For Orli. Lets get this show on the road. :D

a radiance that surpasses hope

She had come to think. Silent Moon Plateau was a thinking place, and it always would be. The silence, the escape from the world, it helped to clear her mind. Of late, she needed it. Sighing to herself, she stared out over the day that was lit on the valley and wondered what she would ever be able to do with this mess of a situation that had become her life. Kimoto and his personal conflicts with her mate, the fact that she had not seen her mate in too long, her apparent lack of duty and loyalty to her pack. It was all falling on her. Flattening her soft silver-white ears against her skull she picked her way along the ridge-line of the Plateau, always going an easy pace – running was not an activity when placed so close to danger. Anything involving gravity and a steep incline meant danger to Tiamat, she knew it too.

And yet she continued to move along the edge, as if she were drawn to flirt with the very thing that could come back and bite her. Many would have called it stupidity. In actuality she hadn’t really considered falling off of Silent Moon Plateau today, it wasn’t as if she fell off of cliffs often. That was a rarity, falling down being much more common. The ground was nice and solid here anyway, flat, smooth. No cause for tripping or falling was needed, plus this stroll, and the view of the valley below her, it helped her mind unwrap the problems that she needed to face. Her mind couldn’t stop flicking to Bronx. She needed to talk to him about this, he would have a perspective she knew she didn’t have.

Upon deciding this she drew a deep breath and whirled to go back the other direction and head toward Nova Mountain to find him. The wind kicked high and pushed dry earth from the ground and into the face of the white wolf, who was in mid spin. The rest was simple reaction and the coming of gravity. A grow rolled up from her throat as she clamped her eyes shut and took an instinctive step back, right off the edge of the cliff. She slid, bumping and rolling until she hit solid ground, which was painful but not to bad. This time she was not on her feet, she was down, and her back end slipped off the edge of the tiny ledge that had saved her, threatening to drag her over.

Pebbles, clumps of dirt, and rock slid off the edge and made too-long echo noises as they bounced to the ground so far below. Her heart climbed dramatically in her chest, pumping adrenaline into her veins, forcing her eyes to open. The slender white wolf squirmed, digging her claws into the earth, struggling to bring herself back onto the meager section of flat ground that had saved her, muscles straining and limbs shaking she dragged herself over and stood positioned delicately on the cliff edge, staring up the long unstable slope that she had just come down. Trapped, again, for the millionth time, it seemed.

Taking account of her situation she glanced down at herself, she was bruised, a few cuts bleeding around her face and in various places over her body, nothing serious though, and surprisingly enough her paw wasn’t hurt.

Silent Moon Plateau – during the day, it was a new place. The sunlight shone from the smooth, high up rock and low summits, and the dry grass leaned slightly in the wind, though the plateau hid what foliage it held from the cold weather. The weather in question was not something to be admired by Bronx, but nor was it to be hated – it was not a conscious presence, and thus he didn’t begrudge it for making the limp in his paw more noticeable than ever. It hurt – it always hurt. Nowadays it was usually a constant ache; ever since the days grew darker and Styx, she who had been his Medic and friend, had ebbed her life away. Still, he found that it was easier to ignore than sudden sharp pains, and Bronx could hold such a heavy limp with a kind of handsome elegance surprising in the injury.

Pacing the pass through Silent Moon Plateau, he glanced to the east where he recalled the scar in question exploding with pain during a rainstorm. Poet to the rescue… the youth that now held a close relationship to Bronx. There were other memories here too; none more prominent than when he had met Tiamat for the first time. He had seen her as an endearing and angelic beauty right from the off; but it had moved no feelings in him. It took more than first impressions to capture a heart that had never been used, but capture it she had; a feat that had lasted stains, time, toils and separation.

Bronx’s rangy stride slowed slightly as he heard an echo in the distance; it sounded like a landslide. He was moving himself in that direction anyway, but soon enough he could sense someone up ahead; perhaps a wolf had fallen from the plateau? A little sadistically, he considered just ignoring it, but then responsibility overtook, and the dark Præfectus soon had his calm, orange-hazel gaze set on a pile of rubble…

“Tia, for God’s sake…” murmured his deep voice as his heart caught in his powerful chest and he realised who the slender figure trapped beneath debris was. He didn’t hesitate. He was soon at her side, dark muzzle and large paws moving to free her.

Ow. I just inhaled pepper through my nose. D:

a radiance that surpasses hope

Blinking in surprise at her rescuer, though she supposed it was just as likely that it could have been anyone, Tiamat peered up at her mate – ears pressed forward with a worried expression as he came sliding, much more gracefully than she, down the cliff-side to her rescue. A little bit of a sigh, exhaustion and shame showing openly on her features, she looked to him and murmured softly. "I’m sorry. I never mean to end up like this, but it happens so much." There was something beyond her words that sang in her voice, she wasn’t just talking about this. Dipping her muzzle low she then reached up and touched him for the reassurance of having him beside her. Things were going to be alright, they just had to get it all worked out. He’d help, she knew he would.

Having decided that she gave a brief glance around, their problem now was getting out. The slope he had come down, and her previously to him, was a sharp one and she wasn’t sure that either of them would be able to scramble back up again. A glance over her shoulder confirmed how hard and long the drop to solid earth would be. Glancing to Bronx she murmured softly. "Do you know how we can get out?" She couldn’t imagine that her logical mate would do anything rash. This was Bronx, here before her, and she knew that he wouldn’t just come sliding down a cliff to save her without having some sort of a reasonable plan to get them out. She sized up the cliff again, thinking the way out was probably up, and that it would most likely be their best bet.

As Tiamat made her apologies, Bronx’s muzzle moved swiftly over her body, looking for an injuries. But there was no whimper in her throat or pain in her voice, so it seemed that she wasn’t injured beyond being able to hold back any howls of discomfort. Furthermore, there were no dangerous wounds on her body (though there were a few scars), and he knew that if she was really in a great deal of pain, she wouldn’t hide behind it. At her… very logical question, Bronx glanced briefly around them, summing up the situation.

Bronx had moved down that slope just as he would have walked along a nice little path. He was so used to mountain terrain, that all of it was really the same to him. Thus, when he had moved down the slope, knowing that there was a drop ahead, but not knowing who was trapped on the ridge, it had been a very subconscious movement. It seemed that he was a 100% mountain wolf now.

“Well,” he began, glancing down at the drop. “The way down doesn’t look too bad.” His eyes moved back to the female. Bronx could make it easily; he had large, apt paws and the drop wasn’t a vertical drop anyway; it almost had steps. The way up would be next to impossible; Tiamat had fallen all the way down and it was covered in scree; their chances of scrambling up there were very poor. The distance was much shorter down than up… but that was a logic applied only to his own height and aptitude…

a radiance that surpasses hope

Tiamat peered nervously down the cliff-side, looking to her mate with apprehension written on her face. It looked a sharp drop to her, un-navigable but she did trust his judgement. Giving a nod, and a slight swallow, she touched her nose to his briefly murmuring. "Well, I trust you on it, then. You’d think from all my falls I would gain some sort of expert knowledge of how to fix these sorts of problems but I have not." Frustration rang in her voice, always with her emotions on high. Glaring down at the ground, an uneven unusual sort of anger flooding from her, she held her stance for a few moments, trying to cool off her annoyance at her complete lack of luck and her anger at just about everything but Bronx.

Finally she managed to pull her temper under control, it wasn’t the time or the place and she knew that. Shaking her head a little bit she queried. "Do you want to go first or would you like me to?" The options both had their advantages and disadvantages. If he went first he could show her how to do it, show her the way, but if he went first and she followed and fell there was a fantastic chance of them both going down, possibly even to her deaths – and that was one thing that she absolutely could not handle being responsible for, causing him any pain or injury – let alone the loss of his life.

Bronx answered her latter question by moving fully to his paws, but he soon moved his dark muzzle down to smooth briefly the fur at her neck, running a rough tongue gently over her muzzle before drawing back again. Either of the two wolves, when together, could turn a pile of rubble and dust and a trapped, dangerous situation into a romantic scene. For despite his concern for her regarding not only her fall but the drop up ahead, there was one emotion that conquered any and all of the others – that being a deeply passionate and deeply unconditional love.

He moved to the edge of the cliff and his gaze hovered professionally over the slope. Adjusting his paws until they were right over the edge, pressed up against the rocky wall that was not vertical, but still quite sharp, he was now just above the “drop” that looked the safest. Without further hesitation, he moved smoothly down the slope and then leapt, as a cat would from the top of a tree, landing with equally feline physicality and drawing himself back up again immediately.

Bronx looked up at Tiamat, who was still at the top of the cliff. The drop looked so much shorter from down here, but at the moment, “down here” was not the perspective that mattered.

a radiance that surpasses hope

Bronx was made up of so little words, sometimes she was surprised by her lover when he spoke so much to her with so little coming from him vocally. Returning his gesture with affection she felt her weary frayed nerves ease slightly at his touch, she was always glad to have him near. He understood so well, it seemed. Any situation placed between them was conquerable, they made a team unbeatable. As he slipped from her side she watched his example, dark eyes intent on his paws and motions as he crept down the sharp hill slowly and then leapt the last couple of feet to safety. He looked so far away from her now that he had gone.

Tiamat was not without her courage, though, and she edged out to the path that he had taken, hunkering her body lower to the ground to keep gravity’s pull off of her. The female shuffled, over cautions, toward the jumping point. She had absolutely no desire to go sliding the rest of the way down to tumble off the edge and hit the ground in any way but feet first. A few times her paws felt as if they might slip out form beneath her weight, but she managed to get to the edge in due time, with her ears pressed flat against her head, displaying just how nervous she was, she scooted forward a smidgen before hopping off the edge of the cliff.

It was not fluid, graceful, or feline in any way. She hit the ground with an unpleasant thud and stumbled a little bit, taking several moments to recover her balance. Still, she had managed to pull the stunt off unharmed. Staring over her shoulder up at the cliff in absolute amazement that she had made it down without giving herself killed she then turned her face back toward Bronx, now taking the time to try and blink the dust from her eyes. They were stinging by now, demanding that she pay attention to them.

There was a first time for everything. So here was Bronx, a fully-grown adult with perhaps the highest sense of dignity in half the hemisphere, with his heart beating against his chest… nervously. He was nervous. Logically (which was usually the only way when it came to the dark Novan), Bronx knew that Tiamat had grace and physical skill, despite her apparent clumsiness, and she was young and fit too, so she would make it, even if it was not easy for her. But there was an irrational fear that her limbs would smash beneath her and she’d be lost.

He watched carefully. Very carefully. She jumped… and landed. Bronx felt as if he had been holding his breath. Immediately, the rangy male moved over to his lover and lowered his head to lick the dust from her face. “Are you hurt?” he whispered huskily, concern heavy in his voice.

His question rattled her, yeah – she was hurt, but not in the way he was asking. She felt her heart drop and nodded her head a little, whispering back to him in soft low tones. "No more than usual, I don’t think." There was no other information to be offered, and she could hear the concern in his voice. It made her heart twist oddly, to hear that worry there, that she had put him through this: and now she was going to put an even bigger weight on his shoulders. Fighting back what she could not name, something that was more emotion than she could reasonably handle, she flattened her ears to her skull.

"I have a problem, Bronx." She told him, the words practically choking her as she said them. "I’m in trouble." That much was true, and she had no idea how much trouble she was in, or if she’d ever be out of it, or even how to begin getting out of trouble. Because on this topic she wouldn’t be changing her stance, no matter what she was instructed to do. It didn’t matter who told her to do it, either. She loved him and she wasn’t giving him up. "I got into an argument with one of my leaders, I told him off." A hush fell over her, as she considered the repercussions of her actions.

Bronx sat down very close to her, powerful back hunched quite considerably so he could continue licking her face, neck and head softly, until her fur was white and sleek and his tongue rather dusty. He drew back again as he could feel that she was troubled… I have a problem, Bronx.

The Delta moved a step back so that he could look at her as one would look at another in conversation, rather than in the intimate entanglement of a rather inseparable romantic relationship, and gazed at her calmly. As Tiamat explained the problem, he nodded very slightly to show that he understood, remaining as composed as a statue and not matching her clearly hurt and troubled frame of mind. “What was it about?” he queried softly, knowing that if a subordinate were to “tell him off”, they’d leave with one less ear, but this was because he would have found them patronising and out-of-place. Tiamat was not the patronising type; he knew that she had a valid reason.

Tiamat shook her head, taking in Bronx’s stance. She wished she could be so calm, that she had some of his qualities to save face. "You. It was about you." A scowl blackened her features as she recalled the event. "Kimoto, he told me I couldn’t see you anymore. He pulled rank on me, to command me, to stop me from being with you." A little angry shudder raced down her spine and her eyes grew sharp and unkind at the thoughts that it brought to mind. "At first he posed that I have been disloyal to my pack, that I don’t do my job, that I’m.. Unreliable. And then he said crazy things, unreasonable things, about you." She shook her head again, distaste on her features, as if something bad were in her mouth.

"And I told him so. I told him that he was wrong, and I walked away." She wished that she could have handled the entire thing better than she had, but she had no idea how that would even be possible. Angry childish tears pressed at the corners of her eyes and she turned her face to her mate, a mixture of pain and confusion there as she stared at him, unable to reason some sort of answer to this problem that they now had on their hands – a problem that she had created them. "He is a leader, and he is the mate of my alpha, and the consequences are going to be..." She couldn’t even find a word, she knew full well that Bronx understood it though.

Although Bronx was far from the type to yearn for attention, he was noticing that all physical affection going on here was by himself. So he assumed that Tiamat wanted words and not physical feelings here, and restrained himself from comforting her even as tears filled her dark blue eyes. He simply listened, as deserved.

Tiamat was certainly worked up, and no emotion showed on Bronx’s face, showing that it was not something he believed to be taken seriously. That was… Kimoto was not someone to be taken seriously. Speaking of which, there were too related surprises – Kimoto was a leader. And…

He is the mate of my alpha.

Fucking hell. His opinion of Sphinx had been high and upon learning of this news, it had hit rock bottom (besides, wasn’t Kimoto gay?).

... On second thoughts, Tiamat had not said which Alpha. So Kimoto was mated to GoldenShadow...? It all made sense now!

“You did the right thing,” he said first off, “If Sphinx has any sense, she’ll see that. Then again, if she had any sense she wouldn’t have mated a mentally retarded homosexual.” He added this bit almost to himself, “speaking of which, you should keep that in mind – Kimoto has no idea what he’s talking about. He has big problems. He and me clashed several times and, being the child he is, he’s just throwing his weight around and at all things involving me.” He shrugged briefly. “Don’t worry about it, Tia. Honestly; you won’t be in trouble and you shouldn’t let that idiot get to you.”

a radiance that surpasses hope

Tiamat raised her eye brows at Bronx’s verbal abuse of her pack mate, while Kimoto had offended her, had managed to make her feel as if she wasn’t welcome in her home, he was still her pack mate. Tiamat wouldn’t reprimand Bronx for it, her opinion of Kimoto had lowered seriously but it was not as if such things needed to be said about him. She had expected more of her calm and logical mate than to hear him bring out childish name calling. That had seemed more Kimoto’s style of attack, but she didn’t say a word of it. Instead she simply shook her head a little bit and touched her muzzle to his softly, dark eyes sorrowful as she considered the options.

"I’m not sure, Bronx. I’ve been in trouble before... and while Sphinx is likely to agree that it is unreasonable that I do not see you anymore she won’t take it well, that I’ve been disrespectful and over-extended my power having gone so far as to tell a superior what I will and will not do, against what he had told me." Curling her tail around her paws she kept her head ducked down beneath his chin, her face staring off toward nothing. She sat still, thinking and breathing as she sat beside him, the curve of her shoulder pressed to his chest, the top of her head barely brushing the area beneath his chin and throat as she considered all their options, all her options.

"Sometimes, I don’t even want to go home." There was an echo of sorrow in her voice, as she recalled the comfort in which she had lived with this pack, and for so long it had felt like home to her and now it was almost dreaded every time she set foot on the lands, as if it might all come crumbling down around her ears at any point in time. All it would take was a soft breath, and her entire life could just fall apart. Just like that, just because of a silly disagreement between to males.

It was true that Bronx’s verbal abuse may have been unexpected from… well, those who didn’t expect it, but it had hardly been “abuse”. The words “child” and “idiot” were just down-putting words for Tiamat’s sake; words that replaced “Kimoto”, and as for “mentally retarded homosexual”… well, that was fact, wasn’t it? He was GoldenShadow’s mate after all, and Bronx had known right from the beginning that Kimoto had a brain-related disability. He saw the surprise in Tiamat’s blue gaze, but it was not as if he was spitting and tantruming; he was going for dark insults in his usual composed manner.

If Tiamat was mentally taking Kimoto’s side over Bronx, then… that was surprising.

Sometimes, I don’t even want to go home. That was the next surprise to any onlooker: Bronx did not latch onto the fact that she didn’t have to go home. Because Bronx was logical; Tiamat did have to go home. It was her pack. So he continued to gently berate the idiot that the pale female might not have called an idiot. “No leader can tell you who you can and cannot see on mutual lands. You've done nothing wrong and have nothing to fear.” As a leader himself, Bronx knew the rules.

a radiance that surpasses hope

An unhappy little face creased her muzzle and she looked up to his mate, she understood his wisdom. She knew that no correct or right reprimand could be given to keep her from meeting who ever the hell she pleased on mutual lands, but that had not stopped Kimoto. And it didn’t mean that her life wouldn’t be hell because she was going to go against the will of a leader. Now, at this point, the slender little wolf believed firmly that the male was capable of that sort of action, that he would make her life miserable to inflict his will upon her. Hell, he already had done that – hadn’t he? Here she was, having this unwanted conversation with the one she loved more than anything, and she couldn’t do a damn thing.

"True, no one will ever stop me from seeing you – but that doesn’t mean that he won’t try to stop me, that he won’t keep trying. Its obvious that he has no right, we all know it, but it hasn’t stopped him from doing it. The conflict will just grow, it’ll just keep growing." Looking up to him she frowned to herself, feeling heartache at her lack of correct answers to this. "Bronx, I don’t know how to fix this one. I’m not giving you up. I’m not. It won’t happen." The slender little wolf gritted her teeth, determination coming through her expression, that stubborn piece of her standing furiously within her. "No one has the right to tell me who I can love." There was a growl in her voice, this time.

As Tiamat expressed her logical and emotional concerns, Bronx’s gaze wandered thoughtfully. Any onlooker could see in his eyes nothing but a calm and dignified emotionlessness; a rather brooding state of mind behind his fiery gaze, but that was about it. But if Tia were to look, she would be able to see emotion in there: love, of course, and genuine care. Not to mention a state of serious concern regarding the situation.

At Tiamat’s insistence that no-one – leader or not – could take what she felt for Bronx away from her, his eyes moved back to her automatically. “Tia,” he murmured in reply, seriousness in his voice, “a few weeks ago my sister, Allure, was attacked by one of your own; a black wolf with red eyes. Sinistra is planning some sort of climax between our packs… the tensions have never been greater. Through taking unjust advantage of his authority, Kimoto has made our relationship even more dangerous than it was to begin with. I… do not want to see you less,” he ran his muzzle fiercely over her neck and held her there. Because by that he meant… we’re going to have to see each other less. Much less.

a radiance that surpasses hope

A black wolf with red eyes. Wide eyed she jerked back to stare up at him, realization struck her, her mind reeled. She knew him, she knew that black wolf with red eyes. Her heart skipped madly in her chest as the facts fell into her mind, Allure had been attacked? "Is she okay?" Worry accented her every word. The slender little white wolf’s face crumpled. Her soft form twisted as she turned to pace, unable to even think of that this was going to do. How bad this was going to be. "I know this wolf, this wolf you speak of." She did know him, her face drew into a mask of anger. She hadn’t liked the male the first time she had met him, he was all snarls and dominance, he had reminded her of Danflower – actually. Blue eyes sharp she shifted her gaze over the ground, trying to keep her mind up with this racing information.

Turning her face back toward her mate she expressed pain and whispered. "What will we do, if we go to war?" Her heart cracked in her chest, uncomfortable, painful - she would never be able to fight against Bronx, never would she have the desire to go against Nova Mountain because they were his, his kind. She couldn’t imagine war with any of them, not even Danflower – whom she despised greatly. Shaking her head in dismay she murmured. "I don’t want to be away from you, separated from you, either." Her nose turned toward his to touch there, gently, briefly. Were there no reasonable answers anymore?

“She’s fine,” Bronx confirmed smoothly after Tiamat expressed concern for his sister who, he had learnt, she had finally met. The young female’s concern, however, did not catch his eye as much as her reaction to Mister Red-Eyes. All he did was nod slightly; it did not surprise him that she knew him. For one, it made sense seeing as they were in the same pack and Tiamat appeared to be an active pack member, with her co-rank on form there too, of course. For another, it appeared that Mister Red-Eyes sure did get around. But Bronx wasn’t here to gather information; that devil would just have to wallow in his own ego for a while.

At talk of war, the dark Præfectus once more had an automatic answer. “I don’t believe that either side would fight,” he drawled confidently, “I think it’d be more of a political war, but either way it’s serious.” Bronx sighed slightly, “I don’t think there’s anything we can do – this is a dictator’s conflict. We’ll have to be more secretive, the two of us, but other than that it’ll be the same as always. Each of our meetings ending with you going back to Silver Creek; and me to Nova Mountain…”

And that was when it hit him.

a radiance that surpasses hope

Allure was fine, Tiamat breathed a sigh of relief having heard that. That much was good, while a good deal of her concern was for the personal well being of the female, another small political part of her was worried about the repercussions of that would have happened if Allure were to be seriously hurt. The attack was bad enough, but death, or life-long injury could do catastrophic damage to the entire valley, not just to Allure. Could nothing go right? With her heart doing odd skipping beats in her chest she whispered. "He was an unpleasant strange creature, but I never imagined that he would be.. dangerous." Tiamat said softly, looking up to Bronx. There was guilt within her, she should have known, she should have known there was something wrong with the strange black wolf. The situation needed to be rectified, she needed to tell Sphinx, they needed to get rid of this demon-thing that had fallen upon them.

At his words she turned her attentive attention back to him, all eyes and ears as she took in what her mate had to say. If they were going to make it through this they needed to get together on it, that they needed to stay joined and now allow this conflict to come between them. Her heart ached sorely and she touched her nose to his softly and whispered. "More secrets, more.. hiding." With her heart in her throat she leaned into her mate, pressing her slight weight to his form before whispering. "I wish I could go home, with you." For once in her life, she didn’t want to wish that he could come with her. She didn’t want to go back to Silver Creek anymore, nothing there felt like the safety it had once. He was the only constant.

It was an absurd idea, surely. Every bone in the sinuous male’s body was logical to the core. Like all wolves he was effected by emotion, but usually to a very small extent; like in the case of Kimoto, who he didn’t seem to care about in any way. Yet here he was apparently letting emotion rule his logic, for the first time in his life – Tiamat could move to Nova Mountain. She had said Sometimes, I don’t even want to go home. All she had to do was change her home, surely. She wouldn’t have to deal with the conflict at all; she could just walk away from it, dignified and at a winner’s stance.

This was logic… wasn’t it?

At Tiamat’s embrace and murmured wish, he just sat there in a thoughtful silence. Everything he wanted was right here – because he only wanted one thing. Tiamat Seabreeze. At the same time, the two of them had spent the last few months in a relationship apart because they were being selfless; they belonged to their packs and had so many others to account for; not just themselves. In a moment of selfishness, could they go home together? To Nova Mountain, where Tiamat now had less problems than Silver Creek?

Logic… emotion… where the hell was he? But before he knew it, Bronx was voicing his thoughts; softly, in a deep whisper, close to the ear of his lover. “You know I live to make your wishes come true... I’ve not done very well so far, have I. Perhaps this can be an exception.” He drew back slightly, gazing down at one of her deep blue eyes to the other, “you could walk away from Silver Creek, Tiamat. Come home with me.”

a radiance that surpasses hope

The soft comforting flow of his words allowed her to close her eyes, banishing fear, and it was a short lived peace. His proposal of what might be done jerked her free of that warm dark place. Turning her face up toward him, her heart flying crazily in her chest she studied his handsome serious face. Closing her eyes once more she then opened them again to the reality of him, of his invitation. The answer was there – in her eyes, yes, she would go with him. The answer was yes and she didn’t have to say it, and every part of her was was wanting it to be that easy – so easy, just to go home with him. Could she really start over again, just like that? A new life, with him, in a new place?

No, she couldn’t start over. But she could change, and build. And all of her doubts were pushed aside as she spoke the words that saved her and hurt her. "Yes. I’ll come home with you." She told him, and she would, and that was all it would ever take. Her heart broke sadly at the thought of parting with Silver Creek. But Silver Creek was just a place, not a person, it was not her life, it was just a location. A somewhere in the valley, and certainly she could have all her friends, all of her.. once family be close to her – still. If she went, she could still love them, couldn’t she? Of course she could.

"I’ll go home with you." She repeated before glancing back toward the looming mountain, the one that was big enough to blot out the sky. "To Nova Mountain." A deep breath, but it wouldn’t be that easy. For her, maybe, the choice was the least complicated part. What she had to do next, what he had to do, those were the things that were going to be the most difficult. "But before I come home, I have to talk to Sphinx and Den. I owe them this. She has been my alpha and has taken me in, and he has been my friend and alpha." She didn’t think he needed the explanation, but she gave it anyway. "What do you think Sinistra will say?" That could be a problem, if Sinistra said no – well, then it was a no, no matter what they desired.

On Bronx’s side, there was utter silence as the word “yes” floated smoothly from the angel’s maw. An otherwise unused heart that usually beat simultaneously with that of Tiamat, felt as if it had stopped entirely, the silence was so keen… perhaps he had been expecting her to say yes. Perhaps that was why Bronx had moved right into the question without pausing too long for thought. He simply looked at her, composed apart from the sheer emotion that lit up his eyes; eyes made only for her. Eyes that had looked at many, but only after meeting Tiamat did they truly see.

I can’t believe this just didn’t seem an appropriate thing for the male to say, so he settled on his simple look, that said more than words ever could.

“I’ll talk to Sinistra. He’ll say yes.” In the end. If Bronx put his mind to it, he could get very far. But now that Tiamat was concerned, he could get to infinity.

We own. Yep.

a radiance that surpasses hope

His words, that affirmation, was all that she needed. She trusted him completely and left her fate to him, smiling up toward her mate with familiar similar emotions flickering back at him, mirroring his own expression she touched her muzzle to his briefly, lovingly, eyes darkening with her feelings for him. For the first time in weeks she was at peace with herself, there was a resounding calm written on her face. Reaching up tenderly she nuzzled him, having to press up onto her very tip toes to reach his face well when he was standing at full height. Leaning forth she pressed her muzzle to his ear and murmured. "I’ll see you when I get home."

And having done that she gave him one last nudge before turning to face Silver Creek, picking up her feet she went toward the place she had lived in for so long: it wasn’t home anymore though, and she wasn’t going to visit her alphas, now they were neighbors, and friends. She walked off easily, to do something that she knew would be hard and could not help but facing. The world would be bright again, it all just needed a little bit of work. Her heart was not heavy, and she did not need to glance back at Bronx. He would be there, on the mountain, when she came home.
