Among the many things the beast could ever endure, the forlorn monster was indeed crossing a destined path. Every once in a while, the beast traveled from its sacred den, and out into the open, whereas everything was clearer and held more meaning than inside a smelly den. For, lately, she found she'd been sharing her den with a male and his son, whoever they were; she had no clue. All she knew was, he kept referring to her as 'love' which kind of creeped her out in a sense. Now, she had come outside of that den, from fear that the male was after her or something. Escaping from his evil clutches, finding herself wandering reluctantly towards the Silver Creek borders. Honest to everything, she was looking for a little excitement. Maybe she'd go dwell in the water and find a squirrel to hassle. As cruel as it sounded, everyone knew it was smashing fun.

Things just never got any better for the young canadian, but she figured life went on with its ups and downs, right? Vous penseriez que j'aurais obtenu à la Crique Argente par maintenant, ces condamner clébards, im a fatigué si, she told herself, eyes focused clearly on the road ahead of her. Man, those mutts really needed to try and choose a pack that was closer to Mount Shadow, Kiri was very tired from her journey.Kiriana wasn't the least bit happy that everything seemed so far away lately. Was she getting older? Eyeing herself in a puddle of water, that had been left by the night before, she checked her muzzle to spot for gray hairs. Non, je n'obtiens pas plus vieux, vous la vieille sorcière, she mumbled to herself, not aware that she was being followed closely by someone whom she already found to be strange enough. Those damn mutts just always thought that they could do whatever they pleased, and everyone would love them, didn't they? Kiriana thought everything about that was wrong. She was quite a loner whenever it came to being with someone. At least, from what she knew so far.

For the love of everything, she honestly hoped that she'd find out some way how to get in shape for crossing that path to Silver Creek again. Damn well, she was sick of walking. So, with a heave, she slumped her body down onto the ground, blinking unsteadily. Maybe next time I'll just dig a hole to the hill, she mumbled, as she closed her eyes, ready to doze off into a nice slumber, just to feel the uneasy rythym of drowsiness engulf her mind. It wasn't easy to find something so easily, and when she would awake, she'd go scouting for something shiny to search for in the waters. It'd been so long she'd gone in search of a precious water gift. As a child, she loved to go adventuring into the water anywhere to find precious rocks, and shiny diamond-like stones to admire and gawk at. Now, she was more grown up, but hell, she didn't give a care anymore. She wanted a shiny rock.

Haha, the last sentences made me laugh. Shiny rocks are funnn! Now poor Ele’s gonna be rather heartbroken in this thread. >.<

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

There was a stern and concerned look that had replaced Element’s usual relaxed and easy going features. The past few days had been hectic, strange, and downright unusual. Kiriana hadn’t been talking to him; in fact, whenever he’d addressed her she’d turned to him with wary eyes. When he’d moved closer to comfort her his beloved mate had even cringed away. She wouldn’t speak to him or Akeboshi at all and Element had seen the similar pained look in the young pups own eyes. Then earlier she’d just up and left. Said nothing and fled the den in a manner he couldn’t help but label like some kind of escape. Was she angry at him? Did she not love him anymore? His mind was writhing in thoughts, his heart bundled into knots.

He was torn.

With a heavy soul he’d told Akeboshi to stay put, knowing all to well that things were borderline dangerous at this state in time. Wolves were sick. Prey creatures were dying all around from causes other than wounds of the flesh. Things just weren’t right. He’d drawn up in his head that possibly Kiriana was worked up by it all… and maybe… maybe even she had gotten a far worse part of the sickness. He cringed inwardly at the thought, having no clue how he’d deal with that if it was so. There had been no news of a cure or any sort of comfort to those who were sick. If this was nature’s way of playing a game with everyone’s lives, she was doing a damn good job of it.

To catch up to Kiriana he had set his pace at as brisk of a trot as he could manage, almost to the point of running. Element was getting closer, he could tell because her scent was fresher and very close nearby. His muffled footfalls stopped entirely as a foreign voice reached his ears, and they perked a top his head as he came to realize it was Kiriana speaking. In… French? Cocking his head, the male listened as his mate spoke. None of it just sounded right. And he’d never heard her talk in French before.

Resuming his walk, he came out of the brush behind her, head lowered and eyes flashing with concern. “Kiriana? Love?” Pausing, he tried to swallow the painful lump that held fast in his throat. “What’s wrong, Kiri. Talk to me here. Please.” Another pause. “You’re scaring me, Kiri.”

Poor Kiriana and Element :( Kiri is all "RAWR" and Ele is all "love?"

Sleeping off in that land she wished to call her own sometime, it was all peaceful. A large meadow, full of sunflowers. She didn't remember being in a place with sunflowers, but yet she saw it in almost every dream she had. There she was, with some nameless wolf in front of her. Her eyes falling to sleep fairly easily, she knew that something was going to disrupt her sleep. She didn't feel bad at all that she had walked out of that strange males den, with his son. She simpled could not stand the fact that he was trying to get her to like him, by him continuously calling her 'love' and giving her a fake nickname. He had no right to give her a nickname, especially since she didn't know him, and she had let him sleep in her den.

As she had almost drifted to sleep, a slightly familiar smell came to her senses. He was there. He had followed her, how dare that piece of shit follow her. Eyes glaring as she was laying, she opened her eyes briefly, a glare to the empty space in front of her, as the male was behind her. That moster of a male had followed her, and now he was going to get it. Lifting herself from her position, she turned around to face the male, eyes filled with anger and stress. Paws began to ready themselves for a good run, before the male began to speak his insolent words. Kiriana shook her head, enraged that this male would indeed follow her, then ask all the questions. How it made her feel so low and incomplete. Was that little pup somewhere too?

You shouldn't be here, she snapped, green eyes filtering through the young male, filtrating the position that she had gathered up. She defending her life, and her personal life. He had no right to call her love. Whats wrong is you keep following me, she snapped again, eyes figuratively growling at the young male. I was fine, until you, the stranger, keeps following me everywhere I go. I expect your little boy is somewhere around here too? she asked, eyeing the surroundings, yet keeping the edge of her eyes on the black male, for any sign of movement towards her.

Hehe, yeah. Poor little wuffer babies. *Snuggles with them and then gets her hand bitten off by Kiriana* O.o

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

From the moment she started to rise Element felt something just plain wrong about all of it fill him inside. Then Kiriana whirled on him, turning her usually caring green eyes down upon him with a horrible glare, full of pure and burning anger. He recoiled; physically just the same as mentally, taking a step back as his jaw dropped wide open. Before she even spoke to him he mumbled her name softly, words dripping with a tone that was pained to the deepest of levels. Her paws twitched, and it looked like she was debating between lunging at him and bolting away again. Either of which would torment Element to no end. The anger in her eyes killed him, boring into his own placid grays and driving him right to the ground under their power. He wanted to run to her, lick her muzzle and nuzzle her comfortingly and tell her he was sorry – tell her it would all be okay. But something kept him rooted to the spot.

“Kiri,” he moaned, his dark ears flattening against his skull. “What’s going on… why are you so mad? What did I do? What happened?” The questions kept pouring out, useless words against her controlling sickness that held her hostage. Why didn’t she want him here? “I wanted to know what’s happening, Kiriana. Something’s not right and your really worrying me.” He was almost whining, so pitiful was his normally sturdy voice. He couldn’t believe this. Any of it.

”I was fine, until you, the stranger, keeps following me everywhere I go. I expect your little boy is somewhere around here too?”

The stranger.

What did she mean by stranger? He was no stranger to her… he loved her. She loved him. They were mates! And yet she was calling him a stranger.

The word struck him hard, and the Shadower recoiled again as if he had taken a physical blow. How could she possibly think he was a stranger? Swallowing hard, Element remained silent while he tried to find his voice again. “What do you mean Kiri!” He finally exclaimed. “It’s me! God, it’s me Kiriana. Element…” Please tell me this is just some sick joke… some horrible twisted joke.

Dude. this is like, hilarious yet very somber. :o its like...depression almost.

Indeed, Kiriana had no memory of this male ever being anywhere near her. It seemed that he resembled the wolf in her dreams, only slightly. No. It was all a trick, this male had been brainwashing her or something. That had to be it. This was crazy talk, she wouldn't ever have him in her dreams - would she? And who are you to give nicknames and call 'love' to, hmm? she answered, her jaw snapping open then shut with one click, as her ears twitched at every small movement. The male seemed distraught, and very unsatisifed with her behavior, but she didn't mind. He deserved it. Stalking her, calling her 'love' and giving her a nickname. She wouldn't handle it.

Hearing that nickname being called forth to her again, she gave a short growl. You keep following me! I was making my way, from my den, and your following me, she answered, eyeing him rather closely. He'd better watch his tail, cause soon she would spring forth and attack his thin-boned butt. Worrying you? Why would you be worried about me? I'm an independent wolf, I can do just fine on my own without any help from, whoever you are, she answered, eyes pentrating a short sadness, yet very undetectable. At her remark on stranger, he seemed slightly confused with her words. Yes, he was a complete and total stranger to the sick Kiriana.

Although it seemed that the little boy wasn't around, as she sensed no other wolves around the area than herself and this male, who seriously needed to pick up his paws and leave. Could you please, honestly, stop giving me that nickname, she asked calmly, eyeing him just as carefully as before, wondering just why he was so keen to follow her, and call her odd names, and pretend like they'd known each other. Listen, Sir..Element, I mean. I barely know you, I've let you share my den with you and your son, and now your following me? Think you could lay off? Boy, if things couldn't get any harsher. Things were pretty screwed up in this household.

I think Element is so going to cry by the end of this, lol. *Pets him and offers a cookie…. A rabbit flavored cookie* xDD And I loved Element’s last statement for some reason. *Liked this post*
Lyrics from “All Because of You” by Saliva.

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

Something’s wrong with me
Cause I can’t even feel you now
Or know that this is real
Am I blind to see that there’s something there behind your eyes
And it’s bringing me to my knees

Why was she talking like this? How could she even act like she didn’t know him? They loved each other, they knew each other inside out, they were together all the time but here they were… this time together but still just so far apart. He was only feet away from her but it felt like miles. Element was struck down, unsure of what to say as his mind reeled out of his control. Her jaws snapped shut, clicking with a vengeance as she continued to glare him down. There was nothing he could see in her eyes that was like the love and compassion typically was reserved there.

All I want is you and I don’t care
All I want is you and I don’t care

Gritting his teeth and trying to regain himself, Element stepped forward, a stronger look now in his eyes. Whatever was going on here he had to get to the bottom of it. This wasn’t like Kiriana and he didn’t like it. Right now he didn’t care about anything but trying to help his mate and trying to figure out how exactly he was going to do that. His approach and previous words were met with a growl, and his brow furrowed. She’d never growled at him before. Ever.

Cause all I do is wait in, wondering and hoping, that we’ll survive it
I know that all this is true
All because of you

“Our den.” Element responded quickly, his voice hurt. “Our den that we share. Our home.” He was steadier now, and took another step forward, ducking his head slightly. “Your forgetting the fact that its me your talking to Kiri-“ he saw her expression tighten as she spoke, and changed his sentence, figuring ‘Kiri’ was the nickname she kept referring to. Kiriana. He kept a careful watch on her, studying every wavering expression with the deepest intent. She was sick, wasn’t she? She’d gotten a strong dose of this illness and it was messing with her head. A wave of sorrow hit him, and it flashed across his features. What if she got worse? How bad was this illness that was spreading around? What if… what if she didn’t get better? How would be able to even stand that?

Something’s wrong with you
The walls you build around you now
Seem to fit you like a glove

“I’m going to help you Kiriana… you’re sick. There a lot of sick wolves around, you must have gotten it to,” he started, speaking slowly. “I even got a little sick, but not as bad as you. Before you say anything else just think, okay?” He took another tentative step, this time raising himself up more to look Kiriana in the eyes. “I’m not going to lay off because I’m here for you, like I always have been and like I swore I always would be.” He wasn’t going to leave her side until she was better. He couldn’t now. “Look me dead in the eyes and tell me you don’t know me. Go ahead and tell me you don’t know me at all and you don’t love me.”

Something’s wrong with you
Cause stars cannot be found in clouds that cover up their love
Cause all I do is wait in, wondering and hoping, that we’ll survive it
I know that all this is true
All because of you

I TOLD MYSELF I WOULDN'T CRY, AND WHEN I READ THAT LAST PHRASE, I DID CRY. god. im a loser. seriously. The poor couple.

An annoyance, really.

This stupid male was really starting to get on her nerves. He kept on referring to her as a love, as kiri, and as a retard who knew the black male. Perhaps he mistook her for someone else. Perhaps a prettier female, or a larger female, a female that actually fell in love with him. She found that she never believed in love, as it was a dangerous thing to get into, and that you find yourself falling out of. Le garçon, ils ne semblent jamais remarquer juste, n'est-ce pas? she mumbled to herself, quietly thinking about who this male was probably thinking about. Perhaps he was talking about Atraiyu, that nice little arctic wolf that she'd seen just earlier. Interesting wolf, strange, but interesting.

What? Now the boy was claiming that the den was theirs? When did it become theirs? She shared her den with nobody. As thoughts of reclaiming her den, and kicking out the father and son, she felt drowsy yet again, eyes falling closed very simply. Limbs falling very limp, in obvious pursuit of the sickness in which was instilled into her body. Thank you, for finally using my proper name, she commented, with a small dramatic effect, as the drowsiness seemed to be taking over her body. Scuse me, lad. But someone needs to lay down, she commented, as she tried to move her body, so she could get to a laying down position, and stumbled slightly to her right, before settling down upon the ground. Ah, much better. She layed her head down on her paws, as she looked off towards the hill.

Now he spoke of a sickness, something he said she had. Was it true? Was there a sickness going around? Was she - was she lovers with this male? Nah. Kiriana would've never fallen in love, love was such a precious thing that she'd always contradicted herself on. Sick? But I'm just a lil' tired, thats all, she mumbled, closing her eyes gently. But as he spoke of laying her eyes on his, she lifted her muzzle up to open her eyes, and stared him straight into his gray, cold eyes. Like I already told you. I have never met you, I don't know you and I dont... she led off short. Something told her not to say it. Like an instant reflex it shot through her. Something was wrong, she felt it everytime she said that in her mind, all to herself. What if, they really were? She shot her eyes downcast, trying to match things up, but nothing came.

Godddd, it makes me want to cry! Lol. >.< I love these two, sheesh. Ele’s gonna be all sad in this one. Lyrics from "Don't Cry" by Guns N Roses this time. I'm listening to the song as I write this, heh.

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

A dark brow rose when she spoke in French, and he caught some of the muttered tones as they whispered to his ears. So she was calling him a boy now? Shaking the thought away, he looked straight at her, frown on his features. Before he could even respond he saw her shake slightly, her legs gel beneath her and her entire frame wobble just enough for him to notice. Concerned at once, he made to leap forward, putting himself at her side so she wouldn’t fall. But it seemed she already knew what she was doing. Kiriana settled down on the ground, nestling herself comfortably. He let out a pent up breath, glad she hadn’t fallen. And ashamed he hadn’t gone right to her.

Talk to me softly
There's something in your eyes
Don't hang your head in sorrow
And please don't cry
I know how you feel inside I've
I've been there before
Something changin' inside you
And don't you know

He could see thoughts racing through her mind behind those brilliant eyes, and continued to watch her with careful affection and concern even as she closed them from the world – and from him. She didn’t fully reject the fact she may be sick… that was a plus. The possibility of convincing her that she indeed was and needed help was still there. That was what he needed right now. He needed to get her trust in him back – and even if she still didn’t remember him… still didn’t realize that he was her mate, he’d at least be able to help her. That was all he could do right now.

Don't you cry tonight
I still love you baby
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

She opened her eyes again and looked at him – straight at him. Just like he’d asked her too. There was a moment of silence between them, some debate raging between them, some battle she was fighting inside her head and a fight Element would try to join as much as he could. He dreaded her words she was going to speak next but he craved them too. Didn’t want to hear them if they weren’t going to be what he hoped for but had to either way. His thoughts wandered with the moment, the brief moment that seemed to feel like forever before Kiriana finally spoke.

Give me a whisper
And give me a sigh
Give me a kiss before you tell me goodbye

“You can’t say it, can you?” He whispered, moving closer to her again, footsteps falling slowly and tentatively as he inched closer. He hesitated every so often, waiting for a reaction. When none came, he’d continue to approach, finally getting to the point where he could kneel down before her, putting himself at her level. “You can’t say it because you know it’s not true.” Stretching one of his paws out before him, he carefully and lightly placed it a top on of her one. “Try to tell me you’re not feeling anything,” he pleaded. “Please Kiri… it’s me.”

But you'll be alright now sugar
You'll feel better tomorrow
Come the morning light now baby
Just don’t you cry tonight

hmm. its hard to play kiriana. cause i dont know if she'd know only small things like if they were friends or something. AND MY EAR BURNS LIKE HELL, MAN. OW. feels like someone put a torch to my ear x_o

All signs didn't lead. All she'd done, was go for a walk to the Cascades, then crossed the river a few days back. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that! Every few things she decided, she felt absolutely hurt. What ifs ran through her mind like chocolate through a chocolate factory. Everytime she looked at him, and even as their eyes connected, she felt hurt, emotionally and physically. She saw compassion in his eyes, something she'd never seen in anyone else before, at least from wolves that looked at her. She couldn't say what he'd said for the second part, because she felt that saying it, would go against what her mind said. Her mind told her not to say it, but her feelings said her mind was lying to her. She could see a small smirk light his face through the evening shadows, as it seemed he was pleased she couldn't say it.

I can say it! she murmured, eyeing him, slightly disgusted. My mind just won't let me, she led off, gazing at the ground, wondering if this was all a joke. Maybe she'd wake up soon, and this nightmare would all be over. But I don't remember you, at all, she commented, looking back up at him, her eyes were filled with dizziness, feeling as if she were going t collapse at anytime during this dreadful meeting. Someone, when she woke up, she knew today was going to be an off day. Everyone knew that when you woke up, feeling slightly off, that everything was weird for the day.

He began moving closer, and she made no attempt to move backwards. If he believed they were lovers, he wouldn't harm her. But as he placed one paw ontop of her own, she flinched inwardly. She did feel something, but it was an odd something. An affectionate touch, a touch that only her psychotic mother had given her. I'm sorry. You just - dont strike my memory, Element, she whispered, gazing up at him, as she pulled her paw away slowly. Lifting herself up, stumbling left and right uneasily, she then looking at him, her eyes almost in dreamland with her drowsiness. And all I wanted was a quiet walk through the cascades, to ivy hill and maybe farther, but noooo, I had to put in a nightmare of this odd meeting! she crooned, wondering just how fake this nightmare was.

At least she hasn't attacked him. xD Otherwise he'd go totally nuts and super break down, heh. And eep, this ones shorter than the others. I've got to go soon, heh.

Her words were soft but her look wasn’t pained… it was disgusted. Disgusted with him. He couldn’t stand it, and had to turn his head, diverting his gaze. How could she look at him like that? Each word struck him deeper, drilling at him with a hopeless fury. She really didn’t remember him… but there was something there. There had to be something there. She couldn’t tell him she didn’t love him. That meant something to him, and he held onto it tightly.

It was the worst it had been at during their whole encounter when she pulled away from him. In that moment he just felt horribly alone, and somewhere inside him flickered the first deep deposits of fear. “Can you… can you at least let me stay with you?” He asked, voice pleading. And he really was. It felt like it was all he could do right now to not breakdown right there. He could feel himself faltering, the walls he had put up crumbling down to nothing. As she moved away again the last structure disintegrated, and he could feel his eyes burn.

He probably would have remained lying there, torn and abandoned had she not started to stumble. Immediately Element was on his feet, rushing to her side and placing himself beside her, bracing her steps. “Let me help.” It was another plead, and he turned his head to look at her, hoping with all his might that she’d accept the offer. This whole thing was a nightmare indeed.

man. seriously. ill break down crying before element does! :o

Everything felt wrong, as usual. She felt torn, yet she felt stronger than ever. Perhaps it was just this drowsiness. She hadn't gotten much sleep last night, which caused her to believe she needed to get out more, and exercise her limbs to get more into her system of sleep. But, it seemed it wasn't working. She hated to see the strange male like this, but she couldn't help me. Perhaps someone was identical to her, and she didn't want to let him down, and didn't say that she didn't love him, just so she could help a guy out and disappoint him that she wasn't he female he was mated to. That had to be it, because Kiriana didn't remember anything about love ever crossing her mind, or even a child. Since when was their a child in her life?

At the sudden question asked by the black and white male, she quirked a brow. Why did someone ask her to stay with her? No one had ever wanted to stick by her side as a friend, so this must've been something strange. Yeah, I don't mind if you stay with me. Guess a lonely 'sick' wolf needs some company? she wondered slightly. She didn't believe she was sick, but if she was sick, it was possible she needed someone there with her, just in case something did happen. The worst she'd do, would be to fall unconscious for a few minutes or so, or get all stumbly and not remember where she was. There had to be a catch to this whole thing. Otherwise, why would he be so desperate to help her?

Eyes were most definetly fixated on the male, as she had begun to aid her limbs upwards and stumbled in the process. The boy quickly rushed to her side, holding her up gently, and she gave a muffled laugh, that seemed to disappear fairly quickly. Merci, Element, she replied, looking at the young male through green to grey eyes. M'aider aussi longtemps que vous voulez, she answered, as he probably wouldn't be able to understand it, but whenever she was slightly off, or believed herself to be alone, french was something she could do by herself, and not have to worry about someone understanding her.

Let's hope neither of us breaks down and cries, lol.

He could tell she was troubled. He knew her well enough to be able to sense something was going on inside her other than this sickness. She may not remember anything about him right now but he remembered everything about her. He knew what it looked like when she was struggling. And right now, his beloved mate, his everything; she was struggling. It was awful to watch, knowing that he could do nothing about it but offer a steady shoulder and stand there with a heavy heart. Maybe tomorrow she’d wake up feeling better, and that all of this would be over just like it truly was some nightmare Kiriana was imagining.

Standing at her side, the relief that surged through him at her agreement was another handful of newfound comfort he’d happened upon so far. He tried to offer a smile that was as steady as his legs, and managed halfway. It was dim, but it was there and it was true. “Just… anything you need, tell me, okay? Anything at all. I’m here to help all I can.” There was no way he’d leave her alone in her illness. Something could happen. Anything could happen. He didn’t want to even think about it right now. There were too many possibilities and none of them were good.

The smile that had been halfhearted before grew a few degrees as she thanked him. Did Kiriana even know that he understood a good amount of French? Her smooth voice ushered out more of the foreign words through her lips, and he listened with a perked ear. He could help as long as he wanted… that had been his wish and she had granted it. Nodding his head, Element replied quickly in French of his own. “Je volonté… I will.”

gah. im so sorry. my mom caught me online last night, and I had to get off. :( I might not be on later, because my mom wants me to stay completely off the computer while we go through my nasty room =/

It was slightly hard for her to imagine ever saying yes to being mates with someone. She'd always pictured herself as indepedent and insecure, and never once giving her heart to a male. She believed that all males did was tear hearts and break down walls. But, someting was different about this one. He was sensitive, compassionate, affectionate all in one. He seemed to believe so much that she was in fact the love of his love. But she didn't remember ever saying anything to him, ever meeting him before - except in those daydreams she had from time to time. But those were never real - were they? If this is a sickness you say, she started off, trying to get her balance back up to par, Then why aren't I coughing or something? she questioned, knowing that when your sick, usually you cough and sneeze.

She could feel the heat iminating from the males body, as she tried to cope with the touch of someone else before her. She wasn't all too big on touching, but if she really was sick, it was best he help her. And if this would help her, he was allowed to. Anything she needed, she'd have to tell him. why did she have to tell him? She was a free wolf, she could do whatever she pleased, couldn't she? Oh wait, the guy was trying to help her. Blinking her eyes out of sleepiness she gave a coy grin, I'm hungry, she mumbled, as she had heard her stomach growl through all of the confusion; multiple times. Now, she sounded like she was taking advantage of this. Halfway she was, but then again, she was really hungry.

Eyes looked over at the lack male, who seemed so eager to help. And though she spoke in french, he seemed to understand most of it. You know french? How fantastic. I speak french, yes I do, she mumbled, having a slight lapse in memory. Boy, did she feel like she was high on some nuclear drug. Maybe this male was part of the nuclear drug? are you under any ilegal business, mr. woofers? she asked kindly, as her muzzle looped around to look at him, gazing with a goofy grin. She felt like something had just hit her in the head, hard as a boulder. But, they were no where near any boulders out in Silver Creek. Only small, itsy bitsy rocks.

Her question was a good one, and honestly he didn’t quite know the answer. This sickness that was spreading through the Salvajes wasn’t quite something he could call normal. It seemed everyone had such varying symptoms, and all and all he was surprised at himself he hadn’t considered the fact Kiriana may be sick sooner than he had. But how had she gotten sick and not himself? The question puzzled him, and he wished that he at least knew how this thing was going around. Did anyone else know yet? Maybe tomorrow if Kiriana was feeling better he’d try to head around and see if anyone else had any information. Element sure hoped so.

Taking a moment to consider what answer he would give her, he just remained silently at her side. “Well… I don’t know, really. I got a little sick too and just had a headache for a couple of days. But, it seems like everyone’s having some different symptoms.” He turned his head, looking over her, just wishing he could look into her eyes like they always had and see the same affection shining back at him. Right now it was locked away and another pang hit him hard. He wanted her back so badly, and it hurt that he had no idea how he could have just that. Mother Nature was playing some nasty cards lately, that was for sure.

Kiriana seemed rather woozy, her steps unsteady and her eyes glazed with fatigue. And from what she’d just said, hunger was pulling up to the plate too. He could care less if she was taking advantage of his presence, that’s what he wanted her to do. Anything other than shun him away. “Alright. How about this… let’s just settle down right here, okay? You can lie down and take a little nap and I’ll run and grab something real quick. Sound good to you?” He didn’t want to leave her there, afraid she’d wake up and wander off, but he didn’t have much choice. He couldn’t have her follow him – she wouldn’t be able to keep up or even keep her footing well. That may lead to more trouble than it was worth. Element didn’t want her to fall and injure herself either. “I’ll be quick, I promise.”

As he waited for her to settle, Kiriana spoke again. This time he could hear the distorted confusion in her voice much clearer. “Yeah, I speak a bit. Just enough to get by, really.” Her next statement had him quirk a brow cautiously, wondering where the mixed words had developed from. Some hallucination she was having, or just a sentence that jumbled together in her head? Either way, he shrugged it off and went along with it; hoping that she wouldn’t fall off the rocker all together. “I can’t say I am. No secret spy here – just someone here to help you out.” He didn’t care much for the goofy look on her face, the dazed expression. Was she getting worse?

gah.

In all these moments, the feeling of possibly having a lover hit her hard. If he was staying, then that meant that he really was caring for her. Maybe it was a trick, to get her to think that she loved him, and he loved her. She'd heard of things like this happening. Thus far, she wished that even if they really were lovers, then why couldn't she remember much from it. All she knew was that he was helping her with her 'sickness' as he called it. Element seemed like a pretty decent guy, but she still had to hold her guard. Everyone had their fair share of play, and she wasn't too excited on the fact he was helping her, and that he kept on insisting like they were the best of friends. She didn't remember the lad at all, so, wasn't she right?

A headache? You only had a headache? Boy, I hate headaches. They're so, she paused, achy. Okay, so she wasn't very intelligent at the moment with her words, but she wished that from this sickness, him saying she had forgotten things, she wished she'd only gotten a headache. Headaches were way less painful, and didn't cause you to feel all sleepy. Who else is sick, Mr. Woofers, that you know? she asked quietly, wanting to go run up the hill just for a few seconds and come running back down. But the black male seemed to not want to let her get out of his sight. She wanted to run from him, and be free, and not be babied like this, but if she really was sick, she needed some help.

She heard that faint rubbling in her stomach, declaring that she was still pretty hungry, and that she wanted food, pronto. Her green eyes filled with dizziness, she looked over towards the male, greens wandered through gray, but no affections encountered. You'd get meh food just fer meh? she answered, looking at him with sparkling, yet confused eyes. With a gentle lick on his maw, it was a lick of thanks. She then began to lay her body down to the ground, hoping that she could get some sleep in, before the male came back. She hated feeling the emptiness that something was missing, and that was exactly it. She couldn't help but feel as if everything was indeed crashing. Her body had crashed already. Meaning as soon as Element had left the area to get food, her body had slunk off to a sleep.

As her eyelids were closed, and she was dancing back to sleep, the same daydream came to her. Except, more wolves had come into the scene. Tons of them, all hanging over her, staring at her as she slept. She looked at them, they looked at her. Whispering things about how sick she looked, and that she wouldn't be cured after all of this. With that, she woke up with a jolt at the idea that she would never return to what the black male spoke of normal. No, she wasn't sick, goddamnit. She was just playing sick for the male, so he could treat her like a princess. Just like she'd always wanted. But, it was a good thing she could trust him without being an illegal wolf out to grab her life and savings. Boy, that was the last thing she needed.

Moving slowly as he helped her lay down in the grass, a frown was back on his face. It was troubling deep inside him how she couldn’t bring herself to remember him. Yet even as troubling as that idea lay engraved in his mind, even deeper was the tormenting thought that what if it was irreversible? The very idea chilled him, and he tried to throw the thought from his mind and to the wind. Element was scared; for himself and for Kiriana, and for Akeboshi too. That was another decision he’d have to make. Should Akeboshi be around Kiriana right now? What if this was something that spread through touch or through the air – Element or the kid could get it to. And then what? All of them lie there incapable and sick?

His voice was heavy and laden with a well of mixed emotion as he spoke to her again, going along with the mindless conversation without much thought included. “Yeah, they are. I don’t think there’s anyone that likes headaches.” Right now he was feeling worse than he had when the male actually had been sick. “I’m okay now though, it’s been gone a couple of days.” He had a feeling that damn headache would be back again though – if not from sickness from the stress he’d be putting himself through. How long was it until she’d forget something again and try to send him away? How long until she’d get better… or worse?

The next question from her brought him back slightly, and he turned his hopefully gaze back to his mate, now lying on the ground. “Of course,” Element answered simply. Right then he wanted to go to her so badly, to lie down beside her like they usually had in their den. To just sit there and feel her warmth next to him and have not a care in the world. Right now, that seemed like the best thing he could possibly imagine. The hot sensation in his eyes returned with a fury and he had to turn away, diverting his gaze and blinking away the heat. Then, to his surprise he actually did feel her touch. A light caress from her tongue that ran across his muzzle. He wanted to return the gesture, but tried to shake himself away from the idea. She’d recoiled from him once before, and he didn’t want it to happen again. “I’ll be back soon. I’m just going through the brush over there to grab you something to eat, and then I’ll be right back. Just… just don’t go anywhere.” He hoped she’d at least listen to him and not wander off. And before he had even fully turned his shoulder in the other direction her eyes fluttered shut and closed tightly, and Element was off.

Boy. If things didn't lighten up fast for these two, he may just have to work his charm back into their relationship, for things didn't seem to be going anywhere. Kiriana was as stoned as a drugee, and Element was just as depressed as an emo. How tragical was it that the two lovers seemed different yet so the same in stereotypical form at the moment. Boy, whoever this mate of his really was, she had a nice guy to be following and prancing around with. It was obvious in the females sickness, that she wished she knew what he was talking about. A sign that she really was sick. Maybe a physical sign. For now, she believed that he was lying that they were lovers. And that the stumbling and drowsiness was just because of lack of sleep. Or something close to that matter. Besides, how was she supposed to know what was right and wrong in this situation?

Upon everyone detail she saw, she wasn't sure what to think. From everything she knew about the deceiving males, you couldn't ever find out when they were lying or telling the truth. There had to be some way to jog her memory, get her in the right path to knowing what was right and wrong. For a moment, it flashed back to the very moment they were helping make the den she called her own bigger, and he had said those few words. A small grin lit her face, but it still felt strangely awkward, to hear those words. No, its a fantasy dream. She's dreaming that he persuaded her to let him and his son sleep with her in the den by making it bigger. That had to be it, and she just wanted to know that someone loved her, and made him say those things in her sleep. That had to be it. With an interesting twist, her head jerked upwards, eyes fully attentive.

Mmmm, she replied, as his own reply had come off as he was willing to go fetch her some food. With ease, she lowered her head back down, trying to possiblity figure this out. But nothing was damn working. Maybe after he left, she should get up and go off somewhere. Someone could cure her, there had to be. Some others had to be able to get rid of this sickness. Grab me something to eat, mmhmm, she answered, and nodded slowly as to not go anywhere. She wanted to run off and forget that she came in touch with him, but she'd halfway promied to stay put. So, she closed her green pools and wandered off into a dream-like sleep, hoping to sleep forever, until she was cured for the rest of forever.

Meandering slowly and quietly through the underbrush as he walked off in the opposite direction, Element had to fight his instincts to not turn around and rush back to his mates site. He didn’t want to just leave her there, alone, sleeping, and helpless in her ill state. But in a way, the multihued Zeta needed to gain her trust all over again. Maybe knowing she could rest protected and wake up to a good snack would help do just that. He sure hoped so. Now all the male needed to do was get down to business.

Stopping, he dropped his head low, muzzle to the dirt as he began to scent the earth. There were tracks all around, but none of them too fresh. Grimacing, he followed one of the older trails, hoping it would lead him to a more frequented spot. As he moved the scent grew stronger… but there was still a faint and unused quality. The smell was growing but it didn’t add up. At least, not until he was led right to it. Stopping suddenly, his lip curled as he came right too what he had been sniffing out. Too bad for him the prey he had been looking for was already dead. He stood a few feet nearby, examining the hare that lay splayed out across the ground. There was no blood, and no sign of what exact fate had befallen the rabbit. Age? No… its coat was too pristine to be an older creature. It was young even.

For some reason when he inhaled again the scent troubled him. There was a stale odor, something that floated beneath the normal smells. He didn’t like it one bit. And yet, it seemed in some way familiar but unable to be placed. A growl bubbled in his throat and he didn’t know why. All of a sudden Element was just uneasy, and he backed away from the deceased rabbit and turned his tail to it, moving on and continuing on his way. He’d been gone fifteen minutes or so now, and already that felt like too long to be separated from his mate. He wanted to rush back to her. Just… he couldn’t do that without a meal for her. He promised he’d find something. All he could do for now was pick up another trail and follow it, hoping it’d lead him to something that was actually alive this time.

<3 This might turn out shorter than expected. My muse and awakeness is going down by the minute.

By every second that passed, as the male wasn't near her, she felt slightly empty. She wanted some company, to keep her from dozing off. It might have been possible that she would doze off, and then never return back to reality. Sure enough, she felt like she was drifting out of reality with each intake of air. For insake, she wished upon only one thing. For this sickness to flee form her body. Although she still remained wary of what was going on, she wanted to get up and leave, and never return. If she was going to suffer in sickness, it was best that she did that away from the rest of the wolves, so they wouldn't be traumatized by the loss of someone they might've known and the death-trader had forgotten. She just didn't want to see anyone else hurt, like this male was. Although he seemed to be wanting to help her regain her strength, everything was rather off.

Reaching her nose up to the fresh air, she noted that death lingered in every inch of air around her. Normally, the air was bustling with joy, and aliveness. But now, the air was rather dead-scented, and nothing came to interest. Perhaps everyone had switched over to some land, as to where no one would get sick. But that was a rather not-going-to-happen kind of suit. Even though she felt glad that the male had offered to get food for her, she still felt like she had made a large disappointment in the male. As well as everything added up, she felt like she just couldn't regain her memory for her sake, and of her family she once had complete memory over. Perhaps something would come up, and this sickness would wear off. For now, she just wanted to stop her hungry stomach from growling. Waiting for the brave soldier to return from his hunt.

That’s alright. ^^ It’s a fine length, not too short.

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

Fifteen minutes quickly turned to twenty, twenty to twenty five and from there on to thirty. He was starting to get nervous, wondering if Kiriana would even be there when he returned. While he was walking he’d come across another creature void of life, a bird this time. A woodpecker. Frowning as he passed by it the same symptoms of the fallen hare were present. No bleeding, no damage in any way. And it didn’t look or smell like it had been a particularly old animal. Had the same or similar illness been contracted from these animals? Or… had everyone contracted it elsewhere? None of that still answered the question of how this particular outbreak spread, and from where did it originate. Those were two questions Element was keen on finding the answers too.

Moving through the woods at the most brisk pace he could manage while still trying to hunt, he’d moved to smaller game. There didn’t seem to be a single fresh rabbit trail around and Element didn’t want to travel to far away from his ill mate. The next thing he saw would have to do. Glancing skyward, his silvery gaze trekked through the canopy as he looked for ideas. There was a bustle of movement, a shaking of a branch and then a high pitched chattering. A squirrel. He couldn’t help but smirk at the creature yelling down at him as he moved forward again, returning his gaze to the ground. He’d just have to find one of them on the ground. Climbing a tree wouldn’t be too productive.

After a few more minutes he got just what he wanted. Emerging from the underbrush he came across just the same type of creature, and before either of them could consider action Element leapt. He didn’t want to chase and he didn’t want it to get away. With a chirp it went down beneath his paws, pinned and helpless. The rest was over with a quick snip of his ivory canines. Picking up the meal in his jaws, he turned tail and ran back the direction he came.

Squirrel dangling imp in his jaws he came back to where Kiriana was, relived to no end to see her still lying there in sleep. Moving to her side, he dropped the snack in front of her. Quietly, he sat himself down beside her, giving Kiriana about a foot of distance between the two. In her current state waking up to him nestled beside her probably wouldn’t go over well. He didn’t want to wake her; sure that the more sleep she got was probably for the better. Whenever he was ill sleep always helped. Whether it would prove the same here he didn’t know. So silently he sat standing guard over her, making sure nothing else besides this illness could possibly come between he and his mate.

*comes back in all sad like* kira wants to reply to more things...KIRA WILL MAKE MORE THREADS. ohyes. *cackles* my eye hurts, ow. I got a new comforter, and a new candy-like pillow. (its a pillow, and it has the trademark of "Twizzlers" on it) heehee. I like pillows.

By an odd strike of luck, as her head lay down for rest, she could almost remember it like it was just yesterday. Memory lapse, that was for sure. She remembered very few of the wolves she'd met. But she remember some, because they had stuck out as obvious. There was that boy, Deceit, yes. He caused her emotional agony and strange protectiveness that was rarely shown. Then there was the time on Mount Shadow, where she'd met up with a fuzzy white coat with gorgeous blue eyes, and then that weird looking, yet so totally adorable puppy, named Bryndel. Then of course there was a newcomer, a small puppy by the name of Akeboshi. And then Kiriana had thought very much into the process and had jumped to the punchline when the pup needed a home, and that was when Kiriana had adopted him. Wait. She remembered some of it now, Akeboshi. Her..her adopted son, so, did that mean that the male now, was, really who he seemed to say he was?

In her half-like sleep, her nose began to twitch with the comings of the male. Of course by then, she wished she could see his face now, but her eyes didn't want to open. So, she gave a small wag of her tail, waiting for him to make an approach closer. In an instant, she knew it just had to be. But then how come she felt so miserable, and why had she forgotten that crucial detail about her life? Opening her green eyes, she had noticed the male had just dropped the squirrel down in front of her, and sat down a foot or two away from her, allowing her to eat. She lifted up her head quietly, looking at the squirrel, then turning her direction towards the alabaster male. She nodded her head in thanks, before she lowered her head down to the squirrel. Bringing it closer with the clamp of her jaws, she was about to take a piece, when she thought maybe she should ask him a question, before she dug in, and talked to him with nasty blood-coated canines.

Are...Are you Akeboshi's guardian too? she said, as she looked over at him, waiting for an answer. But her stomach made its normal gurgling noise, and she decided to go ahead and eat, hoping that her stomach wasn't upset. She lowered her maw to the squirrel, taking a small bit out of his back, just to feel the soft meat curl around her canines, as it then swam down her throat, the blood letting it slide down there with ease. Before going to her second piece, she looked back over at the ebony male, wondering just how long she'd go, with losing every memory she had. It had taken her a truly long while to actually get to remember what had happened so far. But now that she knew, she wanted to get to the bottom of it.

It wasn’t long at all that he had to sit there before Kiriana started to rise from her sleep. He watched her carefully, looking for any signs of discomfort or wariness present in her eyes or posture. Seeing nothing, he felt relived. When she looked to him the only response he got was a thankful nod, and Element returned the gesture. Just yet he wasn’t sure what to say. He had to debate the next step he was going to take. He had his choices… but a lot of it was up to Kiriana. Element didn’t want to make her uncomfortable any more so than he already was.

He watched her with sorry eyes as she looked over the meal he had brought for her. Truth be told, it wasn’t much. The squirrel wasn’t the largest specimen, nor was it as plump as a decent meal should be. In fact, now that he thought about it – neither was the dead hare or the living squirrel he’d seen in the tree. This perked his interest, and he took a moment to consider the possibilities. Were a handful of smaller prey creatures falling ill too? It seemed the past couple of hours had just been full of answers, and the only one’s he’d concluded on were things Element hadn’t wanted to find true. Kiriana forgetting he existed, for one thing.

Her words came to him and he looked back to her, noticing her eyes had lay on him for some time. Blinking, he stared back half dumbstruck before striking up an answer. “Yes. Of… of course. We both are, Kiriana. Akeboshi… you adopted him, remember?” Nesting down, he lowered himself to his stomach and met her eyes. “You met him and took him in, and we all live in that den together. He’s the little pup you were talking about. Our Akeboshi.” She remembered him – that was a sign! Her memory was coming back! Even if it was step by step that meant she was getting better, right? It had to be. All that had to mean something.

I just got back from seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 for the second time (: Noticed some GOOF-UPS in that movie. Only two, but still very noticeable when you see it the second time. And, I just need to "WHERE IS THE THUMP THUMP?" XDDD

By any strike of odds, she could feel her stomach churning into matters unknown. She'd never fully understood that her sickness could indeed spread outwards. So, if this was true. He was her mate, then that meant he had to know something about her. Something personal. If anything, he had to know her last name, or perhaps, maybe knew of her favorite place to be? And of course, it wasn't on Mount Shadow. Her favorite place to be excluded mount shadow, seeing as that was her home, and everything on it was the best thing to ever happen to her. It was somewhere off of Mount Shadow, a place she loved to visit from time to time. A place she found quite thrilling. Maybe, this would solve the never-ending conclusion, that he really was the mate in which he said he was.

But as his gaze turned directly towards her, her eyes cowarded in fear, that in fact he would eventually snap at her, for not remembering him. Yea. I...I adopted the golden fellow, she mumbled, her eyes tracing the ground in a rythmatic pattern, almost as if she was about to be conked out by the light that had come through from the merciless trees. That little pup, that was inside my den...our den, is Akeboshi? she felt ashamed, not to remember her own dear pup. Looking at him, she saw things unimaginable. Did he know her like he believed to. Was it just that mate who would do anything, even bow down to her if need be. Hey, Element was lucky that he hadn't a clue she believed she was a sorceress with a wand-like stick from time to time.

As she thought about the mere consequences, she needed to know if this boy, really did know her as a mate, or if he was just fooling with the already deranged mind. Then, you must know everything about me. Where my favorite place to be is, and the thing that touches my heart most of all? she asked kindly, simply, yet politely kind. If he knew the answer, he had to be telling the truth. If not, well, he'd be zapped with the almighty wand of DOOM. If this wasn't enough trouble already for the poor guy. But, she just needed to make sure she knew what she would be getting into, if she just didn't ask those questions, she could wind up enslaved to a boy forever. And if he were telling the truth, she'd find out she made the wrong turn and went for a boy at a very raw age.

Haha! I love that movie. The lines are all hilarious.

in this lifetime it better be the right time
the first time might be your last time

Luck looked like it was returning to him, and he nodded with frantic intention as Kiriana spoke. She was remembering! “Yeah, that’s Akeboshi. Don’t you remember? You adopted him and I didn’t know at first,” he smiled at her, cocking his head. “And when I found out I was… surprised, to say the least.” Maybe if he went over the stories and events again. Maybe if he talked them over with her. Maybe that would help her memory return. It had to help somehow, even if it was only the spark that lit the flame. Inching closer to her by a few inches, he looked more hopeful now. “Don’t you remember? We all went hunting afterward. Our first family hunt. We were teaching Akeboshi how to hunt the rabbit all on his own.”

Was any of it working? He didn’t know yet, and before Element could continue Kiriana spoke. Her voice was quiet, but full of sincere question. Element paused, blinking again as his mind raced into thought. Her most favorite place to be. The thing that touches her heart most of all. One dark ear swiveled, giving him a rather comical look as the male lay frozen in time while he considered his answers. Her favorite spot was White Rose Lake, was it not? “Your favorite place… it’s always been White Rose Lake.” But wait! He cringed inwardly, pursuing the question further. Nova Mountain. She liked Nova Mountain to. “A-and the mountain. Nova Mountain.” One question down and one to go.

He had to think more about her second inquiry. There were a number of things that touched her… but what the most? She loved pups and she loved nature. And she loved him… but didn’t remember that right now. Nature struck a bell in his head though, the chord sounding off and ringing. Definitely something with nature. After taking a minute to think, it hit him easily. A smile graced Element’s face, and he responded warmly. “A blooming flower in the spring.” He knew that was it, because he remembered the look on her face when she had seen a new bloom rising from its step. “It’s me, Kiri. It’s Element. I love you.”

She didn't know much of anything anymore. She knew her name, and all her history of her life, except for when she came to the salvaje. Some had come, some had not. Although it came slow, it came sooner or later than expected. She just needed time to think, and sleep. But right now, she wanted to know if he really was, who he said he was. ...and I got mad at you? she questioned, staring at him, green eyes filled with small joy, yet still as confused as ever. She had it coming back, she just still was caught in the glimpse of things. She was surprised for her to remember it at long last, but that still left no surprise to anyone. Hunting... she mumbled, remembering just how good it was to be out there, chasing your food down. Thats...Thats my job! Goodjob, Sherlock.

Under the questions she had asked, she sure hoped that he would be able to remember these things. They were probably the most important things to her, and if he remembered them, she'd know he was who he said he was. But with the first question answers, a smile finally filtered her face, as she grinned lopsidedly, ushering him on to the next question, and with each correct answer, Kiriana scooted closer to him, pulling her still vamished squirrel with her. Correct. I've fallen in love with the lake, and the mountain at close first, she whispered, her eyes diving into his house, hoping he would see this masculine recognize that sick or not sick, she was another wolf destined to be free like the rest of the wolves in the valleys.

And indeed, she could recognize the thoughts running through his head look. The absent look, that he was trying to remember the exact thing. Thinking was okay with you, at least he used his mind instead of blurting out an answer. With the answer to her second question, she scooted a tad bad closer, looking at him through her eyes. And with his final words, she nodded her head gently. So you are him afterall. I..Im sorry for the way I treated you earlier.. she mumbled, sheepishly looking down at the ground, as her eyes stumbled shut for a moment, as if wanting to go to sleep, before she opened them back up, and laying her head down on her paws, before her mind totally collapsed with her thinking patterns.

Last post. Oo. Sorry I didn't get to this last night. Problems came up and I just had to go. =/

Little by little it seemed to be coming back to her. It really was coming back. His smile blossomed, and Element even chuckled at the next memory she voiced. It was a quiet laugh, but a laugh nonetheless. That’s right, she had gotten mad at him. “Yeah,” he agreed, nodding again. Her eyes wandered, thoughts trailing absently behind those green eyes he loved and adored. Then something else clicked – he could almost physically see it happen. “Hunting, yes. You’re the pack Hunter, Kiri. It’s your co-rank.” Things seemed to be falling together, the puzzle pieces matching up in the network of her mind.

His paws shuffled anxiously toward her across the earth, and in return Kiriana moved closer to him. There was something like a whine brewing in his throat, bubbling but not yet released. The male wanted so badly for her to be back to normal. But now it was time to see if his answers had been correct. Waiting, brows raised as he looked on hopefully, Kiriana kept quiet for a moment before speaking. Right as the words come out of her mouth his smile lit again, his tail swiping to and fro behind him. There was another nod of approval after he answered her second question, and his smile blossomed again. There was no way she wouldn’t no him now.

The next words that rolled off her tongue were delivered sheepishly, and she diverted her eyes. The smile still tumbling across his dark features Element leaned forward, butting his head into the velvet-like fur of her neck softly. “It’s okay, Kiri. It’s alright…” All that mattered was she was back here with him now. His mate laid her head down across her paws, eyes drooping shut and Element watched on. “Get some rest, okay? I’ll be here watching out for you, so don’t worry about anything. Nothings going to come between you and me again.” He’d sit and watch her until she woke up again, and then from there he’d be staying at her side until everything was fine again.
