I guess up to four other NM members only. Anymore and I might die. >>;
The sun had started to set, gleaming agains the many peaks of Nova Mountains. Darkness was coming sooner then most places, for the mountain had started to cover the sun long before. Soran had made his way up to where Sinistra had held their meeting - a circle of rocks surrounding a small clearing in the mountain - where he sat in silence. He wondered if others socialized here often, for when he had met the few other Nova Mountain members it had been all over the mountain. It seemed that everyone was on their own.
Assuming that eventually someone was bound to come along and disturb him anyway he didn't bother to lay down and rest is head. Instead he made his way to one of the rocks and leapt on top of it, settleing himself once again into a sitting position. He looked almost like a hunched over gargoyle sitting in the dark, barely visible due to his dark colored fur, except for his eyes, which glowed against the on coming darkness. He certainly did seem menacing, especially when a few whispered words pierced the coming night.
Come out, come out, where ever you are..

Set before the meeting, if that’s alright.
--- ic
In the dappled navy sunset that blinked in from between the mountains of the Del Surs, long shadows threw themselves across the landscape. One particular figure resembled his own shadow; he was tall and black and his eyes looked like the setting sun. Indeed, Bronx looked at his best at this time-of-day; the rest of the day seemed to insist upon clashing with him. This was not to say that Bronx was at all aware of this, of course; he had always taken very little pleasure from his own appearance, taking his hereditary personality into consideration instead.
The Guardian had had a busy day. He had spoken to his slightly injured sister and then left her to planning the pack hunt, having spoken with the Alpha beforehand to discuss what would be an inevitable physical confrontation between various Nova Mountain wolves and at least one Silver Creek wolf.
Upon prowling down Lower Nova Mountain he spotted a figure hunched nearby and murmuring something. “Hope you’re not talking to me,” Bronx replied darkly as he moved from behind the stranger to his side. |

Soma padded through a grouping of pines, that comparitively grew thinner then those found lower down the slopes of the mountain, yet at this hour, with the brilliant sun escaping from the skies, shadows enveloped and crawled over even the most open of areas here. Her coat appeared nearly all the same pitchy colour, the silvers hard to pick out from the rest of her thick hide. Her gleaming eyes were the greatest point of distinguishment about her shape though, moving across the terrain, with really no place to be, except for somewhere sleeping, but it was too soon for that as far as she was concerned.
Rounded ears stiffened and swiveled in searching, upon having being reached by other's voices through the brisk evening air, first one, and then a second. She turned, changing her line of direction to investigate, and came slowly out from around the corner of a rocky projection, to find her shining eyes, well, one of them at least, resting on two other forms amungst the circle of rocks. Curiosity flooded her thoughts, yet she kept her whits about her and continued to move slowly, not so much as sneaking, but in caution, as she assumed there was always the chance that her presence wasn't welcome amung these packmates and their business.

Out of Character
-pushes hesitant Tanta in here-
In Character
The trees were all pink, and the grass swayed, changing from blue to purple to brown in an iridescent dance. Tantamount eyed the candy-like landscape with confused eyes, his white fur sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the bright colours and the saturated alike. The stream he looked at remained blue, but it was an oddly burned colour, as if the blue had been mixed with large amounts of dull black, whilst the sky was a flaming orange. Pink trees, some laced with white and some with red, and of course that strange, shimmering grass. The youth was not used to being faced with such odd, realistic visions, but that was unfortunately what he found. Hesitant to touch the landscape (for he stood upon a rock, red to his lack of knowledge) the adolescent remained quiet in his observation, neither touched by insatiable curiosity nor any fear of the place. It was soothing to him, definately something to explore, if he had the courage enough to drop to the grass below him.
Suddenly the scene shifted, and he was standing on the same red rock, but now in the midst of a gathering. All manner of animals were there, but they were different; purples, oranges, turquoises, blues, greens, reds, and a myriad other colours were mixed into their furs, so that they blended with the environment. He still looked much like an oddball amongst them, and they seemed to not notice him at all. He realized almost immediately that he sat on his rock right up in front. His awed gaze scanned the crowd around him, and then slowly moved to the center of the clearing, where stood, like he, a completely white pup. However, that pup looked much braver, much stronger, and was quite a bit larger than he. It shared his expression, though, his tri-coloured eyes, and as they locked gazes - small, timid pup with his brave reflection - the other grinned.
Then, almost as if the spell had been broken, he woke up. Drowzy eyes looked at the rocks around him as he yawned and slowly sat up, blinking away the last vestiges of sleep, though he did not forget the ludicrous dream. There had been more to it, in the beginning - a legend of sorts, a prelude to the stranger events - but he no longer remembered them. Burned into his memory was the larger pup, his courageous side, formed into a being. He remembered the smirk, like a strong reminder that he was not a weakling. For a moment Tantamount considered going to speak with his mother about the strange dream, but at the sound of voices he froze, not knowing what to do. Fearful eyes shifted until he located Soran and Bronx, and stalking towards them, a subordinate named Soma. He remained still in this manner, blue eyes staring at the two as if they were going to jump down and eat him. So surprised and nervous was the teen that, somehow, he believed they would.

Eh, three others is good enough. :)
Soran was surprised when someone spoke, and he flinched as he felt the strange wolf walk up from behind him. Looking upon the wolf Soran had to swallow back a growl, and he took in a deep breath. This wolf smelt of Nova Mountain. In the changing light this wolf resembled Silver Creeker Soran had ran into not long ago, one who went by the name of 'Shadow'. Bowing his head Soran spoke. No, just to those prowling around in general.. He said, attempting a smile, but failing.
Scenting the air again, incase others where nearby - which there were - Soran turned to the high ranking black male that he had seen once before, at the meeting. It seems we have company. He said, before turning away from the male and leaping off the rock, heading to the middle of the small clearing, and squinting, looking for the sources of the other fresh scents he had picked up. He then glanced back at the other male, still remaining lower then the clearly higher ranking wolf.
What is your take on the current issue on certain tresspassers? He questioned, turning back to scan his surroundings once more, waiting for whoever else was there to make their presences known.

I’m still not entirely sure as to whether this is set before or after the meeting. But since your first post said before, Soran, and I stupidly went and missed it :P, perhaps we could just avoid talk of the meeting altogether. :)

Bronx threw a brief, faint smirk in the direction of the stranger, vaguely accepting his submission by sitting down comfortably. They had little chance to even hint at the beginnings of a conversation, because a couple of scents appeared nearby (coupled by mild forms in the near distance), and the other male made the point of noting their presence. The stranger then proceeded to look around for the “company” in question, but Bronx remained seated, glancing after him briefly.
“You know,” he said loudly in the direction of the female and the puppy who were annoyingly stalking them, “you can either go away or show yourselves properly. Or, if you’re going to spy, at least do it a bit more professionally,” he drawled, rolling his eyes slightly and then shifting his gaze back to the male in order to answer his question.
“My opinion on trespassers can pretty much speak for itself – I’m Nova’s Guardian,” he said without boastfulness or tone, “and it’s Bronx.” |

Yet a third scent had arrived upon the air, reaching Soma's nose, what a popular destination this meeting ground has become tonight, she noted to herself, the majority of it by chance, too. Since her intentions were never to spy, or anything else of a sneaky persuasion, she hadn't stopped to linger, instead, she just finished closing the ground between her and the two visible, the third, still hidden, had slipped from her mind at the moment.
Soma was just arriving at the circle when Bronx had made his announcement, which was distinctly directed towards her and the third unseen Novan. She came to a stand-still a couple metres from either Soren or Bronx, and she gave a bow of her head in silent greeting. Holding her body language somewhat low-key, with regard to the two, she withheld any speach in order to not interrupt more then she could help to.
An opportunity having arose, turning her face towards Bronx, her ears creased back, the dusky female spoke in a low voice, quietly, "I apologise if my actions were misunderstood to be adverse... It wasn't my intent.", she trailed off, feeling the need to make that statement, yet not wanting to detract from their conversation, she hoped that she could redeem her presence here, for she was increasingly finding interest in such matters they had begun to touch on. She kept her eyes averted from the high ranking guardian, in contrition, though she gave a short glance towards Soren.

Well, i'm dropping Soran.. Eheh. And I want to wrap up all of my threads, so i'll just have him leave, and you guys can feel free to continue the thread. I don't want my dispersal to affect your post counts.
Soran glanced as the other spoke up, giving a small grin before focusing his attention to his surroundings once more. It seemed atleast one of them so far took the hint, as she appeared just after the black male gave his small speech. He infact wasn't done, for he soon introduced himself, and his position as the pack's Guardian. A Guardian eh? Soran started, before introducting himself. I'm Soran, he said, before turning his attention to the other.
It seemed she was apologising. I don't think an apology is nessecary. He said to her with a smile, before looking around for the other. He had completely forgotten about the pup for a moment there. And the thought of pups mad him remember Cass, and how it was getting quite dark out. Um, i'm sorrry to say this, but I have to go.. He trailed off, and was about to just head out, before deciding they might as well get an explanation.
I have to make sure my daughter, Cass, is safe in the den before it gets to dark. With that he turned and started to trot off, before pausing momentarily to add. It was nice to meet you both, well all. He said, with a glance around for the still hidden pup, before heading off out of the small clearing.

Sorry for the wait, you guys! I totally forgot to log this thread. D:
'Kay, before the meeting. Tantamount's still a beta pup, then. Err... For the ease of it, do you guys remember the ranks of your characters before the hierarchy change?

For a while he remained hidden, despite having already been noticed (at least indirectly) by Soran and Bronx. The latter even told him and the unseen female stalker to show themselves or get lost, and though that seemed like a rather inappropriate request, Tantamount complied. Slowly he stood up and jumped onto one of the many rocks assembled, his form hunched as if he was still afraid of being punished. He grinned sheepishly at the Guardian and at Soran, but the latter was soon departing from the area, leaving him and the now revealed Soma to face the wrath (or what he assumed was the wrath, for he'd thusly deemed Bronx as a rather intimidating adult) of the ebony wolf. He shuddered for a moment, frozen in his indecision, and then he sort of retreated away from Bronx and towards Soma. He didn't know either adult, and as nervous as he was he shouldn'tve felt it at all, but somehow he seemed more secure when he was farther from the dark male. "Uh... Hi?" Lack of anything else to really say was enough to bring his tone down to something more fitting of a younger cub, somewhat squeaky and somewhat innocent.
"I'm Tantamount, beta pup." Oh, sure, that sounded very professional. Rolling his eyes at himself, the ivory youth lowered his posture even more. It didn't even occur to him that, if one were to invert Bronx's colours and adjust his eyes to a darker shade, he would be the result. Instead he gave a smile to both adults, giving a small wag of his tail but otherwise remaining practically frozen.

To Bronx, Soran was by far the most interesting figure here out of all the strangers, and he had been about to question the talk of trespassing he had brought up. There had been a hint of curiosity, or so he had heard, in the sentence “a Guardian, eh?”, so Bronx had expected a little extension of what the male had said previously… but things got messy. Predictably, after Bronx’s words, both figures made themselves seen – an adult female and a young pup, clearly of the Phase family.
Soran then proceeded to leave so Bronx gave a friendly nod of farewell and turned to the ex-stalkers, both of whom, fortunately for them, knew how to submit. “Adverse? No, you’re fine,” he said, amused, to the female, before answering the pup; “I’m Bronx. Can I help you?” he glanced over at the nervous female and added smoothly, “or you?”

Despite Soren's reassurance, she wasn't about to renounce her apology, not with the overbearing dark male standing there in their midst. Instead of presenting a nod of acknowledgement to his words though, it's meaning was soon turned to that of a farewell as the male announced his departure, which was shortly followed by action. The unseen one abruptly showed himself in the circle now, and Soma was inwardly startled by a white coat that stood out like a sore thumb at this time of day.
Following the pup's example, which seemed kind of absurdly ironic to Soma, she gave a brief introduction, "I'm Soma... Subordinate...", as simple as that, directed at neither of tthe two in particular, but it was out in the open now. Though Bronx gave recognition to her apology, she wasn't about to relax right then.
She gave a bit of a smile to the pup, the first she'd met of Nova Mountain, as he came a little close, then turned her gaze back to Bronx when his question was given. " 'Was just interested in the news about tresspassing,", she momentarily glanced off in the direction Soren had left, "Or in tensions concerning the pack in general.", she stated, upfront.

Wow. This is... extremely late. D: I've been trying to juggle Myth and WWS, and sneak in some Alliance time as well. Sorry, you guys! D:
The youth found himself still staring up at the face of the black wolf, his blues staring rather regretfully into the flaming eyes of Bronx. For a moment he was frozen this way, not even really paying any attention whatsoever to Soma. However, her voice snapped him out of the reverie, and whilst he was nervous and his heart threatened to burst from his ribs, he was forced to remain there. Her introduction was met with a nod on his behalf, but that was mainly because he felt too intimidated by both adults to speak. He simply listened to the verbal exchange, however irrelevant it was to his own desires, and left it at that simple stage. For a while he found it easy to concentrate on what both parties were saying, even though by then they'd finished their introductions and the general speech, but then it just got plain boring waiting and trying to hold back from speaking. He felt as if he was hardly worth the Phase name, even though it was well-known throughout the Salvajes, especially since the event with Chena. Realizing that Bronx had spoken to him, however, Tantamount turned his attention back towards the large male and grinned sheepishly.
"No, thank you," he managed to say, keeping to himself the realization that it sounded as if his voice was slightly strained. After all, a respectable male was not supposed to sound like some terrified little whelp that had just been threatened, and the adolescent stage was awkward without the addition of being shy around the adults. "Uh... Hi, Soma." That was more or less just for good measure; after all, he didn't want to impose.

Unfortunately for the handsome pup involved, he went almost entirely unnoticed by Bronx. That was, after the youngster had said his bit. After all, it seemed the pup had stalked and appeared just for the sake of… what, ignorant curiosity? Either that or he wanted a conversation that would suit his sheepish grin, but he’d get no such thing out of Bronx.
Since Soma, although nervous, was more direct and had questions (or at least inquiries) lined up, she had his attention and he proceeded to answer. “Soran didn’t give his news about trespassing. But as the pack’s Guardian, I’ve nothing to report,” he said, no seriousness in the word “report” at all; after all, he didn’t have to report to the subordinates. “Though maybe you should know that Nova Mountain and Silver Creek and on bad terms and always have been, really,” he paused briefly, “Sinistra will be holding a meeting soon, so you’ll learn about it then.”

Seeings how the situation had somehow managed to stabalise itself -- everyone having been introduced and so forth, Soma sat down on her haunches, and returned the salutations from Tantamount with a few sweeps of her tail, and a calmly spoken, "Hi there,", again with a smile to the adolescent. Despite that the pup had mentioned he needed no immediate attention from Bronx, she was curious as to what he was interested in.
Her ears and gaze were pulled back to Bronx with his disclosure, and she nodded, "Yes, I've already talked with Sinistra and Poet lightly on the subject...", of course refering to the Silver Creek - Nova Mountain strain, though Soren disappearing with whatever information he had was rather nagging. "But the pack meeting will surely be interesting then...". Her sight moved from Bronx to the spilling landscape behind him, draped with night's shadows now, "At least there seems to be a need for guardians around here then,", she said, assuming that if there were no need, there would be no guardian, and there was just simply no way you could have all positive and no negative. "I take it we're at least on Neutral grounds with the other packs?".

I'm going to pull Tandy out of here 'cause I'm just holding this thread up. Short post, too.
The Phase youth felt rather unwanted, to say it bluntly. Tantamount paused a moment to assess the situation more, but it was just mere talk of pack tensions, something he wasn't really interested in. Tail flipping behind him, the adolescent stood up and turned to leave before looking back at Soma and smiling. At least someone seemed half-way friendly in that little meeting circle. "I'm gonna... Go." This announcement was hardly needed, for by the time he voiced it he had already begun to walk stiffly away, feeling awkward and fairly horrible at the same time. That was when he began to lope away from talk of Guardians and of meetings, back towards familiar conversation-talk of Chena, talk of birthdays, talk of winter and autumn and all of those things that mattered more.

Bronx nodded briefly at Soma’s words; “yes, relations with Strawberry Fields and Mount Shadow seem fine…” then he glanced down to the youth who was, let’s face it, being terribly self-centred. He could see the sheer feeling of being unwanted in his eyes… and what was wrong with that? He was unwanted; at least by Bronx. The pup had hidden until told to show himself, and then contributed nothing to a conversation that included three adults – what had he expected? To be embraced and played with and smiled at? He certainly seemed to hold a grudge to Bronx just for being Bronx, seeing as Soma got a smile from Tantamount whilst the Præfectus went ignored. He just found this amusing.
Bronx’s impression of Tobin and Siaqi’s parenting skills kept getting more downtrodden as time went on.
Since this was by no means a meeting or full-on conversation – at least not to Bronx – but rather a walk-by, the dark male was soon on his way himself. Ignoring the self-centred pup, he nodded a friendly farewell to Soma (once she had said anything she wanted to say) before continuing his walk.

There wasn't much more Soma could do to acknowledge Tantamount's departure, besides taking note of his leave from the corner of her eye. The unfortunate fact of the matter (for the puppy) was that she was in a conversation with the guardian, however brief and in-passing it was. She felt it more of a fault to deny Bronx her full attention, then to be lacking in socialisation with the lately joining youth.
"Thanks for the insight,", she commended in appreciation, giving a bow of her head that represented such, as well as indication of her own leave shortly. In these early days of her membership to the pack, she was greatful for even the smallest details on, well, anything, whether it was pack relations, tellings of the lands within the Salvajes, or just a good place to go hunting. Upon receiving the guardians farewell gesture, the ebon and frost wolfess took to her own direction of calling, into the shadow-laden slopes of the Novan territory.
