SILENCE IS NOT THE WAY

Please? :)

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT

Quiet choked him, weighing down relentlessly to cut off words at their roots, strangling his call before it ever came to be. Lemon should not be there, he knew, but he had to know why they wanted his friend Chogan. He needed to speak with one of these tribe wolves desperately, and would have much preferred to communicate with them on peaceful terms except that he did not expect it to go that way. The blonde didn’t think of this group as a bunch of savages, and wouldn’t unless they proved to be. He’d never seen one, heard one or touched one for that matter, but they were causing quite a stir. His new life at Strawberry Fields had been peaceful; he could escape the Nova Mountain/Silver Creek conflict there. That was what he thought, anyway, until intruders stormed them and stole away the two princes.

A sigh escaped him, ruining the quiet. He had stopped at the borders, or where he thought them to be, more or less where the Hó’nehe scent began to strengthen beyond the common faint odors of wandering folk. He sat patiently, afraid to call because he did not know if it violated some custom they had. Generally speaking, they were all wolves, but it was best to err on the side of caution when it came to cultural boundaries. That, and myths, stories and blatant untruths about this tribe circulated en mass, going about their work, creating distrust and harmful rumors. He had better sense, of course, and tried to look at everything objectively. He hadn’t even wanted to believe that they had attempted to steal Chogan! As difficult as it was, even poor Lemon couldn’t overlook such a stark offense, as much as he would have liked to give these people the benefit of the doubt.

They had agreed to meet at the borders of the Ho'nehe tribe, and to her amazement, there he was. Lemon, her cousin through blood from Green and Rannoch, a yellow boy with yellow eyes. Fawn smiled softly and nodded, heading toward his back through the tunnel. She had only been through the tunnel once before and had been met with no resistance. In fact, she hadn't seen anyone on that trip into the strange lands, and so she had labeled it as a dead area. But then the scent of the tribe wolves had begun to infiltrate the Salvajes and Fawn knew that the area she had explore had not been abandoned.

Finding herself coming to a stop next to Lemon, Fawn's bright blue eyes turned to his pretty yellow ones and she grinned. "Hello Lemon," she cihmed softly, lifting her right foot off the ground to allow it some rest. She had broken it (or thought she had) while playing with Leviathan and it had been sore ever since, but she was giving it as much rest as it needed. She'd go talk to someone about it later, when she knew exactly how much it was really hurt. "I'm surprised we haven't been mauled yet." She was trying to lighten the mood, but somehow her efforts were fruitless.

I'm not sure whether Fawn will come out of hiding in our other thread, so I'll just assume that if she did, he's being his pig-arrogant self toward her. x)

It didn't appear strange to him that the very essence of the Hó'nehe-htso'e, with its slate walls of various mountain rising up on each of its sides, had begun to grate on the very sensitive nerves of Hawkspur. He'd tired of this place long ago it seemed and it only grew worse with the fact that they knew where their leader was. But like a challenging puzzle where one could see the prize so tantalisingly close they couldn't get to him. Sadly, the Fielders where a pack and they were only five, considering a few cowards — including his usually mightier-than-now sister! — had left to sample other fruits that he'd been chastised for doing before! At least, when he had left the Ancestral Hó’nehe Packlands the Tribe hadn't even come close to discovering where the Me'ko might be, let alone who he or she was, at the time. So that obviously made him better than them.

But even as the boy stalked across the lands that where so often invaded, the filtering of voices through the air would cause the plush of his ears to spring forward and his head to align with the sky with distinct curiosity. The sample of the breeze sucked in through his duo nares held that noticeable and quite frankly, sickly sweet stench of Strawberries and already a growl leapt to the forefront of his throat. He stalked over, rising his tail above the saddle-arch of his back and sliding his features into his trademark distasteful look before stopping before them, eyes narrowed penetratingly. "Because, believe it or not, I have better things to do with my life than chase around after you bunch of morons."

With that said he flicked his tail and looked to the both of them – a male and female – before switching his attention to the blonde thing, his voice thick with growling ice. "Unless you've brought the kid with a pretty little bow around his neck and a heartfelt message of sentimental crap, I strongly suggest you leave Berry-boy." And, er, his gaze flicked toward the strangely marked female before he added with a bunching of creamy flecked brows, "And girl."

SILENCE IS NOT THE WAY

LEMON EXPLODED! O_O

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT

Laughter was on the verge of making a dangerous escape. The way this male came upon them, strutting his stuff like a rude, featherheaded idiot was incredible. Lemon was never quick to pass judgement, but then again, never in his life had he been addressed more disrespectfully. Name calling? It felt like the equivalent of canine grade school all over again. And oh the way this petulant brat had stumbled! It completely smashed what little veritability his insult might have possessed… in an alternate dimension where wisecracks straight from the mouths of sniveling whelps were considered the highest of insults. A weary sigh fled his chest, his nervousness gone, replaced with justified irateness and a sudden sore spot to pick himself up and leave. If Chogan had not been at stake in this game, the mottled tribe wolf would have been a clear waste of breath.

“Sir, we’ve not come here to fight with you. I have not crossed your borders, desecrated your land or spat in your face. No insult has been made to your pride, and your mother would be sick with you for being so rude to someone who initially came with an optimistic attitude, meaning no harm to you or your tribe.” His tone was clearly affronted. The anger practically boiled out from beneath his cool expression.

“If you could see, you might have the sense to understand that taking someone from their home – rightful leader or not – is wrong. You don’t steal people. If you had any grain of orderly common sense, you might have spoken to Chogan or Taigi civilly. Instead you forced them to stay in some botched attempt at abduction and then came stomping all over our territory, outraged that they had come back to us of their own free will! We are not keeping them hostage. In your arrogance and ignorance, you’ve incited the wrath of an entire pack whose number more than doubles yours.” Lemon sucked in a deep gulp of soothing fresh air, his rage far from burned out. “If Chogan had wanted to come, he would be here now. And you, sir, have been less than I expected. For someone representing your tribe, you’ve done a splendid job of enforcing our view of you.”

She had to admit that Hawkspur, while pretending to be high and mighty, was actually quite the nutcase. But she was sure that it was because he felt confined, away from his "rightful leader" and stuck in the tribe of wolves who were so obviously driving him crazy. Fawn made every attempt not to giggle at his words and simply nodded, taking it all in stride. She remembered how he had acted back in the Fields, calling the Strawberries all morons and demonic beings for keeping their Chogan all coped up. Well, he hadn't really called them demonic, but he might as well have.

She allowed Lemon to speak, merely standing by his side appearing calm and very collected. Even though her let still hurt, she was willing to endure the pain to simply show Hawkspur that she wasn't about to give up and leave, or hand Chogan over. Chogan had the right to choose where he wanted to be, whether the tribe wolves liked it or not. Her dazzlingly bright optics were trained upon Hawkspur, her ears split between Lemon and the tribal being. What was going to happen now?

Jess being on Christmas break = less delays for this thread! :D

In a short amount of time Hawkspur would learn quickly that this wolf and his oddly patterned companion weren't going to leave any time soon and that became a fact the second blondie opened his trap. Off he went on a self-possessed trip of verbalising things that the Enano'eve couldn't have cared less about if he tried and the truly bored expression and various pinpointing sighs where enough to bring that to anyone's attention. But as the burning torrent of… well, crap began to extinguish from the Berry's eager tongue, Hawkspur exaggeratedly turned his attention to the female and arched his brows, cockily inquiring whether she had anything to add to that flood. Apparently not, as the lines of her lips never parted and for that he was, well, quite glad.

So, he turned back to Lemon clearly bemused and simply said, "Have you quite finished then?" He flicked his tail in that same bemused fashion and looked down at Lemon from the height of his nose, still with his eyebrows raised to give him a clearly mocking expression. "I'm very glad that "I've enforced your view of me"." The latter portion articulated in a mocking tone… how immature, but then that was Hawkspur down to a tee wasn't it? "Truth is, I couldn't give a tiny rat's ass what you and your pack think of me or anything else for that matter."

True, enough. And he couldn't even being to see where this lad got off in telling him all of this. "As for Chogan and Taigi, they have been spoken to civilly. So, get your facts straight before you start shooting your mouth off, Berry. But they don't get to have a nice choice between flowers and candy hearts because quite frankly they're heirs to the head of this Tribe and that kind of thing just won't go away. Evidently." Now, the glimmer of his hackles raised between the arch of his shoulder blades, his eyes narrowed visibly and a growl crept into the very timbre of his voice. "Thankfully though, you have that oh-so-amazing luxury. So take your mute princess here and do as I said before: sod the hell off. Because I'm not interested in you."

SILENCE IS NOT THE WAY

No worries! <3

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT

Lemon sighed, a weary and patronized breath of oxygen being released so quickly his lungs barely had enough time to claim the life giving air. This was going nowhere, and he had only succeeded in making the Tribe brat irritated. Of course, he’d already been irritated with them before he could utter a single word, which irked the blonde male all the more. “No, I’m not finished,” he stated plainly. It was time for Lemon to compose himself. If he had thought it might’ve helped, he would have forced a half-meant apology from his lips, but something told him that even real sentiment wouldn’t bring this one to his better senses, if he had any. With all of his inner will, he swallowed his anger, forcing it to be irrelevant and putting away the petty squabble which the petulant child in him wanted to drag out. “I don’t know what you consider being civil. Truly though, is a forced leader going to be any good to you?”

The Mango was trying desperately to reach out to the mottled brute’s logic and though he feared the same results his aggression had wrought, it was worth attempting. “Would you expect either of them to make successful, happy leaders? You might get them here, and you might try to make them stay, but how would you make them succumb to your will or your ways? Torture? Threats? Coercion? And what will that do? Nothing. If you make them lead, they will fail you intentionally. It is a choice, whether you know it or not. What of their free will, or do you not give a rat’s ass about your prized leader’s wishes? If the led you off a cliff, would you follow? It seems that you haven’t been thinking this through,” he said, voice flat. He had already grown tired of this conversation. The other’s flagrant display of aggression was pitiful, and he didn’t react in the least. If this reasoning didn’t make any headway, then perhaps all hope was lost.

When Hawkspur turned to her for assurance, Fawn's brows raised slightly in tune with a tiny, mocking grin set on her lips. There was amusement in her body language, but her mind took this all very seriously. He called her a mute princess - well, at least someone believed in her blood on royalty. She chose not to acknowledge his mean-spirited jest and simply stated what her mind told her, after Lemon had taken some of the words from her mouth. "Do you really want a leader who doent care for you, even hates you? I know I wouldn't want to be near them if they dispised my very existance." Not to say that either Chogan or Taigi dispised the tribe wolves, but it was somewhere in the ballpark of their emotions.

There was something definitely weird about this entire situation. What made the tribe wolves believe that they were their leaders, when in fact they didn't even want anything to do with them? She knew it had to do with blood, and the childrens' mother, but so? If they didn't want to go, why would the wolves make them? "A respectable leader is one who elects to become one, not one who is forced, threatened, or coerced. Chogan will be a poor leader if you force him to it." And it was the truth. There was nothing worse in the world than a leader who didn't want to be there.
