouth agape, and sending a mindless gash into her flank. The blood taste like that of iron and what more, it caused his mouth to turn into that of smile. The taste of blood had always sent Kimoto up the wall, but not any ordinary kind of blood, the blood you get from a wolf. It was like the time he had tried fighting his older brother -by minutes, Hessain, and created a large enough gash to lift him off of him and finish a meal he had so rightly deserved. Though he was hungry and had finished the meal -a freshly caught rat, the taste of blood was so fresh apon his puppy tongue that he almost craved it, the likes of revenge tasted so sweet. Yet it had been a while since he'd tasted another wolves blood...until today.
Turning to face his opponent now, a menacing grin fresh apon his facade, he watched as the crimson oozed down her flank, staining her pearly white fur and making her look much more like the crazed wolf she was so greatly playing. Struggling to voice words, eyes widened as he watched the lithe female bound toward him, still smirking though, as if he were expecting her to retaliate, he failed to get out of the way, but instead stood his ground, waiting for her to get closer. When she had finally reached him, her long snout had indeed clamped down on his shoulder area, yet Kimoto was too crazed to dare so emotion or pain as neck extended to allow his mouth to stretch toward her, teeth bared agape as he snarled, bodice suddenly lifting as he towered over her, head leaning close, mouth opening and closing as he lowered near her, aiming toward her neck area. He had been waiting for a reason to vent out his anger this long, and now was the perfect opportunity to do so. So long for mates I suppose?

Lol – Hahaha, yes. LOTS of explaining, hehe. Poor guy! Don't worry, she'll forgive him for it – she loves her 'Moto. :) Sorry for the wait on this reply. My muse has been a bit slack lately, but I'm getting caught up now. I hope I didn't powerplay Kimoto too much – if I did, just let me know and I'll edit. <3 |

There was a certain dancing grace to the way Sphinx fought. Like malicious poetry in motion, she glided and darted, parried and jumped, turned and whirled to match her opponent with seemingly choreographed elegance and ease. She was a natural fighter, her senses coming together and joining forces along with her nimble mind and her quick, strong body to create a formidable and destructive machine well-concealed beneath a soft, pretty white coat. Combat was nothing new to her, even to opponents as large as Kimoto, and she was more than capable of holding her own in such a situation.
But skilled though she was, her finely-tuned equation was thrown completely off by this illness that possessed her. It slowed her reflexes, dulled her senses, and confused her mind, making it difficult at times to ward off the attacking wolf. Speed was on her side, making it relatively easy to avoid being directly attacked, but making attacks herself was a bit more of a challenge. Her leap toward his shoulder had seemed to go well at first, but the wolf caught on before she struck and braced himself. She landed her attack, teeth boring into the soft flesh of his shoulder, and tasted hot, metallic blood springing into her mouth. Too late though she realized that he had seized the opportunity, taken that split second in which she was distracted with her own attack and her senses were too dulled to anticipate his intentions, and suddenly she felt large, heavy jaws close on the back of her neck.
It was agonizing, a crushing force seizing all movement from her while knifelike teeth punctured the soft skin on her neck. Fortunately it was on the back of her neck, so her jugular vein was not immediately jeopardized, but that made it no less traumatizing. A shrill, high outcry escaped her as the pain blackened her vision and all but rendered her unconscious right there. As she found herself immobile in the grip of this wolf's jaws, her mind suddenly cleared and she realized all at once what was going on and, worse yet, who this wolf was. Terror gripped her with such violence that her breathing quickened to a heart-racing wheeze and she shook noticeably, ears flattened against her skull. She whined and tried to struggle, but the teeth in her neck held fast, and in a frenzied, shrieking, half-snarling voice she screamed, "KIMOTO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!"

| Heh, he's got alo of explaining to do with alot of others. He's been fighting all over the place XD. Though he'll be Sphinx's slave from here on out! ^^ anywho, I hope I didn't powerplay Sphinx either, though you didn't in the least. Time for much appolgies, and I feel about the lost of muse. Mine has been so horrible, I fear I may need to take Kimoto out of threads... |

If the devil himself could see Kimoto he'd be smiling down apon the tawny colored male. He was doing everything wrong, evil written within his eyes as he felt the impact of his jaws collide with Sphinx's scruff. It felt wonderful to be fighting again, nothing like testing out your rusty muscles and keeping your brain sharp than a good sparring. Had it been with another wolf, he'd been all for it -in his sane state of mind at least, though this wolf he was battling looked nothing far from foreign. Her white pelt and vibrant aquamarine eyes were so familiar to Kimoto he could have sworn he'd met the female before, yet his clouded mind refused to give him relief, and denied him the ability to see her for who she truely was as he tightened his grip on her neck muscles, forcing her to fall to the ground, wide eyes gazing up at him and a shriek heard as she whined and proclaimed her status. So she was his mate!
Though his grasp on her neck hadn't lost it's power yet as he snarled and fought to keep hold, mind fighting with his body to let go before he growled, letting her fall to the ground, head shaking with disbelief all the while. He was so stupid! How could he have caused pain to his dearly beloved? Stepping back from her limp stature, he moaned loudly, ears lowered to his skull as eyes were wide with horror. Gazing at her blood stained fur, worrying beyond anything that she would find him horrid and leave him, he licked his maw the iron taste of blood stained on his tawny fur as he came to her slowly, whining and praying for forgiveness. He could be banished from his pack for this, abandoned by his mate, and frowned apon by his fellow members, what in the world could have caused him to do this?
Stopping short of where she was, thoughts ran through his mind as he remembered her wounds. Running to where the water source was, he allowed his parched tongue to lap at the chilling waves, collecting it's sweet taste and substance before he ran to her side, lowering his head to her gashes and spraying her scars with cool water. At least, if she found him too horrid to be with, he could show his appology by washing her wounds.
Eyes were again fearful as aggitation once again flowed through him. What was possessing his body, making him do things he hadn't imagined he'd be going anytime soon, and causing him to hate his mate without much reason. He'd lost all control, but atleast he had gained enough sanity to speak. "I'm so sorry Sphinx... I never meant it to reach this far. Somethings wrong with me..." he admitted, finding it alright if she refused to believe him and tried to attack him on the spot. He wasn't worthy of being her Epsilon within her pack, and what more should be striped of his title of mate, even though his appologies ran rampant. Hopefully she was sane enough to accept them. |

Eek – I'm sorry to hear about your inspiration running low. If there's anything I can do to help you boost it, just let me know! :) |

The more she struggled against the jaws clamped traplike 'round her neck, the tighter their grip seemed to become. Was she to die at the teeth of her own mate? Was the very essence of nature to turn against her now and end her life in this most unnatural of ways? As she felt her neck muscles give way and tear beneath those crushing teeth, hot blood running thickly from the wound and staining her white fur hideously, she gave up. Such was the force on her neck that she could scarcely move anyway, so what was the point? This wolf – the one she had chosen above all others to run alongside her as her mate, to rear her puppies with and to ensure the future of Silver Creek – was crazed beyond all recognition and would not realize what he had done until it was too late. He would awaken from his madness with the limp, frail body of his mate clenched in his jaws...
She had all but resigned to the inevitable death when suddenly Kimoto dropped her. She lay there, weak and dazed for a moment, ears flat against her head as she trembled from fear and pain. The next thing she knew, she felt cool water being trickled onto her wounds. It stung and burned, especially on her neck, which was no doubt a hideous mess right now. She had regained her senses somewhat by now, and she shuffled away from the male, snarling as she did so. She did not trust him and was loathe to have him near her again. Her fur bristled threateningly – much of her neck appearing like red, bloodstained quills – and for a moment the thought flashed in her mind that she should attack again. But as soon as it came, it went again. She stopped, once again seeing her mate before her, and as she did she heard his words.
She felt the pain in her neck, the stiff agony of damaged muscle and the searing burn of torn flesh, and she wanted to hate him for it. She wanted to banish him from her pack and never look at him again for what he had done to her. But he was right – something was wrong with him. Something was wrong with her, too. She could not remember anything that had happened before coming to her senses there in his jaws. All of it was a blurry haze of consciousness that did not make any sense. But one thing she did see was the bleeding slash in his shoulder – did I do that?
Her expression softened and all at once she felt a wave of sorrow wash over her. What had nature done to them? Why had she seen fit to pit mate against mate? Padding slowly toward Kimoto, she licked him tenderly on his chin as she spoke, "Yes, something is indeed wrong...with both of us, I think." She moved to his shoulder, gently licking the blood from his wound and noticing with relief that it was not very deep. "It would seem that nature has forgotten who we are, my love. Mates should not be brought against one another." She still felt passing ripples of hazy confusion pass through her mind as she washed his shoulder with her tongue, but at least for the moment she was coherent. Coherent enough to realize that her neck was going to give her problems if it was not tended to soon.

| Oh no, more drama! ^^, I think me joining the WLC contest has sparked something within me. I feel the urge to be #1! XD. Though I know I probably won't. Nothing like hoping. I wonder will this last though... |

Allowing the water to trickle down her spine, a sense of accomplishment washed through him as he watched her wiggle. No doubt it was to sting, cleaning the wound was the most important thing to him now, as tongue lowered to lick at her now sore neck. He knew it would take some time for the gash apon her scruff to heal, his teeth had protruded pretty deep, and from his view, there were about two holes where his front canines had punctured. It could possibly take weeks for them to heal completely, though he knew Sphinx had it in her to stay strong.
Emitted a deep sigh of his own, head lowered slowly to gaze at her tongue, it's saliva cleaning his own wound, blood trickling down it as she continued licking at it, before it had finally stopped. Blood stains were seen apon his limb, though it wouldn't take long for them to dissappear as well. As much as he hated to admit it, Sphinx hadn't done as much damage to him as he had her, she wasn't able to get a good enough grip on him, though the skin had peeled back when her teeth swiped against it, and a long slash was vibrant, though not as deep as her holes, he found it would probably take a while for it to heal as well, for he used his limbs for everything, and often found himself brushing against things with his shoulder when he least expected it. I guess it came with the bulk of a slightly oversized Mexican Gray.
Another sigh expressed, he gazed at his white beauty, finding himself hating the fact that he couldn't recognize her, and wondering just what was inside him to bring him to insanity like today "I don't like this...I don't like it one bit. he mumbled, lowering chin on her, taking in her heat and comfort before an idea sparked before him. He was becoming a danger to not only his packmates, but beloved ones, and nothing was going to happen but this epidemic getting worse, and him fighting with more wolves. Including those he didn't know. "maybe I should leave, take myself away from everyone. I was the reason your hurt now, and if I don't leave, I'll only become more of a danger... he admitted, lifting his head to stare into his mates eyes.
He was hoping things wouldn't reach this far, to the point where he had to go into hiding, never to see anyone again until things calmed over and he was no longer feeling this tinge to hurt everything in sight. But he felt this was neccessary for him to stop hurting others, he didn't like the fact that his past was playing a part in this as well, Hessain had popped in his head more times than wanted, even his parents had come to his mind as well, though nothing compared to that of his horrific brother. He couldn't deal with the fact that Hessain was once again a problem to him, even in his elder life. "I have to..." with this he lifted himself. Wondering just the place he could go if he did indeed leave. |

Sorry for holding this thread up. Life's not been too kind to me lately, and inspiration's been hard to come by as well. |

She wasn't sure what was going on, why the wolves around the valley were sick, or even why she and her mate had just clashed. But one thing that was for sure was that if this mess didn't clear up soon, everyone would be plagued by it. It would be the end of the entire Valley as they knew it. Such thoughts were chilling, and Sphinx cringed inwardly at the mental images of Silver Creek wolves killing one another. Nature was a strange one, no doubt. Like many said about the gods, Sphinx liked to say that Nature always had a reason for the way things were. She liked to think that eventually this would all be resolved and somehow they would all be better off afterward than they were before, but she wasn't so sure about that now.
"No," she began, pausing her attention to Kimoto's wound as she considered his words. "I do not think it would be wise to abandon the Creek at a time like this." Why? Would it not be smarter to remove oneself from the possibility of attacking others again? Perhaps. But then what if this was contagious? Leaving the lands, trekking outside the Valley with it, would surely be taking the plague to other areas where it had not reached and spreading it further. Also, there was the issue of him being more vulnerable to attack when he wasn't in his right mind. "It is safer if you stay here. Going outside the lands will mean spreading the disease to others who have not yet caught it, and you are also more vulnerable to attack when you are not thinking clearly." She gave him a tender lick on his muzzle, followed by an affectionate bump on his lower jaw with her nose. "Perhaps it would be best if we just tried to avoid other wolves."

| It's alright. I know how it is. I've been struggling with it as well. I hope yours picks up soon! =D |

He swallowed quickly. Finding the saliva on his tongue much thicker than it usually was, obviously this sickness was deadly to everyone, and Kimoto just didn't like it, neither did he want it. He enjoyed being happy, and he was sure Sphinx did as well. Quite frankly, he didn't know anyone who was likely to love being sick, it just wasn't normal. And those who did, well they just deserved to die. Sighing deeply, gaze trailing slowly over both of their injuries, including those that he had inflicted on Sphinx. No bothers about him, he was too concerned with his mates condition as he soon felt the impact of his wound while he stood. His shoulder hurted like hell, and he could only imagine how much pain she was facing, especially counting the fact that he had a good enough grip to pierce through plenty of flesh, he would be sure to look after her for months after this, checking back to make sure she was healing correctly. Lord knows how much he wished he hadn't of done this to himself.
Azures glancing at her, he nodded his head in agreement. He wasn't thinking correctly either, counting the fact that he hadn't thought about this disease spreading, he hadn't hoped it was possible, though if a cure wasn't found soon, he hated to see the Savajes and Sabbi months from now. Nuzzling her with affection, and loving the feeling he gained from her tapping his chin, a lick was issued to her white face before he spoke. "Your right. Your always right...I'm so glad I have you by my side" he whispered, lowering his stance now to settle down onto his haunches. "Maybe we should just avoid them all. And when we come back, it'll be more than just the two of us" he winked now, wondering if she'd catch the hint he was trying to say. Even with the effects of this virus, he was looking ahead to the future, including the moment when they'd make their partnership include more than just them. |

Going to go ahead and wrap this up so we can get it finished and move on. Fun thread as always! :D |

As much as the white queen wanted to agree, she knew she could not abandon her pack. The last thing she needed to do was leave Den by himself in this fray of madness and chaos. If what she had heard was correct, her sunkissed co-Alpha was faring rather well in spite of all the illness around him, which sadly made him a very largely-outnumbered minority in the Valley right now. As much as she wanted to run away with Kimoto and hide out until the craze passed, she also knew that she usually had the presence of mind to remain and help with the running of the pack. She wouldn't forgive herself if something were to happen to Den while she was away in hiding.
Kimoto, however, was a little more questionable. The male obviously had an aggressive streak in his illness, and given his size and obvious fighting skill, he could definitely be a real danger around the lands. Sphinx shuddered at the thought of her Epsilon running around killing wolves in the Creek. Or worse yet, killing wolves of other packs. It was a horrifying image – lords, how would she deal with the other Alphas then? Shaking such images from her head, she grinned slightly as her big mate licked her face tenderly. "Of course I'm always right," she began, a note of humor in her words. "That's why I'm the boss." She grinned a bit more now, looking up at him with a hint of that ever-mischievous gleam in her eyes. "But I cannot leave Den, I'm afraid. It is my responsibility to see that the pack recovers and to help where I can...when I can." Though madness consumed her mind quite frequently these days, she could at least try, right? "Though I do not think it would be a bad idea if you yourself evaded other wolves. You seem to be a rather...formidable madman, heh." With that, she stretched her muscles, feeling a stiff, painful soreness already starting to take over her neck. That was going to hurt in the morning. Turning toward the direction in which their den was, Sphinx gestured for him to follow, "Come, Kimoto. Let's rest and tend to these wounds we've dealt one another." Another small smile came over her white face as she extended her invitation to him, hoping he would accept. While her clarity of mind lasted, she really wanted to be comforted and snuggled.

| Short and sweet. Alright I'll archieve and than we can finish the other one... ^^ Wonderful thread! |

A clever smile crossed his features as he came toward his beautiful mate. Had the heavens not opened his eyes to see the true destruction he was heading for, she would have surely been too sick to stand, let alone show the exact kind of personality Kimoto fell in love with in the first place. Nuzzling her with affection, another soft lick issued to her wound, he frowned with discomfort, finding himself hating what he'd done every second that had passed. He was a horrible mate, and an even worse Epsilon to the Silver Creek lands. Possibly hinding out for a bit, even if it was against Sphinx's judgement, was good. "Yeah, your the boss alright. Ma'am" he chuckled, before finishing "Although, I wouldn't like you leaving anywho, you already left me before, and I couldn't live with myself if you did again. I'd like it better if you stayed behind to keep the lands in line"
With these words he caught her hint and began walking. Heading back home, where in the morning he'd make his trek toward deeper lands, and hide out until this curse left his soul and he was no longer a threat to anyone, either special or new to him again. "You first my beauty" he spoke, letting her lead as he soon followed. |
