As said in the Topic Description, all welcome, but I would like to request that I meet one of the leaders in my first thread. If you guys are to busy though I would gladly like to roleplay with whoever comes across this thread. Just hoping for one or two more of ya.
It had been a long time since Flea had recieved any other contact with wolves. Well perhaps not long, yet ever since he left his mother to wander off on his own it had felt like years. It only being a month in reality. Flea had of course quickly stumbled across the pack of his liking, one some wolves called the 'Fields. It was peaceful here, with content members that seemed to get along well. Flea was looking to be a content wolf for once in his life so he had of course requested to become part of this community, he hoped soon he would move up in rank of course. It wouldn't do for him to be subordinate for long, especially with his small frame.
He didn't expect this pack to be much into fighting for your title, but Flea couldn't always be certain about these things. Moving along at a trot he covered the ground with ease. He was slim enough to run long distances without tiring. His parents always thought of him as a supposed hunter, but his growth seemed to stunt once he reached 8 months. He could still hunt of course. Small deer were easy to bring down due to his speed, yet he lacked the bulk for larger game. He was always the one to get picked on in his younger months, and now this has caused him to be fidgety around others, unsure of what they might do to him. He had never been a very trustworthy of others.
Now that he was in a pack though he would have to get used to be around others, whether he liked it or not. He would soon find a place in his new home, but for now he would just explore, perhaps make some allies. He could always use the hulk for a friend. Flea soon slowed to a stop, rose-hued tongue hanging from the side of his mouth in a light pant. This seemed like a nice place to rest, and warm his pelt in the sun. He flopped down in the middle of a field, laying on his side, stomach rising with each breath. This is nice, he thought, very nice.

Hey, you put in a request for a leader? Here he is; violently ill, I warn you. But it’s nice to meet you anyway. *offers hand/paw* I’m Nicole. <3 And this reply is very odd. o__0

He wouldn’t be able to hide it much longer. Staggering out of the den he shared with Rayen’s abandoned whelps, the shaded Beta tripped over his paws in a tangle of movement and snarled as his chin struck the earth and he sprawled flat on his belly. Sticking out the tip of his tongue (he’d bitten it during the fall) he got drunkenly to his feet and fought the urge to topple again. Behind his unfocused blues wild thoughts zipped and spiraled. Among the most prominent was Vrash. Find him, a voice echoed along the edge of his consciousness. You’re feeling down and he can bring you right. back. up! Rightbackup, Indy-boy. So find him. It’s best to get away from the boys anyway, the Fielder convinced himself, though in reality he felt no guilt in leaving them. Leaving…who? He shook his head and ruff out, effecting an ungainly and distinctly pirate-y gait as he sought out his one-time partner, hoping for more than a how-are-you grin.
As he went Indris was visited by a great many sights that did not make sense to him—he chose to ignore them, though a sliver of the young man’s mind expressed disquiet as each hallucination came and passed. Clouds shifted overhead, making shapes and dancing on air currents until they stood before him, trying to strike up genial conversation. One was An, while another took the form of Roanik. He grinned senselessly at them, asked where it was that Kajika had gotten off to, and then stifled a growl of disappointment when both specters did not answer him and instead turned to fight one another. Clots of strawberry vines sprung out of them like blood, and even as he recoiled at these images, a part of Indris longed to tangle himself in the blooms and await his Upsilon’s company. “Where are you, Vrash? Can’t hide from meee…” He laughed and swiveled sharply around a corner, half-stumbling into a patch of crabgrass that sprouted from the hillside he’d rounded. It was then that he spotted the male.
Got to act normal, a calmer voice whispered in his ear. A silent moment passed within his brain—he could hear wind whistling betwixt his ears, maybe—and then the voice shifted, echoing and strobing like the voice of a radio DJ, or possibly God. Sounded like Jack Nicholson, actually. Indy-boy! Well, lookit that, there’s your friend. Well, maybe not your good friend, but he’ll suffice, hmm? Just go say hi to the scrawny buddy, alright? See how it goes… And suddenly Dirty Harry was in his head. Yeah, go see if that punk is feeling lucky. Riiight... The force is with you, Obi-Wan added helpfully, and Indris moved into view, as smoothly as could be expected under the circumstances. To any observer it might have appeared that the blackbird wolf had just been woken from a deep slumber—or perhaps taken a smarting blow to the old noggin—but by the time his blue eyes forced themselves to focus on the slender newcomer, that impression had faded into obscurity. Sitting composedly before this wolf, Indris cocked his head and offered what he hoped was a sincere and innocent-looking smile. “’Ey there,” he managed, hoping to Jack Nicholson that the slur would disappear real soon now. Steady at the helm now, mate, Jack Sparrow intervened, swaggering through a mind he had no right to hijack. Stay steady and you’ll land what’s left of the Pearl in a lovely harbor. Saavy? Inwardly he nodded, adding automatically, “I’m Indris, Beta of Strawberry Fieldss…’S a pleasure to see a fresh face in such joyousful… I mean, happy times. Forgive me; the festivities have tangled my tongue a bit still, as you can see.” Insert another winning smile here.
Still feeling far from at ease, Indris scrambled for the advice of yet another disembodied celebrity voice. Haley Joel-Osment? I see dead people. No, too dramatic. Frank the rabbit? That…is when the world…will end. Overly pessimistic. Let’s try a voice a little closer to home: Deus ex machina... Jake Gyllenhaal was nice, sure, but he couldn’t help if he wasn’t even talking English. Try again—you’re wasting my time, guys! Well, convince him you’re worth it, already! Snagglepuss purled in his mental ear. He already knows you’re high up, and you’ve got looks—sure you do—but unless you convince him he ought to stick around, it’ll be exit, stage LEFT! Now that was something the needy Beta could work with. “What I mean is, some pups were born a short while back, and we’ve got to be careful with new members… You understand? So, ah…” His eyes hooded slightly as he adopted that crooked smile that had charmed so many others in the past, hoping his current bout of insanity did nothing to cheapen the expression. “What can you offer m—my pack, young man?”

Warm. A smile flitted about his muzzle as he rested next to his mate, his ivory fur mixing wtih her own blend of grey as they cuddled in their den- a trio of whelps lay resting near her suddenly lithe stomach, the palest of all resting on his own foreleg. Out of the group, he was the only waking one- of course it was hardly time to sleep, but the puppies couldn't be convinced of that, and a chance to watch the little dears napped was never passed up by dear old dad. They just looked so peaceful- little ears twitching and flickering with thought, smiles twisting their minature lips as they drifted pleasently through dream land. Obviously Quicksilver had been tired too, for she also had passed out soon after retiring.
His tail curled around her lithe body protectively for a second as a foreign scent reached him. Bright eyes drifted lazily towards the enterence before gently rearranging the pups and his mate so they could continue to sleep. Walking quietly towards the mouth of the den, he looked over his shoulder, a dreamy smile tilting dark lips as he looked up his family- his family. The words were only just sinking in, idyllic and quixotic to the wolf who had so formerly been rejected by relatives. In the Salvaje he was flourishing. Picking up his paws and pace once out of earshot, the ivory behemoth trotted towards the smell, white lobes perked forwards on his head as a few fleeting syllables were carried his way.
Squinting into the blinding sun, vivid eyes gleamed an immaculate hue of phosphorescant emerald as he spotted two figures, one lying and one standing, not far off. As Green neared, he but caught the tail-end of the beta's words, glad to see he wasn't the only one intrigued. It was always nice to encounter the dark male. He was perhaps one of Green's favorite pack mates, although he didn't know much about the Beta. Actually, one of his very sons were named for the Lonan boy. Slowing, the wolf walked quietly around to Indris' side, a brow quirking as he examined the younger male; something wasn't quite right.
Smiling warmly and tapping the Beta's chin with the top of his maw respectfully, Green nodded to his words. And I'd be Freaky Green Eyes, then, Delta. The wolf added himself into the mix with a smile, his tail sweeping the grassy ground behind him happily. He didn't have much to add except for an even wider grin when Indris mentioned the puppies- the source of most of his joy. The only leader missing from the meeting was his other. White lobes swiveled on his head idly, vibrant eyes glancing nervously at Indy yet again. There was a crispness lacking in his words- something unsettling and ominous lurking beneath the Beta's exterior. At the moment, nothing really registered- and so Green left it be for the time being, returning his focus to the newcomer.

It had been a week and a half since that day at White Rose Lake and the unusual feeling and dizzy spells he thought would pass within the week had grown stronger, encompassing the youth's mind with something new, forgien and not alltogether unwanted. Wait, did he really want it or was it his mind -- second mind taking hold instead and forcing him to want it. Yeah, this was his mind, why would it lie to him? Besides, he could see through lies pretty damn well. He hadn't lived the life of piracy this long for nothin'.
Chehalis smirked to himself, limbs carrying him across the fields of Miracle Valley in sort of a saunter as he made his way to the borders of Strawberry Fields. He was at the top of the world, having recently rid himself of his persuers just beyond the haven of the Salavje Valley. There was no way they would find him here, merely chock up another crime on his medium sized list, crimes he would never suffer the consequences of. The amber eyed pirate chuckled to himself, tail curving in an arch behind his rump -- He would never deny his love for piracy, the freedom to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. It was a delightfull and marvelous thing and he briefly bondered why more folk didn't partake in it.
He reached the borders quicky, hesitating for a brief second as his mind held him back, amber eyes flickering with mild confusion. But the spell was soon over and, without further wait, he crossed the borders. But that same inclining that had kept him from crossing, held his tail and head down slightly -- he didn't fight it, same smirk dancing across his obsidian lips. The tawny pirate wondered briefly what sort of plunder this place had be it riches of gold and gemstones or... other things.
It wasn't long before he came across a group of fellows standing just a short ways off. He paused again, gaze scanning the lot of them before he changed course, saunter turning into bit of a swagger -- perhaps he shouldn't have eaten those berries on the way over afterall. Ah well, no matter. Chehalis spoke then, his usually slurred words slurred even more. But he didn't know that of course, this was how he always spoke. "G'day lads, fine weather ain't it." A pause -- he dipped his muzzle, grin alight on his lips. "Name's Chehalis, Capt'n Chehalis if y'know what's good fer ya."

I’ve decided to continue this without Flea—mind a little powerplay? I’m sure we can get along just fine by ourselves, guys. I’m sorry I made you wait this long, though. Really hoped Flea would be back… Ah, well. *cue crazy Indy*

“Indeed,” the teenager quipped, turning to acknowledge his snowy pack-mate with a grin that wasn’t all tame. I’m not bad, a seductive voice whispered in the back of his mind. I’m just drawn that way. So be it, baby. Inwardly sighing to himself about what a shame it was that Green was tied down with a family—those eyes were to die for—he whirled back on the stranger, only to find that he’d disappeared into the shadows. “Odd,” the Lonán wolf remarked to his friend, hiding his disappointment with a flick of his head. Don’t give up just yet now, a quiet male’s tones slipped through his brain. Haha, brain! another fellow guffawed before he could recognize the first. If I only had a brain!Oh, shut up, Indris hissed mentally, his tail flicking in slight irritation as he wondered what to do now. It was just him and Mr. I-Just-Had-Puppies-So-You-Bet-I’m-Offlimits, and that was no fun. Okay, there was definitely something wrong with him. There’s nothing broken in my brain. Movie-inspired denial or not, it wasn’t every day that he considered hitting on his Epsilon, for Chrissake.
His confusion skidded away unnoticed as another male made his presence known, spouting pleasantries about the weather as he tried out distinctly piratical terms. Mm, the blue-eyed youth thought with a welcoming smile, stepping forward (and somehow keeping his footing) to greet the handsome newcomer. He was careful, of course, to go along with the young man’s charade. “Oh, I know what’s good for me, alright, mate. Captain Chehalis it is. And I’d be…first mate Indy—if you’ll have me.” In a stroke of genius (guided by Jack Nicholson’s disembodied voice), he winked sidelong at Green, as if this was all a game he preferred to keep playing. Indris wasted no time in coming on to the swaggering Captain however. He sidled a little closer to him, whispering so only the other wolf could hear: “I know a thing or two about pirates, cully. And I reckon it’s been a long day at sea for ye. Mind if we…find a cozy berth somewhere?” He nudged the boy’s shoulder with his muzzle and stepped back, his expression reading as if he’d just been checking Chehalis’ foreleg for injuries or fleas. “Looking shipshape,” he said loudly, wondering when Green would come into the conversation—or conveniently head back to his den and the hot momma who resided within.

As quick as the strange newcomer had appeared, he was gone, disappearing like so many others. It seemed the Valley was inept at capturing and calling out to the lost and lonely, bringing a menagerie of species, histories, and personalities into one peaceful world where they could all exist in harmony. In other words: paradise. The Salvaje was the solution to a world which sought utopia. It had enough to provide for everyone who came. Problems were always overcome and peace constantly reigned. Like everything else there were occasional rifts in the otherwise smooth world—like the tensions between Nova Mountain and Silver Creek—but more than often things ran smoothly.
As much as the Valley greeted visitors and wolves who made their homes, it also seemed to send them away more than often—perhaps only some were suited for life here, and some greater being did the bidding of peace and sent the others away. And so was this wolf—but before him were two others. Two decidedly strange others, but Green would make due. However, when Indris too began in with Chehalis’ charade—no, no. Captain Chehalis’ charade, all hope was lost. And that’s when it hit him. What was off about Indris—he was sick. It was spreading like wildfire over the Valley, worrying the Delta more and more with each passing hour. Paranoid thoughts were foreign to the new father, but didn’t waste any time invading his thoughts.
The puppies. They were what worried him most—they had been confined as long as they could have, and even now were not encouraged to venture from the den. But at their tender age they definitely needed some exploring, some familiarity with the lands and the world around them. It was a sticky situation for sure—especially with pirates roaming around. Indris’ actions confused the white wolf, a brow quirked inquisitively on his head as he watched the two wolves’ converse in obviously piratical tones, their phrases strange and slurred with fever. White lobes stood erect on his head, sinew clenching beneath his achromatic coat as he tried to decide the best course of action.
Perhaps going back to the den and “the hot momma that resides within” would be a preferable plan. But Green wasn’t too sure about leaving these two to their own devices. Indris was a friend and Chehalis could easily become one—it wasn’t as if it were two strangers. So, no, the hot momma was going to have to wait. For now the wolf was to mingle with the Captain and his flirtatious First Mate, while he came up with his own pseudonym (how ironic.) The more Green thought on it, the more appealing playing pirate became. He did, after all, have a knack for accents—why not use it? A borderline devilish smile creased his slender maw, dark lips pressed tightly together as he contemplated. ’Ello, Capt’n. Fine day indee’. I’d be Gree’ beard, scourge o' tha seven seas. Came the wolf’s lighthearted, heavily accented, and slightly hesitant response.
