Soma's paws were travelling slowly across the cool earth, perhaps too fast for her, and yet it all seemed like a slow-motion time frame. The cavernous tunnel, like a gaping mouth of the earth was before her, her gaze pinned to it, as edgy as it was to do so. She stopped merely a couple metres before the point where it's entrance was swallowed up by shadows. Twilight had a way of being illuminated, wihtout a sun, and yet much of the land was in shadows and silhouettes, and she assumed that this was the reason she could see no end nor exit to the tunnelling pathway. She knew this to be the way to the Tribe's territory, well, was fairly sure of it, so knew that somewhere in there was a way through. Her instincts were screaming and flailing and clawing at her from the inside; large, dark tunnels like this, where she had originated from anyways, usually meant Grizzlies. And you surely, not ever in your right mind, wanted to embark on a situation such as that.

She had no intentions of trespassing, and thusly there was an air of caution about her... Would the boarders start where the tunnel ends? This would be something she'd have to discover along the way. What brought her here was intrigue, as she had been enlightened with mentions of a band of wolves living somewhere hidden, past Nova Mountain. Sinistra's words, hovering in the back of her head as though watching her every move, were to "extend every courtesy to our new neighbors", and though this was her first time on a venture, knowingly or otherwise, to the Tribe's lands, there was no question in following the order. Concentrating more on those formulated endeavors, she took a deep breath and stepped forward into the darkness, certain she could handle whatever it would bring to her, with stability and a level head.

OoC - Just to let everyone know, I'm not intruding, Soma and I wanted to start this one together.

IC - Cayara was meandering around, as usual, still exploring when he caught Soma's scent. It was unusual for him to find that here, where so many odd scents abounded. Those odd scents were precisely the reason he was in the area, intriguing him and capturing his interest to the point where he didn't want to leave without investigating it further. He knew that he was close to something unusual, aside from the scents, and so when he caught Soma's scent, nearly a week and a half after having first met her, he was delighted to find it going in the same direction he had decided to travel. He followed it quickly, wanting to catch up to his friend so they might share an adventure, perhaps, or just an afternoon together.

He caught up to her just in time to see her ducking into the mouth of the tunnel. "Soma!" he called out, happy to have found her, and even happier to have found this intriguing place. He was excited, enlivened by the atmoshpere of the place. Even as a puppy he had loved exploring places such as this, a habit that he'd had to repress once he realized that, especially in the north, almost all such retreats were occupied by something unfriendlier than him.

Running over to the mouth of the tunnel after her, he wanted to dash inside and begin exploring, but he realized that it might be foolish for him to do, especially if she was turning around to come out. He didn't know if he was intruding on something, after all, or if he wasn't supposed to be here, even though he understood that the tunnel itself served as some kind of border, or boundary, for another pack. He didn't know much more about it than that, and his spirit of inquisitiveness had been pressing him to find out, even though he knew so little about it all. "Soma?" he said again, a little quieter this time, in deference to the fact that she was inside the tunnel. "It's Cayara."

Hopefully this Hó’nehe will be alright for you. :)

Considering that there was no one around to torment and there just seemed a distinct lack of… anybody or anything to do, Hawkspur had seated himself by the side of cave mouth, hoping one of those "wild" wolves would come down here to play—since he was already in one of those moods anyway. As it happened, the overwhelming stream of trespassers had steadied considerably and by gum, the Ahtono'e thought they were actually starting to get the point. If it were at all possible to comprehend something actually getting through their thick heads and then, setting up shop there. The only problem was, after spending weeks chasing them all out of the Hó'nehe-htso'e and rather enjoying it too, the lack of intruders made his time seem all the more empty now that they were all "gone".

Nonetheless, as ruddy lids lazily crept down over his mismatched eyes and a gentle, rocking sway enveloped the sit of his body, his boredom didn't seem quite as potent as he came to believe it was actually starting to kill him. But, after several lifetimes appeared to have passed and penetrating like a brick through a window in the hanging silence of the Tribe lands, would be the faint scuffle of a paw on rock from within the cave—a noise which he'd grown used to hearing. Twisting the nearest ear toward the sound, his left eye opened and a deviant smirk criss-crossed its away across the edges of his smudged muzzle. It continued, going further and further into the bowels of the cave, and consequently, closer and closer to the waiting Hawk… but never once did he stir.

It was only then, shifting through the layers of glassy quiet and darkness that he became aware of a masculine voice, faint due to its distance but audible by the intrusive Spur never the less. "Soma? It's Cayara." It lead him to (correctly) assume, this Soma-bird was in the tunnel and this Cayara-guy was standing at the other end… like a pansy might he add. Even now, the anticipation was beginning to choke him and the Neve'heth boy couldn't even wait till Soma breeched this side of the world.

He was up upon his speckled paws in an instant and thrust his head excitedly into the cave opening. At first, he could pick nothing out in the damp, darkness of the tunnel, but after a short period, the wolfess dabbling in these unknown depths became apparent to his seeking sights. His eyes suddenly went wide with enthusiasm as his baritone voice echoed the same emotion apparent in his sights. "Oh, my." It grew higher in its tempo and the corners of the grin on his face literally kissed the corners of his eyes. "OH, MY!"

The wagging of his tail reached fever pitch behind his dark quarters, lashing with air with unrestrained delight. "I can't believe it!" In fact, as the type of his gaze caught the haze of the male wolf stood at the other end, this male almost went hysterical, shifting his weight from side to side rapidly, as if about to explode because of his discovery. "It's Soma and Cayara! SOMA and CAYARA!" And the twitter of his voice rapid and high quite suddenly intoned to cap it all off, "I'm just… I'm just going to have to go tell my mom, about this…" Because it was just too good to be true!

Out of character: This should be great X3
---

Soma's entire body had been very tensed, with each forward stride into the pitch dark cave being a careful, prudent one. The hint of a wince came over her at any scraping and clattering noises her own paws and claws summoned from the loose rocks and stones beneath them, as the occurance sent strange echoings through the blackness. At each noise, she, however, was expecting the snarl of something fierce and ten times her size, and so it wasn't a surprise when she froze momentarily as words struck her ears.

"Soma?".

"Soma? It's Cayara.".

She glanced over her shoulder to find Cayara at the mouth of the tunnel, and gave him a smile and a nod to the recently-made friend,, before turning to face down the direction she was travelling -- she didn't want to keep her eyes off the unknown ahead. "Come along with m--", she had begun to invite him, with barely more then a whisper when she was abruptly interrupted. It hadn't startled her as much as Cayara's voice had, evne though Cayara's voice was familiar and this next was not.

"Oh my,"... "Oh my!"

Soma's eyes grew a little wider, as her pace through the passage way slowed, and she bent her neck forward, and she held back from letter her mouth grow slack in quizzical awe. What was this guy... talking about? She gave a second glance over her hsoulder to see if Cayara had yet started in after her (hoping she had gotten the jist of what she'd meant to say), then peered back to see if she could make out what was now, obviously, on the other end of this route. Blinking, she could indeed, make out the outline of someone, but... she was unsure. He had spoken, no, practically cheered their names as if their arrival was long-awaited. It didn't occur to her immediately that he could've pulled those names from Cayara's calling, so at this point, she was inconclusive as to if this wolf was someone she'd met before or not. Her tail swayed steadily behind her, and she was now wishing she new exactly what this fellow's name was, so perhaps she could return the exclaimation. Whether or not she had met him before, she didn't forget her manners, and made use of them, her ears folding back to her skull, and she crouched ever-so-slightly as she travelled, however this may have contrasted with her other actions.

Her gate increased again, as if drawn to this ambiguous character, "uh...Hi there!", she called out to him, now considerably closer to his end as opposed to Cayara's end. She wanted to laugh to herself for sounding maybe a bit to enthusiastic for herself, but it couldn't be helped now. It seemed she was too willing to practically leap into the arms of concrete safety, away from mental phantoms of Grizzlies and other disagreeable company, ignoring the fact that if this someone's mother was informed, it could mean the banishing of any safety there might've been. Oh well! Who cares right now!

He was at the mouth of the tunnel, looking inside and waiting for her to respond. He was a little confused as to why she was going so slowly. The tunnel seemed very dim to him, but he was used to the pitch black Arctic nights and he had little trouble making out the few impediments that lay just inside the mouth of the tunnel. He wasn't at all scared, excited yes, but not scared, so he couldn't understand her fear.

When Cayara heard her invitation to come along, he was thrilled. As soon as he had looked into the dim tunnel he'd wanted to plunge inside, despite the fact that it looked as if, in some places, it would be a rather tight squeeze. So when she began speaking he immediately darted inside, trotting easily along the tunnel in the darkness, until he heard a voice from the other end. He paused to think for a moment.

The tone was, to him, pleasant, and yet there was something not quite right about the way the words mixed with it. He didn't recognize the voice in any case, so he was confused as to why its owner would be so excited to see him. Perhaps Soma knew this wolf, and she might have mentioned him, unlikely but possible, but she had frozen when she heard the voice as well, leading him to think that it wasn't the case. In any case, he wasn't sure he liked the situation, but he didn't want to leave Soma alone if something bad was to happen. Aside from that, his curiousity had been piqued, and he wanted to continue.

He began walking down the tunnel again, not as fast as before but he still wanted to catch up to Soma. He neared where she had stopped, pausing and looking around a bit before continuing towards the two figures silohuetted against the light coming through the tunnel's exit.

The fact that the female, Soma, greeted him with a toned down enthusiasm—from his own pitch anyway—only seemed to make matters worse. It was like throwing wood on a dying fire and Hawk sprang into a whole new frenzy. His weight hopped from forepaw to forepaw in an erratic dance, his breath panting out through flared nostrils to compliment the excited whines that would make their way past lips still plastered in a fool-hardy grin. That tail had particularly become a blur as he quite literally bounded into the tunnel and nipped along her jaw-line with the same bubbly nature she'd come to associate with his cheekily handsome face. However, it was during this display that the Ahtono'e realised that their little friend wasn't getting caught up on the let's-burst-with-excitement-train.

And so, Hawk left his female companion alone—although, his tail would still be hitting her—moving toward his intended victim in subtly sweeping bounds that this tunnel would allow. Personal space wasn't a luxury in this place and the Tribe male made it quite evident as he pressed the moist surface of his nose up against Cayara's, so the two literally had little pig noses through his effort, and held the others eyes with the eerily penetrating gaze of his. His ear stretched forward and trembled with the strain as if trying to reach the other male's crown by folding forward, whilst his hind limbs still jostled around uncontrollably. "Why haven't you said anything?"

He keenly let a hurt edge creep into that query as if his reservations where an insult, but the unrestrained-squeak of his energized timber soon slipped back. "Aren't you excited to be here Cayara?"

How could she not have been torn out of her shell in the midst of such an overenthused, thoroughly amusing wolf, with maybe a touch of (bad?) influence about him. This was something new she had discovered about herself lately. Having sunk into a greatly new lifestyle from any she had previously lived, she was finding herself easily swayed by the aura's of those around her. Whether this was a positive or negative new atribute, she had yet to decide. And now was absolutely not the time for such profound things. How oculd you when you've just been shoved into a frenzy of bizarre greetings.

If it weren't for said frenzy, she probably would've been disturbed, or at least shyly startled by the brusque and forward contact he made with her jaw line. Instead, it only aroused some mischievous urge to recipricate the action in a playfully vengeful sort of way. She gave a unwieldy side step, her side bumping against the wall of the cave, while her other side was now being fwapped in a drumming manner with the male's tail, looking as though it were the pinnacle of all his enthused energy.

Gazing back between both her own body and the nameless male's at the odd, nose-to-nose confrontation him and Cayara were now in, her attention was pulled to other things by impish means. Trying the best to hit her target in the dimly lit cave entrance, she ducked her head down to make a couple quick, sharp nips at his smacking tail, and as soon as she had done so, she was leaping towards the end of the tunnel and out into the open, and making a three-sixty turn, all in one motion. Now facing back into the passage she had just sprung from, she eagerly awaited to see the results, leaning back and down into a half-bow, and preparing an oh-so innocent maskfor whatever was to come of it.

Even as he watched the interaction between Soma and this new wolf, he remained very unsure of the situation. He'd never been around any wolf that acted even close to this odd, and he had no clue as to whether or not this was just an act for some reason or other, which he suspected, or whether this was true enthusiam for their arrival. Either way, he decided, he didn't like it. If it was an act, he didn't see the purpose of it and didn't want to bother with it, whether it was covering up good or bad intentions. If it wasn't, then this wolf was insane and had to be carefully dealt with.

He began moving forward again, very uncomfortable with the situation, especially with the fact that they were still in the tunnel with this crazy (possibly) wolf. When he saw the other wolf coming towards him, he set his paws, expecting an attempt to bowl him over, playfully or not. When the other wolf stopped and pushed their noses together, he was so shocked that he didn't move at all for a few moments as the other spoke. However, his personal space he just been invaded, something that he wouldn't put up with. For years at a time he'd had no space to defend but his own, and he'd done that as best he could. However, given that they were guests and he didn't know the intentions of this wolf, he decided that a violent reaction of any kind was inappropriate. So instead, he responded in kind.

Looking down his nose at the other wolf, he smiled and said, "I'm not there, but will soon be." As soon as he finished speaking, he quickly tipped his nose down, pushing his forehead forward. The other wolf had been pushing his nose forward against Cayara's, and now that there was nothing blocking his way, the only way to go was forward. Their foreheads met with a loud thunk, a blow that would sit most wolves down for a while. Cayara was prepared though, so the force of the blow only crossed his eyes for a split second. When they refocused he looked to see how the other wolf had fared, wondering if he now had to engage in a pushing contest against this smaller wolf.

Cayara's golden eyes instantly slid to their nasal corners, looking down that burnt orange nose of his to look at the offending Hawkspur and the two-year-old's smile grew wide, with a sinister twist creeping across those black lines. He had little time to indulge in what he'd been planning to do next for as this instant snapped into the next, he felt the razor sharp edge of teeth across the rich surface of his plume, his attentions shifting back and denoted with a rapid twist of his ears. It appeared the female was assaulting his tassel in revenge for beating it against the rising flanks… but little harm was ever meant and no sooner had she done it, was she playfully dancing around outside. Possibly waiting for the two males to join her.

Yet, whilst his attention had been diverted away from his nose-pressed companion, the Nova male obviously had other plans to get out of this situation. The friction of roughly moist snouts was enough to twitch his ears back toward Cayara (his articulation unheard in the swallowing darkness). But no sooner had he done so, when the forehead of said male cracked into his. A spidering of pain erupted out from the epicentre of the bang-point and Hawkspur's headpiece instinctively coiled into to press against the feather of his chest. It radiated outward, pulsing behind his eyes for a few moments before eventually it relented and the tight curl of his digits against the hard rock now loosened considerably.

Only, Hawkspur wasn't exactly beating the sides of the cave with his unsettling enthusiasm as he was before. Ever the moody sod in normal circumstances, he couldn't help but let his temper boil up and a curling ball of heat began to build pressure in his chest. A low growl would rattle in his throat as his eyes would narrow penetratingly on the cause of his headache. "What the hell was that for?" He snapped, forgetting temporarily the second part of this duo who was currently on the Tribe lands.

The dusky Novan female had barely picked up on cayara's voicings, and she wasn't quite sure as to all that was going on in the innerds of that tunnel. However, she did quickly pick up on the change of atmosphere in the dark depths, apparently resulting from some movement, asoft thud, and more movement... But what sank her own dauntless waggishness was the halting of the Tribe wolf's wild tail. Not a good sign, to be sure. If that wasn't bad news enough for her, the growling and snapping demand from the previously excitable male froze her still where she stood.

Oh god -- where she stood! A closterphobic trapped sensation washed over her, equivalent to the scenario of being on the verge of being caught with your hand affixed inside a cookie jar. Her form shrank almost instantly, despite the fact it wasn't good enough for her own comfort, she definitely would've prefered to disappear for a little while altogether. What had she gotten herself into now? She was on their land, and to her knowledge, without a proper invite.

Her ears couldn't have gotten any more flat against her skull, her legs were bent beneath her and her tail partially tucked, she slowly slunk to the tunnel's mouth, sliding herself right upagainst the inside wall. She didn't really want to get too close to the two males now, but it was better then continueing to prance around as a trespasser. She could only hunker down against the rocky wall and see what would come of things, as she hid her muzzle behind a small rock projection. Soma could really make use of that innocent expression now.

As he refocused, he saw that the other male was still standing, a good sign to his mind. He hadn't want to hurt him, just let him know his thoughts about being so close. Their eyes were just a few inches apart, but he could immediately tell that the facade, if that's what it was, had been dropped. An unconfrontational wolf even in the worst of times, Cayara began to wonder if he'd made a mistake. He wouldn't have dared do that if the other wolf was of a higher rank than him, but here was someone who he could treat as an equal, doing something threatening to him. No, he realized, as he thought more about it, no he was still in the right. This other wolf had approached him, invaded his personal space, no matter whose land they were on, and all he'd done was to respond.

"Why you so close?" he asked in his broken speech. He was confident that he could hold his own against this wolf, in a fight or not, but he was a little concerned about Soma. He knew she was out of the tunnel, and even though they hadn't been turned away, and they were with a wolf belonging to the territory, she hadn't gotten a clear invitation yet. Things could turn bad, quickly, if things went the wrong way. He wanted to try and ice things over quickly, but he couldn't think of how. Shrugging it off, he waited to see what might happen next.

Cayara answered rather calmly, Hawk thought, given the predicament he currently found himself in and for the first time he noticed, maybe because it wasn't quite as evident before, that his English was broken and that it might not have been his first language. Regardless of whether he could find himself relating or not—and he could—he twitched his eyes visibly. "I was being friendly..." Came the contorted hiss of his chords makings, through clenched and slightly bared teeth, "…you know, a bit of harmless fun." The cinnamon of his tail made warning lashing sweeps behind his back as the Neve'heth Tribe wolf thought to add, "And regardless, you're on my land now so I'll do what I like."

He soon became acutely aware of a movement behind him, a slow scuffling sort of noise betraying Soma and Hawkspur suddenly remembered that she was present too. He swung his muzzle around, his features hugging no expression in particular, as mismatched eyes picked their way across her submissive movements back into the cave. Honestly, he didn't have a grudge or ill-bearing toward the Nova female and so far had found her the most pleasant of company… and someone who had matched his enthusiasm equally, no matter whether it had been ill-rooted or not. Nevertheless, he swung back toward Cayara, the lengths of his hackles trembling with heated anticipation at the base of his nape.

No matter how much he would relished getting into a fight with the Nova male, he was distinctly aware of the consequences that would align themselves afterward and it was something he could do without. But, even as he began to rein in the brunt of his ill temper, given the cause he wouldn't hesitate to spring like a trap on the other male—or female, because they could be just as unpredictable sometimes—since with cause Anasazi wouldn't come down on him as hard. "Now take her and get out, before I feel so inclined to pop your flamin' bubble."

Analysing the speech being passed strainedly between the two males, she easily pieced together that one of them, no doubtedly Cayara, had taken quite an ill-favoured maneuver, considering they were visitors, and had been granted chance to finally meet a tribe wolf. She sighed, heavily, though it was inward, as far as her visible expression went, her features had transposed to a sickenly disappointed look. She inhaled, shakily, seriously regretting Cayara's actions, as she really had hoped to befriend the tribal male, or at least become aquainted better. Her stomach became tense with his demand that the two, Cayara and herself, leave. She forced her paws to push her form towards the two, in preparation to follow his orders respectfully, still hugging the cave wall.

She lifted her head from it's hanging position to look at the still nameless stranger, her face denoting both hopefulness and let down, as a glimpse of an idea that perhaps she could find him on a later date passed through her head, and maybe even resume the frolic. For now though, his frame of mind held domain over her actions and she wasn't going to disobey him on this land, no matter how much she longed to stay. She couldn't bring herself to placing her gaze on Cayara for the time being, who could blame her, taking into consideration what the entire purpose of her travels here had been, and what they had mutated into now.

He realized he'd made a grave mistake, and the disappointment painted on Soma's face was really more that he wanted to be responsible for. There was only one way that he could think of out of this, even though he felt as if he'd done nothing wrong. Taking a deep breath, he said, "Wait." Sinking slowly to the floor, he lay down completely, chest and hips flat and pressed against the floor. Thinking that his simple display of submission, more an apology than a gesture of extreme respect, wasn't going to be enough, he decided to elaborate on his reasons.

Looking up respectfully, he began to speak. "I'm sorry. I not used to wolves...others. I grow up alone, and I still trying...." he thought hard for a moment to try and find the words he was seeking. "I still try to...understand...other wolves, actions. I confuse other's actions, sometime." Smiling a little to himself, he continued. "I make mistakes sometime, big mistake. Big mistake here. So I sorry." Looking to Soma, he continued, this the longest monologue he'd had since his arrival. "If you want me leave, I go. But not Soma. It not fair her, it my mistake. So I go, but Soma stay?" He sincerely hoped that Soma would be allowed to stay, even if he wasn't. He realized he'd screwed up, but he felt the other wolf's reaction was a little strong, making Soma leave too.

Unsurprisingly Soma slipped immediately past him, her streamlined body still in the throes of creeping submission and warily he watched that hopeful and altogether downcast look shot his way. He got the distinct feeling that it was meant to stir him into a heroic type of motion, suddenly striking his energy upward with a sudden, "Oh, just stay!" but oddly enough he didn't signal for her to stop or even feel the need to in the slightest. Instead Hawk simply noted that when her gaze tore away from his handsomely defined features, it never once lingered on Cayara… not even for a second. Had he unintentionally thrown a spanner in the works on lover's paradise?

Whilst he idly contemplated this development of sorts, for lack of anything else to ponder whilst waiting for them to go away, the echoing rumble of Cayara's voice caught him unawares, his articulation to do so even more in the moments following. The twitch of his ruddy coca ears denoted the shift in his attention back to the Nova male as well as the subtle rolling of his arguing eyes, his mouth settling into a grim line. The next minute Cayara was lowering himself to the floor, pressing every inch of his underside onto the cold, damp floors of the cave and further elaborating the reasons for doing so.

Whilst it was cute that the essentially foreign male would literally grovel so that his friend could stay, Hawkspur didn't see why he should care. It wasn't his fault that his own mood had been soured—in his own opinion, anyway—and casting a look over the pair he couldn't really see what he could gain from them staying here. From consequential meetings with others he had learned everything he thought he should know about the valley and this pair didn't look like they could tell him anything else that would sufficient enough for him to waste his time further here.

But, with impending boredom growing like a dark cloud over his not-so-pure aura, Hawkspur felt oddly compelled not to throw them out as quickly as he'd previously wanted to. His temper had cooled dramatically and as long as they didn't bark up the wrong tree, he supposed they might have hidden depths or something nice and flowery like that. "Fine," He practically snapped, "Stay if you want." Exasperatedly he rolled his mismatched eyes, sighed heavily before speaking in a more civil, if not monotone manner. Perhaps he couldn't believe he was saying this. "Both of you. And sit up Cayara. I don't want you dying of rot or something. If you do, there's no way I'm moving you out of here."

The dusky female received pretty much nothing in response to her gaze towards the unnamed one, but she expected no more or no less, and accepted it. It didn't feel as though it was her place to linger and sort out the situation -- she knew, from face-to-face experience that such things didn't work, at all, and had paid a dear price for attempting such things in the past, but that was over a year ago. Nonetheless, the lesson learned was still with her. Her paws had planned on taking her right past Cayara, in a slow, solemn retreat with not another word spoken, but then, from Cayara, was more shuffles of movement. She expected nothing of what Cayara was now pulling off, joining the stones and rocks of the cave floor, right there at the Tribe wolf's paws. She blinked, and froze, not in shock, but because she felt suddenly tensed, unsure of what would come of these actions, or if it was a good idea. A wolf angered enough wouldn't hold back from getting physical, just because the other wolf submits, and the phantoms of such knowledge were now loitering in her expectations.

Her ears swivelling to take in the cloudy male's exposing oration better, her head turned very slightly so she could watch from the corner of her right eye, still unsure of the scenario. It seemed like an hour, the vacant voiceless pause between Cayara's plea and the other male's anticipated judgement. She wasn't even sure why she hadn't just continued on back through the passage, even if they were granted permission to stay, at the least, in the tunnel, it probably would be an awkward stay.

When his answer, however snappy, rang out through the cave that had seemed to grew unnaturally quiet, and even if it was only half a minute from the last moment words were spoken, she was relieved, although it was incredibly bittersweet relief. The lightheartedness of the initial meeting was irrevocably distant. Coming to rest on her haunches now, with a ninety degree turn to rest her back against the cold, dank cave's inner side, she figured they'ed have to just make the best of it, and however far they could redeem the atmosphere. Her lips pressed together firmly as she did have to make an effort to suppress a grin at the comment about Cayara rising from the floor.

A thousand thoughts flickered through his head as soon as he finished speaking, a thousand possibilities in front of him as he wondered what result his speech might have. He stayed on the rather uncomfortable floor though not wanting to move. As the still unnamed wolf in front of him paused, Cayara could almost see him thinking, almost see him getting ready to tell them to leave. He fervently wanted to be wrong about that, but he knew he wouldn't be. He tensed up slightly, getting ready to stand and go away, but then Soma walked past towards him.

As soon as Soma walked past, Cayara could see the abrupt shift in gears and his hopes began to rise as well. When the other began speaking, he jumped a little, startled by the sudden, and unexpected break in the silence. His heart leapt when they were told to stay, and he had to resist the impluse to leap up and romp with this other wolf. Instead, he too chuckled at the comment about staying on the floor, and slowly rose up to stand across from the other. Cayara bowed his head, thanking him, before looking up again and saying, "Thank you....I don't know name. But thank you."

I'm really sorry for the delay.

Soma had slunk back toward them and seated herself by the two males, still as silent as ever and if Hawkspur hadn't heard her speak before, he would've sworn she was mute. Cayara, looking relieved that they could stay, lifted himself up from the floor presently, bowing his head in that silent thanks-kind-of-way. Hawkspur, not really one for those types of things, twitched his upper lip in a way of acknowledging that Cayara had done so, then just remained stoic as the foreign wolf began to speak in that baritone rumble the Tribe wolf had grown accustomed to. It wasn't a surprise that neither knew his name because he so rarely gave it out. He hated the fact that knowing someone's name meant most assumed they where friends… and he certainly wasn't that with any of them.

However, he had shown a somewhat softer side to his persona, even if it was still prickly and cold, and so in a rather emotionless flick of his tongue he added, "Hawkspur," for all those desperate to know. Yet, now there seemed a period where none knew what to say, a tension settling in the air from their prior disagreement that clashed horribly with the light-heartedness that appeared a dim and distant memory. He shifted, cleared his throat and glanced around the familiar walls of this cave, which so many had trespassed through. It seemed forever before he looked back to the pair, the suddenly mute Soma and the more talkative Cayara, before he finally thought of something worth saying. Well, sort of.

"So, which one of those packs up there are you both from...?" Then he had this sudden feeling that they might say Silver Creek, since practically everyone he'd met had been from that pack. So much so, and as he would later express to the rather unfortunate Leviathan, he was sure they had a crush on him. Worshipping him he probably didn't mind, but crushes... well, they were something else entirely. "And don't say Silver Creek. I really would have to throw you out on yours asses, because I've seen enough of them as it is."

The monochrome wolfess really had no place for speach as Cayara aimed for cleaning up the situation with some thanks, and as the same time, subtly requested the tribe wolf's name, which was soon, if not a bit reluctantly, given as 'Hawkspur'. It was a strange silence, because normally, she would've given her own name, but this mood-swung male had picked up on both their names already, so again, she wasn't sure what to say next. Her eyes had travelled from Hawkspur, past him to the land beyond the cave. Despite having already tred on it for a short moment, she hadn't really taken in any of the sights that the lands beyond Nova Mountain were constructed of. Her expression was an unwavering straight one, as she still cursed herself, internally, for being foolish like that, resolving to smarten up.

Before she knew it, not being as affected by the uncomfortable audio void between the three, Hawkspur had posed a question to the two, along with quite the opinionative follow up. This sparked a sliver of pride within her, that she was able to loftily announce she wasn't from Silver Creek. But what one chose to do and what one was able to do were two different things, and that idea may have been overstepping the air of respect she was wanting to hold. So, abandoning patriotism, her dual-coloured gaze returned to the dasing male and she replied in a steadfast voice, "No, we're both from Nova Mountain.".

At this, she began wondering if this male, and the tribe in general, knew about the politics running rampid between certain packs. Not that Soma held a particularily great deal of contempt for Silver Creek herself, she had aquaintances form that pack after all, she took it as a positive sign that this member of the tribe, at least, felt something a little less, okay, a lot less then fondness towards the Creek members. Then again, keeping her outlook in check, he couldn't be said to have much more then a tolerance for the two Novans in his cave at this very moment.

"The tribe is pretty popular in the eyes of the Silver Creekers?", she returned a question, suddenly very interested in what the answer would be.

(short post warning, comp's about to die)

He was happy to hear the other wolf introduce himself, although he made no assumptions about what that meant. He knew the names of several alpha wolves that had had him chased out of their territories. Still, it was a good sign, in his mind, and from there Cayara was content to let Soma take the lead, not wanting to press his good fortune.

When he heard that there was little love here for Silver Creek, Cayara felt a little uneasy. He didn't really care either way what the attitude for them was here, but he didn't want there to be a fight and there might be if these wolves got involved.

Oddly enough the dynamics of the soon-to-be-known Novian's relationship shifted and it would be the female that became the more vocal of the pair. Perhaps it was his influence that created this… temporary unease that stimulated either wolf to answer whatever they thought they could answer best. But whatever the oddity that was them, Hawkspur was in fact pleased to hear that they weren't from that Silver Creek place. And as for hearing about the tensions between Nova Mountain and Silver Creek, he hadn't ever heard a whisper of it. Then again, he never kept any of the valley wolves around long enough for them to get to that part, so it was not really surprising that he was in the dark about such. Not that he'd really care, aside from a what he could gain from it in a manipulative sense.

He, however, noticed he females wandering gaze outside to the point that he even followed it to look at the Hó'nehe-htso'e starting to unfold itself at the cavern's finale. The male wondered how long it would take her to ask to go out there, given that it was evident she did and as the dark line of her lips began to manipulate the sounds of her speech, he instantly presumed this request was going to be the first thing he'd hear. Yet, Hawkspur was sorely mistaken and with a flick of his ruddy ear he dismissed his jumping-the-gun attitude and simply stated matter-of-factly (as if they both should already know!) "Yeah. They all have a crush on me."

Now, the memories of the meeting had begun to filter into his mind at the prior mention of Nova Mountain and the associations that Seot'a had brought to their attention. A surprising amount he might add. "Your leader's Sinistra, right? A black wolf?"

The charcoal wolfess took note of Cayara's silence, and as a curtain would be drawn from a previously unexamined window, she was now feeling quite inquisitive in all that Cayara may, or may not have discovered in the time between their first meeting and now. Questions along
the lines of how closely had he ventured to the Creek's territory, and even just how he was managing with other wolves, Creek'ers or otherwise, would have to wait for another day however.

If anything, she was wanting to thoroughly pick apart this Tribe wolf's brains in order to extract any and all captivating and otherwisely interesting tid bits of information, but that would be rude, wouldn't it? Considering all, Hawkspur being the first Hó'nehe member she'd met, and his observably unstable temperment, her plans veered away from putting forward an onslaut of queries (that would most likely be found as annoying by this particular male). Instead, going with whatever direction their encounter took seemed a safer course of action.

A smirk tugged up the corner of her lips, taking his egocentric retort to her question in jest.

Shortly receiving his next question, she gave a short nod, "Yes,", and furthered her answer into a reciprocation, "You guys are familiar with the packs, and such, in the rest of the Salvejes then,...". A pause was left trailing her comment, but it was short lived, "You have an alpha too...? Unfortunately a lot of, well, anything about you and your packmates is left in mystery.". Her dual-coloured gaze was slowly being called back to the mouth of the tunnel and what lay beyond it.

Cayara was beginning to get uncomfortable, uneasy, for more than one reason. The conversation was heading in a direction he didn't really want it to go, he was uncomfortable with the entire idea of two packs fighting. Aside from that, while they were being allowed to stay, it was in the tunnel, and they weren't being invited out of it, at least not yet. The only reason that worried him is because he was wondering if there was a reason for that, or if he was just wasting their time, or if he was just making sure that they were ok.

As Soma continued speaking and asking questions, he began thinking back to the past couple of weeks he'd spent in the valley, all of the times he'd had, all of the people he'd met. Before he came to the Salvajes, he'd never really had a friend, never known another wolf very well, never even had much of a conversation, except the brief meeting that often went something like 'Our land! You go away! *bite*'. The fact that two packs could live near each other and interact on a daily basis meant, to him, that it would be stupid, no matter what had happened, for them to fight. If Soma had come here to recruit these wolves or scout out their attitudes in case of recruitment, he was definitely not comfortable with that.

As he came back to reality, he decided to see about making things happen. Moving forwards just a little bit, he put a foot out of the tunnel and craned forward, sniffing all around, trying to catch the scents from anywhere he could. He was hoping that Hawkspur would catch the hint.

I think we should wrap this up now, since Hawkspur isn't in the Hó'nehe anymore and the plots ended. I've enjoyed this thread though, and we should have another in the future!

"Some of us have been acquainted along the line." Read, only when they trespassed all over our lovely territory like they owned the place and our relations with them aren't exactly the most welcoming that have existed. In fact, the Neve'heth boy had nothing but distaste for the whole lot of them. "No, we don't have an alpha." He answered almost snappishly, as if the very suggestion that their hierarchy was the same as theirs was bordering on a complete insult to him and his Tribe. "Our "Alpha" is called a Me'ko." He realised that the way his response was worded implied that he was simply correcting her use of Alpha for the word Me'ko, instead of highlighting the fact that their Me'ko was in fact missing. But then he decided it wasn't really his problem, so he couldn't have cared less how the wording was taken to be honest.

Quiet as ever Cayara was sitting, lingering in the background of their conversation and Hawkspur was quite content to ignore him whilst he did so. It was only when the flash of rising quarters blurred in his peripheral vision that the Ahtono'e whipped his creamy muzzle toward the other, realising in the flash of an instant where he thought he was going. "Hey, hey, hey!" Bounding, although it became more like squeezing in the tight space of the tunnel, past Cayara, Hawk whipped round on sturdy hocks as soon as the fresh grasses of the Hó'nehe-htso'e tickled his paw pads to face and block the opposing male's motion. "Where do you think your going?" He snapped, flattening his ears defensively. Clearly, the male's nerve had run out the second the Nova male tried to extend his welcome and Spur let it show with a low growl and the not-so-polite adage of:

"The exit is that way." Only this time he really meant it.
