OOC - Oui, I am feeling randomsies!

The afternoon was, of course, cold - but Taigi didn't care a bit. The snow was compacted under his paws and nothing was falling from the sky. It was getting dark already, and Taigi just hadn't run enough today. Miles and miles would never be enough at the moment, now that the adolescent was able to run. Yes, his paw was healing well thanks to Indris - and his heart was healing even better thanks to all the support and love his family had given him. Yes, his family. Apart from Chogan, none of them were blood - but as good as. What did blood matter when one could grow so close to you they could be a relative?

There was still love. There was still hate. There was still betrayal. All that was different was a fact and a metaphorical tag hanging off his left ear that said: Saqui-Citlali. Such a small, insignificant thing that had caused him all the blinding pain and silencing grief these past months, but it was over now, mother nature had been kind enough to let him grow in more ways than one. Physically he towered and was building up his muscle tissue every day with what he loved best - to run. Mentally, he had moved on, and every second was another shuffle, another timid step into the light of his future; steps that were becoming more confident every day.

The wind was non-existant and the birds were making the most of blizzardless flight, the chirping could be heard from a mile away, and Taigi was following it - for running must have a purpose. He had run in circles for way to long, he must always be moving forward with not one step back, unless it was to fix a mistake of pick up from where he had left off. Yet, his carefree movements, as always, did not reflect his thoughts; for they lie upon the Ho'nehe matter. The Tribe seemed to want them both as heirs for their mother's legacy. As far as I'm concerrned, my mother's legacy is right here inside of me, and Chogan - resting beside Midas in heaven above Gold Moon Forest. Not with them. They know nothing.

He thought aloud as he stood now, looking up into the dusk and the flitting birds, chest heaving. This was where exhilaration ended and thought began for the evening.

He strolled around the fields, no wait scratch that, he strutted around the fields. He had everything he needed now. Somewhere safe and welcoming to sleep, a mate and family. And all we in the same place, the fields. It wouldn't suprise him in the slightest if he never left them again! A small voice broke his thoughts. He pricked up his ears and listened intently, twisting them in the voices direction. "As far as I'm concerrned, my mother's legacy is right here inside of me, and Chogan - resting beside Midas in heaven above Gold Moon Forest. Not with them. They know nothing. " Was someone in an argument? Or maybe it was just a debate. He moved towards the voice and was very much suprised when he saw one wolf, standing and watching the birds in the sky.

At first he was confused. Was it him who'd spoken or was there someone else around? A quick sniff of the air told him that this yearling was the only wolf around. He cautiously approached the male and asked, "Excuse me but, who's them? And what have they done?" Smoke relaxed his posture to show he wasn't a thread and just genuinely interested in what the male had to say. "I'm Smoke by the way." He smiled, hoping that he'd find out who the other guy was.

SILENCE IS NOT THE WAY

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT

The day had been as nice as a winter afternoon in the Salvajes could be. It was cold, crisp and bracing. The lanky figure had emerged from the den across the way from Green’s own abode that morning in search of food, water and Smoke, who was already out and about. The day had taken its sweet time in transisting the hours, but it was all fine and well. The concept of time and its fleeting nature never burrowed beneath his skin as it did to some others who, unfortunately, chose to dwell on life’s end instead of living in the now. He would never be like that, afraid of death or time slipping away. “There’s never enough, and it always goes too slow,†he pointed out to himself aloud. A familiar, comforting voice snatched his thoughts and the breath from his lungs. He had found the last thing on his to-do list, he realized with new vigor.

With an eager smile, he crunched through the snow, leaving deep paw prints in the wake of fluttering noise. When the two came into view, he recognized both, one from being a key player in his life, and the other from a scent from the past. He’d never seen his face but he knew his name and his sharp nose could recognize the kinship of blood; it was Taigi, Chogan’s brother. They were the first princes of Gold Moon Forest before Lonan, Mathias and little princess Bhreac ever came on the scene. Now, they were all grown up. Had it truly been so long? He wondered what Chogan looked like now. As he approached his mate, he nuzzled him tenderly, nibbling him about the ears in greeting. “Afternoon, stranger,†he beamed at his love. “Did I miss something exciting, or am I just in time?†He faced the green-eyed wolf thoughtfully. “I’m Lemon, for the record.†He grinned.

OOC - Sorry for the MASSIVE delay. Surprise holidays and whatnot. Love you guys, though! <3

The speech had been spat with a bitter and determined tongue, the topic of his dead mother even belonging to somewhere else infuriated him. She was never part of that "Tribe". Her loyalty always lied with the Salvajes, Midas, her friends, her boys. Until she left with no reason. But Taigi had forgiven her for that. He had forgiven Midas, too. After all, his mother had died in the process of returning to Taigi and Chogan. He shook himself, mind heavy with the inner turmoil of the fact that many more deaths could occur if this war progressed.

A voice disturbed his thoughts. A rather hesitant grey male approached the adolescent, and Taigi's ears flung back at the sudden interogation. He had been quite enjoying his private thoughts, but he mentally shrugged it off as Smoke lessened his posture and tried to make sure they were both comfortable. Emerald eyes searched the other Strawberry's for a moment, and by the time he had drawn a breath, a familiar face appeared beside Smoke. They both introduced themselves and Taigi nodded.

He had not known Lemon personally, but he knew him well enough to know that they were... sort of related now. You are related to Green, my adoptive fath- guardian. Taigi said to Lemon, more confirmation of his own thoughts than the actual fact. It hit him then that he was losing touch with memories of his father, Midas. Lowering his head and taking a deep breath, Taigi smiled and spoke pleasantly enough to them both.

By "they", I was refering to this Tribe who try to take my brother and I hostage to our "real home". We won't go, they wage war. He shrugged. I'm Taigi.

Don't worry about it hunni - suprise holiday sounds fun ;)

In character
Much to Smoke's pleasent suprise, Lemon appeared. He nibbled on Smoke's ear and introduced himself. Smoke kissed his mate and smiled. "Lemon, what a pleasent suprise. I missed you babe." Smoke kissed him once more, then just sat by his side, not wanting to make the yearling uncomfortable. He turned his attention back to him, but he was looking at Lemon with a contemplative look across his face. "You are related to Green, my adoptive fath- guardian." Then he smiled at both of them and answered Smoke's question. "By "they", I was refering to this Tribe who try to take my brother and I hostage to our "real home". We won't go, they wage war." Smoke sighed. Them again. These wolves were really starting to annoy him. They touched his extended family so much. A low growl sat in his throat. "I'm Taigi."

His growl subsided and he bowed his head at Taigi in a sort of late greeting as he told the pair his name. "Ah, them." Smoke shifted uncomfortably in his seat they just made him so angry that he felt restless. "This wouldn't be the first time they've crossed this pack." He turned to Lemon. "They attacked our cousin Fawn, but mark my words, they won't touch you Lemon. I won't let them." His words carried such conviction and passion, he meant everything he said, he would die before they touched him. He turned back to Taigi. "Why do they want to take you and Chogan, Taigi?" He was feeling a strong urge to protect his pack in this time of need. or maybe the tribe really had got under his skin, or maybe it was just his fierce loyalty finally being put to the test in an exreme way.

SILENCE IS NOT THE WAY

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT

If the blonde wolf Lemon had instead been a cat, he would have been purring at the caress of his mate. Fortunately for the sake of making sense, he was still a canid, and so did not have the ability to make happy, light rumbling noises in his chest. He could smile, however, and did so with happy fervor, the expression drawing his features into a sunny mask, because though the feeling of contentment was real, so were the troubles of Taigi. It was interesting to hear that Green had adopted the green-eyed male, which made him wonder if he had adopted Chogan as well? It didn’t matter, but all the same it was an important piece of the story that had been left out. Regardless, that made Taigi family. “It’s good to know that my brother’s taken you in. That makes me an uncle of sorts,” he added, not missing the other’s slip.

His crooked grin faded dramatically at the mention of Fawn being attacked. He wanted to pipe up quickly, ask if she were alright, see if she needed tending and inquire into what had happened to the tribe femme, but he kept his blabbering mouth shut. He could only nod at Smoke’s protectiveness, touching his honey and cream nose lightly to the other’s gray shoulder in a gesture that could only be taken as, ‘I know, it’s okay.’ He had found that lovers sometimes didn’t need to use spoken words. He managed to reason that these things concerning his cousin could wait until the two had a bit more privacy. Lemon didn’t want to cause Tai any extra anxiety; he was troubled enough by the entire situation since it appeared that ‘they’ actually wanted to steal the young prince and his brother. Smoke had already asked the important question, so Lemon just sat, waiting quietly.

OOC - *dances*

"Uncle" had a nice ring to it. Taigi never had an Uncle before, only two Aunts, one he had never met, and the other who had decided to tell him his parents were dead, and then fall off a cliff herself. But that was not something to think on now, because Taigi had Lemon, Taigi had an Uncle. And, by the look of things, he had another Aunt as well. But this Aunt was guaranteed not to go dying, because one; she was a he, and males (excepting Midas) had never failed him yet, and two; Smoke was now related to Lemon, and no one from Lemon and Green's family had ever failed him yet.

Taigi didn't suspect they ever would, either. Smoke spoke to Lemon with a fierce loyalty and determination, and the Floración was filled with admiration for the grey male. Taigi could see that his "Uncle-of-sorts" was really happy being with his mate, and to the young wolf there was nothing odd about the couple being male - for he was lucky to have grown up with no prejudice back grounds. In fact, he'd grown up with Indris, who prefered males himself. Alas, the topic of love had temporarily distracted Taigi, and Smoke's information on Fawn brought him back into the real world.

He too frowned and lowered his head a little, sitting down to show that he was going to stick around and talk with them. I saw and heard about Fawn at the recent pack meeting, and I intend to visit her soon and see how she is. He smiled, pausing for breath, Feel free to come along with me, both of you. Taigi had always wanted to meet Fawn, and after this horrible event, she probably needed all the friends she could get.

And then came the question that Taigi had dreaded. Why did they want to kidnap Chogan and himself? Taigi wasn't even clear on that part of this mystery. Apparently, Smoke; Chogan and I are heirs to the Ho' nehe Tribe as leaders - Chogan would their 'Me'ko' or something. Our mother apparently was born into that Tribe before she came here. I don't believe it one bit...

In character
In response to his prottive statement, Lemon buried his nose in the brute light gray fur. He didn't speak, but Smoke knew what his mate was saying. He knew everything would be ok. Smoke looked over to Taigi who was looking at him was adoration. Smoke smirked at his silent compliment. Taigi then tackled the issue of Fawn being attacked. "I saw and heard about Fawn at the recent pack meeting, and I intend to visit her soon and see how she is. Feel free to come along with me, both of you." Smoke nodded. He needed to see his cousin and soon. It was a time like this when she needed him the most.

Next was the issue of the threat from beyond the mountain. "Apparently, Smoke; Chogan and I are heirs to the Ho'nehe Tribe as leaders - Chogan would their 'Me'ko' or something. Our mother apparently was born into that Tribe before she came here." Smoke shook his head. "And how much truth is in this statement. I'm willing to wager, not much." Well at least that explained the conflict between the two packs, but also opened up so many other questions to the whole of the pack. By the looks of things though they were sticking together. Smoke thought that really was something to be proud of. He was in a pack that stuck together. Like a proper 'family' should.

“I’d like that very much,” he replied, timbre soft and quiet. He did want to go visit Fawn. She had gone with him to the tunnel to visit the tribe, and had come across a fellow with quite a bad attitude. He remembered losing his temper, a character flaw he didn’t know he possessed until that day. Lemon’s face had adopted a stricken look, the pain in his eyes giving them a glittery sheen. Poor, poor cousin.

Smoke seemed to doubt the truth of their enemies cause, but the blonde Mango didn’t know what to think. How could they ever know the real story if Rayen, the only person who could attest, was dead? Either way, the Fields wolves would never let them go, never allow the tribe folk to steal Chogan and Taigi out from under their noses. “I don’t know if they’re right, but I do know that as long as I live and breathe, both of you will have a choice. If you wanted to go, we’d be sad to hear it, but if they persist and you refuse, I’ll fight for the both of you gladly.” It was the least he could do for an adopted nephew and his brother, who had once met Lemon when he was just a tiny red-gold ball of fluff. Lemon leaned against Smoke heavily, comforted by his steady breath and the gentle thumpa-thump of the heartbeat in his chest.
