Soran was slowly, but surely getting used to pack life again. It was nice not having an uncaring father, and way to caring mother around to nag at him anymore, but he was way to old for that anway. He guessed that being a loner for so long had made him feel headstrong, and younger. Walking dangerously close to a sheer drop on one of the lower peaks of Nova Mountain he looked over the edge, looking at tower above, yet below him. As loose rocks almost caused his paw to slip of the edge he calmly made his way closer to the rock face, no emotion of how he felt about that close call.

He passed rock after rock, but still he never grew tired of the scenerie. Thoughts went from his newly adopted daughter, to his place in the pack, and nowhere in between. There always seemed to be little to think about when he was alone, which always seemed to cause him to go into a spiraling fall deep into boredom. Mind would wander, and attention to his surroundings would soon disapate. He finally just resorted to perching himself on his hind legs, looking off into the setting sun.

It was his first time on this mountain, and although the lower part of it did not catch his attention, the black male was quite drawn to the ‘Moonlight Ridge’ level. It was quite different from the shadow mountain he had visited first, but it possessed a lot of the same scree and dangerous edges. It just so happened, that just like this mountain, too, there was someone else wandering around those edges — however, this one had not fallen over them.

The Devil watched from below as the other male traversed the edges, his dark presence unnoticed, perhaps overlooked as the shadow of the landscape. Since he had nothing better to do, the black wolf decided to venture off and see who this male was. It took sometime for him to climb the mountain, using his keen senses to track the male that had passed overhead. His crimson eyes soon spotted him gazing at the setting sun.

In a rather somber, quiet mood, he approached, remaining a few meters behind the male as he commented, Nice, eh?

Soran didn't even pay attention as another traced his steps, and was to pre-occupied with his own brooding to care. Only when that said 'other' spoke did Soran pay any real attention to him. Yes, it.. He trailed off, once glazed over, dreamy gaze focusing on the male, nose working double time to figure out his scent. Silver Creek. A tresspasser eh? Soran couldn't really say he wasn't guilty of the same thing, but he was part of this pack, and therefor obliged to protect it.

Soran raised himself onto all fours, waiting for the other male to show some form of respect. Sure, Soran wasn't high ranking, but he held dominance over anyone who thought the Nova Mountain pack borders were a joke. With fur bristling slightly he continued on. Do you find that you can always traverse on other packs territories without permission? Soran questioned, voice and features emotionless, building himself up so he could seem bigger. The scar across his maw started to itch, it probably hoped for battle, Soran did not. When it came to it though, he was ready.

It just figured that in the rare moments that The Devil didn't approach confrontationally, he was met with hostility, every other time he would have been met with open arms had he not started the conflict to begin with. A low growl rumbled from his throat as he stared through the smaller male. He answered with a cold, sharp sentence. Yes, I find it rather easy. His nose wrinkled, his tail lashed. He said nothing more, just kept his stare, an awkward, icy silence between them. But soon enough The Devil chased his other statement. Besides, he paused, hissing. How am I supposed to ask if I don't find someone first...

The Devil didn't want to lock in battle again and stir up more trouble for himself, but if this young snot wanted to make trouble where there was none then The Devil wouldn't back down.

It seemed the other wolf wasn't bright enough to realise that he should be trying to cover up why he had been tresspassing in the first place. When a growl met Soran's ears he was slightly surprised, but he did not falter, keeping his gaze steady with the other males. Sure, the black wolf was larger, but Soran had been in many battles in his shorter lived time, this wolf probably had to, but Soran was not one to back down when ensued like this. Oh, really? Soran questioned, remaining still.

When the other continued on, digging himself a deeper grave, Soran let out a huff, teeth starting to show. Tension was certainly getting high. Normally one would make his business quick, and leave instead of travelling deeper into the territory and looking for trouble. With that Soran started to calm, teeth completely hidden, and muscles slowly unbunching. Gaze still reamained locked with the others though, waiting for his next move. What business to you have on Nova Mountain lands anyway? Soran questioned.

Yes, really, The Devil snapped back. He whipped his tail in response to what followed the other male's first words. The black wolf had no interest in being told what was ‘normal’ to do and so on and so forth. He could not resist emphasizing that the he was condemning The Devil for something he hadn't a chance to do before coming across him. A lot of quick business one can have with rocks and trees, he sneered.

I was visiting, he answered the male's question. I was under the impression the packs were friendly with one another, in this case, he was wrong, but he didn't know that there was trouble brewing. I suppose you're attempting to ruin that are you? The Devil released a low, brief growl. He was unimpressed with this encounter.

Hey, you know what would make this thread fun? Bringing in Sinistra. XD

Soran didn't bother replying to the other wolfs retort, and speaking of 'the other wolf' he hadn't gotten a name. Even a fake one would be useful right now. When the black wolf spoke next Soran still remained still and neutral - he didn't give a damn what 'quick business' this wolf had with rocks and trees. Watching as the other wolf sneered Soran was starting to get worked up again, and he returned the sneer with a flash of his teeth, tensing up again.

Visiting? I thought that required an invetation. And from what I know they are, but most packs don't take kindly to unannounced visits. There, that was Soran's bit. What the red eyed male said next though caused a deep growl to escape Soran's throat. No, it seems you are, i'm not the one tresspassing without an escort on your lands. With that Soran gave his own sneer, and waited for the other wolfs reaction.

Soran wouldn't have been so worked up in the first place if he hadn't been recieved by such hostility from the other - even though Soran had asked why the other wolf had been tresspassing in reasonably calm words; well words, but perhaps not body language. A name would be nice, he continued. Mine is Soran.

OUT OF CHARACTER

Not right now :P Sinistra is supposed to go demand for him at SC so it might interfere with that plotline.

IN CHARACTER

Not always, the black wolf corrected, but he said no more, deciding that he could not stand to attempt explaining things to this idiot. Once again the other male had said something that made no sense to Creeker — how was he supposed to find an escort without coming here first? Had this Soran fellow had any sense, he would have been kinder with his greetings and perhaps dedicated himself to the escorting business. But no, he had no sense, and decided to let his testicles do the talking.

With a shake of his head he dismissed those thoughts, turning his attention to the fact that finally, this mid-sized male decided to act a bit more civil. Attempting to keep things on this sort of neutral territory, the black wolf offerred a fake name. Alright, fine — It's Shadow. He said, contented with his random name choice. But he said nothing more, he just stood watching the other, waiting to see how the encounter was turning.

Oh? I just thought it would be funny to see how crazily Sinistra would act. XD

When the other wolf replied with a simple 'Not always,' it seemed that the tension would be dieing down, but Soran was still irked that this character had helped make a big issue out of this in the first place. He could have just apologised, and this would have not even started. Giving a sigh Soran settled himself onto hind legs, looking out towards the almost set sun. He had missed most of the sunset. With a dismissive shake of his head he turned to look back at the black male, ears perking forward as he spoke his name.

Well Shadow, what business do you have on Nova Mountain this fine evening? He questioned, besides visiting. With that he looked back out at the sky, stars becoming quite visible now. Who are you planning on visiting anyway, perhaps I can point you in the right direction? Well, Soran probably couldn't, but he would enjoy sending this wolf back the way him came, in an act that that was where the wolf he wished to visit was residing.

OUT OF CHARACTER

Oh, you'll see it, just not in this thread :P

IN CHARACTER

The black wolf chewed his lip, irritated that this thick-headed male could not get it into his head that his business was visiting, just visiting, nothing more or less. He had no special visitation intentions, he just came here to see what was about, and unfortunately found the resident pack moron. He wanted to mangle the other, but The Devil held back, breathing deep though inconspicuously, attempting to keep in mind his long-term goals.

Just visiting, he said. No one in particular. Why— he paused, turning the tables a bit. Is there someone you suspect I came to talk to? Or perhaps you would recommend that I visit with someone specific?

Could we finish this thread off quickly? I'm planning on dropping Soran, and I don't want to leave without completing threads, I think that's unfair to the other roleplayer. :P

Oh? No one in particular? Soran gave a shrug at this, and smirked as Shadow started asking the questions. No, he began, raising off hind legs and looking up the mountain. Perhaps I could recommend you a visit with the alpha. He said, smirk widening to expose teeth. With that he turned his back on the other and headed up the mountain, ears plastered back, and eyes glimpseing back incase the other attacked. Enjoy your stay! He called back, not really caring what the other did.

Getting further up the mountain he remained there, watching the other in the darkness of the upper ledges to see if he left or not. If the other ventured further up the mountain he would be met with tooth and claw.

OUT OF CHARACTER

Lol.. Uh done? :P

IN CHARACTER

The Devil knew he would recommend the alpha but what he wanted was the alpha's name. However, it seemed he would not get that from this idiot — he should have known — as the smaller male ‘welcomed’ him and then disappeared. It was a strange, sudden turn of events. The black male shook his head, turning his back and heading out in the direction he came from, rather bored with the mountain, or perhaps irritated, already.
