I've been wanting to get this up for ages, but only now am getting around to it, obviously. XD This thead is related to the boardwide plot, as Oni is slightly ill and it's really made her angry. Thus, this thread is potentially but not guarenteed dangerous for your character, depending on who they are and how they act, and is open to one or two wolves. If you're going to post a claim for a spot, please make sure to edit in your post in a reasonable period of time.

i am following nature without being able to grasp her

What the hell just happened? Blearily, she pulled herself up to her feet -- her fur on one side was now horribly muddled with twigs, dirt, and a various array of forest litter. Only one good shake was needed to dislodge it all from her pelt and send it hurdling back to where it belonged on the ground. Then, the alpha's first manner of business was to look around and make sure nobody was nearby to see her confusion -- and for once luck seemed to be on her side.

So what had just happened? The last thing she remembered she was heading down the mountain, and now she was here? That made no goddamn sense and the Fates knew it. Of course, no higher power was going to let her in on the little secret, so it appeared she'd just have to remain a poor befuddled sap. Her lips parted, curling angrily; so how in hell did she get here anyway? Was she abducted by aliens? Was she sleepwalking? As already said, it made no sense whatsoever, and Oni wasn't coming any closer to reaching a decision.

So just how was an alpha supposed to deal with this? It was bad enough she'd been in a fairly foul mood for a week or more now, and she'd attributed it to some random sickness -- but now there were rumors of individuals falling seriously ill across the valley, and she wasn't exactly pleased with the idea of joining their ranks. Why was this happening? What had she done to deserve such a dishonorable sentence? Asking quesitons served only to infuriate her.

So now, she snarled, giving the spot she'd formerly been laying at a single hateful glare before facing forward and storming into the underbrush. Goddamn this all she wanted to be back to normal and she wanted to be back to it now. A minute or so later, she was fairly certain she'd put enough distance between herself and that unforutnate clump of ground. She stopped, looked back, and had a brief moment of clarity between tides of anger and annoyance: whatever it was, it might happen again, and she couldn't afford to lose any more time. But wait, goddamn it all, she couldn't do anything. She scowled, growled again and continued forward in an almost sulking stride. All the while, her luck was draining -- the stage was set for some poor soul to come aross her.

Weehee it's Nymphe not me who gets bitten (or head chopped off). Not me, luckily. If'd pet Oni, I'd be the one typing without my head on it.

Perhaps your last NM wolf for the yellow energy stone :)

The sickness was driving anybody in the valley insane. Some wolves got paranoid as they came into contact with the water that only looked like poison on the first glance. Then they refused to drink it, if only they were really thirsty and they needed it. Otherwise it was just luck residing in the valley's hope and clutches. But it weren't only the disillusions or the strange events that made wolves act like they had been chickens sans head - their body running to somewhere with no true destination in mind.

Nymphe had tried to get away from the entire scenery but even here, at the neutral grounds, every bird chirped with some crazyness and the sickness. It was obvious that it was there and to deny its presence was beyond being ignorant alone. At this rate Nymphe felt as though the weight of the world was upon her shoulders and it was either this moment, the next or tomorrow but there was also a limit to her capabilities of carrying around the burden, the guilt. Happy she would be when a cure would be found but until now she was just carrying it around. But what would happen when she could bare the weight no more?

Exploring around, Nymphe felt the curiosity itching but was soon distracted by a low growl and some bad words that came afterwards. Her tail stood still as her ears, on top of her head, looked around for the emitter of the sound. Seeing a wolf who had either simply a bad day, or too was possessed by the illness, Nymphe stood still, not sure what to do. Her own instincts told her that it could be potentially dangers - sickness made you do weird things and in combination with anger - bad BAD combination. It was difficult to get into the mindframe of the other.

At the same time she was a caretaker and would never forgive herself if she'd just move on without being able to do anything. Even if it meant having her head bitten off and killed there right on the spot, Nymphe approached the wolf with upmost caution, allowing a few metres in between them in case any sudden movements would be made - then Nymphe could act upon it. Also with the knowledge she first had to find out if the wolf was seriously ill or just had a bad day and wanted to be left alone.

And thus instead of asking a stupid question like 'are you alright' - she awaited the other too speak or to move, while instead, analyzing every bit of detail so that conclusions could quickly be drawn. Beyond that, her stance was just neutral.

claim. :D Post will be up in fifteen minutes. Done. :)

Finally, she had been drawn to a place on the mutual lands that actually wasn't the Forbidden Swamp. Since she hadn't been to this area more than once during the bout of illness - if she had even been here at all during this time period - she wasn't led to believe that there was some sort of magnetism curse. Nonetheless, she was running at a fairly quick pace for no particular reason, glancing over her shoulder in fear of some sort of imaginary foe. And even though this place didn't have the magnetic abilities of the 'Swamp, it had the moving trees that were also shared by the marshy area and Silver Creek! Those blasted things kept coming towards her at full speed, and they were even impolite enough to keep doing so without deciding to move out of her way. Each time, they left her with no choice but to swerve quickly, and shout profanities at them in hopes of teaching them a lesson or two. But soon after, she would always encounter yet another moving tree. By now, things had reached a point at which she simply gave up and decided not to try to scold them. They just wouldn't learn.

Deception, on the other hand, had 'educated' herself as to how those peculiar moving trees - or, at least, they were moving, as far as she could tell - could be avoided. She had discovered that, if she slowed down, they always attempted to mimic her, giving her a considerably higher amount of time in which she could quickly evade them. With that discovered, her time in the Wildfire Forest quickly became more enjoyable, although one would perhaps be correct to say that nothing had been done to decrease the levels of strangeness. In truth, she still felt somewhat paranoid that the trees would get a bit wiser, and decide to actual be themselves instead of being useless fakes who mimicked everything the obsidian female did. Maybe it was a compliment, though, that the trees liked her so much that they wanted to be just like her. In that case… perhaps they had been moving towards her all the time in attempts to hug her, since they were her biggest fans! Oh, gods, she had been so rude to them this entire time without realizing their true intentions. ”I'm sorry, dear trees, I'm sorry!” she wailed, glancing around at all of them, ”Soooo sorry!”

With that, she turned and prepared to continue her trek - but then she realized that two other wolves were in the vicinity. One was an obsidian female, whom she recognized - and so Cep exclaimed, ”Hey, I know you!” Then she turned her head and noticed the greyish female, whom she hadn't met before. Yikes, she was definitely angry about something. Cep gazed at her curiously, her currently-useless-and-insane mind wondering what was wrong.

Whoops. That was a random busy weekend o.O;; -- What. I thought this was longer. Strange. XD

i am following nature without being able to grasp her

Her luck was something that faded fast -- faster than the daylight on the shortest day of the year, faster than the night on the longest -- she never trusted it, and likely never would. Not that the large occidentalis trusted much of anything, including (right now) herself. The luck wells were likely running dry for them all.

Every action she made was normally calculated and well thought out, but the sickness that had now finally reached its peak within her had thrown much of her common sense out the window -- to say nothing of her typically cool demeanor. Though her immune system would eventually beat the bug on its own, it was the trip there that was horrible for them all -- for their collective sanity.

As the first of the pair broke through the brush, Oni paused, taking a nice long moment to stare at the inky creature. Well? Wasn't the unknown female going to say something? The silence hung for a moment before she finally posed a question herself, "Yee---?" But she obviously didn't get to finish the thought, as that was when the second came wandering in to sight. The alpha's voice cracked slightly, going from rough and dangerous to a sort of 'oh my god, what now' tone as she haplessly finished her query, "---eeees?"

Goddamn this new one reeked of the illness, and she wasn't particularly thrilled about being around similarly-acting beasts -- although there wasn't much similar about them. The fact that she had an opinion at all on the matter might at least be somewhat hypocritical or otherwise foul and biased, but chances were nobody was going to try to challenge the inner workings of her mind quite at this hour. Give it a week or so and things would be a bit safer. The second female seemed almost like some sort of druggie having a bad trip or something, and Oni wasn't going to waste the time analyzing it. Her lip twitched ominously as her eyes slid back to the first apparition, as if to ask, "Is this thing yours?"

There wasn't a doctor to realise that Oni had been bothered by the illness. Although she could not tell how much, perhaps only a little, but it was enough to consequently change her behavior in a rash way, the female was by far more short on tempter. Either that, or she was always short on tempter - the illness just gave a spunky edge to make it even worse. Now, of course, that was a bad thing.

As such, her own neutral stance quickly changed as her ears flickered, hearing a sound coming from closeby about trees that needed to be kissed. Or, something in that direction. Her eyes took a look around the area, while still remaining on guard so that Oni wouldn't make any sudden movements. Soon - Deception - a gold moon forest wolf she had met in the same terms almost a week back. She too, was still influenced by the sickness. It was sad that she concluded that the sickness wouldn't heal itself, a cure had to be found.

Breaking through her neutral stance - which really wasn't helping anybody, Nymphe took a daringly step forward, while speaking up. "Your behavior has both been influenced by the water, I've been searching for a way to stop it." Frowning then, the Eta knew that she could as well made them more irritating than they already had been - but it was worth a shot and it did much more than simply staring in awe. Caretaker or not, she tried. The only plausible thing her mind would have to come up with was quite possible - how - was she going to aide them further.

Then taking a step backward, Nymphe looked away for something that could aide her. Being all the sudden surrounded by two unpredictable wolves had not been her idea of what she thought to be - her perfect day out. So, instead, she replied. "Don't worry, you can kill me afterwards."Yes, now now. Not that it had been the few magical words to stop them from ripping off her head, but she could try, couldn't she?

This is kind of a hyper post. o_o

She grew impatient after waiting a few moments for anyone to say or do anything, and so she began to walk around in circles, lifting her legs high with every step. Unfortunately, dizziness also began to take over, and she soon stopped moving and swayed back and forth unsteadily. Then she collapsed to the ground, landing on her head - though not hard enough to cause serious injury - but promptly rose to her feet again, and shook imaginary dust and debris off of her pelt. ”Ahmagawd, there are convicts on the plane!” she shouted, brain quite riddled from her fall. Then her eyes lit up in realization as she suddenly realized that, ”No, hold the phone...there is a missing child on the plane!” She shook her head and attempted to slam it against the ground, but missed. Then she leapt up into a higher stance and proudly said, ”There are snakes on the plane.” She pictured this plane as a regal one, and visions of it flying through the air ran through her mind and made her smile. But everything spewed out by the realm of celebrities must end in turmoil - a guy who called himself a virus, a hallucinating woman, snakes on the goddamn plane! Oh, goodness. There really was something wrong with her mind today.

Thankfully, visions from various movies that she couldn't have possibly known about were wiped from her mind as she heard the familiar female speak, stating that they were both behaving under the influence of water - kind of like driving under the influence of alcohol, but not completely the same thing. Apparently, she was also working on finding a cure. ”You're a flipping genius! Deception cried, smiling broadly. Then she turned to the trees and grinned at all of them, and said, ”Ladies and gentlemen, let's nominate this lady for a Nobel Peace Prize!”

But once again, her state of grand delusion had to be broken, and this time it was thrown cruelly out the window as she turned around and noticed that the multicolored female didn't exactly look pleased. And, around the same time, the darker one had backed away from the two of them, mentioning that they could kill her after she found the cure. Deception shook her head and smiled again, and then exclaimed, ”Ain't no killin', everybody's chillin'!” Then she turned and glanced at the angrier wolf for support, asking, ”Ain't I right?” She grinned once again, gaze moving from one to the other, and back, and back again, repeat, repeat, slowly.

*yawns sleepily* Pretty tired here, meh. x.o -- Woah. Where did the last few days go? >.> -- And I'm not used to this table. XD WHEE, different stuff.
Edit: XDD I just realized.. This thread reminds me of Fark.com... Snakes on a Plane references, "go die in a fire"... What's next? :P

A single thought leaves a trace.

So much for sanity. There was a serious lack of rational thought going on here, at least in the proximity of that one wolfess who was spouting all sorts of gibberish about snakes on the Great Plains or something. Hell if she knew. And needless to say, this would be the reason she'd been trying to stay away from just about everyone -- loads of loons.

For goodness' sakes, why couldn't her luck hold for once? For once in her good-for-nothing life, couldn't she just be left alone? Did simply existing mean that she wasn't allowed to stay away from other wolves when she most wanted to? Her lips drew back in a mixed snarl, uncertain whether to be defensive or offensive in her actions. Her weight shifted forward, back, then forward again as she attempted to decide on her next course of action.

Her eventual decision was to put a bit more distance between Loony McCrazymuffin and herself. She'd prefer a few miles between them, but a handful of yards would have to do. Needless to say, the alpha backed up.

The next matter of business would be to say something so she didn't quite seem so feral as she obviously was. -- And also to hide the fact her brain was skipping from one annoyance to the other like some sort of cricket on fire. -- Her eyes locked coldly on Nymphe, poor creature, "Don't just stand there babbling! If you're such a prim and proper person, just go...--" words failed her momentarily as she wondered just what she was supposed to order in the first place, "-- do something before that one runs into a goddamn tree or a cougar or a very large puddle!" Apparently Oni wasn't too hopeful for the existence of Deception's luck or common sense at this particular hour. It was also quite apparent that Oni wasn't going to get anywhere near her if she could help it -- but that was probably a good thing, as her "help" would probably involve a large array of sharp pointy teeth, blood, gore, and dismembered corpses.

Nice thread.

Oh, right. Nymphe had been so smart with her previous phases that now everybody expected a sort of superlady action. Although she was no wolf with a blue suit and a red cape, she was willingly to give it a tree. Even if it meant that such a thing - a cure - had not been found. And even if Oni herself contradicted herself by doing exactly that, nothing other than babbling on.

Deception's words had been like last time - complete gibberish. She remembered the day that they met at Strawberry Fields and it was an unfortunate thing that she landed up here. Out of all the wolves that she had come across with the sickness, the black wolf was off worst. Her mind seemed out of control, the emergency button had disappeared and instead being replaced by a bunch of banana eating monkeys that were now in control of that nuclear factory called a brain. Things went really bad if they explode, but a part of her was afraid such a thing had already happened. If only the cure would be found soon, or else...

..yes, the options hadn't been as pretty, and Nymphe soon found herself thinking about what she could do about the entire situation before Oni got mad at the crazy wolf and went bazooka also. There was little Nymphe could do though, there was no healing remedy and she didn't possess the brute strength to counter any attack - if anything happened. Resolute, Nymphe then charged to Deception and knew that if she took no control now, things would start to get worse, by far. And thus, shielding Deception from Oni, Nymphe then spoke. "This award price winner is going to drag your butt back to Strawberry Fields!"

Not knowing if Deception was willingly or not - Nymphe, as a 'proper person' almost dipped her head in politeness as a way of saying goodbye towards the vengeful Alpha. That is, if the things worked out the way she had intended.

---

She soon grew tired of glancing from one wolf to the other continuously, and so she simply sat still - or so it would seem at first to any pair of less than observant eyes. In truth, a fidgety state had overcome her, and she kept moving her paws around, just mildly, shifting her weight frequently. The tip of her tail twitched and moved jerkily, and she blinked rapidly, all while staring at the two of them. Despite this, there was no expression on her face whatsoever at the moment - in fact, she nearly resembled a mannequin - at least facially. Her body, on the other hand, was still rapidly making these small twitching motions, and now her ears had started to do it, as well. Overall, it could be a rather creepy sight to anyone who wasn't expecting it - meaning that the reactions of the other two females were impossible to predict. Not that she was looking to gain a reaction; she simply could not stop moving, even if she willed herself to do so.

The actions slowed down and only her tail continued to twitch as she heard the multicolored female begin to speak to the familiar one, sounding quite angry, and ordering her to do something other than just standing there and talking - namely, doing something about 'that one's' general lack of safety. ”Hey,” she said, ”Don't be hatin', be appreciatin'! I'm not gonna run into a cougar.” In truth, she wasn't even worried about encountering a feline, which was probably not a very good idea, nonetheless. However, although she normally found it easy to acknowledge the fact that they were dangerous, she had once met a very kind one, right here in the Valley. In a healthy state, she considered the aforementioned cat to be an exception to the 'they are usually homicidal and will slaughter you' rule - but the illness caused her to believe that they were not a threat. Of course, there were none around, and so she was safe.

Before she had time to say or do anything else, the other obsidian female had darted in front of her, almost as if serving as a barricade between the vulnerable ill one and the one who was apparently rather angry. She proceeded to declare that she was going to drag Cep back to the Strawberry Fields. Hm, the idea of home wasn't too bad...why had she come out here, again? Unfortunately, she couldn't remember. Anyway, she replied, ”Fine! See if I care!” Then turned tail and made a huge show out of taking two steps away. Then she turned around and glanced at the other two, and said, ”See, I'm even willing to go home without being escorted!”

I seem to have quite a few threads that are just plain odd. And I think this is one of them :P Looks like it's not going to be able to count for anything though unless either of you are planning on posting again? Meh.

A single thought leaves a trace.

There were certain meetings that just weren't going to end on nice happy notes to begin with. When rage trips across absurdity, no good can come of it. Pointed glares and nonsense never were good bunkmates, as it was quite obvious that one would almost certainly always be in the way of the other, and the two would end up entangled in their own limbs through all of eternity unless someone else came to their senses and separated them before wrath replaced rage and blood replaced ordinary tension and irritance. As it was, the interfering hand of the still-nameless sane one was that great hand that came down and pulled the two apart. Crisis averted.

And so the pair pulled away and left Oni to her own devices, as was probably best in the situation. Not to mention easiest. Turning slightly, the alpha began to head in a different direction, trying to keep away from whatever path it was they might end up taking. As for the words, they fell on deaf ears, as why should an alpha who was feeding upon her own anger pay any attention to the worthless jabbering of the insane. It wasn't worth her time, it wasn't worth her effort, and it certainly wasn't going to be let into her skull in this current mood. Her wrath would be saved for whatever poor dope happened to cross her next. Pity their poor soul...
