He was in a time of disbelief, a time where he was unable to grasp what had happened. His one companion, someone that knew his deepest secret, had perished right at his paws despite his, and a silver-black male's efforts. It was late night as he walked, crown below his shoulders, spine slumped, tail drooped and ears folded, downsteam from Sparkling Springs. Crickets were chirping and the moon was on and off peeking from behind long, thin gray clouds.

He looked for all the world like he used to look in the arctic, a beaten omega, but his wounds were on the inside this time, except for a few scratches and cuts and bruises he had endured from several fights and trying to reach the mexican female — mostly unseen beneath his thick black fur. The Devil had really never lost someone he had come to care about, for he never really had anyone to lose, so Styx's death was tremendously hard on him.

At last, after wandering absent-minded, he found himself at the shores of White Rose Lake. Weariness overtaking him, he collapsed on the ground, a plume of dust spreading out from him. He faced the water, chin on the ground, forelegs stretched out in front of him, leaning against either side of his cheek.

Sinistra had told her to stay in the pack lands. And at first she had felt guilty about it, agreed to it only because of the way he had asked her.. so quietly, gently. Like she meant something to him. Yet as the nights passed she realized the false hope in such thoughts, knowing it was only because she was his pack member.. his pawn to move about as he pleased. Allure was certainly not a pawn, and as life went whistling passed, she was quickly proving it to many. Getting in to fights, whether emotional or physical.. it seemed every day was exhausting, and hard. And all she really wanted to do was go to sleep.

She couldn't, though. So the newly appointed Proprętor wandered to White Rose Lake, late at night. Her thoughts were no where in specific.. regret, perhaps, that she had told Sinistra just where her wounds had come from. Had she known the drastic measures he had taken she wouldn't have. She could only hope that he and Sphinx would work out differences, and the two packs could remain on their shaky agreement to disagree.

Hearing the soft brushing of another moving, her eyes glanced up, regarding the figure with growing disgust. She knew the black male from anywhere, those gleaming red eyes having burnt themselves in her memory for life. He was walking slowly.. everything in his posture speaking of defeat. 'Good,' she mused, deciding to pay him back for the previous actions he had bestowed upon her. Hadn't she been at one of her all time lows when he had come and attacked her? Having nightmares of her sister and waking up to him and his fury? She hadn't deserved it, and she was certainly going to show him so. After all.. Allure was no one's pawn.

What are you doing? She hissed the words in the same venomous tone he had used her, repeating the things he had said. Stepping forward, her nape arched low, her hackles bristling.. she glared him down, fangs revealed in a silent snarl.

He smelled her before he could see her, the scent familiar but still unknown to him. When at last he saw the black and white female approaching, he began to recall who she was. He had no name to her face, but he recognized her as the one he had met at the lake before, and in his foolish unrelated anger he had engaged in a fight with her. She did not deserve that, and after the fire in his chest had calmed he knew that.

He remained still on the ground, feeling no threat from her, confident that he could act should she decide to continue their fight now that their wounds had healed. He did not even look at her, his red eyes still looking across the lake, but he could see her fine in with his peripheral vision. What does it look like. he replied flatly, his tone quiet but distant. It was only a matter of time before she picked up the scent of her pack member on his fur, the scent that he had been inhaling with grief since he had layed down.

She was surprised the male hardly removed to her response, but it did nothing to settle her anger that boiled in her. 'What does it look like.' It hadn't been a question, but a simple statement. Taking a step closer, her small frame quivered with the disgust and fury she felt for the creature before her. That.. thing. Is this my cue to attack you? Return the favor, perhaps?

She shouldn't have been here. Not with him. She shouldn't even be speaking to him.. not before Sinistra spoke to Sphinx. The words she spoke now could be considered fighting words, and provoking him was with no doubt a huge mistake. Did she care, though? No. She moved closer, circling around from his back, though she made no move to pounce. To do anything. It was then that the scent hit her, hard. Nova Mountain on his fur. Styx. Her eyes narrowed, the thoughts of the male attacking their medic piecing together in her mind. Moments passed, and her tone turned to ice, no longer upset because of what he had done to her, but what he might have done to one of hers. What... her tone was low, her words filled with entrust and hate. did you do to her?

Go ahead, he snapped with a low growl. He just couldn't bring himself to care if he bled or not. He was too far wracked with grief. He also doubted she would also do it. Somehow it seemed like she didn't want to make the first move, did not truly want to fight him again. Or else, he thought, she would have done so already, would not have hesitated to make a move when he was in a vulnerable position such as this.

She circled him, but soon her attention was diverted. Her anger calmed enough to allow the thick scent of Styx to reach her nose. Perhaps even the scent of death as the black male embraced his lifeless companion. Nothing. He said quietly, closing his eyes, his soft, somber tone betraying his feelings on the subject. Cypress and I tried to save her, but we were unable to.

The words he growled to her only caused her own snarl to rise in volume, her tail giving a quick lash, pink tongue swiftly caressing across her ivory points. She should back up, leave before something escalated. She didn't trust herself not to try to bleed him dry.

His words didn't register at first. The 'nothing' bringing another soft snarl in warning. If he had torn in to her like he had -- '..tried to save her, but we were unable to..' The words cut her thought process and she stared at him blankly for moments. The implications of the words finally broke through to logic, recognizing that he sounded like.. she was dead or something. What the fuck did you do? She obviously didn't believe he had tried to save her. He had obviously maimed her, done something. Or he was playing a horrible trick. And that seemed to be the best case scenario at the moment. Did you attack her? Did you hurt her? Her voice was rising, so close to a breaking point of hysteria.. so close to full throttled anger that her body was shaking, her eyes filled with pure loathing as she watched him. dared him to tell her what really happened.

Now he was roused, defensive that she should think he would hurt someone he had come to think of as a companion, someone whose death troubled him so. He rose to his feet and whirled on her, bristled and snarling. She fell of a cliff! He snapped, his breath ragged, almost shaking just like the female. Both wolves were in emotional turmoil. Cypress and I dragged her from the water, held her to keep her warm, tended her wounds, but we could not tend those inside! He was shaking now, his muscles tense but quivering.

There was silence as his red eyes locked fiercely to her cyan ones. She's dead. But it's not. My. Fault. Each word emphasized more than the one before, leaning into her face, saliva from his rough breathing dripping from exposed fangs.

She heard the words, disbelief still numbing her small frame, though her mind re-awoke as the black male leaned towards her face, her own anger flaring to his daring move as her pink tongue swept out, caressing her fangs.

Her mind swam, the faintest of images as Styx rolling down from a cliff and becoming nothing but a massive heap of flesh coursed her mind and she quickly pushed it away. She couldn't grasp that he tried to help her, couldn't fathom it. How could such a creature have anyone's well being put before his own? Stay the fuck away from me. A low growl rumbled through her chest, wondering what the two had done with the body of her pack member. If either of them had thought to tell Sinistra, or any of Nova Mountain's members.. was she perhaps the last to know?

And stay the fuck away from Nova Mountain.. from my family. Family, she was sure, was a concept he didn't believe in. Wouldn't understand. She didn't give a damn what he did or didn't understand -- what he felt. Only that he had better follow these new demands of hers. You've done more than enough, you vile.. sad excuse of.. Rage. She was shaking with rage and disgust, and each emotion burned from her eyes to his, far stronger than the deathly color of those red eyes. She sneered, backing up, hackles bristling. There's no word fit enough to describe just how low you actually are. Cold words, she erupted one more snarl, turning her frame quickly and bounding back to the foliage, to the direction of the Mountain. She couldn't stand his presence any longer.

He stood steadfast letting the black and white female unleash her verbal rage. All the while his snarl left never left his face. He didn't expect her to believe him, but it greatly angered him that she thought he had been responsible for his only companion's death. Still, he said nothing back, gritting his teeth audibly, until she turned to leave. He shouted out to her then. Sparkling Springs! Check with Cypress! If she heard him, chances are she'd ignore him, but he had to say something to attempt to clear his name in this matter. He remained where he was for a while, but once she was gone from sight, he too, turned and headed off.
