Bronx moved his heavy paws over the moss-dappled cliff as if in slow motion, then leapt from the bow of the ridge, his dark body landing sinuously and his paws immediately continuing their rangy pace. His muzzle moved westwards and glanced over the position of the sun, then back over the horizon that he scanned with quick fire eyes. The air in the distance seemed misty with rain and the dark rainclouds above, but one could make out the landmarks well if they knew them well enough. And Bronx passed this way every day; being a Guardian, it was his duty. And being a practiced Guardian, it was not only his duty, but his habit and his preferences. His patrols consisted of the same paces; in the morning he would often take the long route round, but not cover the entire borders (for half of them were shrouded in the depths of the mountain range itself), and later on he would venture easily into the high altitudes of the mountains, but take shortcuts on the way down.
This was one such shortcut – over cliffs and down the eager slope of a mountain side scattered with pebbled and scree. Bronx now walked along a rocky path and towards some of the utmost outer recesses of Nova Mountain. On occasion he would go even further out so he was outside the pack lands, and this was one such case, for he spotted a rocky slice of the back of Whisper Forest that he had not seen before.
Not glancing back towards the border of Nova Mountain that he was yet to walk entirely round, he instead headed for the tunnel and the trees stretched and leaned far above him, catching the thin droplets of quiet rain that would otherwise dampen his rugged black coat. Bronx found himself in an area of Nova Mountain he had not been to before – he assumed that this was because the tunnel appeared to be the only way to get there. Actually… was this part of Nova Mountain? It had never fitted into his patrols and was too far south to be even near the marked borders. No; this was a new territory. A new part of the Salvajes. And beneath the hulking great shadow of Nova Mountain it lay there patiently as if in waiting.

What is this? An Orli thread with no replies?! Blasphemy! I know we just finished a thread, but I couldn't resist when I saw this 'un. Hope you don't mind, and sorry about the tedious length of this reply. :)
It had taken her a long time to get here. Looking around her, taking in a scenery not yet seen before, she was satisfied with her discovery. It really wasn't "her" personal discovery, for it was not unlikely that other wolves had ventured here before her, but there was still an air of secrecy about this place that somehow made it more...personal. An almost eerie silence hung in the air, much of the land shrouded in the shadows of the mountains around it and the air seeming to feel much cooler than normal. It was an atmosphere in which one might have been hesitant to speak for fear of disturbing the place, of somehow "waking it up".

A light drizzle had begun to fall, the fine droplets clinging to her fur and whispering in the trees around her. She closed her eyes, just listening for a moment. It was so peaceful here. Such silence and solitude were things that had grown rather rare since she had taken up residence in the Salvaje Valley, and for a moment she allowed herself to get lost in the sound of the rain on the world around her.

But not for long – there was exploring to do. Moving away from the rocky ledge on which she stood, she descended toward ground level by hopping down several large boulders and sliding down a rather steep incline. How she had gotten up there, how she had even wound up finding this place to begin with, were somewhat beyond her. She had gone all over the place, here and there and everywhere out of her way to avoid Nova Mountain's pack boundaries, so along the way she had gotten a bit disoriented in her direction. She recognized the tunnel through which she had come, though, and headed toward it to get her bearings. The rain was still the only sound, faint and secretive all around her, and she was surprised when she noticed another figure ahead.

It was a shadow, a living embodiment of darkness itself, that moved as smoothly as the occasional stray raindrops that ran, glistening, down and off of his inky black pelt. He was a familiar shadow, however, and Sphinx recognized him immediately. It was Bronx, the Novan Guardian she had met only days before. She had liked the male almost immediately, which was a rare thing in her case, and she had thought him to possess a reserved dignity and a light sense of humor that were both admirable qualities. She was hesitant to disturb him, figuring that he was probably enjoying the peace like she had been, but he had more than likely already seen her and she did not want to seem rude or evasive. Therefore, she padded quietly toward him and as she approached, she spoke in a friendly, somewhat hushed tone, "Nice here, is it not?"

Edited. Errr. Woops. xP Dblpost with a side of french fries. =D Can anyone (namely Houkie xD) name Greenie’s ghost? >D

Here it was. Word had just begun to spread about the Salvaje, and wolves from all packs suddenly had begun to leak into the forgotten paradise. Green himself had been paying frequent visits since its discovery, just to watch over it—just to bask in the history. This had been his grandfather's home. His elusive, dead grandfather he had heard so many stories about. Green had always wanted to quite literally be his grandfather when he had been younger. Bhreac’s stories had painted him as the most regal of nobility with the ability to persuade anyone to do anything with sweet words. He had been a hero of large size, with a brilliant white coat that made his elusive arctic history known to everybody—he had golden eyes, too, Green had decided. It didn’t make sense that the alpha of his pack had had another color, since they had been so keen on isolating himself and those freaky green eyes of his.

Rain clouds clotted the skies, dark, colossal masses turning the summery blue into an atramentous grey. Green’s eyes danced to and fro, vibrant pinpricks of emerald contrasting greatly against his dreary surroundings. They seemed as lime beacons, cutting through the fog and the rain and the murk until they faded with the shadows. Just like the specters within. Skillful planning brought him through the tunnel without crossing into Novian territory, his ivory body cutting like a knife through the darkness as he traveled onwards. The mists seemed to thicken once within—he felt like a character in a fairytale, waiting beneath the writer’s pen in a far off land. With the faintest stroke of the pencil, the wolf had begun again, meandering through the lands.

In a way Green felt personally responsible for them—he had, without really thinking about it, taken up the responsibilities of a pack’s guardian in relation to the new territory. He visited it often, the great nostalgia that seemed to echo in the gentle rustle of trees leaves engulfing him in a sea of memories lost. Whatever had happened in his Grandfather’s life—in Bhreac’s life—was a secret. They had kept it so, and now, since he was so far away and now tied down (not unwillingly) by a family and a pack, there was no hope of questing for answers. His eyes darted to the left, a gentle trickle of movement flashing behind the grainy trunk of a great oak. Licking his lips, Green pursued. He had seen a great variety of strange things in this land—the most prominent being, presumably, a ghost or two.

They no longer frightened him. They were fleeting glimpses of shapely, protean shadows was all—they never spoke, never moved towards him. Just floated about on their way and left him to his toils. But they intrigued him no matter the time that passed; ears flattened onto his head, his pace quickening as he followed the dim spectre, weaving through brush and bramble. The closer he got, the more the shadows seemed to come together, strings of mist pulled together in an ethereal loom until the vague outline of a wolf came into view—its legs were short and compacted, its body mimicking. She moved quickly, the ghostly female, her speed unmatched as she raced through the terra—he only caught fleeting glimpses. Her eyes were as pale as water, her face slender and sharp at the same time—there was something spiky and unkind about her that made the wolf wary.

Her body suddenly flickered like the dying light of a candle and disappeared into the distance, a beam into the shadows. She had lived here before, he knew—he’d seen her several times. Perhaps she’d been a member of one of the packs? She seemed quite controversial, quite lacking amicability, so he liked to imagine her in the Creek. With Sphinx. It would’ve been a hoot, if the personality he’d given her actually fit. Green stifled a chuckle, about to turn about and leave when a voice reached him. The wolf froze. For a moment he mistook it for the voice of his ghostly companion, but soon he put a face to the tone. Speak of the devil. Turning on his heals; the wolf quickly came across the snowy alpha and Bronx. Two acquaintances. A grin split his muzzle, his tail wagging amicably behind him as he dipped his head respectfully. “Fancy meeting you two here…I thought it was just me and the ghosts.” The wolf winked playfully, bumping his shoulder warmly against Sphinx’s.

This post is pretty.. crap. Sorry it sucks xD

Lonan wasn't alone. He could've sworn there were eyes upon him. No, he assured himself It's Bhreac again. The Gamma pup groaned with his confusion and stared coldly over his shoulder and behind him Shtop foll'win' meh, Bhreac! And he sent forth a defensive growl. Surely his mild threat would send his father's lookalike child on a differant direction, or even back home. She had most likely been following him, wondering just why he was sneaking out of the den again. He huffed quietly, glaring out into a void darkness. When there was no response (Bhreac always responded, even if she was playing tricks, the stupid girl that she was), he dropped his tail and smoothed velvet ears back against his head before creeping on and farther into an unknown land.

Lonan had followed the scent of his father, and taken the same path he had taken to reach the strange territory. So he knew that, if he grew too cowardly, he could always tilt his muzzle back and call for the white Gamma himself. But the Roux-Abrhen youth wouldn't give in so easily. Lonan was a strong pup, and he had faith in himself to find Green on his own without getting lost. As he gazed ahead, focussed on the path before him, a cold finger caressed his back (which was really a raindrop) and he yelped in fright before leaping into a frantic run. He darted down the slopes, farther into the darkness and in the direction of the group he never knew were there. As soon as he saw the white forms, Lonan skidded and gazed on. Who - or what - were these? But with a quick few inhales of a fatherly scent, the youth bounded closer toward the emerald-eyed brute. I dun' likes it 'ere, Daddy! He spluttered and clung to Green's leg. Wh-why'ssa chyou heres?

Glancing round, he watched the other pale form, and a darker form near her own. Blinking curiously, Lonan whimpered rather fearfully. He was in no state for greeting and snuggling tonight, and instead pressed farther into Noch's fore. Even under the protective watch of his father - and a cousin and a friend - Lonan continued to tremble violently. He closed his blue eyes over, to block out the real world and crawled under Green's physique to shield himself from the eyes that were seemingly watch him.

*Gazes round thread* Houkie, you magnet.

Bronx walked on, his heavy paws leaving damp tracks in the cold stone, having stepped in a fair number of drizzle-educed puddles. He proceeded as if he would break the very ground, for a place unexplored was a place that was delicate to new touch – this strange place was a virgin amongst the landscape. It was beautiful, though, and fresh, and although Bronx didn’t tend to appreciate nor even care about good-looks when it came to the scenery, he understood its youth and diligence. Yet was it really so new and so young? Just because he stepped on here now and sensed little to no other wolf presences, it did not make this place undiscovered and unexplored. But no… he was being humble. The Guardian had been in these parts for months now and each step was merely re-tracing a map in his head. This strange territory was new. Simply because he hadn’t been there before.
His silky black ear flickered almost directly against the top of his head as he felt a presence before he picked up the scent and perhaps it had been something else before, but now the presence emerged in the form of Sphinx. Almost feline in her elegance like her powerful namesake. Yes… he whispered in his low voice, lowering his dark head so it was closer to hers as if they were part of some hushed conspiracy, as far as we can tell, he finished with a faint and playful smile.
Their could-be discussion was interrupted then by an apparent father and so team. First Green, who dipped his head respectfully – thus warranting a swift but friendly nod from Bronx, who was very much equal to this wolf where they were now – and then Lonan, who seemed terrified of something. Ah, so you’re the father of my little friend, Green? he said, vaugely surprised (he had been wondering what irresponsible parents let their son out of their care so bloody often). He turned and followed the youngsters’ gaze. There was nothing there. Perhaps Bronx’s “ghosts” were overcome simply by his own reasoning.

*Picks metal objects off of herself* Yes, evidently I am magnetic! :)
If there was one thing about this place that stood out to Sphinx above all of its other qualities, it was the silence. It was so quiet here. It was unlike anything Sphinx had ever experienced before. Even when she had first stepped foot upon the Silver Creek territory last summer – before any other wolves had arrived and it was completely uninhabited – those lands had not been this still and quiet. All around them, the land seemed to be listening to every word they say, every breath they took, and for a moment Sphinx was mystified by it. There was something...supernatural about this place.

As Bronx replied in tones that equaled hers in lowered volume, she nodded and returned his smile. “As far as they could tell” was right, for they had only just begun to explore this place. There was no telling what they might discover beyond this stony foyer in which they lingered. “It's so quiet here,” she spoke, her voice once again hushed almost secretively, “I almost don't want to spea–” she stopped midsentence as she detected the presence of another, and look 'round to see that it was her cousin, Green.

He bumped her fondly on the shoulder in greeting and she gave him a smile in return. Accompanying him was a small pup, from whose behaviour and the obvious way in which he addressed Green as “daddy”, Sphinx deduced he was one of her cousin's children. She had not yet seen the pups since she had visited the den on the day of their birth, and was momentarily in awe of how quickly this one, who she figured to be Lonan, had grown. However, he seemed to be rather fearful of something and clung to his father's leg, and while she was sympathetic for him she was also curious about what exactly this puppy was afraid of. “Hello, Green,” she greeted, figuring from Bronx's words that the two had not yet met. “Bronx, this is my cousin, Green. Green, this is my friend Bronx, the Guardian of Nova Mountain.” She always felt a little silly introducing folks to one another, and her attention fell to the pup at Green's leg. “What's got you all worked up there, young fellow?” All of her words were spoken softly so as not to disturb the listening lands, and a warm smile was directed at Lonan as she spoke to him.

*dances* *throws a box of paper clips at the biskit* :]

Lonan, apparently, had taken a liking to following his restless father. Green went to and fro in the valley, dipping and weaving through any and every territory—he, contrary to his younger years, thrived on socialization during the daylight hours, and solitude at night. He often left the family’s den late at night to go to one place or the other; some habits died hard. A fond smile creased the wolf’s maw as his son pressed himself against his foreleg. The ivory behemoth dropped to his haunches, maneuvering Lonan between his front legs, tucked into his feathered stomach. Licking the boy’s head cajolingly, the wolf shrugged. “You’re not afraid, are you, amour?” Green responded with a joking lilt to his voice, holding the pup close and shifting his attention to the others.

Vibrant eyes turned towards his cousin’s equally striking ones, his tail swaying gently behind him. The same eerie, chilled feeling that filled the others seemed to have an opposing effect on the white Gamma. He relished the sort of horror story façade the territory had. It made him feel like he’d fallen right into one of Bhreac’s enchanting tales, made him feel … at home. A feeling which, despite his love and loyalty towards the Fields, had been guiltily fleeting since the demise of Gold Moon. Nodding at the Creeker’s introductions, Green smirked. “Aye, we’ve met. Actually, we met in the Mountain along with a little pup who might interest you.” The wolf quirked a brow, his slight grudge towards the ebb and flow of Endore’s faded and worn like a pair of jeans. “Yuna Endore.” The wolf concluded, nodding.

His gaze shifted again, and the wolf nodded enthusiastically to Bronx’s inquiry. Apparently the Roux-Abrhen trio had been getting around more than either of the parents knew…but as ‘Silver was the alpha, and Green the gamma, unfortunately, every moment couldn’t be spent with the puppies. So they wandered about occasionally—it wasn’t a lack of caring or responsibility on the parent’s part that allowed them to do so. Quite the contrary—it was the respect and affection they felt for their neighbors. Green had yet to meet a wolf who had a troubling personality, yet to meet a wolf who he wouldn’t trust around his children. Except perhaps Oni, but that was debatable. “The secrets out—Lonan here’s m’boy.” The Gamma responded casting a fond glance towards his offspring.

You're not afraid, are you amour? Lonan sighed shakily, feeling more at ease in this strange place with his father's affections. After a few long moments of gathering his usual courage, Lonan shook his head and glared playfully up at the white brute. I-I's not scared The pup managed to stammer and snorted lightly before he dropped to his stomach. Outstreaching a forelimb, Lonan lowered his head to settle his muzzle upon his upper leg, blinking curiously. What was that feeling he had? It was as if someone - or something - was either watching or following him. Tensing at the uncomfortable shiver, the youth placed his free paw over his snout and closed his eyes just to think. Velvet black ears smoothed back against his head, and Quicksilver's lookalike son heaved a somewhat relaxed sigh.

When the question directed at him from the cousin he barely knew, Lonan shifted his paw from his baby blues to peer up into the caring features and glorious turquoise eyes and offer a shy smile and a respectful dip of his muzzle. KI-I dunno, he began, shifting his gaze to cast a glance in Bronx's direction I thoughs Bhreac was foll'win' meh 'gain. He looked away, feeling rather embaressed for being afraid of nothing. Or was it really nothing? Looking up to send a quiet whimper in the hueless Gamma's direction, then back to the duo before him. It's so... he paused and looked to te side, past an alabaster fore and toward the shadows of the trees Diff'ren'? His final word was soft and hushed, as if someone was listening to him.

Lonan pulled himself up to scramble closer to his sire's paws, and rest his head against his foreleg and watch his adult friend and second cousin curiously. Why were they sitting here? In a place so differant, so strange, the young Gamma pup couldn't quite figure out why the adult trio would be here, or what attracted him to it. Perhaps it was how peaceful it had beome. No matter how dark and mysterious.

Bronx nodded subtly – yes, it was quiet, but perhaps it was something to due with their newfound attitude to this place. It did have a slightly eerie feel about it, but Bronx assumed perhaps correctly that this was due to the newness of it all. There were no wolf tracks here at all, nor scents, and, as he had discovered during the action itself, there had been one way here and one way only. And it had been rather specific in its intricacy.
As both Sphinx and her apparent cousin Green expressed concern for the youngster and inquiries as to why or how he was scared, Bronx glanced briefly from one sheer pale wolf to the other. Yes, they were slightly similar; he noticed a vague family resemblance, but since he didn’t spend all his time trying to spot them, it didn’t effect him all that much. He quirked his brow at Sphinx briefly, wondering if she was joking when she introduced them. Bronx had called Green by name… which obviously meant that he knew his name, right? So why was Sphinx introducing them?
So he made no comment to the mistaken introduction, nor to Green’s statement that they had indeed met and there was no reason for Sphinx’s polite words. As the male mentioned Yuna, Bronx resisted rolling his eyes. Oh, here we go again – family talk. Green had got rather verbally violent, speaking of Yuna’s grandmother as a “bitch” and “whore” or something, which the Guardian had disapproved of before he left – and made sure Green knew. It seemed he had stumbled across a big tangle of family connections, and it was frankly rather annoying.
His eyes softened at the stunningly selfish but loveable puppy, but soon he dismissed his words. First time he and Lonan had met, Bronx and a certain Mount Shadow Zeta were at the beginnings of an interesting convo. Then the little one had come along, basically screaming LOVE ME LOVE ME LOOK AT ME LOOK HOW CUTE I AM which had been a brilliantly negative first impression. Nevertheless, Bronx did like Lonan, which was a little against his character. This time, the puppy conversation would not take over the more important adult one. Yes, he said, his low voice still rather quiet as he stood up to his full height in order to scan the area, I’m surprised I’ve never come across this place before. I admit there’s something “different”, about it, as the boy says. But what else would one expect from a tributary of Whisper Forest?

*is slow* :\

--------------------------------

Sphinx nodded silently in response to the others' remarks. (Couldn't resist, I'm sorry all, hehe.) Green smiled wistfully at his son's indignance, bumping his nose fondly against the grey boy's head. His tail wagged amicably behind him, his vibrant eyes flitting around with a lack of curiosity. Green knew this territory better than he knew the fields -- he seemed to spend more time in it, as it were. He had been the first wolf to set paw in it for years. As such, the behemoth felt personally responsible for this little chunk of the Valley. Smiling still, Green nodded at Bronx's words, stifling the need to boast.

"It's quite eerie. I sware there's a ghost following me about." Green responded with a wink, allowing the statement to remain ambiguous in relation to whether or not her was serious. "I come here a lot." Green admitted for clarification, deciding it best to leave out the family connections -- they didn't seem to please Bronx much. He shrugged inwardly. Different strokes for different folks. Green's tail continued to wag gently behind him, his vibrant eyes sparkling with interest as the mists swirled around him.

The sterling youth remained propped against his father's feathered belly, peering straight ahead and passed the hueless Sphinx and toward trail of which he'd came. Although he had been terrified only short moments ago, his father's tender comforts had calmed his troubled mind but he continued to warily glance in the same direction. Something wasn't right there, and he had no desire to go back and find out just what was 'following' him. With a quiet, confused whimper, the raven-tipped youth looked curiously up at Bronx, who had spoken of the territory's strange feel. With an enthusiastic nod in agreement, Lonan slid his gaze in Sphinx's direction to catch her own nod.

Then Green had mentioned a ghost. Struck with wonder, the youngster tilted his head back to watch the white male's chin curiously, his eyes wide and 'brows' furrowed together. Daddy? he said gently, flickering a dark ear and flicking his tiny tongue over his lips, silent until he was sure he had Noch's attention Wassah 'ghost', huh Dad? And he stared on in wait for his answer.

But his fater had said he came here a lot? Blinking in disbelief, the grey youth snorted quietly and dropped his head to stare at a large, pale forepaw and batted it gently. He'd already interrupted once, and wasn't about to do it again. He figured that, after being the cause of many ill moods, Lonan had learned to be 'seen and not heard' instead of rabbling on and on about random topics as he usually did. Huffing lightly, the little Prince instead lingered the baby blue of youth upon the features of the Creek's Alphess. Seeing her eventually, after hearing so much about her felt so good.

OOC – thanks for the consideration, Houkie. ^^ Though I’m sure we wouldn’t have minded waiting. :)

As brief smile hovered over Bronx’s dark features as Green carried on about ghosts – wow, not really the best with young puppies, then. The white wolf been cursing and talking with sudden aggression on the borders of Nova Mountain at a puppy he didn’t know and now he was in danger of scaring his own son. Nevertheless, he remained a fairly chipper fellow in Bronx’s mind and seemed friendly and a good father, despite the “bachelor” attitude with pups that he still seemed to possess.
At mention of the eeriness once more, Bronx nodded and turned his muzzle towards the sky, neck exposed, to watch the darkness that was cast over the area by the overpowering mountain range, I like it, he mused before returning his gaze back down towards the others. Lonan’s question amused him (as it would most) and Bronx glanced at Green, waiting to be entertained. What would the answer be this time from mister sweet-but-tactless? Ghosts, son, are the re-lighted, eerie and terrifying visions of dead people that come to haunt us and scare little puppies like you out of their wits. That'd be a good one.

Alrighty, I is back. :)
There was, indeed, something eerie about this place far beyond the obvious silence and supernatural stillness that had been evident to her on her first visit. There was something...watchful about it, something living. The land seemed to stir with a secretive movement that fell still as soon as she turned, unnerved, to glance behind her. Was that just the rustle of the leaves behind her? Had that whispering noise merely been the wind? Somehow, she was glad she was in the company of others right now. Not that she was frightened, mind you, but this didn't exactly seem the type of place to welcome lone strangers. "I think I do as well," she replied in response to Bronx's brief comment. It was eerie, but...different.

Though she had yet to witness them herself, Sphinx would not have been surprised if there really were ghosts on these lands. There had been times she could have sworn she had heard something, knew she had seen something...and yet had she? As soon as she stopped to listen or turned to look, it was all quiet and peaceful again. The trees seemed to whisper knowingly all around her and at that moment, she felt that sensation of being watched again. She looked down at Lonan, slightly perturbed by the innocence in her young cousin's question. She left the answering to Green, figuring it was Daddy's job to answer to the youth's fears.

That's the ghosts, boy. That feeling, that prickly sensation that tells you you're being stalked...

Dogonit. I was just getting to be more prompt, too. I'm unbelievably sorry, guys. D:

Green listened to Lonan's question, twisting his face with thought in response. The wolf was a master of tales -- he had, after all, been the lorekeeper of Strawberry Fields for a good amount of time. He had worn the label with pride, and carried the memory fondly. It had always been his goal, since he was first promoted from subordinate and the option became available. He did not, however, have any complaints at the co rank being stricken. Biting his lip, the wolf continued to think. Yes, Green was a notorious storyteller -- but those were Bhreac's words. And when he made up a story, it was the words of the characters. He himself lacked any eloquence whatsoever.

"Errr..." Green began, and already his brows were furrowed. It was obvious the wolf was inexperience in the area of parenting -- of course the behemoth loved his children dearly, and wouldn't trade them for the world. But what exactly he said to them, did with them...he couldn't begin to fathom. Especially in front of others. He always felt as if they were waiting for him to trip up. Which he had, by provoking Lonan's curiosity. But he was learning, hopefully.

Breathing outwards and shifting his weight, the wolf tried again. "They're mirages, m'boy. Just your imagination -- when you're in an eerie place, all by yourself, sometimes you see things that aren't really there...?" The phrase tapered up towards the end, leaning into a question at his own insecurities. Shaking his head, though, the wolf blinked, turning his attention to Bronx. Yes, I'm glad you like it. You're welcome. "I agree. It's very peaceful." And Sphinx concurred.

Lonan stared on up at his father, longingly awaiting the answer to his question. He seemed to be confused himself, and when Lonan set a glance upon each is cousin and Novan friend, he noticed that they were watching Green as well, almost as if they were waiting to be entertained. With a flicker of a dark ear, the sterling youth slid his eyes back up to linger them upon his father's features, his peppered tassel tucked neatly around a tensed hind limb.

And eventually, there came an answer. Cocking his muzzle rather cutely, the young Indris namesake blinked in wonder. That didn't make any sense at all! How could the ghosts be of his imagination, if everyone els could see or feel them? Whenever he'd imagine things, they'd be pleasant and exciting, like the day he and Bhreac had taken their trip to the stars. As afraid as he was, Lonan smiled at the memory.

He looked around at the adults again, scrunching his nose in disbelief. They liked being around an area that was flodded with creepy ghosts that made you feel unwelcomed and stalked you? More confused than ever, the little Prince ddropped dramatically to his stomach, outstreaching a forelimb and tucking the other near his chest. He pressed his muzzle against Green's paw, huffing into it and closing his eyes.

The first-born Roux-Abrhen reopened his eyes several moments later, lifting his crown from Noch's paw and stared at Bronx, then Sphinx. He gently rose his little self and stepped gingerly out from under his father's physique. He looked around warily, refusing the urge to back up and hide again. He had to be strong and brave if he was to show his parents that he was better than his siblings - than anyone else. With a quiet woof in warning to the 'ghosts', the youngster seated himself directly in the center of the trio.

And then there was a rustle of leaves, a quick and icey breath of wind that caught his coat, and Lonan dived blindly directly under Sphinx's belly, clinging comically to her leg.

Had Bronx cared enough about the intricacies of socialising with acquaintances, he would have noticed that Sphinx and he looked more alike than ever as they shared the same musings, gazing towards the peace on which they commented. Though hopefully some amusement was coming up so he glanced back towards the Silver Creek Alpha’s cousin, the tip of his tail flickering in a friendly manner as he awaited Green’s response to his son.
Bronx raised a brow and glanced back towards the trees for Green’s hesitant answer was far from entertaining. It was just what one would tell their son honestly; he had been hoping for the white male to slip up and the poor wee mite of his question him even more. It seemed that the amusements of today were over, apart from Lonan diving beneath Sphinx so the Guardian got to his feet. “I’ll be off – back on border patrol. Nice to see you Sphinx; Green,” he nodded at both before dipping his head to peer down at the scared pup, “you hunt those ghostly scoundrels down, boy,” he said light-heartedly before leaving the family to themselves as he moved from the mysterious new lands.

Lords, that's a beautiful table, Orli. I think I'm going to take my leave here as well, guys. Gotta wrap some of these threads up. :)
Despite Sphinx's immediate liking for this place, something about it...bothered her. The way the trees swayed and rustled, the way the wind whispered in their boughs, the way the shadows danced this way and that...this place was alive. And somehow, in some way, they were not alone.

The uneasy feeling did not leave her as she heard Green's reassuring reply to his son. Somehow, it just didn't feel right being here. Call it a gut feeling, call it an Alpha's instinct, call it whatever. Sphinx just felt that they weren't supposed to be in these lands. As Lonan dived, terrified, beneath her belly, the Alpha stood and looked around warily. Bronx announced that he was taking his leave a moment later, and Sphinx bade him farewell with an accompanying wave of her tail. That wasn't such a bad idea, in Sphinx's opinion. Looking at Green, she spoke to her cousin, "Green, it doesn't feel right being here." It probably sounded strange following her last comment on how she liked it here, but she couldn't ignore the nagging voice in the back of her mind telling her that this was somehow wrong. "I think it would be a good idea if we went back." With that, she backed away from the two, giving Lonan an affectionate nuzzle, and made her way out the same way that Bronx had gone, gesturing for her two cousins to follow her if they wanted.

Kk. Nice threadin' with ya'll :D

Green nodded to Bronx as he departed, grinning at his remark to Lonan. "See ya," he called in response, although quickly clamped his mouth shut, not liking the way his voice carried through the mist and fog. An echo in this quiet was eerie, to say the least. Giving his tail a few wags, and casting a glance about the territory once more, Green turned to Sphinx and Lonan -- nodding as she two decided to leave him on his lonesome. However, Green had other plans, and, making sure Lonan was following the wolf slowly caught up with Sphinx, his eyes seeming phosphorescant in the lighting.

Pausing a few feet behind her as he waited for the grey puppy to catch up, Green observed their surroundings once more; a flash of fur shot betwixt the elms, the glitter of an eye. A shiver trailed the white wolf's spine, and for a fleeting moment, he wondered if the Valley's ghosts were ghosts at all.

Nice threading, guys! <3 The little Prince remained under Sphinx's belly in a crumpled heap, trembling madly and whimpering pathetically. There was no way that he could be a brave wolf in this state, being so terrified of something that wasn't there. He peered up, watching Bronx curiously as he bid farewell to his father and cousin, and dipped his head to speak to him. There was a mild wave of courage that swept over him, and the pup offered a polite smile to his Novan friend. you hunt those ghostly scoundrels down, boy, He didn't really want to hunt them down, let alone think about them, but just to sound brave, Lonan tilted his muzzle upward and waved his peppered tail slowly H'okay, I will. He woofed his own goodbye as the black male turned away and returned to his border control. Bye, Bronx!

And that's when Sphinx stepped over him. With a surprised yip, the youth rose his little self and looked around, his eyes wide as he scanned his distant surroundings for danger, but found nothing but the same emptiness. With a heaved breath through parted jaws, Lonan looked up at his aqua-eyed cousin, who seemed to have grown a little unsure of the new-found territory. He gave a concerned whine, nudging at her affectionately as she lowered her crown to nuzzle him. She wanted to leave, she'd said, and Lonan gave a quiet woof of agreement. Yeah, less'go. And he started off after Sphinx and his Daddy.

He paused behind Green, ho had halted in wait for him. He stopped at his side, following his neon emerad gaze just as there was a glimmer of an eye and a shimmer of smooth pelt in the moonlight. Lonan'd had enough, and he felt an uncomfortable shiver trace his spine before he nodded to his father and cantered up to trot alongside Sphinx, barking for Noch to hurry up.
