Rawr. So Alana's in full-swing sickness. Please no more than two others, and I'd like at least one Nova Mountain wolfie. :D
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Alana meandered slowly along the bottom of a mountain, its peaks spanning out into dizzying heights high above her. Her head felt funny, as though someone had stuffed cotton wool through her ears and packed her brain in fluffy wrappings. Halting in her tracks and reaching up a claw absently, Alana began to scratch at the inside of her ear, trying to grasp a tendril of the cotton wool or whatever was in there, and to pull it out again. It seemed that reality had little place in her world right now. The sky burned an odd shade of purple through her feverish eyes, and the mountain seemed a sickly shade of jade as it rose up; they met with a clashing of colours that was too much for her to bear. Groaning softly, Alana placed her paw back on the floor and began to move forward again, heading in the first direction she could, which happened to be up the slopes of the mountain.
Only a few seconds later, her pace picked up, her head became clear and sharp again, and colours resumed all natural hues. Ooooooh, yay! It was delightful seeing that it was actually mid-afternoon, and that her brain wasn’t really damaged beyond repair. Alana fairly skipped along, making up for her former lacklustre appearance by being overly excitable. Her huge weight caused small tremors to run through the ground around her, and pebbles bounced and vibrated beneath her paws. “And bee went to leaf and wolf said hi!” She exclaimed loudly, positively beaming as she stopped and gazed down at a large bough that had broken off a tree. Stooping low, her honeyed fur swaying a little as she did so, Alana grasped the huge thing in her mouth and, with some effort, lifted it high as she could. Then she continued to prance along, making her way past the borders and into the wolf pack of Nova Mountain. Maybe she would go and see Poet?
But alas, a tall tree stood beside her, gazing down with a wrinkled expression. What did that mean? Oh yes, if someone had wrinkles on their face it meant they were confused. Maybe it hadn’t understood what she had said. “Went tuh lake ‘n cat saysh pleese fank-yu pleese.” She murmured lips working around the bark of the branch. Still, the tree simply stood, staring down at her in a weary kind of way. “Wallnutsh.” She added softly, in a very understanding tone. It must be a hard life, being a tree. Alana decided she would keep him company. The huge bear sidled up to the trunk and began to wind her way around it, much like a cat rubs against a leg. The huge branch in her mouth stayed put, pulling her head down slightly with its dead weight in her jaws. Unbeknownst to Alana, the tree began to creak and lean under her weight, for it was not a very fat tree, and she was leaning on it very hard; all the better to comfort it. Ah yes, for a creature that bathed in waters daily, the sickness had come quickly.

I had fun writing this. xP Hope you don't mind me popping in! xX

She picked her steps carefully. Italia, head rising, thought she heard something in the distance, and furrowed her brow as the words became clearer - to her ears, not her head. The words seemed like gibberish. As she approached, and the sound became louder, the scent that crashed into her senses was not wolf. Tensing, she came into view and saw it was a bear. She flinched; she couldn't help it. Bears had been the monsters of tales, as a pup she had heard and dreamed about; bears were the things that had brought her nightmares and made her brother tease her even harder than before. And yet, this bear didn't seem very threatening - in fact, it seemed on the edge of its sanity. The voice was female; she took this in, and though the bears seemed teetering on the fine line between sanity and insanity, she approached her with caution.
She ventured, "Are you all right?" And then she remembered Siaqi. This was odd. Siaqi had been sick, if memory served; could this bear be sick also? But she did not display the same signs of sickness. She was leaning heavily against a tree, and the poor tree might have been knocked off its trunk eventually if it continued. Closing her eyes, Ita decided it was time to intervene less they have one-less tree in their population. She flinched again, as she tried to condone what the bear might do to her. "Don't injure the poor tree, now," she said in a warm, nicey-nice tone, trying to get the bear's attention on her, not the piece of hard vegetation. Why was she doing this to save a tree? All it did was spew out oxyge- oh, wait, that was why she was doing it. To save the tree and have more air during the hot summer days. Not that it'd work. Much.

This seemed like such a fun thread :)
Some words of sickness had been spreading around the valley as wildfire, going from place to place. At first it had been regarded as something silly, a wolf who said some funny things. It wasn't much later that she noticed how wolves all the sudden started to get ill, dropping like little flies into a field of ooze. The concern had been there; few had been certain enough to know what was really going on. Of course, as Nymphe recalled, it had to something with the water, after all, that is how the rabbit had died too. Hopefully all the sick wolves in the valley wouldn't share such a similar sad and morbid faith.
Slightly concerned, Nymphe felt it was her duty to help wherever she could. Although it might have been a problem with the lack of knowledge that was given to her, also the lack of symptoms and the medicine to cure. Some wolves had been sick and noticed in the way they saw the world, others shared signs of fever and yet another party, a bit of both. Losing their mind often had been the worst part, but a thing all shared, nobody could think straight without having their wobbly mind to allow them to think otherwise.
Observing from a distance, Nymphe noticed how a bear looked to have the same symptoms, mumering some jibble jabble nonsense. Fortunately another quick new member of Nova Mountain was already there to investigate closer to see if there was truly something wrong. Of course the small ebony female could not stay behind herself, and therefore she came out of her hiding place and moved forward as quick as she could. Staying close to Italia but at a safe distance of the bear she halted and looked with big, but oh-so curious eyes and a small smile upon her face.
"Did you happen to drink from White Rose Lake water?"

The spring…
Yay! :D
… it is come
Alana didn’t even know the wolf sneaking up on her until the voice ventured through her head, infiltrating her brain. Stopping in her tracks, still leaning up against the tree, Alana glanced about, her judgement slightly skewed. After a few moments of gazing off to her right and seeing nothing there, Alana wrapped her neck around the tree so she could look off to her right and see a shiny white female wolf with eyes the colour of her own fur. “Of course.” She responded politely, though her eyes narrowed slightly in suspicion. Then, as the wolf said something about her hurting the tree, Alana drew herself up against the trunk in indignation. “I’m making Mister Tree better, very much please.” She exclaimed, partly hurt at the insinuation, partly annoyed that the wolf couldn’t see how kind she was being. Didn’t help that wolfey was being patronising, either.
A smaller, blacker wolf followed the white one, coming into Alana’s slightly blurry vision. A smile immediately came to the bear; darker, bear-coloured wolves had always been more kind to her in general than the nasty white ones. Well, Siaqi had been a lovely white wolf, but the white one before her had already said something mean to her. If only she could remember what it was that she’d said that had been so mean… Oh well, now to answer the small black wolf. “I don’t drink very much, but I swim in lots and lots of wet of the valley. It’s fun, and makes me float.” She nodded happily, then lowered her head and peered across at the wolves who had stopped some distance from her, leaning a bit more weight on the tree and causing it to creak dangerously once more. “You like wet?” She inquired suddenly, looking at both of them in turn with narrowed eyes again. If they didn’t, she’d just have to drag them to the wets around here and make them swim until they enjoyed it. After all, who didn’t like wet?

(*chokes* Apologies for the wait! D:)
She echoed, " ...Of course you are." Her eyes flicked to Nymphe, to whom she gave a nod, and registered the words of the water in her head. So the water was polluted? It must have caused this bear's mind to become a little fragile, for however long it was. 'Wet'. Water, huh? It was inevitable that one swallowed the water they swam in. Placing a shiny smile on her mug, she nodded. " Yes, I love the water, though I haven't swum in it for some time." While her expression was friendly, and the look in her eyes still guarded, she was frowning on the inside, wondering what to do. This was the very first creature other than a wolf she had talked to and not hunted; though she was sure that the bear would not have herself hunted.
" I'm Italia," she said cautiously, though it was informative. " Of Nova Mountain," she added. She was proud of it. This was her home. "What brings you here?" She talked to the bear, and then lowered her head as she waited for Nymphe to speak. If she would. Ita didn't find handling this thing without the presence of the other wolf actively happening in the conversation very appealing. She didn't want to be alone with a bear who's mind was fragile. She was sure those were unpredictable - not that she'd encountered any before. And, hopefully, she wouldn't encounter any more, either.

Cautious Nymphe looked at the bear than back to Italia again. Her own evaluation of the creature was unpredictable. So far the bear looked friendly and slightly taken back by the illness inside the waters, as obvious shown. But at the same time because she was still dealing with unpredictability and the possibility of danger upon packlands, the ebony wolf was extra careful to not make the wrong movement. If she or her white counterpart had said something wrong, what would happen if she snapped? Certainly even two wolves couldn't deal with a bear that went bazooka. Oh, the risk.
Again the conversation of water confirmed her suspicion even more. And thus, deciding just how harmful or harmless the creature was, Nymphe smiled and nodded. Still the distance in between was relatively safe, any sudden movements wouldn't be phrone to happen any time soon. Or at least no direct hit's, keeping the dangers of this all in the corner of her mind. She took a step forward, daringly looking towards the bear while maintaining a friendly expression all along. "Did you swim at White Rose Lake? Care to show us where?"Nymphe said, hoping it would help her understand and investigate it further. At the same time hoping the bear would agree to go off claimed grounds.

The spring…
*Performs Heimlich manouvre* :D I'm going on holiday tomorrow, just to let you know.
… it is come
The white wolf redeemed herself a little in Alana’s opinion, saying that she loved to swim, though of course she had been a bit slow in picking up Alana’s comforting the tree. It was quite silly, really. What else would she be doing? Scratching her back? Ha ha ha. Actually, her back did itch… “I’m Whisper,” she replied brightly, her paws dancing up and down a little on the earth, her back rocking against the poor tree. “Silver Creek.” Of course it could simply have been a random exclamation of another pack name, but Alana felt that she was a part of it enough. She knew Sevgi and, hadn’t she been invited to go back whenever she wanted? Yes.
Swinging her head around to look at Nymphe, Alana’s expression fell slightly, her vision taking a few moments to respond and alter their course. It was all blurry and confusing. Alana decided she didn’t like Nova Mountain that much. If this is where she was. “Roses wet, yes.” Nodding affirmative, Alana suddenly relinquished the tree of her weight and began to amble away from it. Then suddenly, she stopped, and looked back at Nymphe with a crestfallen expression. “Don’t know how to get there.” It was probably the sanest thing she had said so far, the fact that she had no idea where she was sobered her up a little.
However, without catching her bearings, Alana began to plod forwards again, assuming the wolves would follow. “But we follow wets! It lead us there!” Her deep voice rumbled with pleasure as she thought of taking a stroll down the side of the stream and immediately set off in what she thought was the direction of rushing water down the mountain.

Whisper... Of Silver Creek?
Italia's face must have, at the time, been incredulous. Did Silver Creek accept bears as pack members? Now she wasn't thinking straight, though she hadn't taken the water from White Rose Lake. It must be the bear, she thought to herself, frowning. " Nice to meet you," she murmured, more to herself than to the bear. This bear was, obviously, ill. At Nymphe's talk of White Rose Lake, it was obvious: and then, Italia became worried. She was sure many wolves drunk from White Rose Lake. If there were more animals running around like Whisper-of-Silver-Creek here, then they would be in big trouble. She cringed at the thought. Big trouble.
At the bear's exclamation of 'Roses wet', she then looked sad - Italia twitched visibly at the sudden change in mood - as she declared that she didn't know where it was. But then, as if a stroke of genius had frazzed her, she was walking down the stream, to what she thought was the way to White Rose Lake. Turning to Nymphe, she nodded, and started to follow the bear. Even if it wasn't the right way...? she asked herself silently. She herself was unsure; she simply led where her heart took her, and right now, her conscience was taking her after the bear. She wouldn't be able to live with herself if something happened to the bear when Ita left. She padded on silently; the ivory wolf's eyes were thoughtful as they kept the bear's body in sight.

Have fun on your holiday :D I heart Alana.

Appreciation and respect for the bear had grown little by little. Even if the bear herself didn't realize it herself due to the illness, she had at this moment, played a vital part into solving the sickness. Hopefully, Nymphe thought, it would also cure the bear because the creature seemed more than friendly enough. There wasn't any form of aggression welling up inside Alana, neither anything that could indicate that something was amiss and she'd attack the next second that any of the wolves had left their guards down.
Most of the words coming out of the bear was gibberish; a language that she didn't understand. And it wouldn't even help to try and do so, the sickness had made many wolves and bears alike hallucinating. Underneath was a layer of truth. The roses and wet she could translate as the wolf description - White Rose Lake. After careful thinking, she had know with 99.99% determined that it was the cause of all the troubles. The sick wolves and one bear, the dead rabbit. There was something hiding underneath the water, transforming it slowly into poison.
Looking over to Italia, Nymphe smiled and followed the white female in her tracks. In the end, it would be the bear to lead them to the place where she last quenched her thirst. "Yes, we'll follow."

The spring…
So we'll just say Italia slipped away. Perhaps we could end this and start a new thread in White Rose Lake if you like? I love making Alana crazy!
… it is come
The white wolf didn't talk much, did she? Alana surveyed her critically as she lurched slightly despite the fact that she was standing still. With a small, girlish chuckle, Alana rubbed a paw against the earth as she realised something: the black one didn't talk very much either. Well, Alana would take them to the wonderful Wet-of-Rose. That would help to loosen their tongues: just look at the magnificent job it had done on her! Haha! Glee flooded through her as she began to sway-saunter her way down beside the river, on occasion almost overbalancing into the rushing water. Thankfully, it didn't occur to Alana that they might be better swimming. While it would be better for her, it would be likely bad for the wolves, meaning a certainty of catching the illness.
"Whassure name?" She shouted at the top of her lungs, hoping that the wolves trailing closely behind her would actually be able to hear. Everyone knew that sound only travelled forwards, so she had to be loud or they would miss her questions. "I'm Whisper," she continued loudly, her short-term memory slightly obliterated for the time being. "I like wets." Suddenly she came to an abrupt halt at the side of the river, just before they were about to come to Silver Creek territory. Turning slowly, Alana would have looked rather menacing had she not been a mass off spasming paws and happy grins. "Where's Nova Mountain? Snowflake? Lola…?" Her questions slowly became more hesitant as she began questioning herself. What was the white wolf's name? Oh well, no need to know it if she'd gone off somewhere. "Well, no wets for her, she'll be sad she missed wets." Alana said gravely, before giving Nymphe a charming smile. "But we carry on! We know full bananas of wets! They give us many lots of jams every day." Alana did what she was best at doing: she smiled and nodded. Just smiled and nodded. Then she headed off in the general direction of White Rose Lake, playing a crazy game of follow-the-leader while she swayed accordingly from side to side.
