you can't live if your life's a tragedy
Arsenio felt like he was baking in an oven. Truely, he hadn't been this hot this summer, but it was something about this day that made him feel like he was frying. And he, knowing the lay of the land, had fled to the Sparking Springs, of which was normally cooler due to two things: the altitude and the running water.
Sure, it curtailed the heat, but not enough. The Phase child found himself on a flat rock under a tree, trying to escape the heat. His tounge lolled out of his mouth sideways, giving him a comical look as he panted, trying to cool himself off. He had already tryed swimming to cool himself down, but when he got out, the water would just evaporate and make him even more hot.
He ended up deciding that the heat would subside if he fell asleep. And so he tried, oh he did try, to drift off into that strange land of unknowing. It didn't work to well, though. Arsenio's fleeting mind kept darting between the babbling of the streams and the chirping of the birds and the buzzing of the bees and on and on, he simply couldn't escape it all. With a huff, he sat up on his rock, squinting out into the bright sunshine.
He wasn't liking this one bit.

ic. It was kind of hot today; no, take that back, it was really, really, really hot. Panting, February bounded around, wondering what she could do now. There was never anything interesting to do when you were a pup, and even playing with others her age could get tiring and somewhat annoying. Wondering if she would be able to find a place to rest, away from the burning heat, the arctic wolf ran into patches of shade- strangely, it was still quite hot. Whining, Fei realized that she would have to do something to get her mind off of the heat, since it wouldn't be going away anytime soon. Then it hit her- she could visit the only pack that she hadn't visited yet!
Energetically, the pup zoomed towards the foreign borders, crossing the borders while reminding herself where Silver Creek was. Soon, she spotted a pup in the distance- he seemed not too much older than her. Waving her tail, she made a beeline towards him, though kept her actions hesitant and cautious. She tilted her head, watching the male- he seemed to be dying from the heat. "Yew okay?" she offered from a few feet away.

To let you know, Arsenio's supposed to be minorly effected by the plot sickness thing, so that's why this is how it is. XD
i've got nothin' but problems
He was rather suprised when he saw a wavery white figure coming to him through the haze of the heat. At first, the disgarded it for either a mirage upon the waves of sun or something wrong with his head. When it kept on coming with determination, he then thought it was Tantamount. Arsenio blinked his eyes slowly, sure that it was his younger brother.
When 'Tantamount' came right up to him and asked him of his status, Arsenio simply put on a rather bubbly smile as he stood, immidiately slapped in the face by a pounding headache and, afterward, an onslaught of wooziness. He sat down immidiately, rubbing a paw over his head as if that would help his pulsing headache. Squinting an eye toward the white other, he mumbled a few words through the mental block that was beginning to form between him and the outside world.
"'M no' sure. 'S really ho' an... I have a hea''che, an' th' worl' 's spinnin'..." Blinking owlishly once more, he looked on to 'Tantamount', smiling lopsidedly. "Otha' th'n tha', Tannamao, 'M fine. How 'bou' you?"

ooc. whee, fun!
ic. The pup seemed quite uncomfortable, from the heat? February glanced up at the sun, squinting- it was hot, but it wasn't so hot that she'd be lying on the floor and acting as if she were dying. She blinked when the older pup began to speak. Oh, it seemed like he was sick- she shuddered; Fei had never been sick before, but her friends had, and it never looked like it was too much fun. "Yew should go into some shade," she advised thoughtfully, pondering possible remedies. She remembered that some of her friends had eaten some watermint, but then she remembered that was for stomachache.
The pup's next words confused her. "Eh?" she spoke, blinking at them him oddly. "Ah'm Fei- February- from Silver 'reek," she introduced, wondering if that would make a difference. She wasn't called Tantamount, that was for sure, and she had never met the pup in her life. Maybe this was why he was speaking so easily with her? Then again, most pups spoke easily with each other; it was simple fact.

The eldest Phase boy felt really weird. As if he had two parts of his personality: one would sit there and watch as the other made his thoughts befuddled and all messed together. He could actually see himself thinking that this puppy was Tantamount, and he could actually think that it wasn't. But it just didn't get all the way through the pipe that was his mind. Blinking confusedly with the other's words, he felt as if his mind had run into a brick wall. Not... Tantamount...? From... Silver Creek...? Overload. Overload.
"Fei-February o' th' Creek?" he said stupidly, blinking and shaking his head. "Are y'sure y'ain't Tanna playin' a trick on me?"
Clearly, Arsenio wasn't willing to allow himself to accept the facts. Which were pretty much that this other puppy was a few months younger than him, a girl, and clearly not Tantamount. But he wasn't going to let go of his suspicions, especially in his strange state.

ic. February blinked at him, confusion flashing across her face. Who was Tantamount? His friend, maybe? Tilting her head curiously, February waited patiently for a reply, the frown on her face showing that she was worried about him being sick. She didn't want to catch it, if it were contagious, and spread it to the rest of her pack- that wouldn't be too smart. "Ah'mma not Tann'mount!" the pup insisted, putting emphasis on the not. She shook her head, just to make it clearer.
The male was about a month older than her, but because of February's undersize figure, she seemed about three, but she wouldn't let that phase her. She bounded towards the delirious male, letting her jaws clamp around his front leg. She tugged on his paw white speaking through a mouthful of his fur. "Com'on, let's get yew into the shade."

The pup... wasn't... Tantamount. Arsenio deflated slightly, blinking lazily and yawning. His mind was going at the speed of a snail, and he felt as though 2 + 2 was like calculus. "Y'coul' jus' say so." he said blearily, trying to stand again. He succeeded this time with minimal headaches, and then got a better look at the puppy. It - no, she - did kind've look like Tantamount, but she had blue eyes and... the Silver Creek scent, as she said.
"Well, 'M sorry bou' tha-!" he started to mumble as the Fei-wolf suddenly shot foward and wrapped her jaws around his paw, pulling him toward the shade of the looming mountain trees. Panicking, he immidiately felt his mind drifting into the illusion that she was trying to take him somewhere he didn't want to go. "'Nnn! Noo! I don' wanna gooooo!" he yowled, though it wasn't enough. The smaller puppy had dragged him (in his delirious and weakened state) into the patch of shade. Plopped down, he blinked again and mumbled. "Wha' was tha' for?"

ic. Arsenio's so cute when he's confused. o:
ic. February felt strangely happy as she dragged the other pup to the shade- it took a long time, of course, since she was smaller then him, and wasn't really made for strength. Her wirely limbs and slender form made her a much better runner. She hadn't stopped, even when she heard the older pup's complaints- if he had a fever, Fei assumed that he shouldn't be in the sun, where the sunshine would worsen his fever. The shade, however, would cool him down and make his fever all better.
"See, yew're not in the sun- the sun is hot, and yew have a fever, so to cool yew down, I put yew in the shade!" She puffed out her chest, obviously proud of her logical reasoning, and then realized that she didn't know his name- February tilted her head t oteh side, flicking her tail idly, "Who're yew anyways?"

Lucky! You get post 200! And damn, I'm even starting to sound like that game Trace Memory. <<; You've obtained blahobject! Lucky!
i've got nothin' but problems
The world lost its angry glow - Arsenio was in the shade. He blinked, his pupils expanding sightly to soak in more of the fainter sunlight. He still felt as though his head had been shoved into the clouds, but at least they weren't angry cumbulonimbus - they were now whispy cirrus. He had a definate grasp on everything now, even though it was weaker than he would have normally. He could see the girl now and clearly distinguish her from his white brother, Tantamount. He also felt a hot rush of embarrassment flood into his confused mind - he'd acted like such an idiot. But he was sick, wasn't he?
Blinking at her words, he noticed the truth in him. Being a Medic Apprentice, Mentor Ahanu had, first thing, taught him about simple sicknesses, like simple fevers and colds. True, you'd want to cool down the victim in the event of a fever, as well as try to make them not move often and try and go to sleep. And keep hydrated. Ah, he needed some water. His eyes flickered lazily to the Spring, sparking with distant want.
Catching her question, he shifted his golden gaze back to her. She was younger than him, probably by a month or so. "'M Arsenio." he said, lifting a paw to rub at his head. "An' I feel kinna... funny. 'M no' sure why." Or was he? Was he afflicted with the sickness from the water...?

ic. I'm kind of thinking that /you're/ minorly ill now. o_o
ic. She felt relieved when Arsenio managed to seem like he was starting to improve on his condition. She was no medic, and wasn't completely sure that she'd be able to make him become fine again without any outside help. Good thing that she had at least some basic knowledge, even though most of it had been deduced from common sense. She noticed his glance towards the water, and wondered if she would be able to get him all the way over there. Ehe, that seemed quite impossible. Dipping her head to excuse herself, the puppy slinked away from the browner one, running to the water.
She blinked, not knowing how to take the water back, and then Fei spotted a leaf, and her tail began to wag. (It was a large leaf.) She grabbed onto the stem, and dipped it into the water, grinning as water pooled on the surface. Then she bounded back to the Nova Mountain puppy. slowly lowering the leaf before him, only just realizing how funny it was. "Yew're sick," she stated bluntly, wondering briefly if it was /the/ sickness.
She flashed him a grin, "But yew'll feel better soon- yew'll see!"

o: Meanie!
i've got nothin' but problems
Arsenio dreamily watched the white puppy depart from him to go to the water's edge, thus bringing back a large leaf filled with glimmering water. Features dumbly swishing into a smile, he jumbled his thanks, and slushily thought of how kind this Fei was. Even the way he drank from the cupped leaf was awkward - it seemed that he hadn't much hand-eye coordination left over after all of this stumbling around.
She stated the obvious, though it seemed like a revelation to Arsenio. He blinked to her, dumbfounded. He groaned. "Ooooh. I'm no' suppos' t'get sick." he mumbled, lying down and placing his timber head on his still oversized paws. "'M suppos' t'help e'eryone tha's sick. 'S wha' 'm suppos' t'do." In his state, he had a bad time with repeating himself, probably because he soon forgot that he said it before. He let his head roll slightly to the side, looking out into the distance. Her optimism was lost upon his strange state, and he simply nodded dumbly.
"Bein' sick sucks." he said, rubbing a paw against a throbbing temple.

ooc. Sorry.... ILY <3
ic. She frowned at Arsenio; she couldn't help but feel sorry for the brownish puppy- she hated being sick, and the male obviously didn't look too comfortable. Wagging her tail, she observed his symptoms, not that she knew anything that was happening, and what type of medicine should be used for what type of sick symptom- maybe she should go look for Chogan and ask him for some help, he was much smarter than her in the area of plants. Feeling sorry for him, she attempted to soothe him, high-pitched puupy voice sounding in the air.
"Issokay, Ars'nio, it's not yewr fault that you're sick." Wagging her tail energetically, she began to speak once more- she could sympathize with him; she, too, had taken the job of becoming a medic (assuming that was what Arsenio was doing) for the time being, so that she could try and look for the sickness with the big group of puppies and adults that were doing the same thing. She grinned, the gesture stretching across widely across her face, as she attempted to brighten the air.
"Yew can steell help, yew know?" she wagged her tail, "Maybe we can try some herbs on yew! Yew can even try it on yourself!" She wagged her tail, hoping that her enthusiasm would spread to the male.

Now 8 threads. XD -has been a procrastinating bitch-
Arsenio had been sick before, but it was that kind've flu-ish cold sort've thing. Nothing like this. This was a sickness that didn't seize you - it simply caught you off-guard. A sickness that you didn't even know had you until it was too late, like a few minutes ago. It tapped into his mind and made him completely believe falsity - a very alarming side-effect of the water indeed. Arsenio swore that he'd never drink water again that second, though he forgot his vow the next.
He smiled lop-sidedly to her optimism, knowing that it wasn't his fault that he was in such a strange state health-wise. But when he had gone and played and drank the water around the Cascades, they knew not of anything wrong with it. Arsenio briefly wondered if his brother Indris was also sick, or Siaqi - the two wolves that he had gone to the Lake with. Indris, he didn't know, but his mother seemed fine. But parents always seemed good, until you found them broken at night...
He smiled to her suggestion. "Soun's like a plan." he said warmly, trying to get to his feet. He succeeded - a sign that his confusion was retreating. "Fei, d'you wanna be a Medic? 'f so, I c'n teech'ya some stuffs." He smiled rougishly. The apprentice would become the mentor!

ooc. -supposed to be writing essay about the Battle of Cajamarca- Pshh, 8? Only? -owes 11- AND! This'll be my last post, so we can start a new thread. >D
ic. February had no parents (of course, later on Cypress would adopt her. :D), and yet she was still managing to live by herself, proudly doing everything that she needed to do just for herself, oweing nothing to no one. In a way, that made her feel proud, the fact that she would be able to exist if she were alone, but February liked being with other wolves. She loved company, no matter what type of company it was, unless it was with a wolf set out to kill her, of course. After a long trek by herself, from Autumn Moon to the Salvajes, she had grown to appreciate the presence of others more, and it made her feel happier than she had ever been.
She blinked at the male's enthusiastic offer, and couldn't help but smile. Yes, being a medic appealed to her, but she also loved watching the stars, and she loved hunting too, for that matter. Fei would find it hard to decide on a skill that she would like to settle on, that was for sure. Ears twitched, and February giggled, though her words were thoughtfully serious, "I don't know..." she began, "'t sounds fun, yessum, bu' I like to hunt, and to watc' the stars too." However, that didn't stop the female from feeling grateful, and she leaned forwards to let her muzzle meet his, in an apologetic and thankful way.
Fei glanced up at the sky, suddenly noticing the time, and she turned to Arsenio, smiling sheepishly. He seemed better, so she'd be able to leave him here without feeling guilty. "It'sa getting dark, I betta' go." She wagged her tail in farewell to the male, and bounded off, shouting a "BYE!" over her shoulder.

I'll wrap this up, and one of us can start new thread? o:
Arsenio smiled to her answer. She had more options to her, it seemed. Arsenio had become a Medic to follow in his brother's, Indris', footsteps. Of course, that wasn't the only reason - he also wanted to help save lives (especially from the likes of the epidemic around the Valley now), as well as make himself a valuable member of the Nova Mountain pack. He wanted to be a boy that his family would be proud of.
"Don' let me press'a y'into anythin'." he said simply, smiling. A Skywather or a Hunter sounded as if it would suit Tantamount Fei more than Medic anyway. Well, from the few minutes he had been with her. And he didn't know much, seeing as though he could've hardly seen straight in his previous delirious state.
He had lost complete track of time. It seemed to have flown across. The sky was, indeed, darkening to a pitch when the whiteish puppy brought the subject about, and Arsenio simply remarked upon the quickness of the afternoon. It would be hard to find her way back to the Creek in the dark, so Arsenio heartily agreed and smiled jubiantly to Fei. "Bye, Fei! Hope t'see you 'gain sometime!" he called after her before turning and heading home, his past sickness gone.
