Element's first time here, Oo. Open to no more than two others, please. ^^

The light danced like a thousand fireflies amongst the spaces between the trees. But he knew they weren’t fireflies. It was too large, to… something. Swallowing hard, his silvery gaze tried to lock on his surroundings, trying to pinpoint the source of the light. Somehow he knew there was something there, something there beyond the ridge of dense trees in front of him. He was in a forest, and he could feel something all around him. Something more than the trees and the air, something different. Something he wasn’t sure if he wanted to see or not.

A growl bubbled in his throat, and Element’s head whipped to the side as something seemed to dash beyond his line of vision. Before he could focus on it, it was gone. If it ever had been there in the first place. Where was he even? He’d been taking a stroll through the woods of Whisper Forest and had come across a new trail. Other scents – some familiar even – had told him some of whom he’d known had been this way, so he’d followed. From the minute he stepped into these knew woods all thought of any others was forgotten, and replace with the thought of these others.

There was no one nearby he could see, but he knew at the same time there were others. Others. Wolves? Maybe. His mind had never played such tricks on him before, and he had never really been a believer in anything unordinary. But being here, standing here, feeling here, his senses could not be lying to him. They just couldn’t be.

Wherever he was, the Theta was not alone.

Yay! A thread with Element again! =D

Lasair was running again, running away from all her problems. She could have talked it out with Mars like Nakir had suggested, but she chose to run. She could have tried to have a face-off with her mysterious pursuer, but instead, she just kept on running away from him. She felt useless, pathetic and cowardly. Just when she thought she was having a shot at living life anew, something cropped up and instead of trying to make things better, she made a big mess out of it.

And now look at what she got herself in! Lasair looked around at her unfamiliar surroundings. Strange, she thought, I’ve never been here before. The shadows and silence was making her feel uncomfortable. And above all, she felt fear. How ever did I end up here! She had not noticed. Her mind kept replaying the scene that happened earlier involving Mars. Her nose was kept on the ground, looking for the plant that would help Mars’ paw wound, but her mind was not concentrating at all. She had fled across the Silver Creek lands and across Sterling Waters before slowing down to a stroll in Whisper Forest.

She knew she was not alone. She heard a growl and saw the strange light. She started to tremble with fear. This whole place felt all… wrong! She wanted to flee, again, but stood rooted to the ground. Oh come on, Lasair! This is the time to run and I can’t move at all! Was that light coming closer to her? Or was it just her imagination. Or was it… Oh. My. God! My mysterious pursuer’s caught up with me at last! She thought in horror.

But still, her legs refused to move. “Oh please, don’t kill me… Please don’t…” She begged with her eyes squeezed shut.

Yay! A thread with Lasair again! Heh. And awwww... that thread with Mars. *Is stalking it* Poor wuffers. *Pets*

And btw, to anyone else out there theres still room for one other if you like. I just really want to post and yeah - I'm posting. ^^

He wasn’t sure how long he stood there. A second felt like minutes. Mere minutes seemed to stretch on like hours. They always say that time passes you by the slowest when you’re alone, and maybe he was the only living thing alone, but all in all he knew he wasn’t just the only thing out here in general.

It was only afternoon and yet the light of the sun had seemed to disappear, drowning the forest in fog and dim light. It was like eternal twilight, never a breath of light breaking through the canopy like a beam from heaven above. There was nothing here but the life that lingered. Suddenly behind him he heard noise, and knew he heard something, it wasn’t just his imagination. A louder growl rose in his throat and exploded, rippling forth and dying with the beginnings of a snarl. It was cut short only by the sight that greeted him.

There, however many feet in front of him was a form on the ground, trembling and shaking and probably hiding from whatever Element had felt. Or… he realized, possibly now hiding from him. Immediately feeling guilty, his ears went flat on his skull, head lowering. “Hey!” He called, the shout loud enough to be heard but still attempted to be maintained as a loud whisper. Slinking on, he inched closer to the wolf on the floor. She looked absolutely terrified. “I’m sorry about that… I thought you were…” Were what, Element. Really. What did you think she could have been? A ghost? He was surprised by the sudden break in thought, his own mind reaching out and scolding him for such a statement and belief. He was too old to believe in ghost stories. And yet… here he was. “-Something else,” the Theta finished lamely.

Eep! I didn't expect that thread to turn out this way xP It's better than I expected. But it doesn't go in tune with my first post in this thread. I hope you won't mind my mistake >.<

‘Hey!’

So there was something out there! Lasair continued to cower in fear of the unknown. It was not until the wolf spoke again did she realise her fears were uncalled for. Slowly, she opened her eyes and raised her head. She recognised his voice and his scent. And it did not take her mind long to churn out his name. “Element?” She called out, hopefully. She hoped he was not an apparition and that perhaps he could shed some light on this strange dimension she was in.

Her legs were regaining the ability to function again. She took a few tentative steps towards the ebony male. “Is it really you?” If it was, Lasair was so glad to see him again. He reminded her of when she was a pup again. He had taught her how to fish, successfully, and she liked the Mount Shadow wolf a lot. She missed those days when life was so carefree and she did not have to live in fear.

It was cute. ^^ And no, I don't mind at all! I've done the same thing before with a MAJOR plot, heh. That took a lot of explaining. xD

“Lasair?” Surprise came etched in his voice as the name fell past his lips, and he cocked his head as he looked down at her. Sure enough, those shining eyes and that familiar face stared right back up at him, slowly bringing a smile round a bout on his face until it blossomed. Look at how much she’d grown since he last saw her! She was an adult now, that was for sure.

Leaning forward, he bumped his young friend lightly on the shoulder and nodded. “Yeah, it’s really me. Now, it’s up to you to decide whether that’s good or bad.” His playful sense of humor hadn’t faded over the months since their last meeting, and he pulled back, giving her room to rise. It was then he started to notice something different about the little female – something changed, maybe? There was more caution in her eyes, a flickering fear caught there and churning. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to see something was different. “You okay? I’m sorry if I scared you there… I’ve never been here before, and it’s just… I’m not sure, kind of weird.” His eyes broke from her face and scanned the territory around them momentarily. He was looking for those lights again. Magically, they seemed to have disappeared.

Sorry for the delay!

When he nudged her gentle on the shoulder, she relaxed and heaved a sigh of relief inwardly. So he was not an apparition after all. He was real flesh and blood. She returned the affectionate greeting with one of her own by nosing his shoulder. “Good to see you again, Element.” She said, smiling. He was as humorous as ever. He had not changed one bit since the last time she saw him. Lasair, on the other hand, had gone through drastic changes.

‘You okay?’

“I’m fine. I thought… never mind.” She said, feeling a little embarrassed by her silly behaviour earlier. Maybe Element did not see the lights. “I’ve never been here before as well. I didn’t know this place existed!” She exclaimed in disbelieve. She followed Element’s line of sight and she could tell he was looking out for those lights as well. So he did see them after all, she thought. “Wh-what do you think those were…?” Lasair asked hesitantly, unsure if her suspicions were true.

No problem. ^^

He smiled at the young female – now all grown up. “You too. It’s been a while.” Familiar faces were always nice. He wished there was a way to keep in touch with all his friends an acquaintances, but even with all the moving around the Theta managed to do still time went by when he didn’t see a friend for quite a period of time. “I’m sure you’re quite the expert fisher by now?” He chuckled, smiling at the petite female. “As for me… still as awful as ever.” Fishing was just one of those things he would never be good at, no matter what. Element had accepted that a long while back.

He eyed Lasair curiously as she spoke, cutting off her sentence and presenting him with a swift ‘never mind.’ He had a feeling he may have known where her questions were leading. “Things out there? Like… lights. That feeling?” Hopefully, now he wouldn’t feel like the stupid one. He knew there had been something there – there still was something there. He could feel it. “Me either,” he responded as he took the opportunity to scan the surrounding forest again. A glimpse of something shot through the trees, and he was taken aback momentarily, eyes narrowing. He tried to focus on what it may have been, but it was all a blur. The lights were gone.

Lasair must have noticed something too, because his ears perked as her nervous voice rang in his ears. “I… I don’t know. I’m not imagining it though. There’s something here. There. Somewhere.” Who knew what it could have been.

Lasair was quick to agree with him. “I thought you were one of them.” She said, completing the sentence that she had broken off earlier. “They were felt so… real.” She added softly, as though afraid that if she spoke any louder, the spectres would indeed become flesh and blood. But then, she was quite certain she caught the scent of a wolf amongst those lights. Or maybe she had confused them with Element a little too much.

Element’s presence was comforting, at least she knew she was not alone in this place. Nonetheless, the lack of sunlight in the area was unnerving. Even the Mount Shadow wolf’s joviality could do nothing to brighten her feelings. But then again, she was not in the best of moods to begin with. She was suddenly reminded of Mars and what he said to her earlier that afternoon. While she was bursting with joy that this relationship was not one-sided on her part, she could not accept him until she unlocked her memories. Speaking of relationships…

“I met Kiriana. Your mate.” She hoped this topic would lift some of the shadows that shrouded them. “I’m very grateful to her.” Lasair smiled, recalling their meeting. “She saved my life.”

He had to agree with her a hundred percent. The lights had felt like more than that… each one of them had felt like a pair of eyes gazing right into his soul – so real, so alive, so everything. And the shadows that flickered around them, some gliding like smoke and some taking on what seemed like distant shape – they didn’t feel like just shadows. This place felt real all around. He could feel eyes on him other than Lasair. Presences other than the two wolves who stood in the open conversing. There was something more to this place, and Element wasn’t sure he liked its secrecy.

“I know nothing about this place. I just stumbled across it, really. Just earlier. I felt something when I was by myself too… it’s just weird. I know I’m not imagining it. And if you can feel it too…” his gaze searched the area, eyes narrowed slightly. What was it about this place? He didn’t mean to scar Lasair and hoped he wasn’t; the Theta was only investigating.

The next topic of discussion did anything but lighten his mood. His eyes sweeping over Lasair, he remained quiet for a moment before speaking up, concealing an unsteadiness in his voice. Or at least trying to, that is. “Really? How?” He didn’t want to pry, but Kiriana hadn’t spoken to him about it… let alone anything recently. He sighed, scooting forward and planting his hind on the ground. “You’re okay now though, right?”

It surprised him how he did not know about her unexpected meeting with Kiriana. “Quite alright, thanks for asking, Element.” She smiled. “I left the Valley a while ago. Two months, to be exact. I was looking for my family. But I didn’t find anything. In fact, I can’t remember what happened during those two months at all.” Lasair told her tale. She was numb to it all by now. It was like she was looking at it from an outsider’s point of view.

“But I do know that I must have done something bad. Because someone’s after me. I don’t know who or what does he look like, or what does he want, but he’s there… Out there, just waiting to get me.” She looked around, as though her stalker was amongst the shadows and bushes. She wished he would stop playing this game with her. ‘Come out and face me!’ she wanted to shout. She wanted to get this all over and done with so that she could move on with her life.

She sighed. She did not want to dwell on this anymore. “Enough of me. What about you, Element? How have you been the past few months?”

Seeing as Kiriana had spoken little to the ebony hued Theta, it was reasonable to him that he hadn’t heard of such a thing. That reminder put one more stake through his head, and he tried to swallow away the pain before it stung even harder. “That’s good to hear,” he answered as she informed she was doing fine. He continued to listen to her tale with interest, his watchful gaze continuously shifting from Lasair to the land around them, unsure and still wary of whatever lurked out there in that darkness and fog.

Frowning slightly, he nodded in understanding to the younger female. “I’ve got family out there somewhere too… two sisters. And my mom somewhere, maybe even my dad. My youngest sister came to the Salvajes once before… a few months ago, but she left.” He diverted his gaze, hiding the pain in the statement. He missed Catori so much. He missed all his family. “I’m sorry you didn’t find anyone. Who knows, maybe they could be on their way here?” He gave a hopeful smile. Hey, it had happened to him. Who said it couldn’t be possible for Lasair and her family too?

An ear flicking curiously as she continued, the male refrained from butting in when she finished, and let her continue further. How had she done something bad? And how did one forget? Favoring his lip slightly (a habit he seemed to have recently picked up) in moments of silent contemplation) the Shadower sighed before speaking. “Do you have any idea why you can’t remember?” He questioned casually. She probably had gone through it all a hundred times before, asking herself the same question. “And, as for someone following you… you should be safe here.” He let his smile slowly return at that point. “I’m sure you will be – you are.” Winking at her, he finished that last bit off with: “And if you ever do think you know who it is, hunt me down and I’ll be sure to give ‘em a piece of my mind.”

As the conversation turned to him, Element chuckled and shook his head. “Nothing exciting I’m afraid. Been exploring… wandering… pack stuff. Same old day to day things. Most exciting thing yet seems to be coming across this place.” With that, he gestured to the mysterious lands around them.

‘Who knows, maybe they could be on their way here?’ Considering how she kept running into bad lucky lately, this was too much of a wishful thinking. She was too afraid of putting too much hopes into it, the fear of being heavily disappointed was strong. Nonetheless, she appreciated Element’s attempt to cheer her up and managed to put up a smile for him. “And I’m sure your sister will return soon.” Lasair said.

It didn’t take her long to work out the answer to his question. “As a matter of a fact, I do.” Despite saying that, she sounded desperate. Time was probably running out. If she do not figure out the identity of the blue—eyed hunter, who knew if she would be able to see another sunrise? “I crashed my head into a boulder and when I woke, I can’t remember anything that happened after I left the Valley. So I made my way back, hoping to find out something… anything.”

When he offered protection, Lasair’s heart was filled with warmth. Though the presence of her stalker proved that the Valley was not as safe as she thought, it was wolves like Element that made her feel protected and out of harm's way. “Thanks, Ele.” She smiled, her eyes sparkled with the question of whether it was alright for her to use that nickname. “I just hope whoever this is goes away. There are others who want a piece of him too should he harm me.” Kimoto, Mars and Levi were a few of them.

“You’ve never been here before too? How long ago was this place found?” Lasair asked, going back to the topic of this mysterious territory.

“Thanks,” he replied happily, tail beginning to wag slightly at the thought. Little did he know how close that actually was to coming true. His ears perked slightly in interest as she answered his question; surprised to find she knew exactly how. Usually when one lost their memory it wasn’t too common they even remembered how or when. He “Hmmm” ‘d quietly as she explained, listening intently. “Well… at least you weren’t hurt any worse. It should only be temporary. I’m sure you’ll figure it out.” The mind had a strange way of working. Things came back when you least expected them to.

“No problem,” he responded, giving her the silent go ahead to use the nickname. He had no problem with it – it was what a lot of wolves referred to him as, or even himself if he was musing in his thoughts. “Got a whole team then. Whoever it is has no chance, you’ll be safe,” he reassured further, sending a smile her way again.

Going back to the territory around them again, he allowed his gaze to wander back to the mysterious land. The male could still feel something around them, almost as if the two were being watched by some unknown presence. It was eerie, but it was intriguing all the same. “A few weeks ago, I think. Maybe a little less. I’m not sure.”

Gah! Sorry I took so long to reply >.< Let's wrap this out, shall we?

And congratulations on winning the WLC! and MRC! ^^

The eeriness was beginning to disturb her. It was making her feel uncomfortable. She already had the spook of her life when she thought Ele was an apparition. She was glad it turned out to be someone she knew. “I think… I better get going.” Lasair said. She did not want to stay here any longer. After all, she needed to get back to the task at hand, which was to find some medicine for Mars’ injured paw. “For some reason, I feel as though I’m intruding. Let’s leave the lights to themselves.” She looked at Element with a ‘want to come along look’. She would leave him to continue to admire the lights if he wanted, but would otherwise like to walk out of this shadow land with her friend.

Heh, thanks! And it wasnt a problem at all. I'm glad to have thread with you again!

Lasair’s sudden desire to leave and her reason for wanting to go Element could easily agree with. The supernatural feel of the lights and whatever lay behind them was rather eerie – and it further plucked at the strings of his heart as Lasair vocalized just what he had been feeling. That knowing of being watched and being somewhere you just weren’t supposed to be. What had been a calm and mystifying aura earlier seemed to shift in an instant to a beckoning to heed the young wolf’s thoughts.

“Good idea,” he answered, lifting himself to all four sturdy limbs and after noting her look, bringing himself to Lasair’s side to make the way out with her. “Care to be walked home, m’lady?” He chuckled, winking at his young friend as the pair began to move. As they approached the tunnel he glanced back once over his shoulder, almost freezing as he realized the searing lights seemed to flash as if they were blinking – and then he whipped his gaze straight ahead again and moved a little faster – leaving the territory with Lasair at his side.
