1-2 please! For whoever want to explore and find out this "ghost-like" thing. We ought to add a twist to it at the end. XD
After hearing through the grapevine of a curiously abandoned territory south of Nova Mountain, Takashi could not help but seek out this unknown area, interested in exploring the mysterious place that had never been discovered or detected until recently. Knowing him, he would wish to seek out any place possible and travel about it until it was investigated enough to his liking. He had done it with the mutual territories – even with the Forbidden Swamp, which he disliked – so it was only fair to allow this place the same courtesy and to have him take a look at it as well.

Reaching the tunnel, he hesitated momentarily, unsure of what or who he would find – as there were tales of ghosts that lingered there – but at last his inquisitiveness won over and he took the first step into the unknown place. Eyes came out on the other side, goldens turning first to the right and then the left, surveying the area and trying to decide which side to go first. At first sight, it did not seem too different. There was a pond not too far off, a grouping of trees that appeared to be a forest, and a plain further on; it was almost a mixture of all the mutual territories combined.

Stepping out further, he decided to head towards the forest, seeing if there were any different creatures residing in the midst of the branches and between the trunks. Nose was lowered to the ground, sniffing the area and testing out the many scents. For such an “abandoned” area, it sure did have many smells. Tongue lolled out as he lifted his head up to gaze up towards the trees … only to have his eyes catch a glimpse of something moving in the distance. He stiffened, though training his eyes to try and see what had moved. Was it simply a trick of the light, or had he really seen something?

Charm sniffed a mushroom that was rooted at the base of a tree, her cream and white muzzle speckled with crumbs of dirt from one of her earlier diggings. She wasn't quite sure where she was exactly, but she knew in which direction Mount Shadow lay so she wasn't all that worried about being lost. She wasn't too worried about being in danger either, for she hadn't seen any creatures since she had been here. For some reason, it seemed to have been abandoned. Unsurprisingly, she hadn't had much luck trying to catch one of the squirrel's she had chased down here for her snack and had resorted to digging in the brush for something edible to sooth her growling stomach. She sneezed and drew her ears back, the mushroom's aura reaked of rot- eating it would probably be a little risky.

She stepped away from the tree, her deep brown eyes happened to glance over and see a pond a little ways away. Suddenly, she realized that she was quite thirsty from the squirrel chase and headed over to it, in a leisurely trot, not paying attention to her surroundings. After all, she was alone.

Hope you don't mind two threads with me? <<;

One could not force from Spectre why he had wandered so far from Mount Shadow territory into this place. All he knew was, there was something very, very odd about it. Whether it was inducing illusions upon his mind, or simply touching the heavens, he wasn't sure. But it was doing something. He was able to look upon his siblings' eyes for the first time in years. He saw into the light blue ones of his half-a-year old brother Tsume. The kid was how he remembered him - completely white except for one patch of brown (couresy of their mother) that stretched from over his heart over to cover his left shoulder. Iora, his twin, was also with the ghastly form of his departed brother. She was, as their mother had been, a Canadian with light-toned fur and beautiful turquoise eyes. The two were sitting next to each other, around fifteen feet away from Spectre, who watched them sitting as well. It was like a staring contest between the departed and the remaining. No one was winning.

He would've sat there and stared longingly at his deceased family for years if possible. But, as he lowered his head at the sounds of another and the smell of the Mount upon the air, he realized that his reunion was over. When he looked up, his metallic gray eyes couldn't see their forms anymore, though he could sense their presence. The dull, grinding sort of static in the back of his ear, a strange sense into the emotions of the lifeflow, was sparkling with fear. They were afraid of the living, it seemed. But was Spectre not of the living? Who knows. His name was, after all, Spectre.

He moved silently and swiftly to the sound of the other, his head lowered as to sniff out the trail. Eventually, however, he stumbled across the path of a Silver Creek wolf instead. Stiffening into stillness, he looked on to the golden-eyed Creek wolf, his head shifting slightly to the side. He lowered his head into a short bow before mumbling, "This place does not seem to be one of the living." He then straightened, his silver eye darting to the corner of its socket. "And I believe we are not alone."

Thanks for joining!
If he stared long and hard enough, would that certain something appear once more for him to ogle at and observe? Not bloody likely. Though he stood there still and unmoving, whatever the thing was – if it had been there in the first place – had disappeared, along with any trace of the feeling of him being watched in that direction. It was both fascinating and a bit chilling to not know what resided here in this place. A beautiful area it was, but a bit daunting when there was no sign of anyone yet it had been here all this time. Was that even possible?

The words of another behind him caused him to turn abruptly, anticipating to see some weird creature sneaking up on him. He came face to face with another male, this one of Mount Shadow. So intently he had been watching in the distance that Takashi had let his guard down, something that was not at all safe. But gladly, this was a wolf and a neighbor, and he relaxed visibly, tail wagging and a soft chuckle escaping.

”Startled me there for a second. I’m Takashi of Silver Creek. Fancy finding someone else out here at this time.” He glanced back towards the forest in the distance, once again having that feeling of being watched. ”Indeed, we’re not alone. And as much as I would agree with you on those who live here, my nose does not concur with my eyes. How can the dead have scents?” That was what was baffled him to no end.

Charm lapped the stagnant water in the pond, ignoring the green moss and algae that lay on top of it. She raised her head suddenly. She could just barely see something across the water. The multi-colored fur on her back bristled, sensing that something was not right here. A ghostly creature in the shape of a wolf was watching her as he stood near the opposite edge of the pond. Her brown eyes were fixed on him, she could not seem to tear herself away from the eerie being. What was that? A ghost? "There is no such thing as ghosts," She told herself, alarmed. Maybe it was a hallucination from the mushrooms. The only problem with that reasoning was that she had eaten that specific type of mushroom before and had never had any problem with it.

The water must have cleared her senses, for suddenly she smelled the scent of a fellow wolf of whom she did not know. Her eyes followed the direction in which the scent lay. She could see the forms of two wolves a little ways away. One was white- yet another ghost? The other seemed to be talking to it. He seemed to be quite calm to the fact that he was talking to a ghost. She watched, unsure of whether she should approach them or not. She definately did not want to be near another ghost. Just the thought sent shivers through her spine, bristling her fur.

He, though coming and meeting the Creek wolf, felt himself longing to see his siblings again. He wanted to talk with them. He wanted to communicate with them. He had for so long been alone, and for so long wondered if they were both truely gone. His sister, whom he had lost so long ago, must be dead if her ghost haunted this place. Tsume he had known was dead, but at least he hoped that his brother had reached some sort of resting place. Not here. Not where the living could mock him with their breath and soul.

And why was it that they met with him so easily? From what he saw of Takashi and his rapid looking for something, it made Spec wonder if he was naturally tied to them. Half alive, and yet half dead.

In any way, he was here now with the living. The living, that is, being this Silver Creek wolf. This wolf seemed to almost jump at the sight of him (Spec didn't blame him - he did look rather ethereal in this place), but then quickly went to a charismatic state and started to go on talking. Spectre smiled, though the action was more for show than for real friendliness. Takashi of Silver Creek, eh? "Good to meet you, Takashi. Spectre, from Mount Shadow." Only after he introduced himself did he realize how ironic his name was with the situation. Tilting his head slightly to the side to response to the other's question, Spectre merely added, "It is selfish for the living to set themselves aside from the dead. They are only but the living, but with no attatchments to this earth." Maybe he should start a "Dead Rights" movement.

And so, with a gathering of a fresher scent from the Mountain wolf he had smelt before, Spectre lowered his head and deftly padded toward the scent of the other Mountaineer. Eventually, he gathered close to her. She seemed rather new, since the Mount scent was spread thinly upon her coat. He smiled slightly and inclined his head with a tint of politeness. "Hello, miss." he said, ignorant to the fear that showed from the prickling fur on her spine.

Takashi wasn’t sure what to think in this place. However, with another wolf with him, this did not seem like such an intimidating area anymore. If there were those who could come from the valley – residing upon the neighboring pack of Mount Shadow – then it must have been his mind playing tricks on him. Shaking that eerie feeling off, he greeted Spectre officially. ”Nice to meet you, neighbor. Quite a long ways from Mount Shadow, this area is.” Clear from the other side of the valley this male must have traveled, whether to seek out this place on purpose or if it was by simple chance, he would not know for sure.

The response with which his current companion came up with in regards to his query about the scents of the living and that of the dead baffled him for a bit. Did the dead really have scents that he simply did not know about and was unaware of? It was a big scary to think that there were still remnants of one’s essence after the life had seeped out of the physical body. Perhaps in the spirit world, there were ways to identify one from the other, but this array of smells seemed much too real to be … surreal.

But before he could say anything else, attention was turned to another female some distance away, now that Spec had trotted over to her without hesitation. With the approach of Spectre and his unsettling nerves, Takashi had not even noticed the other. Goodness, this place was definitely doing something to him. Regardless, he followed after his Mount Shadow companion, coming upon the female as he dipped his head in greeting. ”Nice to meet you out here as well. Who might you be?” Another Mount Shadow wolf in the midst.

The two wolves conversation seemed to come to an end. Good, the entire affair had sent uncontrollable shivers throughout her body. Her muzzle quivered, suddenly aware that she was in a place that she knew did not welcome her. Ghosts did not mesh well with the living. And she, was very alive. Then, the white wolf, an unearthly being, approached her. Charm took several involuntary steps back, terrified. What would happen if she ran? Would he chase her? You couldn't fight with a ghost, could you? But that was nonsense, there were no such things as ghosts. And yet, in front of her, there was one.

The ghost greeted her politely.. was that a smile? A fresh wave of shivers rushed through her. Her ears drew back uncomfortably. Still, she bowed her head respectfully, her tail quivering, "Good evening, Sir." Was she imagining it- or did he smell... alive? If he was, she was unfamiliar with his scent.

The other wolf, smelling of her mountain home, appeared and greeted her as well. She bowed her head politely and responded in a surprisingly even voice, "Thank you, its a pleasure meeting you as well. I'm Charm." Although her fur on her back was no longer bristled and was laying properly, the fur on her tail was standing on end, as thick as a small tree trunk.

"A little spooky around here, isn't it?" She gave a small smile, trying to lighten her terror. At least she wasn't alone with the not-quite-a-ghost, but-not-quite-normal wolf. That in itself, was somewhat reassuring.

Indeed, this place was far from Mount Shadow. Why was he here? Why did he venture so far from the land that he wanted so bad to return to? Well, he didn't know. Maybe he was naturally drawn to this place. Maybe the spirits of his siblings had drawn him here as well. He didn't know. All he did know was that he was here now, and he would leave eventually. He didn't want to stay in this place too long, because he had the naïve feeling that he would be drawn here forever.

Looking at the other Shadower's response to his being there, Spectre immidiately felt guilty and started to back away, immidiately after Takashi came up behind him and asked a few well-natured questions to the new girl. Disettled and heavy-hearted that he was being an obstruction to a grand day, he simply stood back and allowed the much more charismatic Takashi talk to the Mount Shadow girl. She ended up introducing herself as Charm; Spectre knew nothing of her until this point. Thinking that she had heard his introduction when he spoke it to Takashi, Spectre felt no need to go on, merely nodding when she mentioned the place seeming spooky.

"Yes, it does. Increasingly so, even."

Maybe it was just him being overly paranoid, but was this place seemingly making everyone tense and untrusting? The female had bristled and tensed at the sight of the white male, and he quirked a brow in slight confusion as Spectre backed away a few paces in response to Charm’s reaction. Were the two not packmates, comrades, friends? Obviously not due to what he was witnessing here. But that could undoubtedly be changed today, even if they were in the midst of an unknown territory with more than quite a few questions lingering about the three of them.
Since it appeared that no one was going to speak up next, he took up the task upon himself and began to squelch the silence so that they would have something to do other than standing around ogling at one another. Unsure whether or not she had caught their names from a distance, he thought it best to let themselves be known without having to hold up the conversation. ”I’m Takashi of Silver Creek, and my companion here is Spectre, from your pack of Mount Shadow. What brings you out here, Charm?” He was simply trying to make small talk, anything to get rid of that prickly sense that they were being watched.
But it did not seem like his fears were unfounded. Not too far off, eyes caught yet once more a glimpse of white, moving through the shadows as silently as could be. Not wanting to alarm the … whatever it was … away, he nervously glanced at his two companions, slightly motioning in the direction he had seen the white object. Had he been hallucinating, or did the others see what he did?

Charm was slightly astonished when the eerie wolf had backed away a few steps. Now that she was calmer, she could smell the scent of her own pack, Mount Shadow on him. What had made her miss it before? At least now she knew for sure that he was not a ghost. But why hadn't he introduced himself to her? She was new to Mount Shadow and surely she would have run into him sooner or later. It was unfortunate that she had run into him here, and been afraid of him. Charm tried to think back to her reaction to him, had she been rude? 'Hope not.'

Takashi was from Silver Creek- that would explain the unfamiliar scent he had. He was the first wolf from Silver Creek she had run into. His greeting confirmed her thoughts on Spectre. Her packmate's name fit him perfectly. Perhaps the name of a wolf influences his personality and aura? She tucked the thought away to ponder on later.

She was about to reply to Takashi's question, but her eyes flicked to where his anxious gaze was focused. What the heck was that? Her tail lay still, but she took an involuntary step back. Now that the novelty of the spirits was somewhat wearing away, she was more curious about them than afraid. Her ears were pricked forward. Charm kept her voice low, not wanting to disturb the being,"Are there-" She searched for the right word, "Certain beings here? Apart from the living?" At first, she had doubted it- but now, she was beginning to believe that there were. The other wolves had been here long than she, they would know.

It was not that the action of Spectre's stepping back was upon any other, it was simply because he was a rather submissive wolf by nature and that he didn't really want to frighten anyone any more than necessary. So, watching the expression on the other Mount Shadow wolf as it shifted to a slightly guilty sort of thing, he smiled lightly as to say no hard feelings.
Grateful that Takashi took the liberty of introducing the two of them (Spectre was rather unsettled at this point), the white wolf took a minute to ponder how interestingly perfect his name was and how it was drawn to this place. He was normally not paranoid or anything, but his sense was going off now. As much as he knew it was stupid and 'out-there', was there a possibility that he was supposed to come to this place...?
Though he was listening intently for Charm's response, Spectre's gaze was wandering. It seemed to meander past the point of where the flash of white dashed and, when said event happened, darted right back to the point. The image was gone. The fur on the back of his neck prickling with uncomfort, the words of the other Mountaineer only supplemented his state of fear. "It... seems there are," he said, his voice scarely above a whisper.

OMG, this is freaking me out and I’m the one who started this thread. >.< *is a scaredy dog* LOL!

Was it him or had this place gotten just a bit colder? He was losing his mind, surely! It was simply that sensation that had him running thoughts around in his head, uncertain of what to make of the whole thing that had just seemingly materialized from the darkness and then disappeared quickly once again. Were there really ghosts who resided here that watched the living? And if they were watching those with breath, was it a simple one or a malignant one? Did they simply observe for the sake of watching or were they ogling the living out of jealousy, intent on having what they didn’t have – life.
The latter thought irked him to no degree and he shook himself to clear away the shivers that crept up his spine. This was enough exploring now, and Takashi was not about to stick around any longer to find out what that thing was. If it was a spirit or a ghost, then he simply wished it rest in peace and leave the rest of the wolves alone. If it was a living breathing creature, then he hoped it would allow the wolves to leave now without any sort of trouble.
Glancing at his two companions, he wondered if they would agree to high-tailing it out of this place or if they were still interested in sticking around. Ghost or not ghost, it just didn’t feel right to him. ”What say we head on out of this place, hmm?” Surely they would label him as a scared weakling, but he didn’t really care at this moment. All he knew was that the feeling was still there, the sensation that they were not alone, and he couldn’t help but feel that they had trespassed on sacred grounds.

Charm felt her fur bristle as the temperature dropped. Something here, was not right. She wasn't the only one to notice. The other two were looking as uncomfortable as she. What was that thing? She had an odd sensation to follow it, to try and make out what it was. She bent her thick-furred head down, smoky blue eyes peering into the trees.

Then the male from Silver Creek, Takashi, suggested they leave. Was he afraid then? Afraid of what was unknown? Or was he just being practical- something she was rather lacking. Charm had come by here on accident, but now she felt as if she needed to be here- to explore. She was drawn to the spot where she had last seen the being. Was she imagining it, or could she sense eyes on her? Eyes of the unliving. Taking a soft step towards the direction of where the figure had been, she turned to the others, her eyes glazed over with something unfamiliar. She didn't want to go alone, “Or- we could follow it. See where it is going and most important, what it is. What say you?"

Sorry about this delay! And I thought it would be hilarious if a Tribe wolf magically popped in and said "Boo!" and scared them all out of their minds. XD! And, for some odd reason, I'm getting flashbacks of that Agatha Christie book I read a while back. o__o
Though temperature was not normally something he noticed first and foremost (being from the Arctic, he hardly noticed cooler temperatures), but the chill in the air was apparent. Either it was mentally enforced due to the growing strain of nerves in the area or really there, all that went through the white Shadower's head was that it always, always, got chilly before ghosts appeared...

He had, for a long time, had the creeping sensation along his spine that someone was watching him. It had been there when leaving Mount Shadow, it had been there when he was in the clenches of The Court, it had been there when returning to Mount Shadow, and it had been here with him now. Eyes seemed to be all around the one who named himself Spectre, and he couldn't shake that feeling. However, the feeling seemed to intensify in this area, where the mood was fearful and the air was chilling. Intensify to a violent standard. Not one of the wolves gathered could not notice it...

Spectre was hesitant to agree with Takashi's words (even though he really wanted to oblidge!), and waited until he heard the opinion of Charm. He lingered among the ideas, tracing them out. He wasn't sure where his own opinion went. "Fear is best tracked to the source is what I was always told..." he meandered, tracing back immidiately "But that doesn't mean I have any objections leaving."

He was so indecisive.

Your wish is my command. :D

”I say you ought to listen to your sensible comrade there and leave while you can.” She spoke quietly, giving the effect of an eerie breeze blown right past the three strangers before stepping out from behind the dark shadows where she had stood watching the idiots talk amongst themselves. Sakari had absorbed all of their chit chat, storing their identities inside her mind to be used later should the need arise. There was the Takashi fellow of Silver Creek – the one she labeled as sensible, a Charm of Mount Shadow, and her fellow companion Spectre of the same pack. She was not sure why they had arrived here, nor did she want to know. The most important thing was that they left.

So far, this Takashi had been making the most sense out of the three, knowing that there was the scents that could be found within the territory and thus refusing to believe in the rumors of ghosts and phantoms. However, it was also a downside of him still remaining here. If he had detected the presence of another, he should have gone back and left the other two to their own devices. The female she glared at the most, having openly suggested the trio to follow further into the depth of the claimed area. The third, the white male, she was still debating upon. A wishy washy sort of fellow, it seemed that even he didn’t know which route to take. Well, perhaps she’d make the decision for him.

Charm appeared to be psyched about going further into the shadows to find out what they were standing here discussing. Would it be another wolf? A completely different creature? Or could it simply be something that they were just making up and it truly was no big deal at all? He really didn’t want to know; the feeling still remained that it simply felt wrong to be standing here, and he glanced towards Spectre to see which side the Mount Shadow male would take. The white male’s choice would ultimately be the tie-breaker. However, even the response received hadn’t helped much, the other male obviously unsure of himself which way to take. Their decision-making skill was needing some polishing, that was for sure.

Yet there was no need for them to fret. Or perhaps it was because of what happened next that they needed to fret. Apparently, the thing they had been discussing was truly a real … living … breathing … wolf. Out of the darkness she had materialized, her gray coat appearing slightly white due to the angle of sunlight reflecting off her pelt. And those golden eyes of hers that peered at the three of them made him freeze in place, as if he was a young pup being reprimanded by an adult. This was not at all a good sign.

”I’m sorry, miss … We were just leaving.” He glanced towards Charm, hoping she’d agree with him and all three would simply take their leave.

Spectre hadn't been able to decide who's side he wanted to take. Charm wouldn't have continued on her own, and she had hoped that the other two were curious enough to come along with her on the adventure. But it seemed that the exploring wasn't needed, for the thing came up and spoke to them. She laughed at her own foolishness. How could she have believed that there were ghosts here? There was no such things as ghosts- as this she-wolf had proven. By her words, she sounded unpleased to see them. With a note of alarm, Charm realized that they had tresspassed into her territory and were therefore unwelcome.

Charm caught Takashi's glance as he had said, ” … We were just leaving.” For some reason he had left the decision up to her. Her decision was made immediately. Quickly, she added her input, the white tip of her tail curving under shamedly, “Yes we were,” She paused before giving the stranger a polite nod, "So sorry for trespassing, we weren't aware of it."

LOL.
And, as soon as one could be imagined, a ghost had appeared. Or, at least, he thought it was a ghost. It happened to be a wolf – a living wolf – who declaired things that seemed to prelude to thoughts that this was her home. Taken aback by the change in the setting of the meeting, Spectre looked at the stranger more closely. Enshrouded in a unique scent and with golden eyes that glew like fire, the stranger looked much more like a ghost than a living wolf...

Takashi's and Charm's reactions were met by Spectre's. "Indeed, miss. We're sorry for intruding," he said before looking to his companions, noticing that each were ready to get going. Looking back to the nameless guardian of the 'Claimed land', he inclined his head with great humility and started toward the exit...

Well, if only he knew where the exit was. Smiling bashfully and looking to the one who knew the area, he said with a good amount of embarrassment, "Might we know exactly where the exit is...?"

She frowned as the female further goaded her to deeper dislike as she openly laughed in her face. How rude! After being caught trespassing, the other had the nerve to outright snicker without even a hint of remorse? Sakari bristled, then, hackles rising to show her deepest disapproval, golden glare now trained completely upon Charm as she left the two males alone for the time being. She was the instigator in this, making trouble where there would have been none. Without her, the males most likely would have turned back around and she could have watched them leave without any interference. But Charm … she was a whole different story, a tale which the Tsehata’a was likely to toss down the nearest cliff.

As much as she wanted to snap back to the female, it was more important that the trio left. She had obviously made her point by appearing and now the three were anxious to depart. Except, Spectre didn’t seem to know where the exit was. Were they fools who could not follow their own scents back to whence they came? An exasperate roll of her eyes was in order, but she refrained from doing even that as she simply stated the obvious. ”Right behind you. Follow your pawsteps.” Blunt and to the point. Surely, at least one of them knew the way back because she surely was not going to walk with them to show them the way.

Yay, we can end this soon. =)

As the other’s hackles began to rise, he slowly took a couple of steps back, head lowered to the ground in a clear sign of submission. This was not his homeland and he had no right to be here! The thought bugged him, and Takashi only wished to leave soon and to avoid any sort of conflict. But it was a good thing that both Charm and Spectre agreed with him on leaving this place, so it would seem that this meeting would be over as quickly as it had begun. At least, that was what he hoped would happen.

The way back to the tunnel could be found for they had not traveled much of a distance from the entrance and the lake as they had soon met up with Charms. It would only take their senses of smell to find the way, but at this state – trying to hurry out quickly – they would probably not think straight and end up getting even more lost rather than using what they had. The female stated the obvious and basically told them to find their own ways back, and he simply nodded in understanding. She wasn’t going to help them, but she wanted them out right away. Yes, he got the hint.

”We’ll find our ways, but thank you. And once again, I sincerely apologize for us being here.” He dipped his head in a form of farewell before turning around to head back to the tunnel. ”Come on, let’s go …” He quietly urged his companions to follow suit.

Charm took a few steps back at the other female's reaction. She had not purposely been looking to anger her, but apparently she had. Woops. The female bristled at her. Charm was a lover, not a fighter. She retreated behind Takashi, who seemed to get along with the female somewhat better than Spectre had.
Quickly, Charm trotted ahead of the two males, wanting to get as far away from the hostile female as possible.

And this would be the last post for Spec. Nice thread. :D!
Spectre's mixed smile was easy as she pointed out the obvious to him, though he did know that, at least, she wasn't as angry as before. Stupidity, at times, had its advantages, didn't it? Doing as Takashi had done, in dipping his head steeply to the ground in a gentle act of sorriness and submission toward the person who kept the land, he murmured one last 'sorry' before following Charm the way that they had come.

His steps were slower as he began, but they quickened as he went on. He didn't want to see this place for some time. Of course, things like that could be changed. Oh, he was still curious; curious of what he had saw before coming to meet Takashi and Charm. Were those phantoms of his siblings ghosts, or were they really there...?

Wishful thinking.

Charm was definitely on her bad side, whether the other female knew it or not. However, it would be hard to miss the fact that Sakari had bristled at her and her alone, and she smirked as Charm ran to hide behind Takashi even as Spectre nodded his head in her blunt response. The exit was from where they had come in; it shouldn’t be too difficult of a path to follow. The Silver Creek fellow urged his companions to leave along with him and she was glad that at least one of the trespassers had some sort of common sense.

As the three strangers trotted off towards the exit, increasing their paces as the tunnel loomed nearer, she made sure to watch them the whole time, golden eyes trained upon them until their shadows could no longer be seen. Even then, she walked to the opening, making sure that they were not simply loitering around the opening and seeking to re-enter after she departed. No one was to be found, and that was the best news she had gotten by far. Satisfied with her observation, she turned away from the tunnel and decided to take her leave. Back into the shadows she went, slipping through the trunks even as she was certain more would begin to filter through the tunnel and into the sacred lands of the tribe.
