Hawkspur! As promised, I'll love you forever for this, haha. ^^ Rainbow mood is: Interested

The first time he’d come here, he and a handful of other wolves had been blissfully unaware of the horrible act they were committing. The second time he’d ventured forth to quench a curious pang about the area he’d been set straight and had come to realize what was going on. And now… his third visit, he was more curious than ever, but smart enough to realize he wouldn’t made the same mistake again. He’d been foolish before, and even though many others had been as well it didn’t make it any more comforting. He wanted to right his wrongs – and maybe learn a little in the process. The Zayin also wouldn’t deny he had a hunger to know. This place had caught him and dragged him in somehow, and here he was again.
Except this time, he was standing before the cave that led to the Ho’nehe lands, waiting and wondering. In his jaws was a plump hare – an offering for the first to pick up his scent and investigate, and he could only hope such a visitor would be amiable. He didn’t dare call for someone, not wanting to be rude… but instead studied the cave itself. The rich old texture of the rock, the look of the worn pathways he had failed to discover upon his first entry. And the way it too, seemed full of secrets.

So paint it black. This would've been up quicker, but people kept coming into the room and distracting me. >>;
& take it back. Seated quite comfortably on the edges of the shrubbery that starkly announced the beginning of the Hó'nehe territories, a pair of bi-toned eyes where trained lazily on the gaping opening that quite literally led to another world. Ever since the meeting a few nights ago, Hawkspur had taken it upon himself to patrol these boundaries quite frequently, to ensure that no more of those simple minded idiots would slip through their nets, as it were, and continue to poison their lands with their ignorance. But with boredom settling like a black cloud over his mood, he was beginning to feel his hackles piqued by curiosity and the dark tunnel was beginning to look more inviting by the second.
After what would seem like an eternity, as time invariably does in periods such as these, he stirred his haunches into a lift and with a tentative look around, preened his ears to their lengths and padded quietly toward the entrance. He always found that the innards of this very cave was intriguing enough to say the least, but fortunately for Element the Ahtono'e's interests where draw past the intricacies of rock and wet stone. It didn't take him long to traverse its lengths and yet, he couldn't say he was particularly pleased when a bi-toned hued face was to be see staring back at him from the other side. In fact, it caused a frown to rumple his ruggedly handsome features instantaneously. "I can't go anywhere without any of you lots showing up, can I?"
It was at this point he noticed the hare and arched his brow according, stiffening his neck to raise his headpiece in the height of questioning, his tone the edge of subtle mockery. "Are you just planning a tea party or something?"

Thats okay. I love your writing, wheee. *Random*

It didn’t seem to take to entirely long for his presence to be noticed, but Element’s sights had lay on the intricate details of the stone – leaving time to pass as quickly or slowly by as it wanted without his notice. But his studying gaze shifted when movement flickered and caught his attention in the cave, and then from the relative darkness emerged a body. Immediately the Shadower bowed his head politely, diverting his gaze from the other males and giving a sort of wolven bow.
Releasing the hare from his jaws, he let it drop to the ground before raising his head again to address his greater. His first words brought the very beginnings of a slightly shameful frown to cross the Zayin’s features, but then it was erased and replaced with a more neutral tone again. The second statement, however, brought the first traces of a humorous smile. Only a little.
“Actually,” the male started, studying the other wolf with interest and respect. “It’s a gift.” He paused, letting the words sink in and wondering where to lead them next. “An apology, too. I came here once before foolishly – without paying attention to anything but my being curious, and trespassed on your lands. Needles to say, I’m ashamed of it. And I’m here to hopefully make amends.” Hopefully. “But if you’d like some sort of tea party instead, I could try for that to,” he finished, the corners of his lips lifting in a joking manner. Now, even more hopefully – this guy could take a few jokes.

A gift and an apology… well, wasn't he just a lucky little devil today! In fact, just the mere mention of an apology coupled with trespassing would bring about the recollection of Tiamat's visit to, funnily enough, apologise for doing exactly the same thing. Only, she hadn’t brought him—and Cochise—a pretty little present to emotionally blackmail them with and it was with this in mind that he decided right there and then that he liked Element a lot better than the Creek wolf. His stomach was something that was easier to manipulate than his emotions, quite evidently. "Oh. And here I was thinking you brought me a gift for my birthday." Without another word to convey his inward motives he continued with the fluid strokes of his gait, carrying himself adequately out of the tunnel's overhanging reach and around so that his lovely self could still see the front of Element.
He would seat himself here, conveying with his body language simply—because actually saying it would be too easy for Hawkspur—that he accepted his apology and was willing to let the Zayin entertain him for as long as he could hold Hawk's interest. The rich plume of his tail swept idly across the crumpled leaves littering the floor by his haunches and the Tribe male studied the hare for a moment before lifting his attention to the male, once more. "No, my little sweetie-pie, I don't want a tea party anymore. I want a birthday party." And with that he cracked any equally humorous grin as was currently adorning Element's lips.

Sweetie-pie, lmao. *Pets teh Hawkspur*

Luckily for Element, he seemed to have chosen just the perfect timing to come across an acceptable wolf of the tribe. His smile cracked further as the male responded, and the male was also quick to reply. “Birthday too? Lot’s of things going on today then, aren’t there? Well, Happy Birthday then – whether it’s early or late.”
It was a little odd to sit and quip when he’d come here as serious as can be, but it was a welcomed change form strict formality.
The male moved closed, and Element noted with ease how he seemed relaxed and agreed – the sign the Shadower’s offering had gone over well. He breathed a sigh of relief, and let his tail give a few quick wags before settling again on the chilly earth. A light wind whipped by in the open air, its delicate fingers pulling and draping through Element’s monochrome coat. The season was making itself well known.
The ‘sweetie-pie’ bit brought a nervous chuckle from his dark lips, but he let it pass over as another one of the jokes, hopping right back into the flow. “Well, if I get your name, I’ll be pleased to make the banner. I’m Element, from Mount Shadow.”
He was dying to know more about where they stood and what lay beyond them – hundreds of questions with little to no known answers, that this individual before him probably knew by heart. But out of respect he kept quiet, keeping the itch to learn locked inside… for now, at least.

& take it back. The sweep of his tail, idle in its very motions prior, now shifted across the emerald floors with a curling, almost genial motion to it, clearly expressing the Ahtono'e's pleasure that for whatever reason Element was willing to throw him a birthday party for something that was, unbeknownst to him, over half a year away. "Well, it can say "Happy Birthday Hawkspur!" on it… with a nice special little message from my Shadow buddy." His expression was where there lay a problem. For some reason that handsome Hó'nehe boy always had the undertones of sarcasm, mockery or something equally as sinister threading throughout his features that must have made him seem quite untrustworthy. And the tones which labelled his voices baritone curl often didn't help either. "I'm sure you can think of one."
But even now as the two feel beneath the cape of silence, Hawkspur was suspicious of the sudden motives for this meeting… or at least felt that there was an undertone that was to become quite evident in the moments following the introduction of his name into the stream of things. What he wasn't quite sure, but the keenest of senses had already dictated to him that this Element from Mount Shadow wasn't planning on getting any of his shadowy friends to jump him during his party. Whatever it was, he suspected that all this talk of a banner was just that: simply talk and that was just disappointing to say the least.

"Nice to meet you then, Hawkspur." Though he wasn’t perfectly comfortable, he found himself mostly as ease, letting the tides of conversation drift wherever they decided to move. “I’ll get to work on it right away.” The wind decided to pick up again – stronger this time. It threw itself towards the wolves, whistling through the trees and foliage and humming across the entrance to the cave. Element found his eyes wandering towards the entrance again, his interest peaking once more. But quickly he changed his gaze back to the other male, letting the smile remain to linger. “Wind’s feisty today, isn’t it?” He commented, right in time for another spike of air to travel across the land, a little weaker than the burst previously. “Chilly, too.” He wasn’t cold, thanks to his thick winter coat that was beginning to sprout, but the bitter wind tickled at his nose and ears.
He thought about it for a moment, and then decided to pose just a simple question that had formed there and then. “How’s winter go for you there? In the… Ho’nehe lands? Sorry if I got that wrong, I don’t really know much.” Simple curiosity, nothing else. “Up on the mountain we get a ton of snow.” He felt the need to be talkative for some reason, drilling up conversation to not let it be blown away with the wind.

So paint it black. :O! I've only just realised that you've been saying things OOC in your other posts and I've been missing them. ;_____;
& take it back.
"Likewise," He drawled without the conviction Element probably voiced the statement with and instead, turned his muzzle into the chilly sweep of the wind. It drew its invisible fingers across the fine creamy hairs of his snout, teasing each out of its perfect alignment, gently kissing the rough edges of his ebony button and whispering soft subtleties into the chaste hollow of his ruddy ear. Had he been in his own company, or at least not aware of eyes prying across his stocky form, he might have closed his argumentative gaze to appeal to the height of his senses, but resisted the momentary tugging desire. His interest simply remained averted till the baritone rumble of the male's voice snagged one of his ears into a twist.
Somewhat reluctantly, the roll of his eyes where quick to follow that action and narrowed visibly in consequence to the delaying small talk. "I've felt colder winds around this time," Hawk answered with an evident clipped feature creeping into the undertow of his words, wondering with a rawer intensity what exactly his companion was steering toward. And with the coming of the present came his answer and it seemed so obvious that the autumnal male almost scoffed at his own ignorance to what was right in front of his face. Of course he wanted to know about the Hó'nehe and the Hó'nehe-htso'e.
"Not wrong," he ventured in what could only be deemed as encouraging, "It's the same as any flat land really. Except we get a little more, with all the snow falling off the mountains that surround the Hó'nehe-htso'e." Then considering this was turning into a let's-share-a-like party he added, "Do you all move to the lower grounds of your territory then?"

Lol. Heh, it's okay. xD

Element, too, enjoyed the delicate grip of the wind, the scents it pulled along with it and the crisp breath it gave. He seemed somewhat intrigued by Hawkspur’s comment, and nodded accordingly; then adding his own information in. “I only came here - to the Salvajes, that is – around the end of last winter. So this is my first taste of autumn in the lands.” Where he’d traveled it had certainly felt cold before this time of year, but, well, he had been a pup, and that certainly had a bit to do with it.
Sitting there, the Zayin had a growing realization that he didn’t feel quite right about himself. Here he was, all but snooping. Or even if it wasn’t quite that, it had to have been something along the lines. Yes, he was as curious as any – but these wolves were no doubt secretive, right? Considering how they had been hidden from others. They probably wanted it that way. He held in a sigh, and tried to keep the little prickling annoyance at himself now from showing in his speech. At least he hadn’t messed the Tribe’s name up.
He was actually glad when Hawkspur posed a question back at him, and Element answered it eagerly. “Well, it’s not too bad. I suppose some do if they don’t feel like handling too much of a load, but if you know how to deal with it it’s not too much of a bother.” He wasn’t planning on moving anywhere this winter. “As long as you’ve got a nice den, I’d think your set. I think everyone pretty much stays put.” Depending on the circumstances, let alone the individuals, that’d be the deciding factors.
That twinge was there again - the inquisitiveness - and then along after came the guilt. He opened his mouth to speak, clicked his jaws shut and looked hesitant, and then opened them again. “Sorry if I seem… prying. I wasn’t intending to, I didn’t even think about it.” He shifted a bit uncomfortably, gaze shooting to his paws. “I won’t deny that your lands are a topic of interest for a lot of the other packs, though. I guess I’m just one of the curious many.” He was going to be honest. Now what?

Of all the other mountain packs he'd met in his travels, it had been customary to come down from the lofty heights of their peak to the lower lands where the snows depths and severity where considerably less and that was where the prey frequented. The latter would become increasingly important in the depths of winter when food was scarce and so, he found it strange that his pack would just… stay in the Mountain, for the most part. He shouldn't have been surprised, however, since these four packs in the Valley where a breed apart from the norm he was used to and so he replied to the answer with a simple "Oh," for lack of anything else to say.
Considering the majority of the Valley's inhabitants had at one point or another flooded over their lands like a swarm of locusts on a crop, with their stories of "ghosts" and other worldly things running rife off their tongues, it came as no surprise to him when Element said the Tribe was of great interest to them. In fact, he'd had a ton of prying little wolves trying to get their paws on their secrets, their reasons for being so near to their wild valley and anything else that happened to run along that similar vein of thought. Some of his Tribe members, such as Sakari, had been forthcoming with any information requested he believed, but he was more likely to give them all the run around than deliver anything partially useful to the inquirers.
"Your valley's "welcoming comity" did happen to bring it to my attention," And he resisted (somehow) the urge to tack on a constantly to the trailing end of this statement and instead swallowed it on the tip of his tongue. "Ask away," Spur said instead, twitching the ruddy curve of his ear in repose.

A slightly more sheepish smile came to him this time, and the Zayin held back a chuckle. He could only now imagine how much of any annoyance the valley wolves must have been (and how some probably remained) to be. Simulating the experience with Mount Shadow instead of the Ho’nehe’s lands, he was almost surprised that the whole ordeal hadn’t created more of an uproar… yet, at least. “I’d apologize for any members of my pack included, and I’m sure the others didn’t mean to trespass either.” Had not a single individual paid attention to anything? Element still couldn’t believe himself for not noticing the signs that clearly displayed ‘pack lands’ about the area. “You’re welcome to come to the Mount sometime, if it would mean anything,” he offered a bit hopefully. Any way to keep things good between the packs was something, no matter how small.
A surprise came next, and Element’s ears perked in response. Ask away? That meant he didn’t mind? The bundle of questions appeared again, each yelling for their turn to be asked, but the Shadower held them at bay once more, first allowing himself to give a pleased “Thanks.” Then, he selected a rather nagging question carefully. “How long have you and your pack been here? It’s amazing no one’s ever caught wind.” Pausing, he added one more thing to keep the conversation light. “Or maybe were all just a little dense. Who knows?”

& take it back. They also had a habit of apologising on their pack's behalves, he noticed. He found that a strange parallel to draw because never once would he or probably would ever apologise for the wrong doing of Rowtag (especially!), Olathe or any of the others. Simply because it was them who where in the wrong and the apology would only be worth the breath it used if it came from them. Don't get him wrong, Hawkspur appreciated the gesture Element was putting forward, but it wasn't his place to apologise, he felt, for anything other than his own "crimes" which had already been settled. The fact that he was sitting here talking to him as amicably as he was denoted that. So, it was with a soft nod and a shrug that he would acknowledge that shred of decency in the Mount wolf.
As for the invitation, the Ahtono'e tilted his head curiously at the prospect and pondered on the possibility of doing so. He, in the height of youth, was always an inquisitive thing creature from birth and if not only for the ways in which he could manipulate them, he was somewhat eager to learn about these wolves that were a far cry away from anything he'd even known before. "Yeah, maybe." came his round-about gratitude eventually.
Hawkspur would find momentary amusement in the way Element's ears perked at the suggestion that he would sate all his knowledgeable desires, but in truth the Neve'heth male was only prepared to answer a portion of them, which where in fact well known answers to most that had flocked to their borders. Nothing more invasive would be broached upon and thankfully (or not) the familiar ones came to curl in his ears. "I think the latter personally given your lack of respect for obvious borders. And your talk of roaming ghosts besides." But a brow perched and the sharper portion of his tongue retreated, as thankfully this was not one of the dumbest one of them that he'd encountered. "You're not the stupidest one I've come across, so that's something to be thankful for."
Nevertheless he shook his head, for shaking's sake, before continuing, in his own time of course, "We moved here recently. So that might be why."

Though the tribe wolf didn’t seem too thrilled per say about coming to the Mount for a tour or anything else of the sort, Element didn’t let it faze him. There seemed to be at least some interest there or the male was just being nice, but either way, the offer was there. Give or take.
Just as Hawkspur would allow himself to only send off a portion of the truth, Element knew he wasn’t going to ask many questions. It would have been rude of him, and even though he was keen to know he had better placement than that. The meek smile only remained as the brown male’s quick tongue shot back, but the Zayin didn’t take any offense. He had every right to say what he was saying, because all and all, it was true. The lands had captivated many that had come into it (well, trespassed into it) and placed in their imagination a vibrant picture. Ghosts and spooks an assorted jumble of other things. Only to find out later they weren’t in fact being watched by specters, but by real wolves themselves. It was funny, how even in grown up and sensible adults, such visuals could become such realities.
He gave a thoughtful “Hmm,” and then added “You’re probably right.” Upon the stupidity comment his smirk blossomed, trickling only at the corners of his maw as his head swooped sideways slightly in a delicate incline. “I guess I can take that as some kind of a compliment in there somewhere.” Then, moving on, he nodded at the response given to him, noting it down in his head and crossing out on of the hundred questions, leaving the ninety nine to go. But again for the sake of being polite, he only left one more to escape his maw. Being nosy wasn’t his thing, and he didn’t want it to come across that way, even if the entire situation was as intriguing and surprising as it was. “Probably,” he replied again. “So your pack… the Ho’nehe, would it be to much for me to ask why the cause of all this secrecy?” Otherwise, they all could have had a little welcome to the Salvajes party. Banners for all.

So paint it black. I hope you don't mind me finishing this off now. I won't be around later on (to post) and I'm not sure I'll get the chance to post tomorrow. I enjoyed it, though! :D
& take it back.
“So your pack… the Ho’nehe, would it be too much for me to ask why the cause of all this secrecy?” Wasn't it obvious? There mere fact that the Hó'nehe were taking such a dim view to trespassers all over their lands—as it wasn't just about wolven etiquette—would be a perfect indicator to the answer to that very question. But then, Hawkspur never did have to restate that he didn't think much of these wolves and their subsequent intelligence. Drawing in air deeply through his nasal passages, he let it filter out in a purposeful sigh, flicking his eyes upward whilst the action of doing such persisted.
It was only after the trail end had deflated his feathered chest entirely that he swung himself quite suddenly to his pinnacle, lifting his tail above the saddled arch of his back and letting his features contort into a an unfriendly expression. "We don't like outsiders." It was said bluntly, with any harshness perceived in his notes to be fully intended. And with that, and without so much as goodbye nod or other indicative to such, the Tribe's Ahtono'e stalked past him dismissively, about his way, as if Element hadn't even been with him in the first place.

I enjoyed it too. Thanks so much for doing that for me! *Hugs* I appreciate it so, so much. ^^

He knew from the moment the words left his mouth that they probably hadn’t been the best question to present. Immediately the Ho’nehe male’s expression changed; his look hardened and Element shut his mouth, a quiet but ringing ‘oops’ going off in his head. His mouth seemed to have gotten the best of him in this case.
Then, with no real signal of a desire to continue this conversation another bit, Hawkspur spat back a reply and moved by Element, back into the tunnel and out of sight. His curiosity drenched and replaced with a lingering wonder was all that remained, and rising to his feet he bid the shadows the Ho’nehe member had disappeared into a farewell. The rabbit he left where he had dropped it – for Hawkspur to come claim if he felt the wish too. And then, with that, Element turned and was gone from the scene, the meeting done as soon as it seemed to have began.
